Study on the CPWG Antenna of 1.8GHz (1.8GHz 대역용 CPWG 안테나 연구)

  • In this study, the properties of a patch antenna fed by a coplanar waveguide with ground (CPWG) and design method were studied. The antenna was impedance-matched to the CPWG feedline by adjusting the width, length, and position of the patch. To improve the frequency properties of the CPWG type antenna, patch length, patch width, patch position, and ground distance were simulated using HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator) simulation program. A CPWG antenna of 1.8 GHz for LTE band was designed and fabricated by photolithography on an FR4 substrate (dielectric constant of 4.4 and thickness of 0.8 mm). The fabricated antenna was analyzed using a network analyzer. The measured results agree well with the simulations, which confirmed the validity of this study. The fabricated CPWG antenna showed a center frequency, minimum return loss and -10dB bandwidth of 1.8GHz, -32.1dB, 22MHz and $50.2{\Omega}$ respectively. The proposed antenna is expected to be applicable to the LTE band.

  • In this paper, an antenna accessible to the Hepta-Band (GPS, DCS, PCS, UMTS, Wibro, Bluetooth and S-DMB) is designed and fabricated. To get broadband characteristics with small size, we propose a structure of Coplanar Waveguide-fed with Ground, which is based on a monopole antenna. Simulation is performed by adjusting the size of distance between a length of radiation patch and ground plane. The designed antenna satisfies the frequency bandwidth of 1.430Hz$\sim$2.9GHz(67.89%), the gain of $1.3{\sim}3.7dBi$ and an omni-directional radiation pattern at VSWR<2.

  • In this paper, the multi-band antenna with CPWG(Coplanar Waveguide with Ground) feed for telematics mobile devices is designed and fabricated. The proposed antenna improves the return loss characteristic by using open-circuited stub matching and rectangular slot in the radiation patch. In addition, CPWG structure makes up for the drawback of the CPW which is variation of impedance matching according to the gap variation of the feed line and the ground. The fabricated antenna has 1.4GHz ($1.43GHz{\sim}2.83GHz$, 65%) band width on -10dB (VSWR<2) and the maximum gains are 0.8dBi, 1.34dBi, 2.41dBi, 2.53dBi, 2.6dBi and 1.51dBi on each resonant frequency that are GPS $(1.564GHz{\sim}1.585GHz)$, PCS/DCS $(1.710GHz{\sim}1.984GHz)$, WCDMA $(2.170GHz{\sim}2300GHz)$, Bluetooth/Wi-Fi/WLAN $(2.4GHz{\sim}2.483GHz)$, WiBro $(2.3GHz{\sim}2.4GHz)$, SDMB $(2.605GHz{\sim}2.655GHz)$. It also has an omni-directional radiation pattern of H-Plane.
