The purpose of this study is to propose policy implications for improving the efficiency of corporate income tax management in Vietnam, by analyzing the study factors affecting the efficiency of corporate income tax management (evidence from Mekong Delta provinces, Vietnam). This study used a primary data collection method and collected data of 329 enterprises, including 49 joint-stock companies and 280 limited liability companies in 3 provinces - Tra Vinh province, Soc Trang province, and Ben Tre province. By using the binary regression method, the author discovered eight factors affecting the efficiency of corporate income tax management in the Mekong Delta region such as the time of operation of the enterprises, type of business, gender, business results, tax amount temporarily paid, compliance with tax policies, business scale, and tax debt ratio. From the above research results, the author proposes policies to support Tax Departments to improve the efficiency of corporate income tax management in the Mekong Delta region in the future. These policies include - for further promoting the tax policy propaganda to enterprises, tax authorities need to promptly handle tax arrears, enhance the inspection of tax debt enterprises, and focus on the business models, gender, age of the business owners, etc.

The study answers the awareness of taxpayers, tax authority services, tax socialization, tax collection, and account representative's controlling (monitoring) for compliance of the corporate Taxpayer. The study also examines the moderating effect of the tax audit to control the corporate Taxpayer's compliance. In this study, the method of non-probability sampling was used. The research data was gathered by handing out questionnaires at the Medan Kota Tax Office in Indonesia. The SEM method was used for data analysis through Lisrel 8.8 program. The findings of the study concluded that tax collection has a significant positive effect on corporate taxpayer's compliance and Tax audit moderates the relation between tax authority services and the account representative's controlling (monitoring) with corporate taxpayers' compliance. Also, tax socialization and account representative's controlling (monitoring) have a positive effect on the corporate taxpayer's compliance. In contrast, variables of taxpayer's awareness and tax authority services have a negative impact. Furthermore, tax audit does not moderate the relation between taxpayer awareness, tax socialization, and tax collection with the corporate taxpayer's compliance at Medan Kota Tax Office Indonesia. The findings suggest the Indonesian policymakers and tax authorities must create corporate legislation to handle compliance by leveraging the loopholes in tax legislation law and the tax audit system.
Purpose - The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of book-tax conformity on conforming tax avoidance and non-conforming tax avoidance. Design/methodology/approach - This study uses financial data from 1996 to 2019 of 34 countries. We regress conforming or non-conforming tax avoidance on book-tax conformity. We use the book-tax conformity measure developed by Atwood et al. (2010), the non-conforming tax avoidance measure developed by Desai and Dharmapala (2006), and the conforming tax avoidance measure developed by Badertscher et al. (2019). Findings - First, book-tax conformity has a significant positive relationship with non-conforming tax avoidance. Second, book-tax conformity is not statistically related to conforming tax avoidance. Research implications or Originality - While prior research focuses on the effect of book-tax conformity on earnings quality, we examine on the effect on tax avoidance. Furthermore, this study is expected to provide important policy implications regarding the types of tax avoidance strategies that tax authorities should pay attention to. Our results imply that tax authorities in countries with high book-tax conformity should pay more attention to non-conforming tax avoidance than to conforming tax avoidance.

This study investigates the determinants of the likelihood of a tax re-audit in Korea. It adopts a researcher-administered questionnaire survey method for data collection. The survey questionnaire is randomly distributed to 1,120 individuals with tax-related knowledge and experience. Using a final sample of 342 responses, we conduct a cross-sectional regression analysis to test our hypotheses. The results show that the level of tax non-compliance significantly affects the likelihood of a tax re-audit. This finding suggests that the increase in re-audits in Korea is attributable to the tendency of the tax authority to conduct a re-audit to detect taxpayers' non-compliance behavior by excessively broadening the scope of re-audits. This study also finds that the level of tax non-compliance is influenced by the perception of procedural unfairness, measured by operational inconsistency and regulatory lack of clarity. Lastly, the results reveal that the level of tax non-compliance mediates the relationship between the perception of procedural unfairness and likelihood of a tax re-audit. This finding indicates that enhancing procedural fairness could fundamentally reduce unnecessary re-audits that infringe on the rights of taxpayers, as the likelihood of a tax re-audit is not solely determined by the level of tax non-compliance but also by perceived procedural fairness.
Purpose: To know the existence of tax services, it is seen as a redistribution of income to ensure the implementation of national development and social welfare carried out by the state to the community and determine the effect of the quality of tax services, tax audits and tax collection against either simultaneously or partially against the tax ratio in the area of the Primary Tax Service Office of West Makassar. Research Design Data and Methodology: The tax revenue rate is too low based on the Revenue Statistics in Asian and Pacific report, released by the OECD at the end of July 2017. Tax revenue growth is also difficult to increase because of typical inelastic tax revenues. Consequently, tax growth cannot exceed GDP growth. The government boosted the tax ratio by minimizing tax payment irregularities and optimizing tax data utilization as well as distribution income for national social welfare. Transforming all sectors in the real economy so that it is affordable to tax, diversification of taxation is directed towards new sources of economic growth. The data analysis method used is multiple linear regression. Results: The results showed that the quality of tax services and tax audits were dominant in determining tax ratios, whereas Tax collection offers a significant but lower value. Conclusion: The existence of tax services, it is seen as a redistribution of income to ensure the implementation of national development and social welfare carried out by the state to the community.Quality and service in taxation services to create and maintain trust and cooperation relationships between tax officials and taxpayers.
This paper empirically examines whether the tax effect of indirect tax reductions such as reserves deductible and direct tax reductions such as tax credits and tax reductions is significantly associated with value relevance. That is, direct and indirect tax reductions bear upon an increase in accounting earnings and decrease in cash outflows through reducing tax burdens. The empirical result in this paper shows that firm value is significantly related to the tax effect of reserves for business improvement and other tax reserves, which comprise parts of the book value of equity through tax benefits, but is not significantly related to the tax credits and reserves deductible as necessary expenses that comprise accounting earnings. This paper also analyzes the difference in value relevance between direct tax reductions and indirect tax reductions(That is, Hypothesis No.5). We find that there are no significant differences between direct tax reductions and indirect tax reductions. Because the regressive coefficients of direct tax reductions and indirect tax reductions are not significantly.

We examine the effects of the complexity of tax-related information on the issuance of analyst's pre-tax income forecast and its value relevance. If analysts respond adequately to the needs of investors, they are more likely to provide a pre-tax income forecast. The provision of a pre-tax income forecast may indicate analysts' confidence in assessing the quality of earnings. Thus, investors, in turn, would be more confident in the analysts' pre-tax income forecasts if analysts provide both pre-tax and earnings forecasts than only the latter. Using a sample of Korean listed companies for 2005-2014, we find that analysts are likely to provide an implicit tax forecast when the volatility of the effective tax rate is low and the book-tax differences are small. We also find that when analysts provide pre-tax and after tax income forecasts, the value relevance for unexpected earnings increases. These results indicate that analysts are likely to be interested in corporate tax information and the complexity of tax-related information affects the availability of implicit tax forecasts. Furthermore, this study provides empirical evidence that when analysts provide both pre-tax and after tax income forecasts, investors have more confidence in analysts' earnings forecasts, which results in greater investors' responses.
The transfer pricing mechanism is a tool commonly used to transfer the tax base from countries with high taxation in countries with low taxation. In many countries, this financial operations generate significant tax revenue losses. In an attempt to limit tax revenue losses, many public authorities have introduced regulations on transfer pricing, but the effectiveness of these rules has proved limited, and they contributed to the increasing complexity of tax laws and to the appearance of additional costs for companies. Historically, transfer pricing (TP) was not a substantial issue in Mongolia. The tax legislation contains basic TP rules, but there is limited guidance and enforcement in practice. At the moment, Mongolian tax authorities are not conducting specific transfer pricing audits. Nevertheless, tax authorities are starting to pay more attention to transactions between related parties and potential transfer pricing adjustments. This study examines a transfer pricing regulations of Mongolia.
The existing tax law provides that alloted resident tax on corporation tax is apportioned in accordance with the number of employees and total building area as of the end of business year. Through a case analysis, however, this study found that such apportionment is not applied to businesses whose operation was already withdrawn as of the end of business year. To solve this problem, the study proposed that the apportionment of alloted resident tax on corporation tax should be made in accordance with the number of employees and total building area in the middle of business year and a standard of corporation tax assessment, that is, sales assessed according to the value-added tax law. This proposal already proved to be reasonable by lots of actual cases that showed the realization of balance in taxation. To make more precise standards of the above mentioned apportionment, then, the study proposed that in the ordinance of the local tax law, 'as of the end of business year' should be replaced by 'in the middle of business year'. In addition, 'in the middle of business year' should be defined as 'in the period of continuous business' from the date of business end in the previous year to the date of business end in the present year and the length of the period should be calculated by month. These moves would bring more transparent and balanced local tax assignment than present under the local tax law.
