Optimal water management is to efficiently and equally supply an appropriate amount of water by using irrigation facilities. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate water supply capacity through distribution simulation between the designed distribution rate and re-distributed rate according to the changed farming conditions. In this study, we recalculated the agricultural water supply amount of Geumcheon main canal, which beneficiary area was reduced due to the development of Gwangju-Jeonnam innovation city, and we constructed a canal network using the SWMM model to simulate the change in supply rate of each main canal according to the re-distributed rate. Even though the supply amount of the Geumcheon main canal was reduced from 1.20 m3/s to 0.90 m3/s, it showed a similar supply rate to the current, and the reduced quantity could be supplied to the rest of the main canal. As a result, the arrival time at the ends of all main canal, except for the Geumcheon main canal, decreased from 1 to 3 hours, and the supply rate increased from 4 to 17.0% at the main canal located at the end of the beneficiary area of Naju reservoir.

During the past decades in South Korea, there have been several projects to reduce water demand and save water for paddy irrigation system by automation. This is called as intensive water management system by telemetering of paddy ponding depth and canal water level and telecontrol of water supply facilities. This study suggests a method of constructing topology-based irrigation network system using GIS tools. For the network modeling, a typical agricultural watershed included reservoirs, irrigation and drainage canals, pumping stations was selected. ArcHydro tools composed of edge, junction, waterbody and watershed were used to construct hydro-network. ArcHydro Model was then designed and the network was successfully built using the HydroID. Visualization using ArcHydro tools could display table property of each object. ArcHydro Model was linked to Agricultural Water Demamd and Supply Estimation System (AWDS) which developed by Korea Rural Community and Agriculture Corporation (KRC) to extract information of the study area. And menu of supply facilities information, demand analysis and supply analysis constructed for information acquisition and visualization of acquired informations.
This study was carried out to measure the amount of outlet discharge and analyse the water quality from an agricultural reservoir. Joongpyong reservoir was selected as the monitoring site. Daily discharge was determined by measured water level data of delivery canal and the stage-discharge relation curve. The measured water discharge through culvert outlet of Joongpyong reservoir was 593,200m3 which was equivalent to irrigation depth 1,186mm during irrigation period in 1999. And water samples were taken from the surface water of reservoir and delivery canal, periodically. Temporal variation of water quality constituents such as water temperature, pH, EC, total nitrogen, total phosphorus were investigated. The result showed that pH was ranged 6.9 7.8, total nitrogen 1.39 4.11mg/L, total phosphorus 0.007 0.036 mg/L, respectively.
Eighty two of extracted bovine mandibular incisors were sectioned transversely through the cementoenamel junction(CEJ) and instrumented to a size minimum-# 110 file at the working length by 5.25 % NaOCl irrigation. The roots in group 1 were received a final irrigation with 10ml of 17% EDTA followed by 10ml of 5.25% NaOCl, group 2, 10ml of 40% citric acid followed by 10ml of 5.25% NaOCl, group 3, 20ml of 5.25% NaOCl, and control group, 20ml distilled water. Canal walls of four roots in each group and control group were examined by SEM(x3000). Calcium hydroxide was placed into all experimental roots except control group. Each root was placed in nalgen bottle containing unbuffered distilled water. The pH level of the medium surrounding tooth was recorded at 0, one hour, and daily for 1week, then 14days, 21days, and 28days using pH electrode. At 1, 3, 7, 14, 21days, and 28days, four roots from each group were split longitudinally and the ratio change was recorded using spectroiluorometer. The results were followings : 1. The smear layer was totally removed from canal walls in group 1 and 2, but was observed in group 3 and control group. 2. The hydroxyl ion diffused more rapidly through radicular dentin when smear layer was removed from canal walls. 3. The hydroxyl ion derived from calcium hydroxide began to diffuse from the root canal to the exterior surface of the root at 1day, and continued to 1-2weeks. 4. The pH level of dentin near the CEJ was not different in all experimental group regardless of presence of smear layer. It is clinically advisable to place calcium hydroxide into root canal for 1-2weeks for the purpose of expectation of diffusion of hydroxyl ion. But, after the placement of calcium hydroxide into root canal, the consequent pH level of external root surface will be futher studied with respect to it's effect on the root and periodontium.
This study was conducted to evaluate the cleansing effect of RC-Prep (10% Urea-peroxide, 15% EDTA) on apical third of root canal. Thirty single rooted human teeth were divided into three groups, and ten canals in each group were all enlarged three sizes greater than their original diameter with K-type files and irrigated with each of three irrigants. The three used irrigants were RC-prep (Premier Co.) in combination with 3.5% Sodium hypochlorite, Normal saline, 3.5% Na OCL. In each group, one of three irrigants were used in conjunction with instrumentation as they would be during clinical condition. After final irrigation, the canals were dried with paper points and the teeth were split longitudinally. The cleanness of canal walls iii the apical region were examined with Scanning Electron Microscope. The following results were drawn. 1. The use of Rc-Prep in combination with 3.5% NaOCl showed more clean canal surface than the use of other two irrigants. 2. The canals used RC-Prep in combination with 3.5% NaOCl revealed remnants of pulp tissue and smeared layer, but the openings of dentinal tubules were relatively clean and wide. 3. There was no significant difference in the debridement effect of 3.5% NaOCl and Saline solution. 4. The use of Saline solution showed great amount of remnants of pulp tissue which couldn't find in the use of 3.5% NaOCl.
A Scanning Electron Microscope study was conducted to compare the effectiveness of mechanical preparation of the root canal in conjunction with a few number of canal irrigants that have been widely used for canal treatment. The irrigants used in this study were 5% sodium hypochlorite, 3% hydrogen peroxide, 15% EDTA, and 30% hydrochloric acid. The root canals of 84 freshly extracted teeth with single or multi root were conventionally prepared with Hedstroem files. 78 canals were irrigated with normal saline solution following each instrument number and 6 canals were prepared without irrigation. After instrumentation 72 canals were flushed with various irrigants for predetermined length of time as shown on the Table 1. Additional 20 teeth were kept uninstrumented and five of them were immersed in 15% EDTA for 5 minutes, five in 5% sodium hypochlorite for 5 minutes, five in 3% hydrogen peroxide for 20 minutes, and the last five were only rinsed with saline solution. The SEM examination revealed as follows: 1. The canal wall cannot be thoroughly prepared by means of files. 2. No typical structural changes occured on instrumented dentin surface by saline solution, 3% $H_2O_2$, 5% NaOCl, within 5 minutes. 3. 5% NaOCl Solution showed excellent solvent effect to organic substances in uninstrumented canal within 5 minutes and 15% EDTA and 3% $H_2O_2$ showed unsignificant changes. 4. 15% EDTA and 30% HCl dissolved calcified debris and dentin chips that obturated the dentinal tubules and showed patent orifices. 5. 15% EDTA affected on peritubular dentin more readily and showed concavity around dentinal tubules.
For integrated water management, it is essential to secure basic data such as the amount of agricultural water intake. The river water intake through the intake weir is carried out through the agricultural irrigation canal, and a method for measuring the quantity of water intake is required to suit the characteristics of the measuring points. In this study, the accuracy of the calculated flow data was determined by applying a microwave water surface current meter. The microwave water surface current meter is a method of calculating surface velocity using doppler effect, which is mainly used in high-velocities situations such as flood. Surface velocity is difficult to represent the average velocity of the entire section at low dicharges or high wind speeds, it is considered to be low in continuous utilization throughout the year, and it is necessary to verify whether the measurement using an microwave water surface curren meter is appropriate in agricultural irrigation canal. The data measured with an microwave water surface curren meter were compared with the actual flow data to calculate the intake data in agricultural irrigation canal. In agricultural irrigation canal, the low-level discharge calculated using an microwave water surface current meter at a minimum velocity of about 0.3 m/s and a minimum discharge of about 1.0 m3/s or higher was found to have a high tendency and accuracy compared to the standard discharge, especially when the high discharge was high. Although effective results can be obtained in terms of quantity at low discharge, it is deemed that subsequent studies are needed to calculate the average discharge of the cross section at low discharge, given that the trend of data is unstable. Through this study, it is suggested that it is appropriate to calculate the amount of water intake through the microwave water surface current meter in artificial waterways with a certain discharge or higher, so it is expected to be widely distributed as a method for measuring river water intake.

Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate and compare the efficacy of the S1 reciprocating system and the D-Race retreatment rotary system for filling material removal and the apical extrusion of debris. Materials and Methods: Sixty-four freshly extracted maxillary canines were shaped with size 10 and size 15 K-files, instrumented using ProTaper Gold under irrigation with 2.5% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), obturated according to the principle of thermo-mechanical condensation with gutta-percha and zinc oxide eugenol sealer, and allowed to set for 3 weeks at 37℃. Subsequently, the teeth were divided into a control group (n = 4), the D-Race rotary instrument group (n = 30), and the S1 reciprocating instrument group (n = 30). After classical retreatment, the canals were subjected to a complementary approach with the XP-Endo Shaper. Desocclusol was used as a solvent, and irrigation with 2.5% NaOCl was performed. Each group was divided into subgroups according to the timing of radiographic readings. The images were imported into a software program to measure the remaining filling material, the apical extrusion, and the root canal space. The data were statistically analyzed using the Z-test and JASP graphics software. Results: No significant differences were found between the D-Race and S1 groups for primary retreatment; however, using a complementary cleaning method increased the removal of remnant filling (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Classical removal of canal filling material may not be sufficient for root canal disinfection, although a complementary finishing approach improved the results. Nevertheless, all systems left some debris and caused apical extrusion.

The catch canal for a natural drainage, the excavation of tunnel for a stable irrigation, the artifical channelization of yazoo stream, many kinds of the pumping and drainage systems are found around Daedong-myeon, Gimhae-si. It could be confirmed that the deveolpment, maintenance and management of those facilities in the floodplain are mainly controlled by the geomorphological conditions. In case of Unha-chon, especially, the water can always be supplied only by openning the gate of irrigation tunnel and the Woldang pumping station as the largest pumping station in this area can supply water to Unha-chon area directly from the main river, Nakdong-gang. Because the Gamnae-chon which was an upper reach of the Unha-chon and is now connected to the Nakdong-gang through the Deoksan catch canal, the damage of flood and the burden of drainage are mitigated at the lower area of the Unha-chon.
In order to prevent the water loss in the irrigation canal constructed on the sandy gravel layer or on the other highly permeable ground layer, lining has been practiced. Many studies have been done so far on the lining method to prevent the water loss in the irrigation canal and recently studies on the lining with plastic film or polyethylene film were also reported. However, the plastic film or polyethylene film has low strength and is liable to break, and water loss from pin hole caused by contacting with sand or gravel is highly predicted. This study was then conducted to find proper lining and buring method in canal construction of polypropylene mat after coated with vinyl, as one way to overcome the shortcoming frequently observed when plastic or usual polyehtylene film were used. Eventhough rather longer periods of experiments are needed to attain reliable and accurate results on the variation of durability, the durability of asphalt coated area, or on the damage due to freeze after burial or exposure of polypropylene mat, the experiemental results obtained during one year of period are summarized as follows: 1. The curvature at the area between canal bottom and side slope had increased stability and saved consruction cost. The relationship among the variation of curvature, the reduction of polypropylene mat and the reduced amount of soil cutting at each side slope was presented in Fig. 7 through 9. 2. The depth of covering material to protect polypropylene mat was desired to be over 30cm, considering the water depth, side slope, canal cleaning practices, traffic, or back pressure of irrigation period. 3. In order to increase the canal stability and to prevent slope erosion, sandy soil was required, to be placed under ground, and coarse gravel should cover the surface area of canal. 4. The studies on the stability of side slope in the canal should consider the passive area on the bottom and the slope should be about 1 to 2, considering the slope stability, allowable velocity and tractive force. 5. When compared with earth lining, the lining with polypropylene mat coated with vinyl was responsible to save 28% and 37% of canal lining cost, when the soil carrying distances were 500 and 700m. respectively. 6. The water interception was almost completely attained when the polypropylene mat coated with vinyl was used for lining. But further studies were assumed to be necessary for the use of asphalt since the strength of polypropylene mat connected with asphalt will vary with duration.
