서울, 경기, 경남 일부 지역의 중${\cdot}$고등학생의 식습관과 자가 섭취 상태 조사법을 통한 영양 섭취 평가 (Food Habits and Nutrient Intakes by Self-reported Food Consumption of Middle and High School Students In Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Gyeongnam Area)

  • The purpose of this study were to investigate middle and high school students' food habits and food attitudes, and to assess student's nutrient consumption. A self-administered questionnaire was developed based on review of literature. The questionnaire consisted of three sections (food habits, food attitudes, and food consumption). The questionnaires were distributed to 4,050 students enrolled in 34 middle and high schools located in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Gyeongnam provinces. A final response rate was 88.2% (3,570) excluding responses that had significant missing data. Data of the food habits and food attitudes were analyzed with descriptive analysis, $x^2$-test, and t-test using SPSS WIN(ver.11.0). The student's self-reported food consumption data was converted into nutrient consumption using conversion factor. Many middle and high school students skipped breakfast and/or dinner. Approximately 29% of the students did not eat vegetables and fruits. Scores of the middle school student's attitudes(19.1) towards foods were significantly higher than those of the high school student's attitudes(18.7)(p<.001). Student's nutrient intakes were estimated according to the student's self-reported food consumption data. The nutrient intakes were compared with DRIs(Dietary Reference Intakes: DRIs) for their age groups. The result of EAR(Estimated Average Requirement: EAR) cut-point method demonstrated 57.7% of middle school boys, 64.4% of middle school girls, 70.2% of high school boys, and 71.0% of high school girls did not meet EAR for Calcium. Additionally, it showed that 39.0% of middle school boys, 23.7% of middle school girls, 58.4% of high school boys, and 24.4% of high school girls did not consume EAR for Vitamin $B_1$. 25.7% of middle school boys did not meet EAR for Vitamin $B_2$, while 44.4% high school boys did not satisfy EAR for Vitamin $B_2$.

저 투수성 지반의 동전기 주입 개량의 실험 연구 (The Experimental Study on Electrokinetic Injection Improvement of Low Permeable Ground)

  • 본 연구에서는 점성토의 강도를 증진시키기 위해, 일련의 동전기 주입 안정화 실내 실험을 수행하였다. 이를 위해 규산나트륨을 주입제로 선정하고 농도를 변화(500, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500mM)시켜 동전기 주입 안정화 기법의 적용성을 파악하였고, 처리기간과 전압경사에 따른 영향을 파악하기 위해 2일 간격(2, 4, 6, 8, 10일)으로 처리기간을 설정한 실험과 0.25, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0V/cm로 전압경사를 변화시킨 실험을 실시하였다. 또한 염화칼슘과 수산화알루미늄을 2차 주입제로 사용하여 첨가농도에 따른 전단강도 개량 효과를 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 규산나트륨(1000mM)을 5일간 적용한 후 2차 주입제의 농도를 50, 250, 500, 750, 1000mM로 변화시켜 5일간 적용하였다. 규산나트륨의 농도 결정시험결과 1000mM 이상의 농도에서 일정한 값으로 수렴하는 양상을 띠었으며, 이 때 초기 강도보다 약 800% 크게 강도증진효과가 나타났다. 최적전기경사와 처리기간 결정시험결과 전압의 경우 1V/cm, 처리기간의 경우 6일 이상에서 강도증가치가 수렴하는 양상이 나타났다. 염화칼슘과 수산화알루미늄을 2차 주입제로 사용한 경우, 두 경우 모두 250mM 이상의 농도에서 일정한 강도값으로 수렴하는 양상이 나타났으며, 규산나트륨만 사용한 경우보다 약 20~30%의 강도증진효과가 발생했다.

불화수소에 대한 사고대응 정보시트 개발 (Development of Accident Response Information Sheets for Hydrogen Fluoride)

  • We analyzed the demand of competent authorities requiring adequate technical information for initial investigation of chemical accidents. Reflecting technical reports on chemical accident response by environmental agencies in the U.S. and Canada, we presented information on environmental diffusion and toxic effects available for the first chemical accident response. Hydrogen fluoride may have the risk potential to corrode metals and cause serious burns and eye damages. In case of inhalation or intake, it could have severe health effects. The substance itself is inflammable, but once heated, it decomposes producing corrosive and toxic fume. In case of contact with water, it can produce toxic, corrosive, flammable or explosive gases and its solution, a strong acid, may react fiercely with a base. In case of hydrogen fluoride leak, the preventive measures are to decrease steam generation in exposed sites, prevent the transfer of vapor cloud and promptly respond using inflammable substances including calcium carbonate, sodium bicarbonate, ground limestone, dried soil, dry sand, vermiculite, fly ash and powder cement. The method for fire fighting is to suppress fire with manless hose stanchions or monitor nozzles by wearing the whole body protective clothing equipped with over-pressure self-contained breathing apparatus from distance. In case of transport accident accompanied with fire, evacuation distance is 1,600m radius. In cae of fire, fire suppression needs to be performed using dry chemicals, CO2, water spray, water fog, and alcohol-resistance foam, etc. The major symptoms by exposure route are dyspnoea, bronchitis, chemical pneumonia and pulmonary edema for respiration, skin laceration, dermatitis, burn, frostbite and erythema for eyes, and nausea, diarrhea, stomachache, and tissue destruction for digestive organs. In atmosphere, its persistency is low, and its bioaccumulation in aquatic organism is also low.

유기물을 이용한 액비 제조시 발효액의 화학적 특성 변화 (Changes of Chemical Properties during Liquid Fertilizer Processing using Different Organic materials)

  • 본 연구는 유기액비 재료가 유기액비 제조시 화학적 특성 변화에 미치는 영향을 구명코자 충청북도농업기술원 플라스틱 하우스에서 수행하였다. 계분, 대두박, 쌀겨 등 3처리를 하였다. 본 시험에서 얻어진 결과를 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 액비 원료의 총 질소 함량은 대두박이 55 mg·kg-1으로 가장 많았으며, 인산과 칼륨 함량은 계분에서 가장 많았다. 계분의 pH는 중성에 가까웠으며, 대두박과 쌀겨는 강산성을 띠었다. 계분 액비의 EC는 발효기간이 증가할수록 증가하였고, 대두박과 쌀겨 액비는 발효기간 중 증가하다가 감소, 증가하는 경향이었다. 계분 액비의 황화수소 발생량은 발효 후 2주차에는 3,200 mg·L-1이었으나, 발효 12주차에는 1,600 mg·L-1으로 감소하였고, 대두박과 쌀겨 액비는 발효 과정중 황화수소 가스가 발생하지 않았거나 거의 발생하지 않았다. 질소와 칼슘 함량은 계분 액비와 대두박 액비에서 가장 많았다. 인산, 마그네슘의 함량은 쌀겨 액비에서 각각 5.6 g·kg-1, 1.5 g·kg-1으로 가장 높았다. 칼륨은 처리에 따라 4.3-4.4g·kg-1으로 차이가 없었다.

조현병과 제1형 양극성장애의 진단 경계를 넘어선 공통적 후보유전자로서의 CACNA1C에 대한 단일염기다형성 연합 연구 (Association between a Genetic Variant of CACNA1C and the Risk of Schizophrenia and Bipolar I Disorder Across Diagnostic Boundaries)

  • Objectives : Genome-wide association studies (GWASs) and meta-analyses indicate that single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the a-1C subunit of the L-type voltage-dependent calcium channel (CACNA1C) gene increase the risk for schizophrenia and bipolar disorders (BDs). We investigated the association between the genetic variants on CACNA1C and schizophrenia and/or BDs in the Korean population. Methods : A total of 582 patients with schizophrenia, 336 patients with BDs consisting of 179 bipolar I disorder (BD-I) and 157 bipolar II disorder (BD-II), and 502 healthy controls were recruited. Based on previous results from other populations, three SNPs (rs10848635, rs1006737, and rs4765905) were selected and genotype-wise association was evaluated using logistic regression analysis under additive, dominant and recessive genetic models. Results : rs10848635 showed a significant association with schizophrenia (p=0.010), the combined schizophrenia and BD group (p=0.018), and the combined schizophrenia and BD-I group (p=0.011). The best fit model was dominant model for all of these phenotypes. The association remained significant after correction for multiple testing in schizophrenia and the combined schizophrenia and BD-I group. Conclusion : We identified a possible role of CACNA1C in the common susceptibility of schizophrenia and BD-I. However no association trend was observed for BD-II. Further efforts are needed to identify a specific phenotype associated with this gene crossing the current diagnostic categories.

소석회에 의해 개질된 바이오 황이 시멘트 수화 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Bio-Sulfur Modified by Slaked Lime on Cement Hydration Properties)

  • 콘크리트의 염해저항성을 향상시키기 위한 방법으로 콘크리트에 황(S)을 사용하는 것이 다양하게 연구되어 왔으나, 유황은 고체로 존재하고 분말화가 어렵기 때문에 시멘트, 콘크리트 등의 혼화제나 혼합물로 활용하기 어려운 단점이 있다. 이러한 문제점을 해결하기 위해 디시클로펜타디엔 등의 고분자를 사용하여 황을 개질한 바 있으나, 이 역시 개질 후 끈끈한 상태로 존재하여 근본적인 문제를 개선하지 못한다. 이에 새롭게 개질한 바이오 황이 시멘트 수화에 미치는 영향을 검토한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 소석회 개질 바이오 황은 반응 조건에 따라 미반응 황 및 소석회, 칼슘-황(Ca-S) 화합물 및 물을 함유한 슬러리 상태로 존재한다. 소석회 바이오 황을 시멘트 혼합물로 사용하는 경우, 소석회 개질 바이오 황을 첨가한 모르타르의 내염해성은 일반 모르타르에 비해 우수하며, 이는 소석회 개질 바이오 황을 함유한 시멘트 수화물의 구조가 ettringite의 지속적인 존재로 인해 일반 시멘트 수화물의 구조보다 더 치밀하기 때문인 것으로 판단된다.

Three sesquiterpene lactones suppress lung adenocarcinoma by blocking TMEM16A-mediated Ca2+-activated Cl- channels

  • Transmembrane protein TMEM16A, which encodes calcium-activated chloride channel has been implicated in tumorigenesis. Overexpression of TMEM16A is associated with poor prognosis and low overall survival in multiple cancers including lung adenocarcinoma, making it a promising biomarker and therapeutic target. In this study, three structure-related sesquiterpene lactones (mecheliolide, costunolide and dehydrocostus lactone) were extracted from the traditional Chinese medicine Aucklandiae Radix and identified as novel TMEM16A inhibitors with comparable inhibitory effects. Their effects on the proliferation and migration of lung adenocarcinoma cells were examined. Whole-cell patch clamp experiments showed that these sesquiterpene lactones potently inhibited recombinant TMEM16A currents in a concentration-dependent manner. The half-maximal concentration (IC50) values for three tested sesquiterpene lactones were 29.9 ± 1.1 µM, 19.7 ± 0.4 µM, and 24.5 ± 2.1 µM, while the maximal effect (Emax) values were 100.0% ± 2.8%, 85.8% ± 0.9%, and 88.3% ± 4.6%, respectively. These sesquiterpene lactones also significantly inhibited the endogenous TMEM16A currents and proliferation, and migration of LA795 lung cancer cells. These results demonstrate that mecheliolide, costunolide and dehydrocostus lactone are novel TMEM16A inhibitors and potential candidates for lung adenocarcinoma therapy.

배 검은별무늬병 감염과 저항성 방어반응 연관 전사체 프로파일 (Transcriptomic Profile in Pear Leave with Resistance Against Venturia nashicola Infection)

  • The molecular understanding of resistance and susceptibility of host plants to scab, a most threatful disease to pome fruit production worldwide, is very limited. Comparing resistant line '93-3-98' to susceptible one 'Sweet Skin' at seven time points of 0, 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 8 days post inoculation, RNA-sequencing data derived from infected and mock-inoculated young leaves were analyzed to evaluate the tolerant response and to mine candidate genes of pear to the scab pathogen Venturia nashicola. Analysis of the mapped reads showed that the infection of V. nashicola led to significant differential expression of 17,827 transcripts with more than 3-fold change in the seven pairs of libraries, of which 9,672 (54%) are up- and 8,155(46%) are down-regulated. These included mainly receptor (NB-ARC domains-containing, CC-NBS-LRR, TIR-NBS-LRR, seven transmembrane MLO family protein) and transcription factor (ethylene responsive element binding, WRKY DNA-binding protein) related gene. An arsenal of defense response of highly resistant pear accessions derived from European pear was probably supposed no sooner had V. nashicola infected its host than host genes related to disease suppression like Polyketide cyclase/dehydrase and lipid transport protein, WRKY family transcription factor, lectin protein kinase, cystein-rich RLK, calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding copine protein were greatly boosted and eradicated cascade reaction induced by pathogen within 24 hours. To identify transcripts specifically expressed in response to V. nashicola, RT-PCRs were conducted and compare to the expression patterns of seven cultivars with a range of highly resistant to highly susceptible symptom. A DEG belonging to the PR protein family genes that were higher expressed in response to V. nashicola suggesting extraordinary role in the resistance response were led to the identification. This study provides the first transcriptional profile by RNA-seq of the host plant during scab disease and insights into the response of tolerant pear plants to V. nashicola.

기능성 표시식품형 난소화성말토덱스트린 첨가 감바스 알 아히요(Gambas al ajillo) 레토르트 식품의 관능 및 품질특성 (Sensory and Quality Characteristics of Gambas al Ajillo Retort Foods with Nondigestible Maltodextrin as Functional Labeling Foods)

  • We investigated the sensory and quality characteristics of gambas al ajillo retort foods with nondigestible maltodextrin (trial gambas) compared with commercially available frozen gambas al ajillo (control). Trial gambas demonstrated approximate compositions of 75.8% moisture, 11.3% protein, 5.8% lipid, 1.7% ash, and 5.4% carbohydrates, indicating lower lipid and carbohydrate contents but higher moisture, protein, and ash levels than that of the control. Sensory assessments conclusively established the superior overall acceptability of trial gambas over the control. Trial gambas exhibited a total amino acid content of 9.62 g/ 100 g, surpassing the 5.39 g of the control. The major amino acids, such as lysine, leucine, arginine, aspartic acid, and glutamic acid, contributed significantly to its enhanced nutritional profile. Mineral analysis revealed higher calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, and iron levels in trial gambas and lower potassium levels than that in the control. Fatty acid profiling identified 18:1n-9 (67.8%) and 16:0 (11.9%) as the predominant fatty acids, in concordance with the control. This study substantiates trial gambas with the health-oriented preferences of the MZ generation while presenting superior sensory and quality attributes compared with the control.

향어(Cyprinus carpio) 함유 쿠키의 영양특성 (Nutritional Properties of Cookies Made with Israeli Carp Cyprinus carpio)

  • This study was conducted to compare the nutritional properties of cookies made with Israeli carp Cyprinus carpio (C-IC) to those made without Israeli carp (control). The proximate composition of C-IC per 100 g was 4.1 g moisture, 9.7 g protein, 29.2 g lipid, 1.4 g ash, and 55.6 g carbohydrates. Moisture, protein and ash contents were significantly higher and the carbohydrate content was significantly lower (P<0.05) in C-IC than control, but there was no difference in lipid content (P>0.05). The total amino acid content of C-IC per 100 g was 9.46 g and the major amino acid was glutamic acid (2.49 g). The mineral contents of C-IC per 100 g were 216.6 mg calcium, 193.2 mg phosphorus, 170.9 mg potassium, and 18.2 mg magnesium, which were all significantly higher than the contents of the control (P<0.05). The major fatty acids of C-IC were 16:0, 18:1n-9, and 18:2n-6. The digestibility of C-IC in the small intestine was 51.3%, which was higher than the digestibility of the control. These results suggest that C-IC have better nutritional properties than the control.
