The Development of Grinding Robot System Using NC data and Off-line Programming (수치제어 데이터와 오프라인 프로그램을 이용한 연마 로봇 시스템 개발)

  • This paper presents a method of grinding and polishing automation of precision die after CNC machining. The method employs a robot system equipped with a pneumatic spindle and a special abrasive film pad. The robot program is automatically generated off-line program form a PC and downloaded to robot controller. Position and orientation data for the program is supplied form cutter contact (CC) data of NC machining process. This eliminates separate robot teaching process. This paper aims at practical automation of die finishing process which is very time consuming and suffering from shortage of workpeople. Time loss due to changeover from one product to another is eliminated by PC off-line programming exploiting appropriate NC machining data. Dextrous 6-axis robot with rigid wrist and simple tooling enables the process applicable to larger, rather complex 3 dimensional free surfaces.

Patient Dose in Mammography (유방촬영에서 환자 피폭선량)

  • In the present investigation, we analyzed the data of 1,318 patients (2,636 images) who underwent mammographic examinations and obtained the distribution of the patient age and compressed breast thickness. We measured also average glandular doses (AGD) as function of compressed breast thickness. In order to obtain the values of AGD, we measured half value layer (HVL) and tube output (mR/mAs) for each kVp and target/filter combination. Entrance surface air kerma (ESAK) was calculated from the tube output as measured for each voltage used under clinical conditions and from the tube loading (mAs). AGD per exposure were calculated by multiplying the ESAK values by the conversion factors tabulated by Dance. We obtained in this study the following conclusions. The mean value of compressed breast thickness for cranio-caudal (CC) view was 35.8mm and that for medio-lateral oblique (MLO) view was 43.3 mm. The mean value of AGD for CC view was 1.55 mGy and that for MLO view was 1.70 mGy. The AGD for MLO view was 0.15 mGy (10%) higher than that for CC view because the thickness for MLO view was on average 4.8 mm higher than that for CC view. The values of AGD increased with increasing compressed brest thickness. The increased AGD value was on average 0.34 mGy per 10 mm in the thickness ranges $10{\sim}80\;mm$, therefore differences between the AGD values of each thickness were relative large. Thus, it is considered to need limited doses for mammography with the upper end of exposure range at several different compressed brest thickness.

Perceptions of Parental Role Responsibilities: Differences Between Fathers and Mothers (부모역할(父母役割)에 대한 책임의식(責任意識) - 아버지와 어머니의 차이 -)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate parents' perceptions of parental role responsibilities and to examine how these are influenced by parent's sex and child's sex. A total 320 subjects who have preschool or elementary school children (fathers, 151: mother 169) were randomly selected from nursery school, kindergarten, elementary schools in Seoul. The Perceptions of Parental Role Responsibilities Scales (PPRS) of Gilbert and Hanson (1983) was translated and supplemented by the investigator and employed in this study. The obtained data were analyzed by Two-way MANOVA, Univariate F-test, and One-way MANOVA. The results of this study showed that: 1. In Cognitive Development (CD), Handling of Emotions (HE), Social Skills (SoS), Personal Hygiene (PhH), Health Care (HC), Material (M), Meeting the Emotional Needs (EN) and Child Care (CC), mothers perceived higher parental role responsibilities than fathers did, and in Physical Health (PhH), fathers were higher than mothers. 2. In HE, Survival Skills (SuS), and M, mothers perceived higher parental role responsibilities toward daughters than sons. 3. In HE, SuS, M, EN and CC, fathers perceived higher parental role responsibilities toward daughters than sons, and they were higher in SoS and PhH, toward sons than daughters.

Variants of Interleukin-16 Associated with Gastric Cancer Risk

  • Aim: We conducted a case-control matched study to investigate the role of IL-16 gene polymorphisms, rs4072111, rs1131445, rs4778889 and rs11556218, in the risk of gastric cancer in a Chinese population, also performing subgroup analysis by subsites. Methods: To test the hypothesis of involvement, we analyzed the four SNPs of IL16 in 347 cancer patients and 368 controls. Demographic data and other information were collected using a newly designed questionnaire. Genotyping of IL16 (rs4072111, rs1131445, rs4778889 and rs11556218) was performed in a 384-well plate format on the MassARRAY(R) platform. Results: In our study, we found the gastric cancer patients were more likely to be male and have a family history of cancer (P<0.05). We found the rs4778889 CC and rs11556218 GG genotype was significantly associated with 1.97 and 1.84-fold increased risk of non-cardia gastric cancer, while we did not find significant association between the four IL-16 SNPs and cardia gastric cancer. Conclusions: In conclusion, our study indicated that IL-16 rs4778889 CC and rs11556218 GG genotypes are associated with an increased risk of non-cardia gastric cancer in a Chinese population. Our results offer insights into the influence of IL-16 on development of gastric cancer.

Production of bitstreams for digital TV data broadcasting supporting hotspots (핫스팟을 지원하는 디지털 TV 데이터 방송용 비트스트림 제작)

  • 본 논문에서는 디지털 TV 데이터 방송에 있어 핫스팟 기능을 지원하기 위한 비트스트림 제작에 관하여 서술한다. 디지털 TV 데이터 방송에 있어 핫스팟이란 시청자의 선택에 의해 더 많은 정보를 제공할 수 있는 "클릭 가능한 비디오 객체"를 의미한다. 이 기능은 다른 용도로도 사용될 수 있으나, 특히 TV 전자상거래(T-commerce)에 유용하게 사용할 수 있다. 이러한 기능을 제공하기 위해서는 핫스팟 기능을 처리할 자바 응용프로그램, 즉 엑슬릿(Xlet)과 화면상에서 핫스팟의 시공간적 위치를 지정하는 핫스팟 데이터, 그리고 핫스팟과 주 프로그램화면 간의 동기화를 위한 시간 기준 등이 송출되는 비트스트림 내에서 제공되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 핫스팟 적용 시나리오를 설명하고 이 시나리오에 따라 핫스팟 기능을 제공할 수 있는 비트스트림을 제작하였다. 보다 더 구체적으로는, 엑슬릿을 ISO/IEC 13818-6 DSM-CC 확장 표준의 오브젝트 캐루젤로, 그리고 핫스팟 데이터를 MPEG-2 프라이벳 섹션(Private section)으로 구성하여 비트스트림에 포함시켰다. 또한, 시간 기준을 위해 DSM-CC 확장 표준에서 규정하고 있는 정규 재생시간(normal play time, NPT) 클록을 이용하여 시간 참조 값을 생성하였으며, 트리거(trigger)를 보내기 위한 이벤트들도 동일 표준에서 규정하고 있는 이벤트 서술자에 따라 생성하여 비트스트림 내에 포함시켰다. 내에 포함시켰다.

Generation of Horizontal Global Irradiance using the Cloud Cover and Sunshine Duration According to the Solar Altitude (일조시간 및 운량을 이용한 태양고도에 따른 수평면 전일사 산출)

  • This study compares cloud radiation model (CRM) and sunshine fraction radiation model (SFRM) according to the solar altitude using hourly sunshine duration (SD) and cloud cover (CC) data. Solar irradiance measurements are not easy for the expensive measuring equipment and precise measuring technology. The two models with the site fitting and South Korea coefficients have been analyzed for fourteen cities of South Korea during the period (1986-2015) and evaluated using the root mean square error (RMSE) and the mean bias error (MBE). From the comparison of the results, it is found that the SFRM with the site fitting coefficients could be the best method for fourteen locations. It may be concluded that the SFRM models of South Korea coefficients generated in this study may be used reasonably well for calculating the hourly horizontal global irradiance (HGI) at any other location of South Korea.

Design and Implementation of Interworking Gateway with QoS Adaptation (QoS 적응 기능을 갖는 연동 게이트웨이의 설계 및 구현)

  • To support multimedia services between network domains with different environments, it is required to map the functionalities in many aspects. In this paper, we implemented interworking gateway which provides protocol conversion and QoS(Quality of Service) adaptation to interwork DAVIC services based on ATM(Asynchronous TRansfer Model )network and Internet AV services. The interworking gateway converts RTSP(Real-Time Streaming Protocol ) message into DSM-CC(Digital Storage Media Command & Control) messages to control the stream that is served in ATM network, and transmits data stream by using RTP(Real-Time Transport Protocol) The interworking gateway provides QoS adaptation functionalities by QoS monitoring and MPEG filtering to meet the variation of network bandwidth.

Development of a storage level estimation and forecasting techniques in Yongdam Dam basin for drought monitoring using satellite data (가뭄감시를 위한 위성자료 기반 용담댐 유역 저수위 모니터링 및 예측 기술 개발)

  • 본 연구에서는 용담댐 유역을 대상으로 저수위/저수량 모니터링 및 예측을 위하여 고해상도 위성관측 자료를 이용하는 방법과 위성으로부터 추출한 강수량 자료로부터 가뭄지수를 이용한 저수위를 모니터링하고 SSA를 이용한 PCA방법으로 예측모델을 구축하여 가뭄을 예측하는 방법을 개발하였다. 용담댐 저수위와 SPI(3)와의 상관계수가 0.78로 매우 높은 상관성을 보였으며, 위성자료를 통하여 산정한 가뭄지수를 활용하여 댐 저수위/저수량 모니터링 및 예측 가능성을 진단하였다. SSA에 의한 주성분 분석결과 SPI(3)과 각 RC자료의 상관관계를 분석한 결과 CC=0.87~0.99의 높은 상관성을 보였으며, 표준화된 댐 저수위(N-W.S.L.)와 RC자료의 상관관계를 분석한 결과 CC=0.83~0.97의 비교적 높은 상관성을 보임을 확인하였다. 또한, Sentinel-2 위성의 MSI (Multi-Spectral Instrument) 센서로 댐수위의 변화를 모니터링하기 위해 지수 기법을 적용하여 수체 탐지 알고리즘을 개발하였으며, 용담댐유역에 대해 2016년부터 2018년까지의 수계 면적 변화를 분석하였다. 이를 기반으로 Sentinel-2 위성영상으로 추출한 수계 면적 변화를 이용하여 가뭄감시 분야에 대한 활용 가능성을 제시하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다양한 위성관측자료로부터 미계측 지역의 저수량 모니터링과 수문학적 가뭄 모니터링/예측에 활용이 가능할 것이다.

Investigation of System Efficiency of an Electro-hydrostatic Actuator with an External Gear Pump (소형 외접기어펌프를 사용하는 EHA의 시스템 효율 분석)

  • In this study, the maximum system efficiency of the electro-hydrostatic actuators was experimentally investigated, where small size external gear pumps with volumetric displacement under 1.3 cc/rev were combined with a 400W servomotor as the prime mover. Since the efficiency data of the servomotor, gear pumps and hydraulic cylinder were not provided by the suppliers, experimental apparatuses for their efficiency measurement were extra built up. When a gear pump with a volumetric displacement of 1.27cc/rev was used on an electro-hydrostatic actuator system, the maximum system efficiency was not higher than 70%. This was because the most effective operation ranges of the motor and pump did not coincide each other. In order to match their operation ranges as one of the most crucial design factors, a speed reduction mechanism can be used, such as a timing belt. It was shown in the study that the maximum system efficiency could be increased from 70% to 76% in that way.

Application of Deep Learning to Solar Data: 2. Generation of Solar UV & EUV images from magnetograms

  • In this study, we apply conditional Generative Adversarial Network, which is one of the deep learning method, to the image-to-image translation from solar magentograms to solar UV and EUV images. For this, we train a model using pairs of SDO/AIA 9 wavelength UV and EUV images and their corresponding SDO/HMI line-of-sight magnetograms from 2011 to 2017 except August and September each year. We evaluate the model by comparing pairs of SDO/AIA images and corresponding generated ones in August and September. Our results from this study are as follows. First, we successfully generate SDO/AIA like solar UV and EUV images from SDO/HMI magnetograms. Second, our model has pixel-to-pixel correlation coefficients (CC) higher than 0.8 except 171. Third, our model slightly underestimates the pixel values in the view of Relative Error (RE), but the values are quite small. Fourth, considering CC and RE together, 1600 and 1700 photospheric UV line images, which have quite similar structures to the corresponding magnetogram, have the best results compared to other lines. This methodology can be applicable to many scientific fields that use several different filter images.
