Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) with the high efficieney and long lifetime are of growing interest in next-generation displays. Among the factors influencing OLEDs properties, one of unstable factor is $Alq_3$ cationic species caused by the excess holes resided in $Alq_3$ layer. Therefore, we suppressed the accumulation of excess holes by using the mixed-hole transporting layer (MHTL) of NPB and CBP in multilayer green OLEDs. The devices with MHTL showed improved characteristics in the luminous efficiency and lifetime. More characteristics and the carrier transport mechanism will be discussed.

As the construction of renewable energy generators is on the rise and gets bigger in size, researchers pay more and more attention to the impact of such facilities on the power market as well as on the stability of power grid system. In Korea, while studies on the latter, including calculating the marginal capacity of renewable energy generators, is being made, those on the former has not yet been performed. As such, this paper analyses the impact of a big renewable energy generators on the price and transaction cost of domestic power market and proposes ideas to minimize such influence by applying the technology of forecasting renewable energy.

국내에서 CBP전력시장이 운영된지 벌써 7년이 흘렀다. 그간 많은 개선을 통해 한국 전력산업의 고유 특성을 반영한 전력시장으로 발전해왔다. 타 산업에서의 시장과 달리 실시간으로 발생하는 전력계통의 제약을 반영하면서 수많은 데이터를 처리해야하는 특성으로 인해 전력시장은 IT기술의 발전과 동행해 왔다고 할 수 있다. 특히 이렇게 복잡한 실시간 시장을 감시하고 분석할 수 있는 기법 및 IT시스템은 전력시장을 운영하는 모든 나라에서 지속적으로 발전해왔으며, 향후에도 계속 발전해 갈 것이다. 우리나라도 이제 안정단계에 접어든 전력시장을 더욱 발전시키기 위해서는 전력시장을 감시하고 분석할 수 있는 다양한 기법 및 IT시스템의 발전이 필수적일 것이다. 이러한 관점에서 이번 전력거래소에서 구축한 전력시장 종합분석시스템은 우리나라의 전력시장 발전에 커다란 의미가 있다.

2001년 전력산업에 경쟁을 도입하면서 추진된 변동비반영 발전경쟁시장을 지난 7년간 운영하면서 개설초기부터 관심을 보이던 전력가격은 상당히 안정적인 모습을 보여왔다. 그러나 개설초기에 대부분의 사람들이 수요가 급등하는 하절기에 전력가격이 최고치를 기록할 것으로 예상해온 것과는 달리 하절기에는 오히려 가격이 하락하는 현상을 보여져왔다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 현상이 시장가격은 수요뿐이 아닌 예비율과 관련을 갖기 때문임을 통계적 방법을 이용하여 검증해보았다. 또한 시장참여발전기 중 특히 기저발전기가 미치는 영향을 조사였다.

In mammals, cap-dependent translation of mRNAs is initiated by two distinct mechanisms: cap-binding complex (CBC; a heterodimer of CBP80 and 20)-dependent translation (CT) and eIF4E-dependent translation (ET). Both translation initiation mechanisms share common features in driving cap- dependent translation; nevertheless, they can be distinguished from each other based on their molecular features and biological roles. CT is largely associated with mRNA surveillance such as nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD), whereas ET is predominantly involved in the bulk of protein synthesis. However, several recent studies have demonstrated that CT and ET have similar roles in protein synthesis and mRNA surveillance. In a subset of mRNAs, CT preferentially drives the cap-dependent translation, as ET does, and ET is responsible for mRNA surveillance, as CT does. In this review, we summarize and compare the molecular features of CT and ET with a focus on the emerging roles of CT in translation.

After September 11, 2001, the United State's Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has set up inspection stations in seaport terminals. The inspection station, however, may directly and indirectly affect delay time in the seaports, increasing by especially high and severe level of security. This paper studies for a methodology to analyze container delays versus security incurring by the various layouts of the inspection station in the United States.

Skeletal muscle insulin resistance, which increases the risk for developing various metabolic diseases, including type 2 diabetes, is a common metabolic disorder in obesity and aging. If potential treatments are to be developed to treat insulin resistance, then it is important to fully understand insulin signaling and glucose metabolism. While recent large-scale "omics" studies have revealed the acetylome to be comparable in size to the phosphorylome, the acetylation of insulin signaling proteins and its functional relevance to insulin-stimulated glucose transport and glucose metabolism is not fully understood. In this Mini Review we discuss the acetylation status of proteins involved in the insulin signaling pathway and review their potential effect on, and relevance to, insulin action in skeletal muscle.

2001년 전력산업의 구조개편에 따라 우리나라는 현재 발전경쟁시장(CBP)을 운영하고 있으며, 이어서 도매경쟁시장(TWBP)의 개설을 준비하고 있다. 도매경쟁시장에서의 계통운영 보조서비스는 전력거래소와 발전사업자간의 계약에 의하여 제공되며, 전력거래소는 전력계통 신뢰도 및 전기품질 유지기준을 만족시킬 수 있도록 보조서비스 필요량을 정하여 운영하게 된다. 본 논문은 도매경쟁시장에서 적용할 주파수제어보조서비스 중 정상상태의 주파수 제어에 사용되는 자동발전제어(AGC)에 대하여 실계통 운영 실적자료 분석을 통한 AGC 필요량 산정방안을 제안하고, 적정필요량을 검토하였다.

We have investigated the effect of host on the device charactistics of green phosphorescent organic light emitting devices consising of mCP, CBP and TPBi. Electrons were confined within the device by inserting hole transport layer between the electro transport and the emitting layer. When the appropriate interlayers were added, the device with TPBI host layer performances were found to be dramatically enhanced, with current efficiency and lifetime of 18cd/A and 18hour.
