This paper deals with the after-tax economic feasibility analysis of the hydrogen fueling station considering dynamic utilization. We selected an off-site hydrogen station in which the hydrogen is supplied by a central by-product hydrogen plant as a case study. Also, we made some sensitivity analysis by changing input factors such as the discount rate, the hydrogen station construction cost, the hydrogen demand and the hydrogen sale price. As a result, the hydrogen station will not be economical in 2020 due to the relatively high price of the hydrogen station construction cost and the low price of hydrogen sale price. In order to realize the economic feasibility of the hydrogen station in the early stage of the hydrogen economy, the subsidies on the annual operating cost as well as the construction cost are needed.
The accident at Japan's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in March 2011, caused by an earthquake and a subsequent tsunami, resulted in a failure of the power systems that are needed to cool the reactors at the plant. The accident progression in the absence of heat removal systems caused Units 1-3 to undergo fuel melting. Containment pressurization and hydrogen explosions ultimately resulted in the escape of radioactivity from reactor containments into the atmosphere and ocean. Problems in containment venting operation, leakage from primary containment boundary to the reactor building, improper functioning of standby gas treatment system (SGTS), unmitigated hydrogen accumulation in the reactor building were identified as some of the reasons those added-up in the severity of the accident. The Fukushima accident not only initiated worldwide demand for installation of adequate control and mitigation measures to minimize the potential source term to the environment but also advocated assessment of the existing mitigation systems performance behavior under a wide range of postulated accident scenarios. The uncertainty in estimating the released fraction of the radionuclides due to the Fukushima accident also underlined the need for comprehensive understanding of fission product behavior as a function of the thermal hydraulic conditions and the type of gaseous, aqueous, and solid materials available for interaction, e.g., gas components, decontamination paint, aerosols, and water pools. In the light of the Fukushima accident, additional experimental needs identified for hydrogen and fission product issues need to be investigated in an integrated and optimized way. Additionally, as more and more passive safety systems, such as passive autocatalytic recombiners and filtered containment venting systems are being retrofitted in current reactors and also planned for future reactors, identified hydrogen and fission product issues will need to be coupled with the operation of passive safety systems in phenomena oriented and coupled effects experiments. In the present paper, potential hydrogen and fission product issues raised by the Fukushima accident are discussed. The discussion focuses on hydrogen and fission product behavior inside nuclear power plant containments under severe accident conditions. The relevant experimental investigations conducted in the technical scale containment THAI (thermal hydraulics, hydrogen, aerosols, and iodine) test facility (9.2 m high, 3.2 m in diameter, and $60m^3$ volume) are discussed in the light of the Fukushima accident.
The mechanism of the hydrogen gas pore formation was investigated in Lost Foam Casting of Al-alloy by reduced pressure test and real casting. The hydrogen gas pick-up was affected by the formed gas during the decomposition of polystyrene in addition to the liquid product. It depended on pouring temperature and a proper temperature of metal front gave the minimum hydrogen pick-up. At a low pouring temperature, the hydrogen went into the melt mainly from entrapped liquid product of polystyrene but pores were formed from the gas as well as the liquid product at a high pouring temperature. The mold flask evacuation down to 710torr decreased the gas porosity down by around 0.4% vol%. The entrapped decomposition product of polystyrene in the melt was observed through the visualization of filling behavior of Al alloy-melt with the high speed camera.

This study was conducted to develop a domestic product for a flow control valve for a hydrogen refueling station, and a domestic prototype was manufactured and the durability performance evaluation was conducted through comparison with an imported products. The stress generated by the internal pressure was checked and safety was confirmed using a commercial structural analysis program, ABAQUS, in accordance with the withstand pressure test standards. In addition, after identifying the weak areas the fatigue life was predicted through a commercial software, fe-safe. This fatigue analysis showed that the hydrogen gas repeated test criteria were satisfied.

The "Hydrogen Economic Activation Road map" was announced in 2019, and hydrogen demand is expected to exceed 470,000 tons per year in 2022 and keep increasing. Under this circumstance, it has become important to understand the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions associated with various hydrogen production pathways. In this study, the evaluation of life cycle GHG emissions regarding the hydrogen produced as by-product from coke oven gas (COG) in steel mill is conducted. To cover the possible range of operations, three literatures were reviewed and their data of inputs and outputs for the process were adopted for calculation. Life cycle inventories and emission factors were mostly referred to GaBi and Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) guidelines, respectively. When there are multiple products from a single process, the energy allocation method was applied. Based on these sources and the assumptions, the life cycle emission values of COG-based hydrogen were found to be 3.8 to 4.7 kg/CO2-eq./kg-H2.
The color of Congo red hinders the spectrometric measurements of a concentration of hydrogen peroxide and enzyme activity (Horseradish peroxidase; HRP) during enzymatic decoloring of Congo red. In this study, a method was developed to measure peroxidase activity and hydrogen peroxide concentration in the presence of Congo red. The oxidation product of HRP/hydrogen peroxide and ABTS(2,2'-azino-bis-(3-ethylbenzotriazoline-6-sulfonic acid)) formed a dark green color. The spectrum of this product showed absorption bands at 420 nm and 734 nm. When compared with the Congo red spectrum, the absorption at 734 nm of this product did not overlap with Congo red, thus making the hydrogen peroxide measurement possible even in the presence of Congo red. Kinetic study of decoloring of Congo red performed by this method showed that the decoloring reaction followed the Michaelis-Menten kinetics. Pulse feeding of hydrogen peroxide, upon depletion, significantly increased the decoloring of Congo red. This result shows that this newly developed technique can monitor, predict, and improve the enzymatic decoloring process.
Cryogenic vessels are special equipment that requires periodic evaluation of their thermal insulation performance. At the current standard, the test is considered as the loss product or heat leakage of cryogenic vessel, which takes over 72 h to evaluate; consequently, a large amount of working medium is discharged to the environment in the process. However, hydrogen is flammable and explosive, and the discharged gas may be dangerous. If liquid hydrogen is replaced with liquid nitrogen before testing, the operation then becomes complicated, and the loss product or heat leakage cannot respond to the thermal insulation performance of cryogenic vessels for liquid hydrogen. Therefore, a novel method is proposed to evaluate the heat leakage of cryogenic vessels for liquid hydrogen in self-pressurization. In contrast to the current testing methods, the method proposed in this study does not require discharge or exchange of working medium in all test processes. The proposed method is based on one-dimensional heat transfer analysis of cryogenic vessels, which is verified by experiment. When this method is used to predict the heat leakage, the comparison with the experimental data of the standard method shows that the maximum error of heat leakage is less than 5.0%.
Thermochemical cycles have been predominantly used for energy transformation from heat to stored chemical free energy in the form of hydrogen. The thermochemical cycle based on uranium (UTC), proposed by Oak Ridge National Laboratory, has been considered as a better alternative compared to other thermochemical cycles mainly due to its safety and high efficiency. UTC process includes three steps, in which only the first step is unique. Hydrogen production apparatus with hectogram reactants was designed in this study. The results showed that high yield hydrogen was obtained, which was determined by drainage method. The results also indicated that the chemical conversion rate of hydrogen production was in direct proportion to the mass of $Na_2CO_3$, while the solid product was $Na_2UO_4$, instead of $Na_2U_2O_7$. Nevertheless the thermochemical cycle used for hydrogen generation can be closed, and chemical compounds used in these processes can also be recycled. So the cycle with $Na_2UO_4$ as its first reaction product has an advantage over the proposed UTC process, attributed to the fast reaction rate and high hydrogen yield in the first reaction step.
The four-bed PSA process using a layered bed of activated carbon and zeolite 5A was studied to produce a high purity hydrogen product from SMR off-gas. At a desired product purity (99.999%+), the recovery increased with decreasing the linear velocity. However, the difference of the increasing of the recovery became smaller with the decreasing of the linear velocity and then was similar from below the linear velocity 3.9 cm/s. When the adsorbents, the feed gas composition, and the operating conditions are given, the residence time is mainly a function for design of the PSA bed size. The minimum residence time exists to obtain the maximum recovery at desired product purity.

Nowadays, the concern on the environmental load of bleaching process gave rise to the process of ECF(elemental chlorine free) and TCF(total clorine free). These sequences are based on oxygen-derived compounds such as oxygen, ozone, and hydrogen peroxide which is used as a typical eco-friendly bleaching agent. In this study, paper mulberry pulp was bleached with hydrogen peroxide and some bleaching process were accompanied with ultrasonication in order to increase the bleaching efficiency. The best bleaching efficiency of paper mulberry pulp was obtained in the condition of hydrogen peroxide and ultrasonication(20 kHz) bleaching system at $45^{\circ}C$ for 30 min. The brightness and kappa number of paper mulberry pulp were gained to 5.09% and 3.52 respectively. and yield was slightly loosed to 2%. Therefore, the efficiency of hydrogen peroxide and ultrasonication bleaching system of paper mulberry pulp was superior to the conventional hydrogen peroxide bleaching system. Magnesium sulfate acted as a bleaching stabilizer for the increasement of yield. As a result, the yield and viscosity were increased to 2.2% and 12% respectively.
