Attached Treatment using Combined Septic Tank and Soil Filter of Treated Livestock and Farm House Wastewater (축산폐수 처리수 및 농가 생활잡배수의 합병정화조와 Soil Filter 에 의한 연계처리)

  • This study was conducted in order to investigate removal rate of organic matter, nitrogen and phosphorus to reduce environmental polluation with treatment to attach combined septic tank to 3 stage soil filter after mixing anaerobic treated water of livestock wastewater and low concentrated wastewater generated in farm house. Because anaerobic filter bed was packed in combined septic tank and a microorganism was accumulated in combined septic tank with increasing hydraulic retention time(HRT), if HRT $4{\sim}12day$, CODcr was removed $63.4{\sim}84.0%$. Also, $NH_4\;^+-N$ and $PO_4\;^{3-}-P$ were removed $3.9{\sim}5.4%$ and $18.3{\sim}29.0%$, respectively. In being re-treated by 3 stage soil filter, although hydraulic loading rate was gradually increased, CODcr, $NH_4\;^+-N$ and $PO_4\;^{3-}-P$ were removed above 90% due to filtration, adsorption, ion exchange, and action of soil microorganism. Generally, the attached treatment of combined septic tank and 3 stage soil filter did suitably treat livestock wastewater to water standard of discharge applied from '96 year, in view of decreasing pollution loading amount and recycling of agricultural water.

Horizontal Flow Zeolite-Filled Reed Bed for Treatment of Artificial Sewage with Intermittent Feeding (수평 흐름 제올라이트 갈대 여과상에 의한 인공하수 처리)

  • The artificial sewage was treated using a horizontal flow zeolite-filled reed bed. The artificial sewage was fed into the reed bed for 10 minutes every 6 hours at the hydraulic load of 314 L/㎡$.$day. The filtering height of the reed bed was 100 cm and the zeolite mixture was filled in the reed bed. The mixttjre consisted of the same volume of two types of zeolite: 0.5∼l mm and 1∼3 mm in diameter. Annual average removal efficiency was CODcr 95.8%, T-N 56.5%, NH$\_$4/$\^$+/-N 99.4% and T-P 61.3%. T-N removal efficiency decreased remarkably from 84 to 32% with the operating time.

Development of Bacteria for Removal of the Nitrogen in Wastewater (하ㆍ폐수 고도처리를 위한 다기능의 질소원 분해능 균주의 분리)

  • Ninety strains of photosynthetic bacteria were isolated from a local stream at Kyonggi-do, Korea and were further screened. Using these isolated strains, experiments were performed under various light and oxygen conditions in order to select strains with high nitrogen $(NH_3-N,\; NO_3^--N)$ removal efficiencies. Results showed that all the strains screened removed $NH_3-N$, the light had no effect on nitrogen removal, and the nitrogen removal rate was higher aerobically than anaerobically. The removal of $NO_3^--N$ was showed up to 35.3% in some specific strains. Results of batch experiments using Rhodocyclus gelatinosus, an isolated strain with a superior removal rate of $NH_3--N$ and $NH_3-N$, under the anaerobic condition, showed that the removal rate of organics and $NH_3-N$ was the highest (98.2 and 89.0%, respectively) at the CODcr (mg/L)/biomass (mg/L) ratio of 0.2, and the $NH_3-N$ concentration did not increase with the decreasing $NH_3-N$ concentration. Experimental results from various C/N ratios confirmed that the effective removal rate (75.8%) of $NH_3-N$ occurred even at the low (5:1) C/N ratio as well as high ratios, and the simulataneous removal of $NO_3^--N$ (96.0%).

  • This study is to investigate the biological degradation and the characteristics of MEA, a pH regulator to be put in the cooling water circulation system for power plants, loading to elevate concentrations of COD and N when eluted into the water environment. MEA, $NH_4^+$ and CODcr were monitored in flask cultures and in a batch aerator. MEA was found to be biologically degradable, producing substantial amount of ammonia (max. 78.1%) in a form of $NH_4^+$ and other carboneous intermediates. The degradation reaction rates were similar one another over all MEA concentrations tested as the activated sludge (microbial consortium) was acclimated to MEA with the gradual and stepwise increase in MEA input into the batch aerator. Also, MLVSS kept increasing with increasing MEA input. The COD-based degradation reaction order was determined to be 1.

Assessment on Environmental Stabilization of Used Open Dumping Landfill - A Case Study of Kamkok Landfill - (사용종료 비위생 매립지의 환경 안정성 평가 - 감곡 매립지 사례 연구 -)

  • The objectives of this paper are to investigate states of these open dumping landfills for managing, utilizing and stabilization of a municipal solid waste landfill site in environmentally secure conditions. The result of the physical analysis of the landfill showed that it is composed of between 29.72-63.84% organic matter, 32.88% vinyl plastic. The environmental assessment of the landfill site confirmed that the landfill is at a maturation phase due to 0.18 of $BOD_5$/CODcr of leachate. VS and FS of TS Was respectively 30.37%, 32.34% and C/N ratio was 21.8. Surface water around landfill was BOD 10.7 mg/g, SS 37.8 mg/g, E-Coli 31,157(MPN/$100m{\ell}$) and Ground water was $COD_{Mn}$ 1.13-1.38 mg/g, $NO_3-N$ 1.025-4.075 mg/g. Leachat indicated T-P 0.002-0.028 mg/g, $NH_3-N$ 4.0-21.0 mg/g. The soil contamination of around landfill didn't appear as below of the regulation of Soil Environment Conservation Act. The Landfill Gas was $CH_4$ 13.25%, $CO_2$ 6.17%, H2S and CO was not detected. Also Surface Water was not detected $CO_2$, $CH_4$, $H_2S$, CO.

제강분진을 반응촉매로 이용한 침출수의 연속산화처리공정

  • 본 연구에서는 포항제철소에서 제철부산물로 발생되는 제강분진을 전처리 없이 산화촉매로 사용하여 김포 수도권 매립지의 침출수 처리공정에서 펜톤산화조에 유입되는 원수를 대상으 로 과산화수소를 이용한 연속식 산화처리 실험을 수행하였다. 먼저 회분식 실험결과를 바탕 으로 최적 반응조건에서 lab-scale 연속식 기초반응실험과 자체 설계.제작한 연속산화공정에서의 처리실험을 수행하였다. 또한 기존의 펜톤산화공정에서 Fe 공급원으로 사용되고 있는 FeSO$_4$.7($H_2O$)와의 반응성 비교실험도 수행하였다. 반응기간동안 일정 pH를 유지하기 위해 pH controller를 사용하였으며 침출수 수질은 CODcr로 나타내었다. 반응 pH 3.5, 체류시간 1 hr, 과산화수소 주입량 1,500mg/1에서 제강분진과 FeSO$_4$.7($H_2O$)를 각각 주입하여 수행한 연속처리 기초실험에서는 제강분진을 산화반응촉매로 사용한 경우에 침출수CODcr 처리율 62%, 과산화수소의 분해율 52%를 나타내었다. FeSO$_4$.7($H_2O$)를 산화반응 촉매로 사용한 경우에는 약 65-70%정도의 다소 높은 처리효율을 나타낸 반면에 과산화수소의 소비량은 제강분진의 경우보다 약 20%이상의 높은 값을 나타내었다. 연속산화공정 실험에서는 운전 3시간 이후에 유출수 중의 CODcr과 $H_2O$$_2$의 농도가 안정된 값을 나타내었다. 이 때 산화 반응조의 침출수 CODcr 제거효율은 약 43%이었으며, 처리수의 농도는 현재의 침출수 방류기준 이하로 나타났다. 결론적으로 침출수의 연속식 산화처리 실험결과, 처리효율과 경제성에서 제강분진의 산화촉매활용 공정의 개발 가능성이 매우 높은 것으로 나타났다.ell에 의해 완전분해 되었으며, 함께 존재시 TC는 Fe$^{\circ}$만으로는 분해가 되지 않았지만 cell에 의해 완전분해 되었으며, 함께 존재시 TCE분해에 저해작용을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.술의 첨가가 요구되고 있다. 따라서, 산성광산배수 오염지대에 대해 획일적으로 같은 처리방법을 채택하여 사용하는 것보다 각 지역 또는 광산산성폐수가 유출되어 나오는 광산폐기물의 특성 등을 고려하여 거기에 맞는 기술들을 복합적으로 또는 단독으로 사용하되 처리방법 채택 시 신중을 기할 것이 요망된다.정시에는 SeaWiFS 위성과 관련된 global algorithms 중에서 490nm와 555nm의 복합밴드를 포함하는 OC2 알고리즘(ocean color chlorophyll 2 algorithm)을 사용하는 것이 OC2 series 및 OC4 알고리즘보다 좋은 추정 값을 도출할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.환경에서는 5일에서 7월에 주로 이 충체의 유충이 발육되고 전파되는 것으로 추측되었다.러 가지 방법들을 적극 적용하여 금후 검토해볼 필요가 있을 것이다.잡은 전혀 삭과가 형성되지 않았다. 이 결과는 종간 교잡종을 자방친으로 하고 그 자방친의 화분친을 사용할 때만 교잡이 이루어지고 있음을 나타내고 있다. 따라서 여교잡을 통한 종간잡종 품종육성 활용방안을 금후 적극 확대 검토해야 할 것이다하였다.함을 보이고 있다.X> , ZnCl$_{3}$$^{-}$같은 이온과 MgCl$^{+}$, MgCl$_{2}$같은 이온종을 형성하기 때문인것 같다. 한편 어떠한 용리액에서던지 NH$_{4}$$^{+}$의 경우 Dv값이 제일 작았다. 바. 본 연구의 목적중의 하나인 인체유해 중금속이온인 Hg(II), Cd(II)등이 NaCl같은 염화물

Development of Vortex Scrubber Using Electrolyzed Water for the Removal Efficiency Improvement of Minute Particles and Odor (미세분진 및 냄새제거 효율향상을 위한 선회류식 세정전해 기술개발)

  • According to Indoor Air Quality(IAQ) management law for multi-use buildings, SEEONE CO., Ltd. made pilot and tested it to remove minute particle, odor, VOCs, etc. within the standards of IAQ. This pilot made by SEEONE CO., Ltd. is vortex scrubber washing electrolyzed water. As 30 minutes test result in multi-use building indoor place, minute particle(the smoke of a cigarette) was reduced $920{\mu}g/m^3{\rightarrow}112{\mu}g/m^3$, gaseous contaminants was reduced Formaldehyde (HCHO) 20ppm$\rightarrow$4ppm, Ammonia($NH_3$) 50ppm$\rightarrow$1ppm, Trimethylamine ($(CH_3CH_2)_3N$) 15ppm$\rightarrow$trace, Methylethylketone($CH_3COC_2H_5$) 25ppm$\rightarrow$trace, Acetic acid ($CH_3COOH$) 20ppm$\rightarrow$trace, Acetaldehyde($CH_3CHO$) 15ppm$\rightarrow$2ppm and Acetone($CH_3COCH_3$) 50ppm$\rightarrow$N.D. The pilot test result of the air filter using electroyzed water in vortex scrubber showed high removal efficiency. Because purified air maintain indoor humidity of approximately 40~60%, so users can feel pleasant. In E.coli, S.aureus sterilization test and CODcr, turbidity treatment test by electrolysis, germs was sterilized over 99.99% and CODcr and turbidity was decreased gradually. So water used for washing can be reused by electrolysis.

고효율 자외선/광촉매 시스템을 이용한 고농도 유기성 폐수처리

  • Food wastewater derived from three-stages methane fermentation system showed high concentrations of sCOD, T-N and $NH_{3}-N$. To treat the organic wastewater, the optimal operating conditions for high efficiency $UV/TiO_{2}$ photocotalytic system have been investigated. In the first process, wastewater was pre-treated with $FeCl_{3}. The optimum pH and concentration for coagulation were 4.0 and 2000 mg/L, respectively. Through this process, 52.6% of $COD_{cr}$ was removed. The second process was $UV/TiO_{2}$ photocatalytic reaction. The optimum conditions for the operation of $UV/TiO_{2}$ photocatalytic system developed in this lab have been studied. In this process, CODcr was removed from 2890 to 184 mg/L and T-N was removed from 2496 to 914 for 24 hours, respectively.

The Development of Treatment System for Removing the Low Concentrated Nitrogen and Phosphorus Using Phototrophic Bacteria and Media (광합성 박테리아 및 담체를 이용한 하천의 저농도 질소, 인 처리 시스템 개발)

  • We used phototrophic bacteria to remove low concentrated organic materials (CODCr), nitrogen and phosphorus. We applied $COD_{Cr}$ 37.3 mg/L, $NH_3-N$ 4.0 mg/L, and $PO_4^{3-}-P$ 1.0 mg/L (C:N:P=100:10:1) in the batch test, and the removal efficiencies were shown as follow: $COD_{Cr}$ 87.4%, $NH_3-N$ 46.3%, $PO_4^{3-}-P$ 79.7%. The aerobic process with mixed phototrophic bacteria, ceramic media, and media KSP01 showed the removal efficiencies of $COD_{Cr}$, $NH_3-N$, and $PO_4^{3-}-P$, each as 72.7% and 79.2%, respectively in the lab-scale reactor. The maximum $PO_4^{3-}-P$ removal efficiency reached 92.6% by adjusting pH. There were three conditions used to remove $NH_3-N$. The highest removal efficiency was 98.5% with 10.2 L/min of aeration in 1-2 reactors, and the result of applying river-water showed the high removal efficiency of $NH_3-N$ (82.8%). Therefore, this purification system may be useful to control nitrogen and phosphorus at low concentration in field.

  • This study is about the implementation of low energy sewage management technology through effective control of blower which consumes the most energy in sewage treatment. In calculating the amount of oxygen required for microorganisms, unlike the existing method using the operating index in the bioreactor or TMS data in the discharge port, the CODcr and NH4+-N concentration changes in sewage flowing into the sewage treatment plant were detected in advance before entering the bioreactor and the amount of air was controlled based on this. The pre-sensing was found to have a high correlation compared with conventional products. As a result of blower control, it was possible to save about 9.9% energy more than the manual control. Consequently, this study suggested the possibility of blower's real-time control combined with pre-sensing technology. Also, it is expected that the low energy sewage treatment can be applied to sewage treatment facilities dependent on operation by manpower, and it will contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
