  • 본 논문에서는 대기 전력 상태에서의 효율 향상을 위한 고정 스위치 On-Time 제어 기법을 소개한다. 정격부하에서 효율이 최적화된 제어 기법들은 경부하조건에서 효율이 매우 저감된다는 한계가 있었다. 이를 해결하기 위해 Burst Mode와 같은 기법들이 연구되었으나 경부하 조건에서 여전히 효율이 크게 낮아진다는 한계가 있었다. 이를 해결하기 위해 제안된 방식을 150V 입력에 5V-3A에서 효율 최적화되도록 설계된 하드웨어 프로토타입을 이용해 경부하 조건에서 효율 향상을 실험적으로 검증하였다.

Mitigation of Voltage Unbalances in Bipolar DC Microgrids Using Three-Port Multidirectional DC-DC Converters

  • In this paper, a new three-port multidirectional DC-DC converter is proposed for integrating an energy storage system (ESS) to a bipolar DC microgrid (BPDCMG). The proposed converter provides a voltage-balancing function for the BPDCMG and adjusts the charge of the ESS. Thanks to the multi-functional operation of the proposed converter, the conversion stages of the system are reduced. In addition, the efficiency and weight of the system are improved. Therefore, this converter has a significant capability when it comes to use in portable BPDCMGs such as electric DC ships. The converter modes are analyzed and small-signal models of the converter in each of the independent modes are extracted. Finally, comprehensive simulation studies are carried out and a BPDCMG laboratory prototype is implemented in order to verify the performance of the proposed voltage balancer using the burst mode control scheme.

  • ATM(Asynchronous Transfer Mode) 망은 사용자의 요구에 의해 대역폭을 할당한 수 있으므로 전송에 필요한 대역폭이 수시로 변화하는 MPEG 비디오를 전송하는데 적합하다. 그러나 MPEG 트래픽(traffic)은 셀(cell) 발생량의 변화가 심한 군집성 (burst)이 큰 트래픽 이기에 전송 품질을 유지하면서 동시에 망의 대역폭을 효율적으로 사용하는 전송을 구현하기가 매우 힘들다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 상반되는 두 가지의 목적을 수행하기 위하여 새로운 대역폭 할당 기법을 제안하였다. 사용자에게 최소한의 품질을 보장하면서 망에 대역폭의 여유가 있는 경우 고품질의 서비스가 가능토록 하는 방안으로 ATM 망의 CBR(Constant Bit Rate) 서비스와 VBR(Variable Bit Rate) 서비스를 복합적으로 사용하는 방법을 제안하였다. 이의 구현을 위하여 2 계층 구조의 MPEG 부호화기를 설계, 구현하였고 모의 실험을 통하여 기존의 단일 계층 CBR 서비스에 비하여 품질과 망의 효율성에 있어 충분히 우수함을 확인하여 그 효용성을 증명하였다.

Considerable reduction of ripple transfer characteristics of the LED Back Light Unit Driver (LED Back Light Unit Driver 회로의 안정화 방법)

  • In order to achieve low power consumption and the uniform power spectrum of LED BLU (Back Light Unit) system, new circuits with a 2 stage L-C (Inductor-Capacitor) coupler have been proposed. From the simulation results based on our proposed model, the ripple power of the L-C regulation-embedded BLU circuit shows a dramatic reduction by more than 89.3% as compared to the normal BLU (without L-C circuits). This indicates that the proposed circuit is very promising for the realization of high-efficiency BLU circuits.

Geometric Characteristic of Wall-thinning Defect Causing Circumferential Crack in Pipe Elbows (원주방향 균열이 발생되는 곡관 감육부의 형상적 특성)

  • The objective of this study is to classify the geometry of wall-thinning defect that causes a circumferential crack in the pipe elbows subjected to internal pressure. For this objective, first of all a criterion to determine the occurrence of circumferential cracking at wall-thinned area was developed based on finite element simulation for burst tests of pipe elbow specimens that showed axial and circumferential cracking at wall-thinned area. In addition, parametric finite element analysis including various wall-thinning geometries, locations, and pipe geometries was conducted and the wall-thinning geometries that initiate circumferential crack were determined by applying the criterion to the results of parametric analysis. It showed that the circumferential crack occurs at wall-thinning defect, which has a deep, wide, and short geometry. Also, it is indicated that the pipe elbows with larger radius to thickness ratio are more susceptible to circumferential cracking at wall-thinned area.

  • ABR uses the extra network resource more efficiently which uses not the guaranteed service in ATM and supports the best effort which the characteristics of application is bursty and maximum transfer rate is high. Switches for using ABR flow control differentiate EFCI switches (which supply only the congestion state information) from ER switches (which supply fair rate to source). This paper analyses the switches operation technique for efficiently managing ABR traffic in case which the network mixes EFCI switches and ER switches in ATM.

  • In this paper, we have presented a test- ing method for a kind of asynchronous circuits. Tar- get circuit model is the 3D machine that is one of the most successful implementation of extended burst-mode (XBM) machines. We present a high-level test generation method for the 3D machine using the specification of the circuit. We also present a gate-level test pattern generation method using a synchronous test pattern generator. Experimental results show that the combination of the above two methods achieves high fault coverage over 3D machines and saves test generation time.

  • 본 논문에서는 고주파수 구동 및 고전력밀도 아답터의 경부하 효율 개선을 위한 One Chip 디지털 통합제어 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안 회로는 CRM PFC Boost 컨버터와 3-Level LLC 공진형 컨버터를 하나의 소형 MCU로 구성된 디지털 제어기를 사용함으로써 고주파수 구동을 가능케 하며, 주파수 제한 및 Burst mode로 구성된 알고리즘을 통해 높은 스위칭 주파수로 인해 발생하는 경부하 시 효율 개선을 통해 수동 소자와 제어단 부피 저감으로 고 전력밀도 달성이 가능하다. 최종적으로 제안 회로의 타당성 검증을 위하여 200W급 아답터의 전원회로를 위한 시작품을 제작하여 고찰된 실험결과를 제안한다.

  • This paper proposes the new type LED driver modularization for illumination LED driver. The proposed LED driver circuit insulates a hot GND of AC input power and a cold GND of LED driver part by using a fly-back converter. In order to control easily the current of the LED, the fly-back converter is operated in the discontinuous mode with excellent dynamic characteristics, and the characteristics of the LED are verified after the closed loop control is performed using a KIA2431. The LED driver module allows the wide AC power input ranges and realizes the burst dimming function which directly regulates a PWM control IC. This paper describes the operation principle of the LED driver module and it is proved the usefulness through the real model with experimentation. Besides, this paper proposes the multi-channel LED driver which the miniaturized and modularized LED driver module are connected by parallel, and verified its propriety by experiments.

A Study on the CLR Performance Improvement for VBR Traffic in the Wireless ATM Access Network (무선 ATM 가입자망에서 VBR 트래픽의 CLR 성능개선)

  • In this paper we suggest error control scheme to improve CLR performance degradation on wireless ATM access networks which consist of access node and wireless channel. Based on the cell scale and hurst scale, traffic model of wireless ATM access network is analyzed. The CLR equation due to buffer overflow for wireless access node is derived for VBR traffic. the CLR equation due to random bit errors and burst errors for wireless channel is derived. Using the CLR equation for both access node and wireless channel, the CLR equation of wireless ATM access network is derived, and we evaluate the CLR performance on the wireless ATM access networks with conventional SR ARQ scheme and recommended error control scheme, that is, Type I Hybrid ARQ scheme. It is confirmed that CLR performance of the access networks with recommended error control schemes is superior to that of access networks with conventional error control scheme.
