  • In this study, the numerical investigation of the non-linear behavior of the fluid flow with physical properties, such as porosity and intrinsic permeability of a porous medium, and kinematic viscosity of a fluid, are carried out. The applied numerical model is ANSYS CFX which is the three-dimensional fluid dynamics model and this model is verified through the application of existing physical and numerical results. As a result of the verification, the results of the pressure gradient-velocity relationship and the friction coefficient-Reynolds number relationship produced from this study show relatively good agreement with those from existing physical and numerical experiments. As a result of the simulation by changing the porosity and intrinsic permeability of a porous medium and the kinematic viscosity of a fluid, the kinematic viscosity has the biggest effect on the non-linear behavior of the fluid flow in the porous medium.

  • A direct, accurate and sensitive chromatographic analytical method for quantitative determination of four fluoroquinolones (norfloxacin, cirprofloxacin, danofloxacin and enrofloxacin) in chicken, pork and beef edible muscle is proposed in the present study. The developed method was successfully applied to the determination of enrofloxacin, as the main component of commercially available veterinary drugs. The samples were homogenized and the antimicrobials were added, then they were extracted twice with dichloromethane. Fluoroquinolone antibiotics were separated on an agilent $250x4mm,\;C_{18},\;5{\mu}m$, analytical column, at $25^{\circ}C$. The mobile phase consisted of a mixture of DW : acetonitrile : triethylamine(80:19:1%, v/v, pH 3.0) leading to retention times less than 14 min. at a flow rate 0.5 ml/min. These fluoroquinolones were detected by liquid chromatography with fluorescence at 290 nm excitation and 465 nm emission. The limits of quantification in each edible muscle (chicken, pork, and beef) were 0.32-6.54 ng/g. Using 0.5 g of each sample, average recovery rates at fortification levels of 0.05, 0.1 and 0.2 ${\mu}g/ml$ ranged 70.14-71.71% for NFX, 71.87-73.89% for CFX, 82.16-92.35% for DFX, and 90.13-98.12 for EFX This is a simple and economic method to quantify the presence of NFX, CFX, EFX and DFX in edible muscle of animal origin.

  • Bacterial diseases with mixed infection have recently occurred at land-based flounder farms in Korea. Thus, single antibacterial is not effective for therapy of mixed bacterial diseases of fish because of their different causative bacteria. The purpose of the present study was to obtain basic data for positive usefulness of a combination of antibacterials used for synergism to mixed bacterial diseases of fish. Snergistic interaction in combination of antibacterials was determined by in vitro antimicrobial activity against selected fish-pathogenic bacteria, Vibrio anguillarum, Edwardsiella tarda, Streptococcus sp., Staphylococcus epidermidis, on the basis of Checkerboard assay using fractional inhibitory concentration (FIC) indices. Synergistic interactions were observed in combinations of (oxytetracycline HCL+lincomycin), (tetracycline HCL+florfenicol), (oxytetracycline HCL+florfenicol) against V. anguillarum, (sodium nifurstyrenate+florfenicol), (tetracycline HCL+florfenicol), (sodium nifurstyrenate+oxolinic acid), (oxytetracycline HCL+florfenicol) against E. tarda, (ciprofloxacine+oleandomycin), (oxytetracycline HCL+oleandomycin), (tetracycline HCL+oleandomycin), (oxytetracycline HCL+lincomycin), (oxytetracycline HCL+spiramycin), (oxytetracycline HCL+erythromycin), (doxycycline HCL+oleandomycin), (tetracycline HCL+spiramycin) against Streptococcus sp., and (ciprofloxacine+erythromycin), (florfenicol+erythromycin), (doxycycline HCL+oleandomycin), (ciprofloxacine+oleandomycin) against S. epidermidis.

  • In this study, a post-correlation analysis for shaking table test of square water storage tank is presented for the use of advances in earthquake-resistant design of liquid storage tank. For this purpose, the ANSYS CFX program is selected for the CFD analysis. Sensitivity analysis for resonant sloshing motion in terms of grid size and turbulence model suggested that (1) horizontal grid size as well as vertical grid size is a key variable in the sloshing analysis, and (2) the SST turbulence model is best for the sloshing analysis. Finally, correlation analyses for a non-resonant harmonic input and scaled earthquake excitation of the El Centro (1940) NS component are carried out using the grid and turbulence model established through the post-correlation analysis for the resonant motion. As a result, sloshing time histories by the CFD analysis agreed very well with the test results.

  • In this paper, a 1MW HAWT(FIL-1000) rotor blade has been designed by BEMT(Blade Element Momentum Theory) with Prandtl's tip loss. Also, a 3-D flow and performance analysis on the FIL-1000 rotor blade has been carried out by using the 3-D Navier-Stokes commercial solver (CFX-5.7) to provide more efficient design techniques to the large-scale HAWT engineers. The rated power and itsapproaching wind velocity at design point (TSR=7.5) are 1MW and 9.99m/s respectively. The rotor diameter is 54.5m and the rotating speed is 26.28rpm. Airfoils such as FFA W-301, DU91-W-250, DU93-W-210, NACA 63418, NACA 63415 consist of the rotor blade from hub to tip. Recent CFX version, 5.7 was adopted to simulate 3-D flow field and to analyze the performance characteristics of the rotor blade. Entire mesh node number is about 730,000 and it is generated by ICEM-CFD to achieve better mesh quality The predicted maximum power occurringat the design tip speed ratio is 931.45kW. Approaching to the root, the inflow angle becomes large, which causesthe blade to be stalled in the region. Therefore, k-$\omega$ SST turbulence model was used to predict the quantitative flow information more accurately. Application of commercial CFD code to optimum blade design and performance analysis was proved to be more effective environment to HAWT blade designers.
