  • In this paper, we propose a new robot cleaning algorithm, which we call SetClean. The new algorithm cleans from the most less complex area. Sometimes, when the cleaning completion time can be longer or can not be estimated, cleaning larger area first is better than optimizing the whole time for cleaning. To do this, SetClean algorithm divides the whole area into cleanable sub-areas using Set Cover algorithm and cleans the area in the order of high efficiency that maximize the cleanable area per unit time. SetClean algorithm decides the navigation flow by considering not only the size of the area but also the distance from the current robot location to the area to be cleaned and the delay time caused by the number of turns within the area. The experimental results show the mechanism and performance of the SetClean algorithm.

  • In this paper, we propose a method for applying the CLEAN algorithm to an minimum variance distortionless response(MVDR) to estimate the location of multiple targets distributed in the ocean. The CLEAN algorithm is easy to implement in a linear processor, yet not in a nonlinear processor. In the proposed method, the CSDM of a Dirty map is separated into the CSDM of a Clean beam and the CSDM of the Residual, then an individual ambiguity surface(AMS) is generated. As such, the CLEAN algorithm can be applied to an MVDR, a nonlinear processor. To solve the ill-conditioned problem related to the matrix inversiion by an MVDR when using the CLEAN algorithm, Singular value decomposition(SVD) is carried out, then the reciprocal of small eigenvalues is replaced with zero. Experimental results show that the proposed method improves the performance of an MVDR.

  • Microphone array techniques are being used widely in wind tunnel measurements for identification of the distributed aerodynamic noise sources on the model being tested. Depending on the frequencies and sound levels, conventional beamforming algorithm has limitation in separating two adjacent sources. Several modifications to the classical beamforming have been developed to enhance way resolution and reduce sidelobe levels. In this Paper the robust adaptive beamforming and the CLEAN algorithm are used to compare to the result of conventional beamforming method. It is found that the CLEAN algorithm is capable of pin-pointing locations of multiple sources nearby, while these sources are unidentifiable with robust adaptive or conventional beamforming techniques.

  • This paper presents a force model of the clean tube system, which was developed as a means for transferring the air-floated wafers inside the closed tube filled with the super clean air. The recovering force from the holes for floating wafers is modeled as a linear spring and thus the wafer motion is modeled as a mass-spring-damper system. The propelling forces are modeled as linear along with the wafer location. The paper also proposes the control method to emit and stop a wafer at the center of a control unit. It shows the minimum value of the propelling force to leave from the control unit. In order to stop the wafer, it utilizes the exact time when a wafer arrives at the position to activate the propelling force. Experiments with the clean tube system built for 12 inch wafer shows the validity of the proposed model and the algorithm.

  • We propose a moire artifacts removal algorithm for screen-shot images using multiple domain learning. First, we estimate clean preliminary images by exploiting complementary information of the moire artifacts in pixel value and frequency domains. Next, we estimate a clean edge map of the input moire image by developing a clean edge predictor. Then, we refine the pixel and frequency domain outputs to further improve the quality of the results using the estimated edge map as the guide information. Finally, the proposed algorithm obtains the final result by merging the two refined results. Experimental results on a public dataset demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms conventional algorithms in quantitative and qualitative comparison.

  • People have been using more energy in the last years. Several research studies were conducted to develop sustainable energy sources that can produce clean energy to fulfill our energy requirements. Using renewable energy sources helps to decrease the harm to the environment caused by conventional power plants. Choosing the right location and capacity for DG-RESs can greatly impact the performance of Radial Distribution Systems. It is beneficial to have a good and stable electrical power supply with low energy waste and high effectiveness because it improves the performance and reliability of the system. This research investigates the ideal location and size for solar and wind power systems, which are popular methods for producing clean electricity. A new artificial intelligent algorithm called Nutcracker Optimization Algorithm (NOA) is used to find the best solution in two common electrical systems named IEEE 33 and 69 bus systems to examine the improvement in the efficiency & reliability of power system network by reducing power losses, making voltage deviation smaller, and improving voltage stability. Finally, the NOA method is compared with another method called PSO and developed Hybrid Algorithm (NOA+PSO) to validate the proposed algorithm effectiveness and enhancement of both efficiency and reliability aspects.

  • In this paper we present a cleaning robot system for an autonomous mobile robot. Our robot performs goal reaching tasks into unknown indoor environments by using sensor fusion. The robot's operation objective is to clean floor or any other applicable surface and to build a map of the surrounding environment for some further purpose such as finding the shortest path available. Using its cleaning robot system for an autonomous mobile robot can move in various modes and perform dexterous tasks. Performance of the cleaning robot system is better than a fixed base redundant robot in avoiding singularity and obstacle. Sensor fusion using the clean robot improves the performance of the robot with redundant freedom in workspace and Map-Building. In this paper, Map-building of the cleaning robot has been studied using sensor fusion. A sequence of this alternating task execution scheme enables the clean robot to execute various tasks efficiently. The proposed algorithm is experimentally verified and discussed with a cleaning robot, KCCR.

  • This paper proposes a local improvement method that combines extended topological clean up and optimization-based smoothing for homogenizing triangular grid system. First extended topological clean up procedures are applied to improve the connectivities of grid elements. Then, local optimization-based smoothing is performed for maximizing the distortion metric that measures grid quality. Using the local improvement strategy, we implement the grid homogenizations for two triangular grid examples. It is shown that the suggested algorithm improves the quality of the triangular grids to a great degree in an efficient manner and also can be easily applied to the remeshing algorithm in adaptive mesh refinement technique.
