A study on the motorcycle lear cowl injection molding by CAE analysis (CAE 해석을 이용한 오토바이 리어카울 사출성형에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, in order to improve the formability and quality of the injection molded parts in the molds for molding the motorcycle rear cowl injection molded parts with different volumes at the same time, the flow of the molded parts is changed through the injection molding CAE analysis by changing the gate position, runner size and position. It is to find the optimum gate position, the diameter of the runner and the position where the balance is equal. The molded article formed by the optimization resulted in the uniformity of the molten resin at the same time at the corner of the product, thereby maintaining the flow balance favorable for mass production at lower injection pressure.

  • This paper describes an automated computer-aided engineering (CAE) system for micromachines whose size range 10 to 10$^3$${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. An automatic finite element mesh generation technique, which is based on the fuzzy knowledge processing and computational geometry techniques, is incorporated into the system, together with one of commercial finite clement (FE) analysis codes, MARC, and one of commercial solid modelers, Designbase. The system allows a geometry model of concern to be a automatically converted to different FE models, depending on physical phenomena to be analyzed, i.e. electrostatic analysis, stress analysis, modal analysis and so on. The FE analysis models are then exported to the FE analysis code, and then analyses are performed. This system is successfully applied to an electrostatic micro actuator.

  • Thermoplastic elastomer(TPE) can be molded by conventional injection molding. Therefore TPE injection molding could be analyzed by commercial flow analysis software. However there are a little of gaps on CAE simulation results and practical molding. In this study, the properties of TPE were measured and applied to CAE simulation for comparing the simulation flow pattern and real flow pattern. The pattern that was controlled by injection time was match. The pattern that was controlled by injection stroke and rate was not match.

  • Generally, when the injection molds are made in advanced nations, the improvement of a quality and production rate is obtained by using CAE. In this paper, the methodology which is possible to reduce the cycle time of injection molding process is studies by using the cooling analysis with CAE(Moldmax). In case of changing the cooling system design with the analysis result of CAE, the manimum reduction of the cycle time runs into 30 percent. Finally, the average reduction of the cycle time is 17.8 percent.

  • Recently, the rapid progress of Internet and Network affects engineering design environment as well as Business fields to utilize Web technologies to enhance it's competitively in the world. In product development, experts and organizations actually taking part in the design process are often geographically dispersed. Furthermore, different divisions and businesses often have heterogeneous CAD/CAE systems and methods for expressing product data, and addressing this heterogeneity creates additional costs and causes longer development periods. To ensure successful collaboration in the design process, it is therefore imperative that distributed CAD, CAE, and other related systems be managed in an organic and integrated manner from the initial stages of product development. Therefore, this study suggests Web-based MDO(Multidisciplinary Design Optimization) framework to support interfacing and the collective use of design and analysis tools.

  • Offshore wind turbines are divided into an upper wind turbine and a lower support structure. Offshore wind turbine system is required to secure high reliability for a variety of external environmental conditions compared to ground wind turbines because of additional periodic loads due to ocean wave and current effects. In this study, extreme load analyses have been conducted for the designed offshore wind turbine foundation with weight control functionality using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) then structural analyses have been also conducted to investigate the structural design requirement.

  • A pillow was fabricated through CAE(Computer Aided Engineering) and 3D printing, which can adjust automatically the height of the pillow when lying sideways and backwards according to the sleeping posture. The target height difference of the pillow was about 1.0 cm ~ 1.5 cm when the head weight difference was about 1.2 kg. Instead of using a complex mechanical device, it was based on an arch structure made of TPU. From the simulation, the optimum model was designed through series combination and the results were compared with the experimental ones. The final product had a height difference of about 2 cm according to the lying posture.

  • VTR(Video Tape Recorder) has very complicated mechanisms composed of various cams, links, gears and so on. To satisfy kinematic requirements of VTR components, various geometric constraints between rigid bodies and a translational cam design program are developed. Mechanisms of VTR are divided into functional groups like a control part, a loading part and a tape guide part. Each group is modeled for kinematic and dynamic analysis. Finally, all groups are combined together for a complete VTR model and loads required for each function of VTR controls are studied. Detailed description of developed programs are presented and result are discussed.

  • 최근 전기/전자 제품 개발에서 대용량, 소형화가 이루어지면서 제품 설계에 열유동 및 구조적 문제가 중요한 요소로 등장하였다. 열유동은 발열체와 공기의 흐름에 관련이 있기 때문에 시스템의 구조를 어떻게 설계 하느냐가 방열의 중요한 요소이다. 본 논문에서는 Ansys사(社)의 소프트웨어를 이용하여 연료전지용 PCS에 대한 열유동, 구조 및 강도 해석을 수행하였다. 3D설계는 CAD(Computer Aided Design) 소프트웨어인 Pro Engineer를 이용하였다. 설계된 3D 도면을 Ansys Multiphysics로 불러들여 구조 및 강도해석을 하였고 CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) 소프트웨어인 Icepak으로 열유동해석을 수행하였다.

  • VR(Virtual Reality)의 개념이 제조공학 분야로 확대 적용되면서 설계분야에서의 가상조형 (Virtual Prototyping), 제조분야에서의 가상제조시스템(Virtual Manufacturing System)이라는 새로운 형태의 제조 시스템 및 설계기술이 차세대 제조기술로서 발전해 오고있으며 이런 가상제조방법(Virtual Manufacturing)은 컴퓨터를 이용하며 생산과정에서 제품뿐만이 아니라 유한요소해석을 유용하여, 공정까지도 모의실험을 하며 생산성(manufacturability), 최종 형태(final shape), 잔류 응력(residual stress), 제품 수명 주기(life-cycle)등과 같은 요소들의 최적화 정보를 제공하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 가상제조방법을 구현하기 위한 기초적 단계로서 가상단조기계를 가상현실기법을 이용하여 모델링하고 Java를 이용하여 모델링된 단조기계를 제어하고 제조되는 단조물에 대한 내부 응력 및 형태변환을 유한 요소법을 이용하여 분석하고 분석된 단조물의 자료를 WEB상을 통하여 닥 수 있게 유한 요소 해석결과를 VRML언어로 변환하는 작업을 수행하였다.
