Water Quality Level of the Living Environmental Standards and Regression Analysis in the Major Tributaries of the Nakdong River (낙동강 주요 지류에서 생활환경 기준 수질 성분의 수질등급 및 회귀분석)

  • In this study, the water quality components (pH, BOD, COD, TOC, SS, DO, TP) and the water quality, observed for 10 years (2008~2017) in the five tributaries of the Nakdong River with the highest flow rates, were analyzed. Monthly levels of the water quality components were estimated and regression functions were used to quantitatively explain the changes in the BOD and COD components, with respect to the TOC components. The results of analyzing the water quality levels in terms of the living environmental standards show that the lowest water quality was observed midstream (ST-3) and the highest water quality was observed upstream (ST-1 and ST-2). The regression function was estimated to be a linear function in all five tributaries, and the goodness of fit of the function was high upstream (ST-2), midstream (ST-3), and downstream (ST-4). According to the regression analysis using the observation data from 2008~2017, we found that the consumption of dissolved oxygen increased with an increase in organic matter in the major tributaries of the Nakdong River.

A Study on the Removal of Nitrogen and Phosphorus of Municipal Wastewater with Biological Coated Media (미생물 코팅 담체를 이용한 하수의 질소$\cdot$인 제거에 관한 연구)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the removal of nitrogen and phosphorus in municipal sewage depending on existence of biological coated media in BCM reactor. The reactor with biological coated media is the process combining $A_2/O$ process. The removal efficiencies for $COD_{Mn},\; BOD_5,\;SS$, T-N and T-P were $78\%,\;90.5\%,\;92.3\%,\;61.9\%,\;60.2\%$, respectively. The specific nitrification rate$(mgNO_3-N/gMLSS{\cdot}d)$ of Contact aeration basin was 52.2 and the specific denitrification rate$(mgNO_3N/gMLSS{\cdot}d)$ in anoxic basin was 95.1. Also, phosphorus release$(mgPO_4-P/gMLSS{\cdot}d)$ in Anaerobic basin was 71.8 and Phosphorus uptake$(mgPO_4-P/gMLSS{\cdot}d)$ in contact aeration was 27.1.

  • I investigated the processing-treatment of livestocks feces and body wastes in Tok- ushima prefecture, and made clear the problems relative to its influence to environments. Nowadays the load of pollution of the m is as following. COD P livestock 8.8% 38.5% body wastes 1,2 4.5 As for the livestock feces, the method of evaporation-permeation is more general than that of oxidation process because of costs. Another way is that the dung will be changed into the compost. However as these methods pollute environments remarkably, a large-scale digesting process is being planned. In case of the processing of body wastes, costs for the processing plant tend to increase to the highest level in accordance with the strong power inhabitants. In all processing, we suffer from a large amount of economical loads.

Develoment of the Control System against Shrimp Viral Disease (바이러스성 새우질병 방제법의 개발)

  • In order'to reduce loss of shrimp productivity by viral diseases on the cultured shrimp, we were develope the effective shrimp virus control system. Virus is inactivated by above 5 ppm of chloride and treatment of 50% fresh water. Mortality of infected shrimp is decreased by feeding of immunostimulants such as peptidoglycan and schizophyllan. Mg(OH)$_2$ was one of improvement agents which have best effect on pH, ignition loss(IL), chemical oxidation demand(COD) and total sulfide of water and sediment of shrimp farm.

  • In order to treat the dyeing wastewater, the UV/TiO₂/H₂O₂ system was investigated, and proper pretreatment methods were examined to reduce the load on the system considering economical and technical efficiency. The results of this study were as follows: 1.UV/TiO₂/H₂O₂ system with pretreatment process was adopted, the result of Chemical coagulation and pH control units was pH 11→ coagulation → pH 4 and the optimum dosage of FeCl₃ was 600㎎/ℓ 2. Proper dosage of TiO₂in the UV/TiO₂/H₂O₂ system with pretreatment process was 2g/ℓ and H₂O₂ was 1000㎎/ℓ, UV contact time was 20min to get below 200㎎/ℓ of $COD_{Cr}$

  • The permeate flux was lower when PAC was added compared to without PAC system. It can be concluded that PAC is cause of membrane fouling. The effect of flow volume was found not significant for the three samples. But it was shown high rejection rate due to adsorption of organic matter to PAC in the case of adding PAC.

  • Efficient using of web cache is becoming important factor that decide system management efficiency in web-Based system. Cache performance depends heavily on replacement algorithms, which dynamically select a suitable subset of objects for caching in a finite space. However, replacement algorithm on web cache has many differences than traditional replacement algorithm. In this paper, a web-caching algorithm is proposed for efficient operation of web base system. The algorithm is designed based on a divided scope that considered size reference characteristic and heterogeneity on web object. The performance of the algorithm is analyzed with an experiment. With the experiment results, the algorithm is compared with previous replacement algorithms, and its performance is confirmed ith an improvement of response speed.

Theoretical Analysis for Nitrogen Removal in Step Feed Oxic-Anoxic-Oxic Process

  • One of the popular domestic sewage treatment process (called step feed oxic-anoxic-oxic process) for nitrogen removal was analyzed in this study by theoretical analysis based on the nitrification and denitrification reaction. Total nitrogen removal efficiency was suggested by considering influent qualities(i.e., ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, alkalinity, and COD). Total nitrogen removal efficiency depends on r (influent allocation ratio). In the case that all influent components are enough, the total nitrogen removal follows equation 100-b/(1+b), when r is 1/(1+b). Finally, it can be concluded that step feed oxic-anoxic-oxic process could be effective for nitrogen removal.

  • 본 연구에서는 팔당호에 유입되는 북한강, 남한강, 경안천의 6개 지류에 대하여 2009년 6월부터 12월까지 10일 주기로 현장 측정한 10개의 수질평가 항목과 측정시기에 근접한 4장의 시계열 위성영상에 의한 수질분석 기법을 이용하여 RS/GIS에 의한 수질환경 모니터링을 실시하였다. 현장에서는 다항목 수질측정기(DS5, Hydrolab ; 센서장착포트 7개, 측정항목 : 수온, 탁도, EC, LDO)를 이용하였고, 채수를 통해 실내에서 T-N, T-P, BOD, COD, ph, 부유물질(이하, SS)을 측정하였다. 위성영상에 의한 수질인자는 수온, 탁도, SS 등을 선정하여 자료의 정성적 해석을 통해 팔당호의 수질환경 모니터링을 수행하였다. 또한, 위성영상으로 분석한 수질평가 자료는 현장자료와의 상관성을 검토하였으며 회귀분석을 실시하여 수질인자별 분포도를 작성하였다.

  • To build environmentally friendly highways, we testes suitability for unique characteristics of pollution mitigation facility around the highways by evaluating optimal selections and implementation methodologies to minimize loan of non-point pollution substances into water-ways. To do this we categorized EIA target highways into three types ; big drainage basin, small drainage basin, and bridge section as to minimize non-point pollution of highway runoff. The terms of selected facility test based on the Natural and Manufactured Treatment Device were removal efficiency of TSS, BOD, COD, T-N, T-P, compatibility of site selection, economic feasibility, maintenance convenience, and the final mitigation facility.
