Effective removal of non-radioactive and radioactive cesium from wastewater generated by washing treatment of contaminated steel ash

  • The co-precipitation process plays a key role in the decontamination of radionuclides from low and intermediate levels of liquid waste. For that reason, the removal of Cs ions from waste solution by the co-precipitation method was carried out. A simulated liquid waste (133Cs) was prepared from a 0.1 M CsCl solution, while wastewater generated by washing steel ash served as a representative of radioactive cesium solution (137Cs). By co-precipitation, potassium ferrocyanide was applied for the adsorption of Cs ions, while nickel nitrate and iron sulfate were selected for supporting the precipitation. The amount of residual Cs ions in the CsCl solution after precipitation and filtration was determined by ICP-OES, while the radioactivity of 137Cs was measured using a gamma-ray spectrometer. After cesium removal, the amount of cesium appearing in both XRD and SEM-EDS was analyzed. The removal efficiency of 133Cs was 60.21% and 51.86% for nickel nitrate and iron sulfate, respectively. For the ash-washing solution, the removal efficiency of 137Cs was revealed to be more than 99.91% by both chemical agents. This implied that the co-precipitation process is an excellent strategy for the effective removal of radioactive cesium in waste solution treatment.

  • Customer Satisfaction (CS) in Auto insurance market is the important factor which makes customer loyalty and retention increase. Recently On-line companies are threatening the existing Off-line companies with taking advantage of the low price through cut-offing the price by internet marketing. Therefore, the CS is becoming an indispensable survival strategy to the Off-line companies. Under these circumstances, this study finds out what the CS factors are in the auto insurance market, and produces levels of CS, customer loyalty and satisfaction Index of each category. The purpose of this study is to suggest the strategic improvement factor for elevating CS level and strategic direction for CS management by CS portfolio analysis based on the survey result.

해외 CS 교육 게이미피케이션 사례 분석 (An Analysis of Global Gamification Cases in CS Education)

  • 교육 게이미피케이션은 컴퓨터 과학(Computer Science, CS)분야에 많이 활용되고 있다. 본 연구는 CS 교육 게이미피케이션 선행 연구를 분석하고, 이를 통해 국내 CS 교육의 방향을 제언하는 것이 목적이다. 연구 진행을 위해서 경험적연구 방법을 적용했다. 키워드 검색을 통해 1220개의 선행연구를 수집했고, 그중에서 1차, 2차 추출과정을 통해 55개로 압축했다. 선행 연구 분석 결과 년도별 발표 현황, 적용 교과, 교육 대상, 게이미피케이션 요소, 결과 및 한계점에 대해 해석했다. 추후 연구에서 국내 CS 교육 게이미피케이션 사례를 분석하고, 본 연구와 비교분석할 예정이다. 그리고 국내 CS 교육 게이미피케이션의 발전 방향에 대해서 제언할 것이다.

Performance of Holstein cows subjected to different cooling sessions during subtropical summer

  • Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of different cooling sessions (CSs) as a water conservation strategy on physiological, and production responses and welfare in Holstein Friesian cows during subtropical summer in Pakistan. Methods: Twenty-one cows were subjected to three CS in a completely randomized design. The treatments were: i) eleven hours continuous cooling with sprinklers - control (CNT), ii) four CS, and iii) two CS. The CNT represented the practices of the commercial dairy farms in the area, while the other CSs were used as water reduction strategies. Each CS lasted for 1 h with a 12 min cycle (3 min water on and 9 min off) with a sprinkler flow rate of 1.25 L/min. Results: The average temperature humidity index of the shed and the outside open area were 81.9 and 82.5, respectively. The results showed that both physiological responses were highest in the 2CS group followed by the CNT and the 4CS (p = 0.001). The CNT and 4CS groups had similar milk yield (p = 0.040). The 4CS group had more lying and eating times than the CNT and 2CS groups (p = 0.000). The cortisol level in the 2CS group was 2.0 and 2.2 ㎍/dL more than the CNT and the 4CS groups, respectively (p = 0.000). Conclusion: In conclusion, the 4CS was more efficient in cooling the cows and had better welfare, as it yielded similar milk yield, and better physiological responses than the CNT despite using 90% less water.

타겟 샘플링 검사를 통한 출하품질 향상에 관한 사례 연구 (A Case Study on the Target Sampling Inspection for Improving Outgoing Quality)

  • Purpose: For improving outgoing quality, this study presents a novel sampling framework based on predictive analytics. Methods: The proposed framework is composed of three steps. The first step is the variable selection. The knowledge-based and data-driven approaches are employed to select important variables. The second step is the model learning. In this step, we consider the supervised classification methods, the anomaly detection methods, and the rule-based methods. The applying model is the third step. This step includes the all processes to be enabled on real-time prediction. Each prediction model classifies a product as a target sample or random sample. Thereafter intensive quality inspections are executed on the specified target samples. Results: The inspection data of three Samsung products (mobile, TV, refrigerator) are used to check functional defects in the product by utilizing the proposed method. The results demonstrate that using target sampling is more effective and efficient than random sampling. Conclusion: The results of this paper show that the proposed method can efficiently detect products that have the possibilities of user's defect in the lot. Additionally our study can guide practitioners on how to easily detect defective products using stratified sampling

  • Customer satisfaction is an ever-growing concern of management throughout the world. To find the way to increase customer satisfaction, we must understand customer requirements. Kano distinguishes between three types of product requirements(must-be, one-dimensional, attractive requirement) which influence customer satisfaction in different ways when met. Timko has developed customer satisfaction(CS) coefficient based on Kano model. The CS coefficient is indicative of how strongly a product feature may influence satisfaction. In this paper, potential customer satisfaction improvement(PCSI) index was developed using Kano model and CS coefficient. The PCSI index represents how much a product feature can increase the degree of customer satisfaction when the product feature is fully fulfilled. In order to explain the meaning of PCSI index, a case study for cellular phones is done. It is also discussed how to use the index strategically.

  • 차세대 지능망은 지능망서비스교환기(SSP:Service Switching Point), 지능망서비스제어 시스템(SCP:Service Control Point), 지능형정보제공 시스템(IP:Intelligent Peripheral)간의 시스템 연동으로 구성되며, 각 망 요소들은 지능망 서비스를 제공하기 위한 필요 기능들을 지원한다, 현재 KT는 ITU-TCS(Capability Set)-1 기반의 지능망 서비스를 제공하고 있으나 다양한 종류 즉, 회의통화 서비스나 선불카드 서비스에서 다자간의 호연결 기능 등이 요구될 때 그 한계점을 갖는다. CS-2 기반의 지능망으로 발전하면서 SSP는 CPH(Call Party Handling) 기능이 추가된다. CPH는 하나의 호에 대해 다자간 호를 관리할 수 있는 능력을 말한다. 이런 CPH 기능을 제공할 수 있어 CS-2 기반으로 발전된 차세대 지능망은 더욱 다양한 서비스를 고객에게 제공할 수 있게 된다. 본 논문은 CS-2 기반의 차세대 지능망 서비스의 기능에 대해 분석하고 분석된 결과를 확인하기 위한 메시지 흐름을 도식화 하였다. 또한 회의통화서비스를 분석된 지능망 기능을 적용하여 설명하였다.

회분식 제올라이트계에서 Cs 및 Sr의 이온교환속도 연구 (Ion Exchange Kinetics for Cs and Sr in a Batch Zeolite System)

  • 본 연구에서는 제올라이트에 의하여 Cs 및 Sr을 분리하는 무기이온 교환계에 있어서 물질전달 특성을 규명하는데 중점을 두었다. Cs이온의 경우 선택도가 우수한 AW300 및 AW500 제올라이트, Sr이온의 경우는 4A, 13X 제올라이트를 각각 선정하여 물질전달실험을 수행하였다. 실험조건으로는 $25^{\circ}C$, 교반속도 300rpm, 제올라이트량 4g, Cs 및 Sr 용액의 농도, 부피는 각각 1000ppm, 2000ppm의 $0.5{\ell}$에서 회분식의 이온교환 방식을 채택하였다. 물질전달속도는 경막내 확산에 의해 지배됨을 알았으며, 경막 내 물질 전달계수는 $10^{-4}{\sim}10^{-3}cm/sec$, 입자내 겉보기 확산계수는 $10^{-8}cm^2/sec$의 차수를 나타내었다.

환원분위기하 석탄회 세슘 반응생성물의 열적 안정성 (Thermal Stability of Cesium Reacted with Fly Ash in Hydrogen Atmosphere)

  • This study has been investigated to analyze the thermal stability of cesium reacted with fly ash with changing mole ratio of Cs/Al in hydrogen atmosphere. When the $CsNO_3$ and fly ash were reacted at $1000^{\circ}C$ in hydrogen atmosphere, cesium $nepheline(CsAlSiO_4)$ Phase began to emerge in addition to $pollucite(CsAlSi_2O_6)$ phase when the cesium loading quantity was greater than $0.32(g-Cs_2O/g-fly\; ash)$. Cesium $nepheline(CsAlSiO_4)$ Phase increased with increasing cesium loading quantity. When cesium trapped on a fly ash was exposed to $1200^{\circ}C$ in hydrogen atmosphere, no weight loss due to the volatilization was shown until the cesium loading quantity was reached at $0.32(g-Cs_2O/g-fly\; ash)$. In the case of the cesium loading quantity of $0.48-0.74(g-Cs_2O/g-fly\;ash)$ in hydrogen atmosphere, the weight loss increased with increasing the cesium loading quantity. This is considered to be due to the cesium $nepheline(CsAlSiO_4)$ whose vapor pressure is higher than that of $pollucite(CsAlSi_2O_6)$.
