Pattern Matching and Its Restrictions in Functional Languages (함수형 언어의 패턴 매칭 기능과 제약에 관한 연구)

  • Modern functional languages provide some forms of pattern matching capability in them. However, these forms are on an ad-hoc basis and vary from languages to languages, making the user hard to understand the feature. To overcome this problem, we present a systematic approach to adding pattern matching to functional language. We extend to the core functional language with pattern matching capability and illustrate several examples of the language. We also discuss how to extend the pattern matching capability to higher-order terms.

  • The main objective of this paper is to propose a measure of evaluation for non-normal process capability. If a process is not normally distributed, but normal-based techniques are used, serious errors can result. Our approach to solve this problem is that the Pearson system, the Johnson system, and the Burr system are selected for estimating a measure of process capability using the percentage nonconforming. In this paper, we found that the Pearson system and the Johnson system were a conparatively reasonable methods to calculate out of specification by example.

Effects of Network Positions of Organizational Members on Knowledge Sharing (조직구성원의 네트워크 위치가 지식공유에 미치는 영향)

  • Improving productivity of knowledge workers is an important issue in the 21st century referred as knowledge-based society. The core key word is knowledge sharing among constituents of an organization. The purpose of this study is to combine the social network position factors with attitude and behavior factors, and develop an integrated research model for the knowledge sharing among members of an organization. This study adopted the integrated theoretical framework based on social capital, self-efficacy, transactive memory, and knowledge sharing. Surveys were conducted to 42 organizational members from a department in a leading IT outsourcing company to empirically test the proposed research model. In order to validate the proposed research model, social network analysis tool, UCINET, a structural equation modeling tool, SmartPLS, were utilized. The empirical result showed that, first of all, organizational members' familiarity network position had significant influence on knowledge self-efficacy and transactive memory capability. Second, knowledge self-efficacy and transactive memory capability affected knowledge sharing intention. Third, knowledge sharing intention also had an impact on the job performance. However, organizational members' expertise network position had no significant influence on knowledge self-efficacy and transactive memory capability. This finding reveals the importance of the emotional approach rather than the rational approach in knowledge management. The theoretical and practical implications on the research findings were discussed along with limitations.

  • The restructure of the electrical power industry is accompanied by the extension of the electrical power exchange. One of the key pieces of information used to determine how much power can be transferred through the network is known as available transfer capability (ATC). The traditional ATC deterministic approach is based on the severest case and it involves a complex procedure. Therefore, a novel approach for A TC calculation is proposed using cost optimization in this paper. The Jeju Island interconnected HVDC system has inland KEPCO (Korean Electric Power Corporation) systems, and its demand is increasing at the rate of about $\10[%]$ annually. To supply this increasing demand, the capability of the HVDC system must be enlarged. This paper proposes the optimal transfer capability of the HVDC system between Haenam in the inland and Jeju in Cheju Island through cost optimization. The cost optimization is based on generating cost in Jeju Island, transfer cost through Jeju-Haenam HVDC system and outage cost with one depth (N-1 contingency).

An Analysis of the Correlation of Engineering Education Major College Students' Technological Problem Solving Tendency between Technological Problem Solving Capability (공학 교육 전공 대학생의 기술적 문제 해결 성향과 기술적 문제 해결력 간의 상관 관계 분석)

  • This study has the purpose to identify the correlation of engineering education major college students' technological problem solving tendency between technological problem solving capability. To that end, the technological problem solving tendencies of 79 students enrolled in engineering education related department in college of education, 'C' University located in Daejeon metropolitan city were examined, and the correlation of technological problem solving tendency between technological problem solving capability was analyzed through measurement of technological problem solving capability. As for the correlation among problem solving confidence a sub-element of technological problem solving tendency and technological problem solving capability, positive correlation was found in result 3, result 4 and result average. As for the correlation among approach-avoidance tendency a sub-element of technological problem solving tendency and technological problem solving capability, positive correlation was found in result 5 and result average. As for the correlation among self-control recognition degree the sub-element of technological problem solving tendency and technological problem solving capability, positive correlation was found in result 1, result 3 and result average. As for the correlation among problem solving tendency and technological problem solving capability, positive correlation was found in result 3, result 4, result 5 and result average.

A Study on the Adoption of SPICE in the Railway Software (철도분야 소프트웨어로의 SPICE 적용연구)

  • It can be considered that the safety of software is combined with that of hardware, and also directly connected to system safety. Because the software in the railway system takes the form of Embedded that let it behave at the system level, instead of independent operation, the safety of the railway S/W is also important. The approach, for ensuring the quality and safety of those software, can be considered with two points of view. Those are views seeing from products, and from processes. The two points of approach are all necessary in the railway system. For the first of all, the process approach is to validate maturity of the organizations in accordance to the judging processes of organizations, which are specified by CMMI(Capability Maturity Model Integration) or SPICE(Software Process Improvement and Capability dEtermination: ISO/IECl5504). In this paper, as the first step of them, we are trying to find approaches to estimate the maturity of manufacturer and assessment organization in the railway system.

Non-Adiabatic Flamelet Modeling for Combustion Processes of Oxy-Natural Gas Flame

  • In order to realistically predict the combustion characteristics of the oxy-fuel flame, the present study employs the non-adiabatic flame let approach. In this combustion model, the detailed equilibrium chemistry is utilized to accurately account for the thermal dissociation as well as to properly include the radiative cooling effects on the detailed chemistry. Numerical results indicate that the present approach has the capability to correctly capture the essential features and precise structure of the oxy-fuel flames. In this work, the detailed discussion has been made for the characteristics of oxy-fuel flames, the capability and defect of the present approach and also uncertainties of experimental data.

  • As the electrical power industry is restructured, the electrical power exchange is extended. To calculate ATC, traditional deterministic approach is based on the severest case, but the approach has the complexity of procedure. Therefore, novel approach for ATC calculation is proposed using cost optimization in this paper Cheju Island interconnected HVDC system with mainland in KEPCO (Korean Electric Power Corporation) systems, and the demand of Cheju Island increases about 10 ($\%$) every year. To supply for increasing demand, the supply of HVDC system must be increased. This paper proposed the optimal transfer capability of HVDC system between Haenam in mainland and Cheju in Chju Island through cost optimization. The cost optimization is considered production cost in Cheju Island, wheeling charge through Haenam-Cheju HVDC system and outage cost with one depth (N-1 contingency)

Smart Tourism Capability Maturity Framework : A Design Science Research Approach

  • Many cities in the world have increased initiative to realize smart tourism. There are unexplored challenges for the people which lead and manage smart tourism projects and realize its value in tourism (we call them as 'Smart tourism initiatives'), such as orchestrating of tourism complexity, developing and sharing tourism strategy, sustaining tourism projects and innovation. Concerning these challenges, we aim to design a holistic capability maturity model for sustainable and smart tourism governance enabling sustainable tourism innovations via tackling the challenges above. We adopted Dynamic capability theory as a theoretical lens and introduced Design science research methodology in order to develop a new capability maturity governance model as a design artifact. As a result of the study, we could synthesize findings from iterations of the design research cycle based on the IT Capability Maturity Model. Our result proposes a potential capability maturity model supporting effective communication and strategic alignment for the initiatives with illuminating future paths with evaluation methods on tourism capabilities for the initiatives. Throughout this study, we contribute to the body of knowledge as well as practice by proposing a new tourism capability governance model.

A Probabilistic based Systems Approach to Reliability Prediction of Solid Rocket Motors

  • A probabilistic based systems approach is addressed in this study for the reliability prediction of solid rocket motors (SRM). To achieve this goal, quantitative Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) approach is employed to determine the reliability of components, which are integrated into the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) to obtain the system reliability. The quantitative FMECA is implemented by burden and capability approach when they are available. Otherwise, the semi-quantitative FMECA is taken using the failure rate handbook. Among the many failure modes in the SRM, four most important problems are chosen to illustrate the burden and capability approach, which are the rupture, fracture of the case, and leak due to the jointed bolt and O-ring seal failure. Four algorithms are employed to determine the failure probability of these problems, and compared with those by the Monte Carlo Simulation as well as the commercial code NESSUS for verification. Overall, the study offers a comprehensive treatment of the reliability practice for the SRM development, and may be useful across the wide range of propulsion systems in the aerospace community.
