Purpose: To verify accuracy of respiratory gated proton therapy by measuring and analyzing proton beam delivered when respiratory gated proton therapy is being performed in our institute. Materials and Methods: The plan data of 3 patients who took respiratory gated proton therapy were used to deliver proton beam from proton therapy system. The manufactured moving phantom was used to apply respiratory gating system to reproduce proton beam which was partially irradiated. The key characteristics of proton beam, range, spreat-out Bragg peak (SOBP) and output factor were measured 5 times and the same categories were measured in the continuous proton beam which was not performed with respiratory gating system. Multi-layer ionization chamber was used to measure range and SOBP, and Scanditronix Wellhofer and farmer chamber was used to measure output factor. Results: The average ranges of 3 patients (A, B, C), who had taken respiratory gated proton therapy or not, were (A) 7.226, 7.230, (B) 12.216, 12.220 and (C) 19.918, 19.920 $g/cm^2$ and average SOBP were (A) 4.950, 4.940, (B) 6.496, 6.512 and (C) 8.486, 8.490 $g/cm^2$. And average output factor were (A) 0.985, 0.984 (B) 1.026, 1.027 and (C) 1.138, 1.136 cGy/MU. The differences of average range were -0.004, -0.004, -0.002 $g/cm^2$, that of SOBP were 0.010, -0.016, -0.004 $g/cm^2$ and that of output factor were 0.001, -0.001, 0.002 cGy/MU. Conclusion: It is observed that the range, SOBP and output factor of proton beam delivered when respiratory gated proton therapy is being performed have the same beam quality with no significant difference compared to the proton beam which was continuously irradiated. Therefore, this study verified the quality of proton beam delivered when respiratory gated proton therapy and confirmed the accuracy of proton therapy using this.
This study was conducted to analyze the acidity and turbidity changes of immersion solutions as well as changes in aerobic bacteria, E. coli, anaerobic bacteria, yeast and mold counts of mulberry leaf soybean curds during storages at $4^{\circ}C$ and $25^{\circ}C$ in different immersion solutions such as distilled water, grapefruit seed extract (300 ppm) and alkaline ionic water. The acidities of immersion solutions of distilled water, grapefruit seed extract and alkaline ionic water after 18 days of storage at $4^{\circ}C$ were 0.021, 0.008 and 0.002%, respectively. After 5 days of storage at $25^{\circ}C$ were 0.042, 0.029 and 0.009%, respectively. The turbidities of the above mentioned immersion solutions were 0.50, 0.29 and 0.21 after 18 days of storage at $4^{\circ}C$ and 0.38, 0.34 and 0.27, respectively, after 5 days of storage at $25^{\circ}C$. The acidity and turbidity changes of immersion solutions were sensitive to storage temperatures. The aerobic bacteria count of mulberry leaf soybean curds after 18 days of storage at $4^{\circ}C$ was still below $10^7\;CFU/g$, the beginning point of soybean curd putrefaction; in contrast, this value was reached within one day in distilled water at $25^{\circ}C$ and between 2 and 3 days in alkaline ionic water. Grapefruit seed extract and alkaline ionic water had a better preservative effect at $4^{\circ}C$ than at $25^{\circ}C$ storage temperature.
This study was carried out to estimate the effects of breed and environment such as sex, test station, test year, test season, parity, initial and final weight on average daily gain, age at 90kg, backfat thickness, feed efficiency, lean percent and selection index on the basis of the performance data collected from 25,790 pigs of Duroc, Yorkshire and Landrace breeds which were performance-tested at the Korea Swine Testing Station from 1991 to 2002. The results obtained in the study are summarized as follows; 1. The means of the major economic traits were estimated as 959.95${\pm}$0.699g for average daily gain, 138.36${\pm}$0.072days for age at 90kg, 1.41${\pm}$0.001cm for backfat thickness, 2.33${\pm}$0.001 for feed efficiency, 56.71${\pm}$0.018% for lean percent and 221.65${\pm}$0.113 for selection index. 2. The effect of breed was statistically significant for all studied traits. Briefly, Duroc showed the best performance for the average daily gain and age at 90kg. Landrace had the best performances for the backfat thickness and lean meat percent. In feed efficiency and selection index, Yorkshire had a better score than other breeds. 3. The least-squares means of female and male for the traits studied were 923.05${\pm}$1.289g and 974.53${\pm}$0.856g for average daily gain, 139.74${\pm}$0.145days and 137.21${\pm}$0.097days for age at 90kg, 1.49${\pm}$0.002cm and 1.39${\pm}$0.002cm for backfat thickness, 2.43${\pm}$0.002 and 2.28${\pm}$0.002 for feed efficiency, 56.43${\pm}$0.034% and 56.81${\pm}$0.023% for lean percent and 211.37${\pm}$0.194 and 224.61${\pm}$0.129 for selection index. Therefore, males were superior to females for all traits examined. 4. The effect of test station was statistically significant for all traits except for selection index. Performances for age at 90kg, backfat thickness, feed efficiency and lean meat percent collected from Test station 2 were higher than those from Test station 1. However, Test station 1 showed better average daily gain. 5. The initial weight and final weight included as a covariate in this study had a significant influence on average daily gain, age at 90kg, backfat thickness, feed efficiency and selection index. From the absolute values of the estimated regression coefficients, it was inferred that the final weight had greater effect for the investigated traits than the initial weight.
High sensitive C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) has been associated with metabolic syndrome (MetS) and its risk factors. This study aimed to evaluate the association between hs-CRP and the risk factors of MetS in elderly women with abdominal obesity. The diagnosis of MetS followed the AHA/NHLBI criteria, and abdominal obesity was defined using the WHO Asian-Pacific criteria. We used the data from 174 elderly women, with an average age of 74 years. They were classified into two groups: The absent group (N=97) and the MetS group (N=77). Hs-CRP was significantly higher in the MetS group (p=0.007). Hs-CRP had a positive correlation with abdominal obesity (r=0.190, p=0.014) and fasting blood glucose (r=0.240, p=0.002), while having a negative correlation with HDL cholesterol (r=-0.164, p=0.035). Moreover, hs-CRP was higher in the group with risk of high fasting blood glucose (p=0.006) and low HDL-cholesterol (p=0.010), even in elderly women with abdominal obesity.
In this study, a needle coke was oxidized in a mixture of dilute nitric acid and sodium chlorate ($NaClO_3$) solutions and followed by heat treatment. The samples were analyzed with using XRD, FESEM, elemental analyzer, BET, and Raman spectroscopy. Double layer capacitance was measured with the charge and discharge measurements. The consisting layers of the needle coke were expanded to single phase showing only (001) diffraction peak by the acid treatment for 24 hours. The oxidized coke returned to a graphite structure appearing (002) peak after heat treatment above $200^{\circ}C$. The structure returned could be more easily accessible to the ions by the first charge, and improve the double layer capacitance at the second charge. The two-electorde cell from acid treated coke and $300^{\circ}C$ heat treatment exhibited the maximum capacitances of 32.1 F/g and 29.5 F/ml at the potential of $0{\sim}2.5\;V$.
The rate Constants and energies of activation for the Combustion reaction of Korean anthracites have obtained by DTA method using the following rate equation derived by authors. $K=\frac{C_3{\cdot}W_0}{{\Delta}H{\cdot}{\Delta}C{\cdot}M{\cdot}S_A}(\frac{dy}{dt}+A(y-y_3))$ The anthracites of various ranks were treated at the different temperatures in the furnace. The probable combustion reaction mechanisms have discussed with the results obtained by the X-ray diffraction method, IR spectroscophic analysis, and gas chromatography. By the intensity of d(002) Values, it was confirmed that a parts of the amorphous carbon was converted to graphite form by heat treatment. The appreciable amounts of CO gas were expelled in the combustion process and it appeared that a little amount of the gas came from the catalytic decomposition of anthracites, The functional groups such as -OH, -SH, -NH, $-CH_2-CH_3,$ -CO, -COC-. and polycondensed aromatic rings in anthracites have observed by IR spectrophotometric analysis.

We fabricated Ga doped ZnO (GZO) thin films on the glass substrate (Eagle 2000) with various of Ga doping concentration and annealing temperatures using sol-gel method, electrical and optical properties were investigated. When the GZO thin films doped with 1 mol% of Ga and annealed at $600^{\circ}C$, the excellent (002) orientation was observed. In the results of Hall measurement, carrier concentration decreased and resistivity increased due to segregation effect with increasing of the Ga doping concentration. The largest carrier concentration and lowest resistivity were $9.13{\times}10^{18}cm^{-3}$ and $0.87{\Omega}cm$, respectively, in the GZO thin films doped with 1 mol% Ga and annealed at $600^{\circ}C$. All films is higher than 80 % in the visible light region. Energy band gap narrowing due to Burstein-Moss effect was observed with increasing of Ga doping concentration from 1 to 4 mol%.
Al-doped ZnO (AZO) thin films were grown on glass substrates by radio-frequency magnetron sputtering. The effects of oxygen flow ratio, which was used for a sputtering gas, on the AZO thin films were investigated by using the X-ray diffraction (XRD), atomic force microscopy (AFM), and Hall effects measurement. The AZO thin film, deposited with oxygen flow ratio of 0% at the growth temperature of $400^{\circ}C$, showed a strongly c-axis preferred orientation and the lowest resistivity of $6.9{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}cm$. The ZnO (002) diffraction peak indicated a tendency to decrease substantially with increasing the oxygen flow ratio. Furthermore, as the oxygen flow ratio was decreased, the carrier concentration and the hall mobility were increased, but the electrical resistivity was decreased.
$Y_{2-x}SiO_5:Ce_x^{3+}$(x=0.002∼0.04) phosphors were prepared by sol-gel process, amorphous crystal phase was observed in calcining dry gel at 800$^{\circ}$C, but pure $X_2$ type of type $Y_2SiO_5$ phase appeared from heat treatment above 1000$^{\circ}$C. Light absorption of tye $Y_2SiO_5$ host lattice occurred at 230∼360nm, and light absorption of the $Y_{2-x}SiO_5:Ce_x^{3+}$ phosphors was observed at 300∼400nm in adding $Ce^{3+}$. $Y_{2-x}SiO_5:Ce_x^{3+}$ phosphors showed maximum emission shoulder at 436nm. Maximum CL intensities of $Y_{2-x}SiO_5:Ce_x^{3+}$ were observed in adding 0.025 $Ce^{3+}$ and the phosphor showed x=0.161, y=0.124 in color coordinate of CIE1931.
Supported lead oxide catalysts were prepared by using ${\alpha}-,{\beta}-{\gamma}$-alumina, and MgO as a support. Among the supported lead oxide catalysts, MgO-supported catalyst showed the highest $C_2^+$ hydrocarbon selectivity for the methane conversion into $C_2^+$ hydrocarbons, but ${\gamma}$-alumina-supported PbO catalyst gave the highest $CO_2$ selectivity. And ${\alpha}$-alumina-supported catlyst showed the midium activity, whereas ${\beta}$-alumina-supported catalyst gave little activity. These reaction characteristics seemed to be largely dependent on the acticity of lattice oxygens in supported catalysts, which would be influnto be largely dependent on the activity of lattice oxygens in supported catalysts, which would be influenced in the interaction between the supports and lead oxides and the properties of supports. Especially, much higher ration of (002)/(111) peak intensities for PbO phase on MgO support than on the other supports in X-ray diffraction analysis was considered to be ab evidence that methane oxidative coupling of methane might be so-called structure-sensitive reaction, and this seemed to be an example of surface oxide-support interaction (SOSI) in the oxidative coupling reaction.
