본 연구는 CSDP-초기설계 시스템 개발'3' 세부과제로 수행되었으며 선박의 기본 성능 및 사양을 결정하는데 필요한 제반 기본 계산을 수행하고 설계자의 의사결정을 지원하는 대화식 초기 설계 전산 시스템의 개발에 그 목적이 있으며, 크게 개념설계 분야와 선형 설계분야로 나누어 개발 되어왔다.(Fig. 4.1 참조). 이번 4차년도에는, 프로그램을 보다 효율적으로 사용할 수 잇도록 하기 위하여 개년설계 시스템을 구성하는 단위 모듈들을 단독으로 사용 가능하도록 독립성을 유지 함과 동시에, 시스템 차원의 상위 레벨에서 각각의 모듈들을 통합 제어하는 수퍼어플리케이션 개념을 이용한 유연화된 대화형 개념설계 프로그램(BASCON-3)을 개발하였다. 그리고 선박의 주기관 선정과 관련한 경험적 지식을 도출하여 지식베이스를 구성하고, 주기관 데이터베이스 및 저항.추진성능 추정 모듈들과의 통합을 통한 시험형의 주기관 선정 지원 시스템(ME-ASSIST )을 개발하였다. 또한 그래픽 사용자 인터페이스(GUI)를 채택한 확장형 선형 정의 및 변환 프 로그램(MBASTRANS)을 개발하였다. 형상 모델러인 ACIS를 도입하여, 조선 분야에의 활용 가 능성을 연구하였고, 조선소에 GUI개발 기술과 시스템 통합 기술을 이전하였다.

컴퓨터 통합생산(CIM : Computer Integrated Manufacturing)이라고 부르는 새로운 생산방식은 재조산업의 경쟁력을 확보하는 수단의 하나로 여겨지고 있어 많은 연구가 진행중에 있다[6]. 우리나라의 기술수준을 선진국의 수준으로 오리겠다는 목표로 추진중인 G7 프로젝트에도 '첨단 생산시스템'이라는 과제가 있어 많은 예산과 인력이 투입되고 있다 [14]. 조선산업에서도 생산 성을 향상시키는 방안으로CIM을 구축하고자 하는 노력이 진행중이며 [15], 일본에서 조선, CIMS 과제가 추진되고 있고 [2,3,5,8], 우리나라에도 CSDP 과제가 수년간 계속되고 있다. [11]. 하지만 CIM이라는 시스템이 아직까지는 목표로서 존재하며, 이제 조금씩 그 실체가 형성되고 있고 아직도 계속 연구개발의 대상이다. 이 글에서는 조선CIM의 성격을 규정해 보기 위하여 유사한 시스템들과 조선 CIM을 비교하였다 [4,7,9,12 ]. 이러한 분석 작업은 앞으로 조선 CIM 시스템 개발에 도움이 될 것이다.

In 2003, the differing stances about the war in Iraq created a major diplomatic crisis among European countries. Considering various clues which have steadily emerged, this paper refutes the relevance of the debate about weapons of mass destruction and analyses the real motivations for these distinct positions through Europe: the role of the US in the transatlantic relationship, expectations towards the EU and the weight of public opinion. Then, it examines how these intrinsic divergences of political views and interests explain the difficulties encountered in implementing the European Security and Defence Policy and concludes on the keys issues which need to be addressed.

As more application programs have graphic functions, standards in the computer graphics are becoming important. To develop a computer aided design and production system for ships, which would be used by different shipyards, a graphic library should be chosen as a standard. Existing ISO graphic standards and de facto industrial standards are surveyed. They are, to name some of them, GKS, PHIGS, X-Window, PEX, PDES, and STEP. GKS and PHIGS concern about the application programmer's interface. Others handle the device interface. PDES and STEP are to standardize the graphical data transfer between heterogeneous systems. Their inter-relations are investigated. Some preliminary suggestions for the choice of graphic standards are included in this paper.
