Calciumsilicate의 생성반응에 미치는 $SO_3$ 영향(III) (Effect of $SO_3$ on Calciumsilicate Formation(III))

  • In this study an investigation was made to determine optimum ratio between $SO_3$, MgO and $K_2O$ that maximizes $C_2S$ formation in Clinkering reaction Using response surface analysis method. It was proved that 1) Residual $K_2O$ int he clinker should be converted to $K_2SO_4$ because $K_2SO_4$ has less effect on the burnability than $K_2O$, 2) Optimum ratio if $SO_3$/K2O is 1.5, 3) Optimun balance between $CaSO_4$ and MgO is to be adjusted to such a level that w/o SO3=0.7(w/o MgO-2).4) In case of lack of $K_2O$ free CaO was minimized when $K_2SO_4$=2.3w/o and MgO=1.5w/o but if remaining $K_2O$ was 2w/o free CaI was minimized in the level that $K_2SO_4$=2.3w/o and MgO =1.5 w/o but if remaining $K_2O$ was 2 w/o free CaO was minimized in the level that $K_2SO_4$=4.5w/o and MgO =3.0 w/o.

식이중 Guar Gum과 Calcium 보충이 흰쥐의 체내 영양소 이용율에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Guar Gum and Calcium Supplement on Nutritional Bioavailabilities in the Rats)

  • This balance study was performed to investigate nutritional effects of guar gum and calcium supplement for 8 weeks. 36 male rate of Sprague-Dawley strain weighing 50g were blocked into six groups : 5CN, 5GN, 5CS, 5GS, FFN, 10GN. Food intake, body weight gains, FER, PER, bioavailabity of energy, protein, fat, Ca and P, and Ca & P content of femur and kidney was measured. The results obtained in this study were summarized as follows: (1) Feed intake, weight gains, FER, PER and bioavailabilities of protein and P and the contents of Ca & P in femur of 5GB were significantly higher than 5CN and 5CS (p<0.05) but was not significant different with those 5GN. Fat bioavailabilities of 5GS was significantly lower than 5CN and 5GN (p<0.05) but was not significant different with those of 5CS. Ca contents of kidney of 5GS was significantly higher than 5CN and 5GN(p<0.05) but was not significant different with those of 5SC. (2) According to guar gum levels feed intake. FER and PER were not sifgnificantly different among groups but body weight gains, bioavailabilities of energy, protein, fat and Ca, Ca & P content of femur was significantly decreased (p<0.05). Bioavailabilities of P was significantly increased according to the guar gum levels (p<0.05). Ca contents in Kidney of 10GN was significantly higher those of 5GN(p<0.05) but P contents in kidney was not significant difference by guar gum levels. Therefore 5% supplemental guar gum in diet of obese man and diebetics could be recommended. But it should be careful in using 10% guar gum in diet.

Nutrient Intake, Acid Base Status and Growth Performance of Thalli Lambs Fed Varying Level of Dietary Cation-anion Difference

  • Influence of -110, +110, +220 and +330 mEq/kg of dry matter (DM) dietary cation-anion difference (DCAD) on growth performance of Thalli lambs were examined in a randomized complete block design. Four DCAD diets were randomly allotted to four groups, with ten lambs in each group. A linear increase in nutrient intake was recorded with increasing DCAD level. The digestibilities of nutrients were higher in lambs fed -110 DCAD diet than those fed +110, +220 and +330 DCAD diets. Lambs fed +330 DCAD diet had higher nitrogen balance than those fed -110 and +110 DCAD diets. Blood pH and serum $HCO_3$ increased with increasing DCAD level. Serum chloride was higher in lambs fed -110 DCAD diet, while serum (Na+K)-(Cl+S) increased linearly with increasing DCAD level. Serum calcium increased with decreasing DCAD level while serum magnesium and phosphorus remained unaffected. Lambs fed -110 DCAD diet had higher Ca balance than those fed +110, +220 and +330 DCAD diets. Urine pH increased with increasing DCAD level. Lambs fed +220 and +330 DCAD diets gained more weight than those fed -110 and +110 DCAD diets. In conclusion, increased DCAD level not only increased the dry matter intake but also improved the weight gain of growing Thalli lambs.

EFFECT OF FEEDING BROILER LITTER ON GROWTH AND NUTRIENT UTILIZATION BY BARBARI GOAT

  • Four isocaloric (68.71, 67.07, 66.68 and 66.25% TDN) and isonitrogenous (12.96, 13.36, 13.36 and 12.96% CP) diets without or with 20, 25 and 30% broiler litter were fed to 20 male kids for 90 days. Weight gain and feed efficiency were higher (p < 0.05) for kids offered control diets as compared to kids fed diets containing broiler litter. There was a significant (p < 0.05) decrease in the feed intake with increasing level of broiler litter in the diets. Digestibility for organic matter, crude protein and crude fibre were not affected (p > 0.05) by the inclusion of broiler litter in the diets, whereas inclusion of broiler litter depressed (p < 0.05) the digestibility of dry matter and ash. Nitrogen balance was positive for all diets, however, nitrogen retention decreased (p < 0.01) with the increased level of broiler litter. Blood Na, K, Ca, P and urea-N were within normal range.

식품 섭취의 다양성에 따른 중소도시 노인의 영양 및 식행동, 건강상태에 관한 연구 (A Study on Nutrient Intake, Food Behavior and Health Conditions according to Food Intake Diversity in the Elderly in a Local City)

  • This survey was carried out to study the difference of nutrient intake, food behavior and health condition according to food intake diversity in the elderly(age 65 year over and 74 year under) in a local city. A diet survey with one day 24-recall method was used for 216 subjects(65 male & 151 female). Based on a food intake diversity examination, including an evaluation of KDDS(Korean's Dietary Diversity Score ; counts the number of food groups consumed daily from total five food groups(cereal, meat, vegetable, dairy, and oil groups)), Meal Balance(apply the KDDS at breakfast, lunch and dinner), and DVS(Dietary Variety Score ; total number of foods consumed), subjects were clustered according to food intake diversity. Food intake diversity patterns of male and female clusters were classified each into threes(Male-low group(24.6%), middle group(33.8%), and high group(41.5%)/Female low group(41.7%) middle group(37.1%), and high group(21.2%). The averages of KDDS, Meal Balance and DVS were 3.0, 7.5, 14.8 in the male middle group, and 4.5, 10.2, 25.7 in the male high group, 2.7, 6.3, 14.3 in the female low group, 4.0, 8.6, 18.0 in the female middle group, and 4.5, 10.5, 25.7 in the female high group respectively. The average dairy intake of nutrients below the RDA were energy, protein, Ca, Fe, Vitamin A, Vitamin B$_2$and niacin in the male low group, energy, protein, Ca, Fe, Vitamin A, Vitamin B$_2$in the male middle group and energy, Ca, Vitamin B$_2$in the male high group but a little. Also the female low group had intakes of all nutrients except Vitamin C, the middle group had intakes of energy, protein, Ca, Fe, Vitamin A, Vitamin B$_2$, and the female high group had intakes of energy, Ca, Vitamin A below the RDA respectively. Food intake diversity increasing, nutrient intake, food behavior and health condition proved to be good. This study explored the usefulness of cluster analysis in identifying food intake diversity of three groups of the elderly in relation to their nutrient intake, food behavior and health conditions.

수원지역 빗물의 이온 조성 (Characteristics of Ionic Composition of Rainwater in Suwon)

  • 수원지역에서 영농기간 중 강우의 화학적 특성을 알아보기 위하여 2005년 4월부터 10월까지 39점의 빗물을 채수하여 pH 및 화학적 성분조성을 조사하였다. 강우량을 고려한 가중평균(volume-weighted mean) 이온농도 변화와 알카리성 물질들에 의한 빗물의 산성도 중화를 평가한 결과는 다음과 같다. 시료분석의 신뢰성을 검토한 이온균형과 전기전도도 수지 평가에서는 각각 높은 상관을 나타내어 분석 이온들에 대한 신뢰가 인정되었다. 조사기간 동안 빗물의 pH 분포는 pH 4.5~5.6 범위가 많았으며, 월별로는 6월이 다른 조사기간에 비해 높았다. 강우량와 빗물의 EC 관계에서는 강우량이 증가한 5월 이후 낮은 EC값을 보이다가 강우량이 적었던 10월부터 다시 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 빗물의 조성에서 양이온 구성은 $Na^+$ > $NH^{4+}$, $Ca^{2+}$, $H^+$ > $K^+$ > $Mg^{2+}$의 순이었으며, $Na^+$, $NH_4{^+}$, $Ca^{2+}$$H^+$가 전체 양이온 함량의 93% 이상을 차지하였다. 음이온은 $SO{_4}^{2-}$ > $NO_3{^-}$ > $Cl^-$ 순으로 $SO{_4}^{2-}$$NO_3{^-}$가 약 86%를 차지하였다. 조사기간 중 강우 산성도 중화는 6월이 다른 기간에 비해 높았음을 보였다. 총 sulfate 함량 중 nss-$SO{_4}^{2-}$ 함량은 88%로 빗물중에 함유된 sulfate의 대부분이 인위적인 발생원에서 기인되었다.

Phasic and Tonic Inhibition are Maintained Respectively by CaMKII and PKA in the Rat Visual Cortex

  • Phasic and tonic ${\gamma}$-aminobutyric acidA ($GABA_A$) receptor-mediated inhibition critically regulate neuronal information processing. As these two inhibitory modalities have distinctive features in their receptor composition, subcellular localization of receptors, and the timing of receptor activation, it has been thought that they might exert distinct roles, if not completely separable, in the regulation of neuronal function. Inhibition should be maintained and regulated depending on changes in network activity, since maintenance of excitation-inhibition balance is essential for proper functioning of the nervous system. In the present study, we investigated how phasic and tonic inhibition are maintained and regulated by different signaling cascades. Inhibitory postsynaptic currents were measured as either electrically evoked events or spontaneous events to investigate regulation of phasic inhibition in layer 2/3 pyramidal neurons of the rat visual cortex. Tonic inhibition was assessed as changes in holding currents by the application of the $GABA_A$ receptor blocker bicuculline. Basal tone of phasic inhibition was maintained by intracellular $Ca^{2+}$ and $Ca^{2+}$/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase II (CaMKII). However, maintenance of tonic inhibition relied on protein kinase A activity. Depolarization of membrane potential (5 min of 0 mV holding) potentiated phasic inhibition via $Ca^{2+}$ and CaMKII but tonic inhibition was not affected. Thus, phasic and tonic inhibition seem to be independently maintained and regulated by different signaling cascades in the same cell. These results suggest that neuromodulatory signals might differentially regulate phasic and tonic inhibition in response to changes in brain states.

전주지역 30세이상 성인의 성별, 연령에 따른 식사의 길 (Diet Qualities by Sex and Age of Adults Over Thirty Years Old in Jeon-ju Area)

  • This study was performed to assess diet qualities by sexes and ages of adults over thirty years old in Jeon-ju area. Diet survey with one day 24-recall method was used done for 382 subjects(129 males & 253 females). Survey sample was divided into six groups by sex and age groups: male 30-49, male 50-64, male 50-64, male 65-79, female 30-49, female 50-64 and female 65-79 years. Diet quality was assessed by NAR(Nutrient Adequacy Ratio), MAR(Mean Adequacy Ratio), INQ(Index of nutrition quality), KDDS(Koreans Dietary Diversity Score), Meal Balance, DVS(Dietary Variety Score), DQI(Diet Quality Index). The 5-point DQI assessed the important dietary guidelines for Koreans. The averages of energy, protein, P, vitamin B$_1$, vitamin B$_2$, niacin and vitamin C intakes were higher than 70% of RDA. The averages intakes of Ca and vitamin A were very lower than RDA all groups. The averages of MAR were 0.78, 0.81, 0.83 in male 30-49, 50-64, 64-79 years, 0.73, 0.77, 0.71 and in female 30-49, 50-64, 65-79 years, respectively. The averages of MAR in female 30-49 years and female 65-79 years were significantly lower than the averages MAR of male 65-79 years. The averages of Sugars and Beverages intakes were significantly higher in male 30-49 years than others. Animal food intake ratio(% total food intake) in the male 65-79 years(16%) was significantly higher than male 30-49 years(11%). The averages of Nutrition intakes were higher in male compared to female. The subjects who consumed all of the major five food groups were 5% in male 30-49, 17.8% in male 50-64, 25.0% in male 65-79 years, 18.9% in female 30-49, 23.7% in female 50-64, 11.5% in female 65-79 years. The averages of KDDS were 3.5, 3.9, 3.9, 3.8, 3.8, 3.5, respectively. The averages of Meal Balance were 8.6, 9.1, 9.1, 8.3, 8.4, 7.8, respectively. The averages of DVS 20.1, 19.9, 19.9, 20.5, 19.0, 17.2, respectively. The averages of DQI were 1.7, 2.2, 2.1, 2.0, 2.1, 1.7, respectively. 81.8% of the subjects had KDDS scores of 2 to 4 and 87.3% of the subjects has Meal Balance scores 4 to 10. In contrast, 89.8% of the subjects had DQI scores of 0 to 3. In view of these facts there are few who observed the five dietary guidelines for Koreans. There findings suggest that dietary qualities were associated with nutrient intake the relation factors may vary by sex and age of adults over thirty years old in Jeon-ju area. Common problems were lack of Ca, vitamin A and dairy products intakes. Therefore adults over thirty years old in Jeon-ju area need the important nutrient management such as Ca, vitamin A. Enhancement of UVB radiation-mediated apoptosis by knockdown of cytosolic NADP+-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenase in HaCaT cells

  • Ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation induces the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) that promote apoptotic cell death. We showed that cytosolic $NADP^+$-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDPc) plays an essential role in the control of cellular redox balance and defense against oxidative damage, by supplying NADPH for antioxidant systems. In this study, we demonstrated that knockdown of IDPc expression by RNA interference enhances UVB-induced apoptosis of immortalized human HaCaT keratinocytes. This effect manifested as DNA fragmentation, changes in cellular redox status, mitochondrial dysfunction, and modulation of apoptotic marker expression. Based on our findings, we suggest that attenuation of IDPc expression may protect skin from UVB-mediated damage, by inducing the apoptosis of UV-damaged cells.

김치, 파무침, 파인애플을 첨가한 기능성 돈까스의 관능적 및 영양적 평가 (Sensory and Nutritional Characteristics of Stuffed Pork Cutlet with Kimchi, Pineapple, and Seasoned Small Green Onion)

  • Stuffed pork cutlets were prepared by adding kimchi, pineapple, and seasoned green onion, and they were analyzed to measure sensory and nutritional characteristics. Sensory evaluation means of stuffed pork cutlet with kimchi, pineapple and seasoned small green onion was significantly higher than means of control pork cutlet especially for appearance after cutting, tenderness of meat, tenderness of stuffing, moistureless of stuffing, balance of meat and stuffing, flavor before taste, and flavor after taste. Dietary fiber, Vit. A, and Vit. C of kimchi pork cutlet was higher than them of control pork cutlet and frozen pork cutlet Dietary fiber, K and Vit. C of pineapple pork cutlet was higher than them of control pork cutlet. And Dietary fiber, Vit Ca, and P contents of pineapple pork cutlet was higher than them of frozen pork cutlet. Vit. A, $\beta$-carotene, dietary fiber, Ca, and P contents of seasoned small green onion pork cutlet was higher than them of control pork cutlet and frozen cutlet.
