This paper is a study on continuous speech recognition in the Korean language using HMM-based models with continuous density functions. Here, we propose the most efficient method of continuous speech recognition for the Korean language under the condition of a continuous HMM model with 2 to 44 density functions. Two voice models were used CI-Model that uses 36 uni-phones and CD-Model that uses 3,000 tri-phones. Language model was based on N-gram. Using these models, 500 sentences and 6,486 words under speaker-independent condition were processed. In the case of the CI-Model, the maximum word recognition rate was 94.4% and sentence recognition rate was 64.6%. For the CD-Model, word recognition rate was 98.2% and sentence recognition rate was 73.6%. The recognition rate of CD-Model we obtained was stable.

The CdTe semiconductor detector has a higher detection efficiency for x-rays and $\square$amma rays and a wider energy band gap compared with Si and Ge semiconductor detectors. Therefore, the size of the detector element can be made small, and can be operated at room temperature. The interaction between a CdTe detector and incident x-rays is mainly photoelectric absorption in the photon energy range of up to 100 keV. In this energy range, Compton effects are almost negligible. We have developed a 256 channel CdTe array detector system for monochromatic x-ray CT using synchrotron radiation. The CdTe array detector system, the element size of which is 1.98 mm (h) x 1.98 mm (w) x 0.5 mm (t), was operated in photon counting mode. In order to improve the spatial resolution, we tilted the CdTe array detector against the incident parallel monochromatic x-ray beam. The experiments were performed at the BL20B2 experimental hutch in SPring-8. The energy of incident monochromatic x-rays was set at 55 keV. Phantom measurements were performed at the detector angle of 0, 30 and 45 degrees against the incident parallel monochromatic x-rays. The linear attenuation coefficients were calculated from the reconstructed CT images. By increasing the detector angle, the spatial resolutions were improved. There was no significant difference between the linear attenuation coefficients which were corrected by the detector angle. It was found that this method was useful for improving the spatial resolution in a parallel monochromatic x-ray CT system.
During the autumn of 1985, the stem cortex of Salix pseudo-lasiogyne on the street sides in Seoul city was collected by a cork borer. The contents of S, Pb and Cd in this sample were determined. This paper uses a multiplex deposition sputter system and aims to improve transmittance and reduce production costs by depositing a CdS thin film on an ITO glass substrate. When manufacturing CdS thin films, we wanted to find excellent conditions when manufacturing solar cells by changing heat treatment time. It was observed that thickness and sheet resistance were not significantly different depending on heat treatment time changes. The specific resistance was measured from a minimum of 6.68 to a maximum of 6.98. When the heat treatment time was more than 20 minutes, the transmittance was measured to be more than 75%. When the heat treatment time was 10 minutes, the bandgap was 3.665 eV and more than 20 minutes was 3.713 eV, which was measured as the same result. The XRD analysis showed that the structure of CdS was hexagonal and only CdS thin films were deposited without any other impurities. The result of calculating the FWHM was a maximum of 0.142 when the heat treatment time was 20 minutes, and a minimum of 0.133 when the heat treatment time was 40 minutes, so there was no significant difference in the FWHM when the heat treatment time was changed. The particle size was measured at 11.65 Å when the heat treatment time was 40 minutes, and at 10.93 Å when the heat treatment time was 20 minutes.
We investigated whether cadmium (Cd) toxicity affects phosphorus (P) concentration and growth of poplar, which might be related to the ectomycorrhizal associations. Populus ${\times}$tomentoglandulosa cuttings were treated with 0.1 mM and 0.4 mM $CdSO_4$ and inoculated with ectomycorrhizal fungus, Pisolithus tinctorius (Pt) and grown in autoclaved peat vermiculite mixture for five months under greenhouse conditions. Ectomycorrhizal plants showed significantly higher Cd concentration in leaves, stems and roots than in non-mycorrhizal plants. Likewise, P contents in leaves and roots of ectomycorrhizal plants were higher than those of non-mycorrhizal plants. Acid phosphatase activity in leaves of ectomycorrhizal plants, however, was significantly lower than that of non-mycorrhizal plants. 0.1 mM Cd significantly increased P content in leaves and stems of non-mycorrhizal plants. In spite of high P concentration, which is accompanied by lower acid phosphatase activity, plant growth was not improved by inoculation with P. tinctorius. Total plant dry weight was lower than the non-mycorrhizal counterpart. The results imply that this might be caused by the large amount of energy consumption to alleviate Cd toxicity resulted from high Cd accumulation in their tissues.
Indigenous bacterium which shows a tolerance to high metal toxicity was isolated from soil concomitantly contaminated with oil and heavy metals. The characteristics of the bacterium for Pb and Cd biosorption was investigated under the various experimental conditions such as bacterial growth phase, the initial metal concentration, the input biomass amount, temperature and pH. The Langmuir adsorption isotherm modeling was described to know the capacity and intensity of biosorption. The low initial concentration of heavy metals and high biomass has a maximum heavy metal removal efficiency, but biosorption capacity of Pb and Cd has different values. Biosorption efficiency was highest in the end of the microbial growth stage and under pH 5~9 condition, but was less affected by temperature variation of 25~$35^{\circ}C$. The maximum biosorption capacity for Pb and Cd was 62.11 and 192.31 mg/g, respectively and each $R^2$ was calculated as 0.71 and 0.98 by applying Langmuir isothermal adsorption equation. Biosorption for Cd was considered as monomolecular adsorption to single layer on the surface of cells, whereas biosorption for Pb was considered as accumulation process into the cell by the microbial metabolism and precipitation reaction with anion of bacteria.

In this study, water treatment sludge carbonized with $400^{\circ}C$ was tested as an adsorbent for the removal of Pb and Cd in water. The carbonized sludge was characterized by thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF), and surface area analysis. Carbonized sludge exhibited much higher specific surface area and total pore volume than water treatment sludge itself. In batch-type adsorption process, carbonized sludge represented better adsorption performance for Pb than Cd, achieving 90~98% at the concentrations conducted in the experiments. Equilibrium data of adsorption were analyzed using the Freundlich and Langmuir isotherm models. It was seen that both Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms have correlation coefficient $R^2$ value larger than 0.95. The results of studies indicated that carbonized water treatment sludge by heat treatment could be used as an efficient adsorbent for the removal of Pb and Cd from water.
Background: Circulating lymphocyte subsets reflect the immunological status and might therefore be a prognostic indicator in cancer patients. Our aim was to evaluate the clinical significance of circulating lymphocyte subset in gastric cancer (GC) cases. Methods: A retrospective study on a prevalent cohort of 846 GC patients hospitalized at Hospital from Aug 2006 to Jul 2010 was conducted. We calculated the patient's disease free survival (DFS) after first hospital admission, and hazard ratios (HR) from the Cox proportional hazards model. Results: Our findings indicated a significantly decreased percentage of CD3+, and CD8+ cells, a significantly increased proportion of $CD4^+$, $CD19^+$, $CD44^+$, $CD25^+$, NK cells, and an increased $CD4^+/CD8^+$ ratio in GC patients as compared with healthy controls (all P < 0.05). Alteration of lymphocyte subsets was positively correlated with sex, age, smoking, tumor stage and distant metastasis of GC patients (all P<0.05). Follow-up analysis indicated significantly higher DFS for patients with high circulating $CD19^+$ lymphocytes compared to those with low $CD19^+$ lymphocytes (P=0.037), with $CD19^+$ showing an important cutoff of $7.91{\pm}2.98%$ Conclusion: Circulating lymphocyte subsets in GC patients are significantly changed, and elevated CD19+ cells may predict a favorable survival.
Change detection, which finds changes in remote sensing images of the same location captured at different times, is very important because it is used in various applications. However, registration errors, building displacement errors, and shadow errors cause false positives. To solve these problems, we propose a novle deep convolutional network called CADNet (Change Attention Dense Siamese Network). CADNet uses FPN (Feature Pyramid Network) to detect multi-scale changes, applies a Change Attention Module that attends to the changes, and uses DenseNet as a feature extractor to use feature maps that contain both low-level and high-level features for change detection. CADNet performance measured from the Precision, Recall, F1 side is 98.44%, 98.47%, 98.46% for WHU datasets and 90.72%, 91.89%, 91.30% for LEVIR-CD datasets. The results of this experiment show that CADNet can offer better performance than any other traditional change detection method.
