통발에 대한 낙지의 입망 행동과 어획성능 (Entering behavior and fishing efficiency of common octopus, Octopus minor to cylindric trap)

  • The behavior patterns of common octopus, Octopus minor to a cylindric trap were examined in the water tank using a video camera in order to know entering mechanism to the trap and to improve it. Fishing efficiency by 2 kinds of traps(A: 3 entrances, B: 2 entrances) was investigated in the coastal area of Deugryang Bay from May to July, 2005. Common octopus tends to approach by swimming more than walking towards trap. When they approached to the trap, they showed much more behaviors that sate at the around than upper part of it. Approaching behaviors of common octopus was more vigorous at nighttime than daytime on the trap, they showed the most vigorous action between 2 am and 4 am of the day. The rate of staying 30 seconds over around the trap was 41.5% in the nighttime. CPUE(g/trap) of common octopus caught by A type trap was 21.4% higher than the B type trap but there was no difference on the significance level of 5% by the ANOVA. Catch rate of common octopus and by-catch species caught by the A type trap were 97.2%, three and 98.7%, two for B type trap, respectively.

The Association Between Weekend Catch-Up Sleep and Depression by Age Group in Korean Adults

  • Objectives : We aimed to explore weekend catch-up sleep (CUS) by age and to find out the association between CUS and depression by the age group and weekday sleep duration (SD). Methods : Using data from the 2016-2018 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, the CUS by age of 16,174 subjects was investigated, and the depression data of 11,088 subjects were analyzed. CUS was calculated as the weekend sleep duration minus weekday sleep duration (SD). The mean of CUS and weekday SD in depression group and non-depression group was compared by early, middle, and late adulthood groups, and logistic regression analysis was performed to investigate the effect of CUS on the depression by age group when weekday SD was insufficient. Results : The CUS tended to decrease continuously with age, the mean of CUS in the late adult group was the shortest. However, the average SD, adjusted for weekend CUS, was the shortest in the middle adulthood group. Overall, the sleep durations were shorter in the depression group than in the non-depression group, but the CUS difference between the two groups was significantly only in the middle adulthood. The risk of depression was significantly higher when weekend CUS was less than 1hour with a short weekday SD of less than 6hours (OR 2.44, 95% CI: 1.78-3.35), and this finding was significant in all adult groups. Conclusions : The findings of this study suggest that short weekday SD and inadequate weekend CUS are associated with depression and that CUS is an option to compensate for sleep deprivation and prevent depression.

통발에 대한 어류의 행동과 어획성능에 관한 연구 (The Behaviour of Fishes to the Traps and Their Catch Ability)

  • 모형통발에 대한 새우의 행동에 관한 수조실험과 민꽃게를 주대상으로 하고 붕장어 등을 혼획할 수 있는 실물 통발에 의한 시험을 한 바는 대략 다음과 같다. 1. 모형통발 실험에서 나일론 망지, 폴리에틸렌망지 및 면망지등 망지의 재료를 달리한 경우 입망마리수의 차이가 거의 없었으나 입구의 형태에서는 밑판의 경사 각도가 클수록 입망마리수와 도피율이 낮았다. 원추형 입구에서는 각주형입구보다 도피율이 낮았다. 2. 미끼의 종류에 대한 실험에서는 바지락, 새우, 전갱이, 고등어, 어류의 내장 및 족발등 여러 가지 미끼에 대한 선택성을 실험하였는데 미끼의 종류 보다는 신선도가 더 중요한 것 같이 생각된다. 3. 5가지 실물통발을 사용하여 실지시험한 결과에서는 양쪽에 입구가 있는 원추형(A형), 입구가 양쪽에 있는 각주형(C형) 및 C형에 혀그물이 달린 D형에서 민꽃게의 어획이 좋았고, 입구가 웃면에만 어주형(B형)과 철틀을 달아 2층으로 한 E형에서 어획이 나쁘다. 4. 붕장어의 어획은 A형, D형에서 많고, B형 E형에서 적은 경향이 있으나 C형은 특이하게 A형보다 어획이 적을뿐 다른 어느 형과도 유의차를 보이지 않는다. 5. B형, E형은 고기의 입망 어려운 반면 A형 C형은 고기의 입망이 쉬우나 도피도 쉬우며, 특히 C형은 도피가 더욱 쉽다. 결국 도피는 각주형 통발 보다 원추형 통발에서 더 어렵고, 혀그물이 없는 것보다 있는 것에서 더 어려운 것으로 나타났다.

소형어선에 의한 가다랑어 (Euthynnus pelamis)의 어황과 수온 (Relationships between Fishing Condition and Sea Surface Temperature for Skipjack(Euthynnus pelamis) Caught by Small Fishing Boats)

  • 일본(日本) 관동근해(關東近海)에서 끌낚시어업에 의해 어획되는 가다랑어의 어획량변동 및 어장의 형성과 수온과의 관계를 파악할 목적으로, 가다랑어를 주어획대상으로 하는 소형어선 38척의 7년간 (1982~1988년)의 일별 어획자료와 치바(千葉)현 수산시험장(水産試驗場) 발행의 어해황속보 자료를 이용하여, 가다랑어의 년별 및 어기별 어획량 변동과 어장형성과 수온과의 관계에 대해서 해석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 가다랑어 년평균어획량은 151,375.1kg 였다. 어획량의 년변동은, 1984년까지는 증가하다가 1985년에는 50%이하로 감소하고, 1986년에 약간 회복된 이후 증감을 되풀이 하다가 1988년에는 1984년의 수준까지 회복하였다. 조업척수가 많은 해에는 어획량도 많아지는 경향은 있지만, 1985년에는 조업척수는 평관보다 많은데 어획량은 평균보다 낮다. 이것은 CPUE에 대해서도 마찬가지이다. 이것은 해에 따른 가다랑어의 내유량과 어장까지의 거리의 차이에 의한 것이라고 사료된다. 2. 가다랑어 어획량의 어기별변동은, 초어기(1, 2, 3월)의 일평균어획량은 894.6kg인 반면, 성어기(4,5월)에는 3,666.0kg으로 4배이상의 어획이 있다가, 종어기(6, 7월)에 접어들면서 767.9kg로 줄어들면서 어장이 점차 소멸한다. 초어기는 가다랑어의 북상기이기 때문에 연안해역에서의 어장의 형성은 충분하지 않고, 어장의 위치에 따라서 조업 불가능한 날이 많은 반면, 성어기에는 어장분포의 상태가 양호하기 때문에, 총조업일수, 일별조업척수, 어획량 및 CPUE는 다른 어기보다 높고, 안정되어 있었다. 3. 어장에서의 연평균수온은 $19.0{\sim}20.2^{\circ}C$의 범위이고, 1983년을 제외한 각 해의 평균수온은 $19.0{\sim}19.9^{\circ}C$이다. 소또보(外房)해역에서의 가다랑어의 적수온은 $19^{\circ}C$ 내외인데, 이 적수온대가 출현하는 시기와 장소를 추찰하는 일은 효율적인 조업을 하기 위한 중요한 요소이다. 소또보(外房)해역에서의 수온변동은 쿠로시오의 유형에 영향을 받고, 그위에 쿠로시오는 근해가다랑어 등 외양성어류의 어장형성에 매우 중요한 요소이다. 각 해의 조업기간중, 쿠로시오 유형이 B형(型) 또는 C형(型)으로 추이한 경우(1980년, 1984년, 1988년, 1991년)에는 비교적 어획량이 많다. 반면, 어기초의 쿠로시오 유형이 N형(型)으로 추이한 경우 (1980년, 1992년)에는, 조업첫날이 늦어져서 어기가 단축되기 때문에 흉어(凶漁)가 되는 경향이 있다. 또, 조업기간중 쿠로시오 유형이 N형(型) 주체로 추이한 경우에는(1981년, 1989년), 가다랑어의 어장이 형성되기 어렵게되어 흉어(凶漁)로될 경향이 있다. 4. 어장에서의 수온범위는, 3월이 $17.0{\sim}19.0^{\circ}C$, 4월이 $17.5{\sim}20.5^{\circ}C$ 그리고 5월이 $17.5{\sim}23.0^{\circ}C$로 점차 수온범위가 커지다가, 6월에는 $21.0{\sim}23.5^{\circ}C$$21.0^{\circ}C$ 이상의 수온대에서만 어장이 형성된다. 이것은 3월~6월에는 해면수온의 상승기인 동시에 가다랑어가 북상하는 시기에 해당되기 때문에 점차 어장까지의 거리도 가까워지고, 어장에서의 수온도 고온의 모드로 변해간다.

태평양 수역 우리나라 다랑어선망어업의 선박 역량에 따른 조업 효율성 분석 (Fishing efficiency by vessel capacity of Korean tuna purse seiners operating in the western and central Pacific Ocean)

  • Tuna purse seine fishery in the western and central Pacific Ocean (WCPO) has been rapidly developed since early 1980s due to massive investment of major distant water fishing nations, and catch by purse seine fishery operating in the WCPO accounts for nearly half of the world's tuna total catch. As fishing efficiency is reflected by not only improving of individual vessel's capacity but also increasing number of active vessel, it is essential to understand vessel capacity for reliable assessment result on how fishery affects stock status of target species. In this study, fishing efficiency was analyzed by main factors which are representative of vessel capacity using fishing data and vessel information related to Korean tuna purse seine fishery operating in the western and central Pacific Ocean from 1992 to 2014. It showed that fishing efficiency of vessel tends to be higher when having larger vessel tonnage, higher engine power, lower vessel age and larger length of vessel. As for fishing efficiency by set type, CPUE of associated set with floating objects was generally higher than that of free school set, and CPUE of free school set seemed to have a greater effect on engine power and vessel age compared to other factors.

남해도 주변 해역에서 새우조망으로 조사한 수산자원의 분포 및 계절 변화 (Distribution and seasonal variations of fisheries resources captured by the beam trawl in Namhae island, Korea)

  • It was turned out by the beam trawl survey in 2009 that flora of three phylum 16 species and fauna of eight taxa 68 families 97 species were inhabited in the Seomjin River estuary and western coastal waters of Namhae island. Winter season showed the most various appearance of species with 63 species and markedly several kinds of algae species, while summer season showed the lowest number of species with 44 species. However, the indices of species diversity and evenness were highest in summer, and vice versa in winter. Major dominant species were Crangon hakodatei, Leiognathus nuchalis, Asterias amurensis, Thryssa kammalensis, Luidia quinaria, Amblychaeturichthys hexanema, Oratosquilla oratoria, Charybdis bimaculata, Cynoglossus joyneri, Pennahia agentata. The 10 dominant species occupied at 81.4% of catch in number and 49.0% of catch in weight. There were seasonal fluctuations and differences by station in the Seomjin River estuary and western coastal waters of Namhae island, which brought to the difference of length structures, that is, bigger-sized individuals of major dominant species at station A (near to river estuary) than station C (near to ocean). Species compositions by season and by station were separated to two groups. Winter season showed a separated species composition from other seasons and station A exhibited a different species composition from other stations, which was located at near to the Seomjin River estuary.

붉은대게 자원관리를 위한 어업관리수단별 생물경제적 효과분석 (A bioeconomic analysis on the effectiveness of fisheries management measures for red snow crab Chionoecetes japonicus)

  • In this study, internationally widely utilized bioeconomic models were used to make a comparison and analyze the effectiveness of red snow crab fisheries management measures. As a specific effect analysis, biological and economic effects of both total allowable catch (TAC) and effort reduction management measures were analyzed simultaneously. Model results showed that the red snow crab biomass would be decreased from 106,000 tons to 73,076 tons after ten years when the TAC is set to and maintained at the current level of 26,000 tons. The amount of biomass would be increased to 125,316 tons when the level of TAC is set to 22,000 tons. In cases of reduced fishing efforts, a 30% decrease from the current level would result in greater biomass and NPV would be also estimated at the highest level. In addition, a sensitivity analysis by market price was conducted to analyze the minimum TAC level of the red snow crab offshore pot fishery. Results showed that the minimum TAC level would be 8,210 tons when the market price increased by 30% and it would be also 15,247 tons when the market price decreased by 30%. Furthermore, results of the sensitivity analysis by fishing cost showed that the minimum TAC level was analyzed to be 13,857 tons when the fishing cost increased by 30% from the current level.

유도초음파의 감쇠계수에 대한 실험적 고찰 (Experimental Investigation for the Attenuation Coefficient of Ultrasonic Guided Wave)

  • 일반적인 산업현장에서 내부결함 평가를 위해 사용되어온 유도초음파기법은 비결함 지역에서는 에너지 감쇠를 고려하지 않고 적용되어 왔다. 결함 지역에서의 신호는 산란과 반사에 의해서 분명한 감쇠가 발생하지만 비결함 지역에서도 작은 감쇠가 발생한다. 또한 분산선도에서 판파(Lamb wave)는 각 두께, 주파수에 의해 분산성이 달라지기에 각 모드에 적합한 감쇠계수를 찾는 것은 중요하다. 이를 위해 접촉식 PZT(piezoelectric)센서를 이용한 pitch-catch 방식으로 거리에 따른 각 모드의 감쇠계수를 구하였다. 본 연구에서는 흔히 쓰이는 알루미늄과 구리판으로, 두께 차이, 모드 차이, 재질 차이에 의한 실험적인 감쇠율을 구하는데 중점을 두었다. 그 결과 각 변수에 따라 감쇠계수는 달라지며, 정량화가 필요하다는 것을 확인하였다.

남서부 동해에서 1970년대의 기후체제전환이 생태계의 구조에 미친 영향 (Effects of Climatic Regime Shift on the Structure of Marine Ecosystem in the Southwestern East Sea during the 1970s)

  • The changes in structure and abundance of taxon or species groups in the East Sea ecosystem were compared between pre- and post-Climatic Regime Shift (CRS) occurred in the mid 1970s using an ECOPATH model. Although the East Sea ecosystem consisted of primary producers, primary consumers, secondary consumers and terminal consumers most species groups were classified as secondary consumers. The mean trophic level between pre- and post-CRS increased from 3.09 during the pre-CRS period to 3.28 during the post-CRS period. Total biomass of the species groups in the East Sea ecosystem increased by $9\%$ due to the CRS, and total catch increased by $48\%.$ The most significant differences between pre- and post-CRS models occurred at the mid/high trophic levels occupied by fishes and cephalopods. Relative contribution of the different species groups to the total energy flow was calculated for the trophic level III. As a result, the status by the dominant species in the East Sea ecosystem shifted from cephalopods to walleye pollock due to the CRS. Relative contribution of 5 species, which were commercially important, such as Pacific saury, Pacific sardine, filefish, walleye pollock and sandfish in trophic level III, were also changed due to the CRS. Finally, the CRS turned out to cause large variations in biomass and catch of fisheries resources as well as the status and role of the major species.

중층 트롤의 어법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Fishing Method of the Midwater Trawl -On the meneuveravilities of the fishing boat under operation-)

  • Due to depletion of fish resources as time goes on, the trawl fishing industries which have caught the demersal fish is confronting with financial difficulties. For the purpose of breaking these difficulties, trawlers are expanding the fishing targets to the midwater from bottom stock. The trawlers become to be able to detect the fish schools not only vertical but also horizontal direction by equipping the sonar system on board. Even though the operator locates the fish school by sonar, it is not easy to make a desirable catch of the fish school which is detected, for the reason of the maneuverring characteristics of trawler. For the purpose of enhancing the efficiency of a fish catch, the auther performed a series of on board experiments to investigate the maneuverablilites of midwater trawaler. The obtained results are summerized as follows: 1. The higher the RPM of main engine, the smaller the magnitude of turning circle. And it is smaller in the right than in the left turning 2. Towing speed varies irregularly under turning novenment. When the RPM of main engine being 560, 680 the angular velocities are 11.3deg/min, 22.5deg/min respectively. 3. The difference of new course distance between calculated by maneuverring indices and measured by experimental ship is high when altering course being large and towing speed low. 4. The faster the towing speed is, the shorter the new course distance becomes. When towing speed is same in right and left turning movement, the now course distance is shorter in case of right turning movement than in left. 5. It is considered to be convenient for a navigator to utilize the curves for altering course in order to steer the ship rapidly and accurately.
