  • Yoke simulator has been made for understanding beam movements in the deflection fields of the CRT. Consisting of the modeler, solver and post-processor, the simulator makes yoke model (conventional and rectangular yoke) and calculates charge sources and magnetic filed by BEM (boundary element method). This system supports a number of charge elements (line and surface charges) and beam movements can be predicted by the system.

  • This paper analyzes some important achievements in Ergonomics field in CRT industry. After introducing principal regulatory requirements for CRTs, including ISO 9241 and TCO standards, the paper indicates some theoretical research in ergonomics of the display devices, such as new contrast parameter for appraising the display devices and effects of environment on visual performance at the ergonomic. Then, as the pivot of this paper, some practical progress, in the ergonomics field in CRT manufacturing , are described, such as vacuum sputtering process for advanced CRTs, new developed wet process for getting the multi-coating layers on surface of the panel.

  • CRTs can survive in the long run for TV applications, because of their realistic reproduction of live images. CRT technology development has to be directed towards form factor, but also attention has to be paid to the form design of sets. The CRT is the only technology allowing a doubly curved screen surface.

  • A 50% reduction of convergence errors of CRT's is achieved by a technique referred to as 'Magnetically Improved Color Alignment' or MICA for short. The MICA technology comprises a ring of synthetic material (polymer) filled with ferrite particles. MICA is meant for repairing CRT's, which are out of convergence specification. The repairing occurs by writing a magnetic correction profile in the ring.

  • This paper has achieved that an optimal design and experiments of heater and cathode of electron gun that serve to embody high current density in CRT display. For the high brightness, high resolution and larger size in CRT display, high current density of electron gun is indispensible. An Impregnation style cathode is used, and must heighten operating temperature of heater to get high current density for this, it is proportional hereupon and power dissipation increases. In this paper, to get low power cathode with high current density, There are produced and tested sample that differ lead type of heater, coating method, the pitch and number of winding of the first and second coiling in the heat emission area for the low power design of high current density cathode heater in this paper.

  • This study is concerned with the accuracy, of error with which subjects can interpolate the location of a target between two graduation markers with 4 orientations and 6 sizes CRT display. Stimuli were graphic images on CRT with a linear, end-markec, ungraduated scales having a target. The location of a target is estimated in units over te range 1-99. Smallest error of estimates was at the near ends and middle of the base-line. The median error was less than 2 units, modal error was 1, and the most error (; 99.7%) was within 10. A proper size to make an minimum error in interpolation exists such that size 400 pixels. Interpolation estimation is shown to be affected by the size, location and interaction (orientation x location, size x location). The accuracy, interpolation performance are discussed in relation to absolute error associated with visual performance.

  • This study is concerned with the accuracy, the pattern of error with which subjects can interpolate the location of a pointer or a target between two graduation markers with various size on CRT display. Stimuli were graphic images on CRT with a linear, end-marked, ungraduated scales having a target for t base-line sizes. The location of a target is estimated in units over the range 1-99. Smallest error of estimates was at the near ends and middle of the base-line. The median error was less 2 units, modal error was 1, and most error(;99.6%) was within 10. Subjects had a more tendency to overestimate than to underestimate at the left-part of base-line in all siges, and an opposite tendency at the right-part. A proper size to minimize the interpolation error exists such that size 500. It is suggested that interpolation of fifths and even tenths will give a reguired accuracy for certain situations, and relative location and base-line size has a relevant attribute to interpolate.

  • In this study, the color reproduction algorithm considering both of luminace and chromaticity of the background light is presented and tested to BT-H 1450 monitor(Panasonic). In the case of neglecting the background effect, the Macbeth ColorChecker's 24 colors are reproduced with the average color difference ${\Delta}E_{ab}^{*}$ more than 9.0. By using this method, the average color difference ${\Delta}E_{ab}^{*}$ is decreased less than 1.0. From this study, we can find that both of luminance and chromaticity of background light are very important factors in the color reproduction on a CRT display.

  • We report using thin steel strip (0,1mm) for manufacturing Inner Magnetic Shield of CRT. Here we report that the reducing of steel strip thickness from 0,15mm to 0,1mm is possible as for one-piece IMS and for two-piece IMS without any reflection on quality of CRT. Also we report about advantages, which the producer of CRT could reach using steel with lowed carbon content up to 0,0005% by mass.
