CNC 공작기계 스프레쉬 가드의 안전성을 위한 충격 시험에 대한 유한요소법 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on Application of Finite Element Method to the Impact test for the Safety of the Splash Guard of a CNC Machine Tool)

  • This study addresses the issue of safety of the splash guard of a computer numerical control (CNC) machine tool at the design stage. As an impact test for evaluating safety requirements such as strength under the safety regulation is an expensive and iterative task, it is necessary to develop a new method to minimize the task of the impact test for development of the machine tool. In this study, explicit finite element method was adopted for replacement of the impact test of the splash guard of a machine tool at the design stage. A finite element model was developed for implementing the impact test on an actual vertical CNC lathe and then produced the analysis including plastic strain and deformation to enable the safety of its splash guard to be determined. The analysis results demonstrated that the finite element method can be applied to safety evaluation for design of the splash guard of a CNC machine tool.

축 수직단면 형상정의에 대한 대형 스크류의 가공시 공구간섭검사 (Tool interference check in machining of large screws defined by cross-section view)

  • In machining screws which are important members in mono pumps or progressive cavity pumps CNC turning center with 3 axes is usually used. This sort of screw machining requires large amount of CL data points and rotational tools are used in machining. When working out the CL data points consideration of possible tool interference is important in order to avoid undercut. This paper describes the checking methods of tool interference in the screw machining on the CNC turning center. First of all a specific shape of a screw cross-section that could commonly be applied to all screws was chosen and then possible tool interference associated with that shape was identified. Checking method was mathematically developed and verified. This checking method will be utilized in the CAM system developed by the authors for screw machining on the 3-axis CNC turning center.

  • 최근 정밀기계, 전기전자, 반도체 등의 급속한 산업의 발달로 전장장치의 고정밀도 가공의 필요성이 증대하고 있다. 작업자의 감각과 경험에 의존하던 절삭 공작기계 제어는 CNC(Computerized Numeric Controller: 컴퓨터 수치제어) 도입으로 가공 정밀도가 획기적으로 개선되고 있다. 또한 공작 기계의 운전 상태를 실시간 반영하는 가공 동특성(cutting dynamics)기법이 관심을 받고 있다. 본 논문은 CNC 공작기계에 음향센서를 부착하여 공구떨림 감지 및 안정화하는 방안을 제시한다. 공구 이송 위치와 음향센서 데이터를 동기화 하고 수집된 음향 주파수에서 이상 진동음에 대한 주파수를 분석하여 떨림을 감지한다. 또한 가공 동특성 기법을 적용하여 공구떨림 감지와 안정화의 신뢰성을 높인다. 제안한 기법은 금형 가공의 공구떨림 안정화 전후 가공 표면조도의 향상 관점에서 분석 평가한다.

유전 알고리즘을 이용한 공구 수명 예측 최적화 (Optimization of the Tool Life Prediction Using Genetic Algorithm)

  • 최근 금형산업과 다양한 산업에서 사용되고 있는 CNC 공작기계는 제품 공정 증가에 따라 작업효율, 생산 품질과 작업자의 안전성이 중요해지고 있다. 특히 4차 산업으로 산업구조가 바뀜에 따라 CNC 공작기계는 기존의 고정밀, 고능률화를 넘어 ICT 스마트 가공에 대한 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이에 CNC 절삭가공 시 생산제품의 품질을 균일하게 하고 재현성을 향상시키기 위한 다양한 공구 수명 예측 연구가 진행되어 왔다. 이러한 과정에서 기존의 확장된 Taylor 공구 수명식을 이용하여 공구 수명을 예측하였을 경우 예측결과와 실제 실험 결과와의 오차가 상당하다. 이에 본 논문에서는 공구 수명 관련 가공 실험을 통해 공구 수명에 대한 데이터를 확보 한 후 이를 기초로 유전알고리즘을 이용하여 최적의 공구 수명 매개변수를 추정하였다. 이때 공구 수명에 관련하여 공구 마모 관련 정보를 삽입하여 공구 마모량에 따른 공구 수명을 정확하게 예측할 수 있도록 구성하였으며, 이를 통해 공구 수명식을 보다 정확하게 최적화할 수 있도록 하였다.

  • CNC Grinding Center is developed to improve the flexibility of grinding process and to obtain the high machine accuracy in grinding processes.   • In order to suggest the proper optimal conditions of the CNC milling machining for the Thin-wall surface, some experiments were carried out. The process was applied in the aerospace industry for the machining of light alloys, notably aluminium. In recent year, however, the mold and die industry has begun to use the technology for the production of components, including those manufactured from hardened tool steels. And the end mill is an important tool in the milling process. A typical example for the end mill is the milling of pocket and slot in which a lot of material is removed from the workpiece. Therefore the proper selection of cutting parameter for end milling is one of the important factors affecting the cutting cost. In this paper, we choose the optimal parameters(cutting forces) to cut thin-walled Al part by experiment.

산업용로보트와 CNC 공작기계를 위한 소프트웨어 가감속 방법 (Software Acceleration/Deceleration Methods for Industrial Robots and CNC Machine Tools)

  • In this paper, we propose software algorithms which provide acceleration/deceleration characteristics essential to high dynamic performance at the transient states where industrial robots or CNC machine tools start and stop. Software acceleration/deceleration methods are derived from the mathematical analyses of typical hardware systems controlling acceleration/deceleration. These methods make servo motors, which drive axes of motion, start and stop smoothly without vibration in the repeated tools. The path error, which is one of the most significant factors in the performance evaluation of industrial robots or CNC machine tools, is analyzed for linear, exponential, and parabolic acceleration/deceleration algorithms in case of circular interpolation. The analyses show that path error consists of the distance between the required path and generated one through acceleration/deceleration, and that between the generated one through acceleration/deceleration algorithm and the actual one of the end effector of the industrial robot or tool of the CNC equipment.

  • Cim realization for the machinery manufacturing plant has several problems such as a lack of the adaptibity for system integration of the production machines, a lack of the flexibility for the information flow and a lack of the interchangeability fot the variety of the interchange information. In the paper the development of VMD for the object oriented machine tool in Cim enviroment is accomplised. FOr this purpose VMD is constructed in PC with NT 3.51/OS enviroment by using the exculsive comunication board and PLC for the conventional CNC machine tool that VMD support is not available. And also RS232 interface between VMD and CNC's and DNC 2 comunication board supplied by FANUC for two types of CNC are used. This developed VMD is very useful for CIM construction in the shop floor having the multi-vendor CNC controllers.

Ball link bar를 이용한 CNC 공작 기계의 정밀도 계측과 해석에 관한 연구 (Measurement and analysis of CNC machine tool errors using ball link bar system)

  • In this paper, a method has been proposed for error measurement/diagnosis of CNC machine tools using the ball link bar on three dimensional space. For the circular motion error measurement, deviation between the desired and actual test path has been measured and analysed using a new type of ball link which incorporates ideal three point contact between reference balls and sockets. Computer program for the error evaluation has been developed and implemented under PC environment. Using the developed program, the circular test data on a CNC machine tool have been analysed, and thus, machine tool errors were effectively evaluated.
