입체 형상의 자동생성 및 가공을 위한 CAD/CAM 시스템 개발 (CAD/CAM System Development for Automatic Creation and Manufacturing of Three Dimension Objects)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a CAD/CAM system for automatic creation and manufacturing of three dimension objects. The computer system used in this study made RAM 2M, CPU 80386, VGA graphic card. The results in this paper are as follows ; 1. By interconnect PC(personal computer) and NC(numerical control) milling machine with RS232C connector, we was constructed with CAD/CAM system. 2. The developed algorithm in this study is able to be design of three dimension object on the computer CRT and manufacturing of NC milling machine. 3. Because of design and modifying on the PC of objects, we can be saving time, cost and improvable precision of objects. 4. Essentially, we expect industrial accident to reduse according as we takes advantage of CAD/CAM system.

  • The integrated management system IMMC system) is developed for machining, measuring and checking by using IBM-PC under Borland C $\^$++/ environment. MMC system consists of following systems : DNC system, MascMC system (for measuring and checking) and MascCAM system : DNC system, MascNC system (for measuring and checking) and MascCAM system (for CAM). And some other modules support MMC system for practical usages. A vertical machining center equipped with FANUC 0MC is used for experiments. Feasibility of the system is confirmed by a large amount of experiments.

3종의 CAD/CAM 시스템에서 지르코니아 코어의 변연 적합도에 관한 비교 연구 (Comparative study in marginal adaptation of zirconia cores fabricated with 3 different CAD/CAM systems)

  • 최근 개발된 다양한 CAD/CAM 시스템으로 제작된 지르코니아 코어의 변연 적합도에 관해 많은 연구가 있었다. 그러나 비교 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구의 목적은 3종의 CAD/CAM 시스템에서 단일 전부 도재관을 위한 지르코니아 코어의 변연 적합도를 비교하는 것이다. 실험을 통하여 3종의 CAD/CAM 시스템($Adens^{(R)}$ 시스템, $Lava^{(R)}$ 시스템, $Cerasys^{(R)}$ 시스템) 으로 제작된 지르코니아 코어의 변연 적합도를 비교하였다. 각 시스템당 10개의 지르코니아 코어를 제작하였다. 광학현미경($L-150A^{(R)}$, Nikon, Japan)을 사용하여 총 50곳의 변연 간격을 측정하였다. 통계처리는 Kruskal Wallis test와 Wilcoxon Rank Sum test를 시행하였다. 단일 전부 도재관을 위한 지르코니아 코어의 총 변연간격은 $Adens^{(R)}$ 시스템이 $284.5{\pm}152.9{\mu}m$, $Lava^{(R)}$ 시스템이 $99.0{\pm}73.0{\mu}m$, 그리고 $Cerasys^{(R)}$ 시스템이 $153.5{\pm}85.7{\mu}m$ 이었다. 본 연구내에서, $Lava^{(R)}$ 시스템이 다른 시스템에 비해 우수한 변연 적합도를 보였다.

  • The CAD/CAM System for deep drawing transfer die in mechanical press proess has been developed. The developed CAD system can generate the drawing of drawing of transfer die in mechanical press. Using these results from CAD system, it can generate the NC data to machine die's elements on the CAD system. This system can reduce design man-hours and human errors. In order to construct the system, it is used to automate the design process using knowledge base system. The developed system is based on the knowledge base system which is involved a lot of expert's technology in the practice filed. Using AutoLISP language under the AutoCAD system, CTK customer language of SmartCAM is used as the overall CAD/CAM environment. Results of this system will be provide effective aids to the designer and mannufacturer in this field.

REDUCTION OF HIGH FREQUENCY EXCITATIONS IN A CAM PROFILE BY USING MODIFIED SMOOTHING SPLINE CURVES

  • High frequency excitation terms in a cam profile can excite vibration of a cam follower system. In this paper, modified smoothing spline curves are used to reduce the high frequency terms. The essential difference between the proposed method and other existing approaches is its ability to make the principal cam motions smooth while still exactly satisfying boundary conditions of follower displacement, velocity and acceleration. The boundary values usually depend on the ramp properties of a cam. Our method, thus, allows designers to smooth the existing cam motion without any damages on its ramp areas. Because the ramp height, velocity and acceleration are maintained exactly, more radical smoothing is possible. An example shows that the proposed method can be a powerful tool of cam profile smoothing, which removes high frequency components in the cam profile excitations without any changes in ramp properties.

새로운 Ternary CAM을 이용한 고속 허프만 디코더 설계 (A high speed huffman decoder using new ternary CAM)

  • In this paper, the huffman decoder which is a part of the decoder in JPEG standard format is designed by using a new Ternary CAM. First, the 256 word * 16 bit-size new bit-word all parallel Ternary CAM system is designed and verified using SPICE and CADENCE Verilog-XL, and then the verified novel Ternary CAM is applied to the new huffman decoder architecture of JPEG. So the performnce of the designed CAM cell and it's block is verified. The new Ternary CAM has various applications because it has search data mask and storing data mask function, which enable bit-wise search and don't care state storing. When the CAM is used for huffman look-up table in huffman decoder, the CAM is partitioned according to the decoding symbol frequency. The scheme of partitioning CAM for huffman table overcomes the drawbacks of all-parallel CAM with much power and load. So operation speed and power consumption are improved.

  • The operating torque and tribological characteristics of the cam/tappet system in an I.C. engine have an important effect on engine efficiency. In this paper, we measured the torque of cam/tappet system with respect to the oil temperature and camshaft speed to characterize the tribological behavior. Also, accelerated test was performed to analyze the wear characteristics of cam/tappet interface. The torque of the cam/tappet system decreased with respect to camshaft speed and was not significantly affected by the oil temperature. The results of accelerated test showed that the running-in wear occurred during the tests and the center of the tappet was mainly damaged by the rolling and sliding friction.

  • With the contemporary CAD/CAM system, where the tool path is generated and verified purely based on the geometric operation, geometric accuracy of the machined surface cannot be guaranteed dut to the cutting mechanics, meaning that the cutting mechanics should be incorporated in some fashion. In this paper, we incorporate the instantaneous cutting force and the tool deflection phenomena in predicting the machined surface for the finish-cut and milling operation. For the given NC dat including cutting conditions, the developed algorithm computes cutting force and deflection amount along the tool trajectory, and outputs the 3D graphic model of the machined surface together with error analysis. The validity and accuracy of the presented method has been tested by the actual cutting experiments. Experimental results and accuracy enhancement method together with implementing architecture of the VMCS (Virtual Machining CAM System) are discussed in the paper.

CNC 호브 릴리빙 선반의 CAM 시스템 개발 (Development of the CAMSsystem for CNC Hob Relieving Lathe)

  • The hob is considered as an effective gear cutting tool for achieving the various gears such as spur gear, helical gear, worm gear and so on. To enhance the productivity and precision of hobs and the competitive ability of domestic CNC hob relieving lathes, a CAM system for CNC hob relieving lathe needs to be realized. In this study, the CAM system is developed based on the personal computer and C language. Besides the automatic generation of CNC data, the developed CAM system has the various capabilities related to the generation of tool path, the cutting simulation for verifying the generated CNC data and forecasting the cutting time, the DNC operation for communicating the CNC data with CNC controller by RS232C port, and the estimation of undercut length for verifying the hob cutting conditions.

  • As consumer's desire becomes various, agility of mold manufacturing is most important factor for competence of manufacturer. In common works to use commercial CAM system to generate tool path, some decision making process is required to produce optimal result of CAM systems. We propose tool selection procedures to aid the decision making process. The system provides available tool size for machining of design model part of injection mold die by analyzing sliced CAD model of die cavity and core. Also, the tool size information is used to calculate machining time. The system is developed with commercial CAM using API. This module will be used for optimization of tool selection and planning process.
