Hybrid of SA and CG Methods for Designing the Ka-Band Group-Delay Equalized Filter (Ka-대역 군지연-등화 여파기용 SA 기법과 CG 기법의 하이브리드 설계 기법)

  • This paper describes the realization of the Ka-band group-delay equalized filter desisted with the help of a new hybrid method of Simulated Annealing(SA) and Conjugate Gradient(CG), to be employed by the multi-channel Input Multiplexer for a satellite use, each channel of which comprises a channel filter and a group-delay equalizer. The SA and CG find circuit parameters of an 8th order elliptic function filter and a 2-pole equalizer, respectively. Measurement results demonstrate that the performances of the designed component meet the specifications, and validate the design methods.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate preferences for spatial composition by urban design guidelines of detached housing areas using CG simulation, with the aim of contributing to the improvement and management of residential townscapes. The list of urban design guidelines for detached housing areas was derived from an analysis of urban design guidelines and landscape regulations from the U.S.A, Japan, and Korea. These guidelines comprise building guidelines, landscape guidelines, street guidelines, and sign guidelines. Through the preferences revealed by CG simulation, an optimum presentation method for the urban design guidelines was determined. Based on the results of preferences, an appropriate management system and regulation standards were proposed. In conclusion, the efforts carried out on the study and legislation of a management system and regulation standards for the urban design guideline will accomplish the amenity of residential environments.

  • 본 논문에서는 CC-NUMA 시스템인 고성능 멀티미디어 서버(MX Server)상에서 다중 스레드 프로세스의 CG(CPU Group) 바인딩 설계 및 구현 내용을 소개한다. 고성능 멀티미디어 서버의 컴퓨팅 서버용 운영체제인 COSMIX(cache COherent Shared Memory unIX)에서는 서버의 플랫폼에 알맞은 하드웨어 및 시스템 관련하여 CC-NUMA 시스템에 적합한 운영체제 기능을 설계하였다. 고성능 멀티미디어 서버에서는 데이터의 지역성을 고려하여 한 노드인 CG에 프로세스를 바인드 하는 기능이 있으나, 다중 스레드로 구성된 프로세스의 바인딩 기능은 없었다. Oracle8i와 같은 인터넷 DBMS에서는 하나의 프로세스내의 다중 스레드가 일정한 노드의 디스크를 점유하여 사용할 수 있으므로 이와 같은 다중 스레드의 프로세스를 해당 디스크가 있는 하나의 CG에 바인딩 하는 기능이 필요하다. 현재는 가용한 플랫폼이 없어서 MX Server 대신 PC 태스트베드인 CC-NUMA 시스템 시뮬레이션 환경에서 다중 스레드의 CG 바인딩 기능을 구현하고 그 시험을 완료하였다.

  • These days, interior construction is performed to prevent the deterioration of old building finishings or to make distinctive designs. In case of interior construction, a construction cost is estimated through basic 2D drawings in the design step. Accordingly, an efficient construction plan and direction is established according to budget. In such a case, construction is dependent on 2D drawings. At that time, a risk can occur easily. This study is aimed at reducing the cost and risk of interior construction by implementing 3D drawings with the use of the visual data of 2D drawings. For accurate analysis, 2D drawings were completed, and then 3D interior construction modeling for various buildings was conducted with the 3D modeling software 3D Max. According to the 3D modeling, it reduced the cost and risk more than 2D drawings based design, and influenced the improvement in the understanding of orderers and workers.

  • 3D Spatial Data, namely 3D Urban CG model express the building, road, river in virtual world and accumulate, manage the data in the GIS system. It is important infrastructure which expected in many usages. Recently 3D CG urban model needs much manual effort, time and costs to build them. In this paper, we introduce the integration of GIS, CG and automatic production of the $\lceil$3D Spatial Data Infrastructure$\rfloor$. This system make filtering, divide the polygon, generate the outlines of the GIS building map, design the graphic and property information and finally make automatic 3D CG models.

Preliminary Design of Human Powered Aircraft by the Consideration of Aerodynamic Performance (공기역학적 성능을 고려한 인간동력항공기 개념 설계)

  • In this study, preliminary design of human powered aircraft was performed by considering the aerodynamic performance. For this, overall weight including the aircraft and pilot was determined. Then, the main wing and horizontal/vertical tail were designed with appropriate selection of the airfoils and planform shapes. Based on these, three dimensional flow was calculated to obtain lift and drag coefficients and the position of center of gravity (CG). Consequently, it was shown that the lift and power of the aircraft satisfied the constraints of the minimum required lift and the pilot's available power. Also, the CG of the aircraft was located at aerodynamic center (AC) of the main wing, which guaranteed 26% of the static margin.

Multi-channel Transimpedance Amplifier Arrays in Short-Range LADAR Systems for Unmanned Vehicles (무인차량용 단거리 라이다 시스템을 위한 멀티채널 트랜스임피던스 증폭기 어레이)

  • This paper presents multi-channel transimpedance amplifier(TIA) arrays in short-range LADAR systems for unmanned vehicles, by using a 0.18um CMOS technology. Two $4{\times}4$ channel TIA arrays including a voltage-mode INV-TIA and a current-mode CG-TIA are introduced. First, the INV-TIA consists of a inverter stage with a feedback resistor and a CML output buffer with virtual ground so as to achieve low noise, low power, easy current control for gain and impedance. Second, the CG-TIA utilizes a bias from on-chip bandgap reference and exploits a source-follower for high-frequency peaking, yielding 1.26 times smaller chip area per channel than INV-TIA. Post-layout simulations demonstrate that the INV-TIA achieves 57.5-dB${\Omega}$ transimpedance gain, 340-MHz bandwidth, 3.7-pA/sqrt(Hz) average noise current spectral density, and 2.84mW power dissipation, whereas the CG-TIA obtains 54.5-dB${\Omega}$ transimpedance gain, 360-MHz bandwidth, 9.17-pA/sqrt(Hz) average noise current spectral density, and 4.24mW power dissipation. Yet, the pulse simulations reveal that the CG-TIA array shows better output pulses in the range of 200-500-Mb/s operations.

  • In this paper, we design a 256-bit EEPROM IP using only logic process-based devices. We propose EEPROM core circuits, a control gate (CG) and a tunnel gate (TG) driving circuit, to limit the voltages between the devices within 5.5V; and we propose DC-DC converters : VPP (=+4.75V), VNN (-4.75V), and VNNL (=VNN/3) generation circuit. In addition, we propose switching powers, CG_HV, CG_LV, TG_HV, TG_LV, VNNL_CG, VNNL_TG switching circuit, to be supplied for the CG and TG driving circuit. Simulation results under the typical simulation condition show that the power consumptions in the read, erase, and program mode are $12.86{\mu}W$, $22.52{\mu}W$, and $22.58{\mu}W$ respectively. Furthermore, the manufactured test chip operated normally and generated its target voltages of VPP, VNN, and VNNL as 4.69V, -4.74V, and -1.89V.

Correlation Analysis between Artists' Shading and CG Shading (미술가들의 음영 표현 특성과 CG 쉐이딩 알고리즘 간의 상관관계 분석)

  • Recently, several researchers have attempted to combine human visual perception and computer graphics. Cole et. al. suggest the study results in which line drawing algorithm in computer graphics characterize the properties of line drawing made by artists. The paper also evaluates CG line drawing algorithms depending on whether people recognize effectively specific 3D shape from the image made by those CG line drawing algorithms. However, human recognizes the shape of objects more effectively in image made by BRDF shading model than line drawing algorithm. It means that the shading factor is important to recognize shape with human perception. In this paper, we analyze the correlation between shading made by human artists and that made by CG shading algorithms. The study is to characterize the mathematical properties of artists' shading and CG shading. This type of analysis can guide the future development of new CG shading algorithm in computer graphics for the purpose of shape perception.

  • IETF에서 IPSec(Internet Protocol Security)[1]의 구조를 발표한 이래 IPSec을 이용한 많은 VPN(Virtual PrivateNetwork)[2][3]이 구축되어 왔다. 이렇게 구축된 VPN에서 사용되는 CG(CryptoGate) 혹은 SG(Security Gateway)는 각각의 망에서 게이트 역할을 한다. 하지만 이런 기존의 CG나 SG는 IPSec의 정책을 사용자가 선택하는 것이 아닌 망 관리자가 일방적으로 서비스하도록 설계되어있다. 이러한 점은 사용자가 자신의 데이터를 평가하여 자율적으로 그에 맞는 서비스를 이용하는 것이 아니므로 사용자가 사용하는 것을 꺼릴 수도 있다. 또한 게이트웨이에 자신의 키를 백업할 수 있도록 하여서 사용자가 다시 이 망에 접근할 경우 다시 키 협상을 하는 것이 아닌 백업해둔 키를 가지고 연결할 수 있도록 하였다. 본 논문은 VPN에서 이러한 점을 고려하여 CG를 설계함으로써 VPN 사용의 확장성을 해결한다.
