Evaluation of Stability of CLC through Strength and Reduction of Drying Shrinkage (강도 및 건조수축 저감을 통한 CLC의 안정성 평가)

  • This study intends to conduct tests on subsidence and drying shrinkage by mixing CaO-CSA expansion materials to ensure the stability of CLC, and to understand its properties. Based on CLC of 0.6, the replacement ratio of CaO-CSA expansion material was conducted at five levels compared to blast furnace slag, and the results are as follows. The replacement of CaO-CSA expansion material at an appropriate level produces ethringhite and potassium hydroxide, and it is believed that the internal voids of CLC and the Tobelmorite interlayer structure are charged to increase the structural stability, leading to an increase in compressive strength and a decrease in the drying shrinkage. However, it is judged that tissue relaxation due to excessive substances in the high replacement ratio affects the stability of CLC. In the future, we will conduct additional experiments on density, absorption rate, flow test, and settlement, and evaluate and analyze the stability of CLC by selecting the optimal replacement ratio of CaO-CSA expansion materials.

Effect of Chitosan-Liquid Calcium Addition on the Quality of Kimchi during Fermentation (키토산-액상칼슘 첨가 김치의 숙성 중 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effect of chitosan-liquid calcium (CLC) on the high-calcium kimchi fermentation. The $0.5\%$ of CLC retarded the decreasing rate of pH and the increasing rate of titratable acidity, and these effects were more conspicuous with liquid calcium. Total microbes and lactic acid bacteria counts were lower in CLC $(0.5\%)$ added kimchi during fermentation. The a-value of kimchi juice was gradually increased but the L- and b-values were decreased. The calcium content of the kimchi supplemented with $0.5\%$ of CLC was maintained in the range of $207\~228\;mg\%$. In sensory evaluation test of $0.5\%$ CLC-added kimchi, the staled flavor was decreased, the crispness was maintained and the overall taste was increased to highest level after 15-day fermentation.

An Experimental Study on Resistance of rapid Freezing and Thawing of Chloride-inhibiting Low-Heat Cement (차염성 저발열시멘트의 급속동결융해 저항성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This study was conducted to assess the durability of Chloride-inhibiting Low-Heat Cement while being subjected to freezing-thawing during winter seasons. Although durability varies slightly depending on the conditions of the jobsite, frost damage to concrete resulting from repeated freezing and thawing over the course of seasonal changes is the leading cause behind lowered concrete durability. in addition, concrete that has been subjected to freezing and thawing during the winter season develops a significant amount of expansive force at the core and begins to exhibit signs of damage, such as cracking, peeling, and detachment from the aggregate. Therefore, this study fabricated test specimens using a Chloride-inhibiting Low-Heat Cement(CLC) and the widely used blast furnace slag cement(BFS) and Ordinary Portland Cement(OPC) with water-to-cement ratios of 35%, 40% and 45%, respectively, to assess the durability index of the CLC as per resistance to freezing-thawing. The specimens were then tested using the KS F 2456 method (Testing method for resistance of concrete to rapid freezing and thawing) to measure the dynamic modulus of elasticity. The dynamic modulus of elasticity measurements were then used to derive the durability indices. By comparing the durability indices, it was confirmed that CLC, BFS, and OPC all had superior durability.

Photodynamic Therapy Using Topically Applied 5-ALA, MAL and CLC for Canine Otitis Externa

  • Canine otitis externa is a common disorder in small animal practice with prevalence up to 20%. In a large percentage of cases, canine otitis externa is a chronic and recurrent disease also associated with drug-resistant bacteria that is difficult to treat with traditional antibiotics. Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a new strategy to exterminate pathogenic microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of photodynamic therapy against canine otitis externa using three photosensitizer (PS); 5-Aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA) and Methyl aminolevulinic acid (MAL) with semiconductor laser diode (SLD, 635nm of wave length), Chlorophyll-lipoid complex (CLC) with light-emitting diode (LED, 660nm of wave length). After PDT, dogs showed improved Otitis Index Score (OTIS) in swelling, exudate, odor, and pain. A result of the cytology test revealed decrease of bacteria and malassezia count in the oil immersion field and colony forming units count. PDT was effective as a bacteriocide of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus pseudintermedius (MRSP) and a fungicide of Malassezia pachydermatis. MAL and 5-ALA were more effective PS against canine otitis externa than CLC. These results suggest that PDT is a new strategy to exterminate pathogenic microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi. PDT can be considered as a new therapeutic approach for canine recurrent otitis externa and a countermeasure to drug resistance that is a disadvantage of traditional antibiotic and antifungal therapy.

  • 본 연구는 LCD 화질의 중요 Issue중 하나인 고속 응답 속도를 달성하기 위해 액정의 물성 및 TFT 구조 그리고 구동회로에 있어 필요한 조건을 찾기 위한 연구로서 응답속도에 관련된 주요 인자 중 특히 pixel에 인가되는 전압에 관련된 구동회로 조건과 TFT 구조에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 소비전류 Issue가 없는 Monitor 향 제품과 달리 Note 향 LCD 제품의 경우 액정의 유전율을 상승시켜 고속응답을 달성하고 있는데 이로 인해 Cst/Clc의 비율이 응답속도의 중요 인자로 작용하며 이에 최적 응답속도 달성을 위한 Cst/Clc 비율을 시뮬레이션 및 Test SPL 제작을 통해 제안하며 실제 pixel에 인가되는 Offset 전압에 의한 응답속도 유의차 및 Cusp 현상에 대해 논하였다

An Experimental Study on the Consolidation Characteristics with Loading Rate (재하속도에 따른 압밀특성에 관한 실험적 고찰)

  • The purpose of this study is to establish a proper criterion for the constant rate of loading consolidation(CRLC) test which is a kind of the continuous loading consolidation(CLC) and widely used as alternative methods to the incremental loading consolidation(ILC)test. With those results, the preconsolidation pressure estimated by the CRLC test turned out to be comparatively larger than that of the ILC test, and it is increased in proportion to the applied loading rates. However, the compression index in the CRLC test is less influenced on by the loading rates. The coefficient of consolidation and permeability in the CRLC test are dependent on excess pore pressure ratio mainly. In other words, if the pore pressure ratios are too low, the coefficient of consolidation and permeability become smaller than those of the ILC test. On the other hand, if the excess pore pressure ratios are too high, the coefficient of consolidation and permeability become so larger than those of the ILC test. Therefore, loading rates should be carefully determined to generate proper excess pore pressure ratio inside the soil specimen. From this study, good results are obtained from the CRLC test if the excess pore pressure ratios were in the range of 2.5 to 6.0 %, performed with loading rates between 0.0015 and 0.005 $kgf/cm^2/min$.

Undrained Creep Rupture of an Anisotropically Normally Consolidated Clay (이방정규압밀점토의 비배수크리프 파양)

  • The Undrained creep tests on the normally consolidated clays with four different consolication ratios(c3c'/clc': 1.0, 0.7, 0.5, 0.4) were performed to investigate the effects of avisotropic consolidation on the undrained creep rupture behavior. The elapsed time to a certain minimum strain rate is decreased with decreasing the value of the consolidation pressure ratio, and the elapsed time to rupture for a certain minimum strain rate is also decreased with decreasing the ratio. The upper yield strength obtained from the equation suggested by Finn and Shead(1.) is coincided well with the creep strength irrespective of the magnitude of the consolidation pressure ratio, and the normallised upper yielding strength by mean confining pressure is decreased with increasing the consolidation pressure ratio. The critical strain for creep rupture, the strain at min. strain rate, is constant irrespective of the magnitude of creep stress, but it increased exponentially with increasing the ratio, It accordingly is dangerous that the potential of in-situ creep rupture is estimated only by the creep rupture test on the isotropically consolidated clay in case of K0-value below 1.0.

  • 지난 수년간 유럽을 중심으로 Carbonate의 PSD (Particle Size Distribution)가 도공지 의 백색도, 불투명도, Coverage등에 미치는 영향에 대하여 많은 연구가 진행되어 왔다. 현재 국내의 Coating Pigment System 역시 Carbonate 위주로 구성되어 있으나, 입자 분포에 따른 실증적 연구가 선진국에 비하여 부족한 상태이다. 본 연구는 최근 유럽에서 사용 중인 Narrow PSD Carbonate가 도공지 품질에 미치는 영향을 검토한 것으로서, 특히 Multiple Coating에서의 도공층 구조변화와 그에 따른 백지물성 및 인쇄적성의 변화를 연구한 것이다. 실험의 Case는 Broad PSD CaC03와 Narrow PSD CaC03를 비 교하였 다 .. Color F Formulation은 Pre Color에서 #1 Clay 30 p따t와 각각 CaC03 70 p따t를 사용하였다. 그리고 바인더와 첨가제는 동일하게 사용하였다 .. Top color Formulation 또한 동일하 게 사용하였다. 코팅방식은 speed 450rrνmin, pre rod coating, top blade coating 방식 으로 CLC (Cy lindrical Laboratory Coater)를 사용하여 코팅하였다. 백지품질은 백색도, 평활도 ,광택도, 거칠음도, Bum Out Test와 Coverage( SEM 사 진 Z -direction) 등을 측정하였다. 인쇄품질은 인쇄 광택도, 인쇄 Picking strength와 2 도 인쇄 농도를 측정하였다. 백색도는 Narrow PSD CaC03를 사용한 것이 Broad PSD CaC03를 사용한 것 대비 약1% 우수하였다. 이것은 Narrow PSD CaC03를 사용한 것이 filter cake이 많이 open 되 어 있어 dewatering이 빠르고, Wet void volume이 증가되 어 부동화점 의 농도가 낮 아져 원지 층으로 침 투되 는 pigment가 작고 표층에 잔류하는 pigment와 void volume의 증가로 인해 기공층이 증가한 것으로 판단된다. 그리고, 백지광택도, 거칠음도 등 또한 Narrow PSD CaC03를 사용한 것이 우수하였 다. 이는 Pre color에서 coverage의 개선으로 top color층의 도공량 uniformity가 개선 된 이유라고 생각한다. 그러나 인쇄품질은 백지와 비교하여 차이가 없었다. 이것은 top 칼라 Formulation이 동일하고, 인쇄시 잉크흡수 거동은 top color 층에 주로 영향을 받기 때문이라고 판단 된다. 향후에는 인쇄품질의 향상을 위하여 Case 2의 CaC03 100% 사용가능성 및 Pre Color 는 Case 2로 고정하고, Top칼라를 변경하는 방법을 또한 생각할 필요가 있다고 판단된다.

Effect of H2S on Reactivity of Oxygen Carrier Particle for Chemical Looping Combustion (매체순환연소용 산소전달입자의 반응성에 미치는 H2S의 영향)

  • Effect of $H_2S$ on reactivity of oxygen carrier was measured and discussed using fluidized bed reactor and SDN70 oxygen carrier. We could get 100% of fuel conversion and $CO_2$ selectivity even though $H_2S$ containing simulated syngas was used as fuel for reduction. Absorbed sulfur was released during oxidation and $N_2$ purge step after oxidation as $SO_2$ form. We could get 100% of fuel conversion and $CO_2$ selectivity during cyclic reduction-oxidation tests up to 10th cycle. However, only 6~7% of sulfur can be removed during oxidation and $N_2$ purge step and 93~94% of sulfur was accumulated in the oxygen carrier. Therefore we could conclude that total removal of sulfur was not possible. $SO_2$ emission during oxidation decreased as the number of cycle increased. Therefore we could expect that the reactivity of oxygen carrier will be decreased with time.
