넓은 당량비 구간에서 수소함유량에 따른 합성가스(H2/CO)/공기 예혼합화염의 연소속도 및 화염구조에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Laminar Burning Velocity and Flame Structure with H2 Content in a Wide Range of Equivalence Ratio of Syngas(H2/CO)/Air Premixed Flames)

  • In this study, the laminar burning velocity of syngas fuel($H_2/CO$) and flame structure with various hydrogen contents were studied using both experimental measurements and detailed kinetic analysis. The laminar burning velocities were measured by the angle method of Bunsen flame configuration and the numerical calculations including chemical kinetic analysis were made using CHEMKIN Package with USC-Mech II. A wide range of syngas mixture compositions such as $H_2$ : CO = 10 : 90, 25 : 75, 50 : 50, 75:25 and equivalence ratios from lean condition of 0.5 to rich condition of 5.0 have been considered. The experimental results of burning velocity were in good agreement with previous other research data and numerical simulation. Also, it was shown that the experimental measurements of laminar burning velocity linearly increased with the increment of $H_2$ content although the burning velocity of hydrogen is faster than the carbon monoxide above 10 times. This phenomenon is attributed to the rapid production of hydrogen related radicals such as H radical at the early stage of combustion, which is confirmed the linear increase of radical concentrations on kinetic analysis. Particular concerns in this study are the characteristics of burning velocity and flame structure different from lean condition for rich condition. The decrease of OH radicals and double peaks are observed with $H_2$ content in rich condition once $H_2$ fraction exceeds over threshold.

구강작열감증후군 환자의 임상적 특징 및 음허증 평가 (Clinical Characteristics and Evaluation of Yin-deficiency Syndrome in Patients with Burning Mouth Syndrome)

  • Objectives : This study was designed to investigate the clinical characteristics and usefulness of comprehensive diagnosis of Yin-deficiency and heart rate variability in patients with burning mouth syndrome (BMS). Methods : We surveyed 30 burning mouth syndrome patients visiting the Oral Diseases Clinic of Kyung Hee University Oriental Medicine Hospital from April to September of 2011. The subjects were evaluated on self-assessed severity of burning mouth syndrome and xerostomia using visual analogue scale (VAS) score and Yin-deficiency condition (based on the 10-item Yin-deficiency questionnaire). Salivary function was measured by the unstimulated salivary flow rate (USFR), and heart rate variability (HRV) parameters were recorded by SA-2000E (Medicore Co., Ltd., Korea). Results : There were substantial significant positive correlations between burning sensation VAS scores in mouth and Yin-deficiency scores. There was significant negative correlation between xerostomia VAS score and USFR. Compared to the normal range of total power (TP) in HRV parameters, the burning mouth syndrome patients showed significant lower values of TP. Conclusions : The results of this study suggest that comprehensive diagnosis of Yin-deficiecny and HRV parameters are useful in diagnosing of burning mouth syndrome patients. Therefore, we assume that improvement of Yin-deficiency condition can be a potentially effective way to treat burning mouth syndrome.

  • Burning velocities of conventional methane flame and oxygen-enriched methane flame were determined by experimentally and numerically at atmospheric pressure in order to examine the validity of various detailed reaction mechanisms in oxygen-enriched flame. The schlieren system was adopted to obtain the burning velocity of flame stabilized on a circular nozzle. Premix code was employed to compute the burning velocity. Three reaction mechnisms were tested at several oxygen enrichment level, whose names are GRI 3.0, MB(Miller and Bowman) and LKY(Lee Ki Yong) reaction mechanism. Sensitivity analysis was also performed to discriminate dominantly affecting reaction on burning velociy. The results showed that conventional reaction mechanisms originally based on methane-air flame were underpredict the burning velocity at high oxygen-enrichment level. The modified GRI 3.0 reaction mechanism based on our experimental results was suggested and shows a good agreement in estimating the burning velocity and the NO number density of oxygen-enriched flame.

정적연소기에서의 메탄-공기 균질혼합기의 연소특성 분석 (Combustion Characteristics Analysis of Methane-Air Homogeneous Mixture in a Constant Volume Combustion Chamber)

  • In this study, a cylindrical constant volume combustion chamber is used to investigate the flow and combustion characteristics of methane-air homogeneous mixture under various initial charge pressure, excess air ratios and ignition times. The flame and burning speed, mean gas speed are calculated by numerical analysis to analyze the combustion characteristics. It is found that the mean gas velocity during combustion has the maximum value around 300 ms and then decreased gradually on the condition of 10000 ms, and that the combustion duration is shorten and flame speed and burning velocity have the highest value under the conditions of an excess air ratio 1.1, an initial charge pressure of 0.2 MPa and an ignition time of 300 ms in the present study. And, the initial pressure and burning speed are in inverse proportion, so that it is in agreement with Strehlow who presented that the initial pressure and burning speed are in inverse proportion when the burning speed is under 50cm/s.

Chemical Composition of Post-Harvest Biomass Burning Aerosols in Gwangju, Korea

  • The main objective of this study was to investigate the chemical characteristics of post-harvest biomass burning aerosols from field burning of barley straw in late spring and rice straw in late fall in rural area in Korea. 12-hr integrated intensive sampling of $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$ biomass burning aerosols had been conducted continuously at Gwangju, Korea 4-15 June 2001 and 8 October-14 November 2002. The fine and coarse particles of biomass burning aerosols were collected for mass, ionic, elemental, and carbonaceous species analysis. Average fine and coarse mass concentrations of biomass burning aerosols were measured to be 129.6, 24.2 ${{\mu}gm}^{-3}$ in June 2001 and 47.1, 33.2 ${{\mu}gm}^{-3}$ in October to November 2002, respectively. Exceptionally high level of $PM_{2.5}$ concentration up to 157.8 ${{\mu}gm}^{-3}$ well above 24-hour standard was observed during the biomass burning event days under stagnant atmosphere condition. During biomass burning periods dominant ionic species were $Cl^{-}$, ${NO_3}^{-}$, ${SO_4}^{2-}$, and ${NH_4}^{+}$ in fine and coarse mode. In the fine mode $Cl^{-}$ and ${KCl}^{+}$ were unusually rich due to the high content of the semiarid vegetation. High OC values and OC/EC ratios were also measured during the biomass burning periods. Increased amount of fine aerosols with high enrichment, which were originated from biomass burning of post-harvest agricultural waste, resulted in extremely severe particulate air pollution and visibility degradation in the region. Particulate matters from open field burning of agricultural wastes cause great adverse impact on local air quality and regional climate.

  • 본 논문에는 유도탄 사출시스템의 사출성능 향상을 위해 침식연소 현상이 발생하지 않는 상태에서 가스발생기의 압력 기울기를 증가시키는 방법에 대해 기술하였다. 안정연소를 얻기 위해 그레인에 반경방향홀을 뚫는 방법과 그레인의 길이대 직경비를 줄이는 방법을 고안하여 이를 적용, 연소시험을 실시하였다. 시험결과 반경방향홀 그레인을 적용했을 경우 침식연소 방지효과는 좋았으나 사출성능을 저하시키는 쪽으로 성능이 변화하였다. 반면에, 다열형 그레인을 적용시 침식연소 방지효과와 함께 사출성능을 향상시키는데 유용한 것으로 나타났다.

SNG/공기 화염의 층류 연소속도 측정 - 분젠과 구형 화염법 비교 - (Laminar Burning Velocity Measurement of SNG/Air Flames - A Comparison of Bunsen and Spherical Flame Method -)

  • This article describes a comparison on laminar burning velocity measured by Bunsen and spherical flame methods of synthetic natural gas (SNG) with various composition of hydrogen. In this study, the laminar burning velocity measurements were employed by Bunsen burner and cylindrical constant combustor at which flame images were captured by Schlieren system. These results were also compared with numerical based on CHEMKIN package with GRI 3.0, USC-II and UC Sandiego mechanism. In case of spherical flames, the suitable flame radius range and theoretical models were verified using the well-known previous results in methane/air flames. As an experimental condition, hydrogen content of SNG was adjusted 0% to 11%. Equivalence ratios of Bunsen flames were adjusted from 0.8 to 1.6. On the other hand, those of spherical flames were adjusted from 0.6 to 1.4, relatively. From results of this study, the both laminar burning velocities measured in Bunsen and spherical flame methods were resulted in similar tendency. As the hydrogen content increased, the laminar burning velocity also increased collectively. Laminar burning velocity of measured SNG-air flames was best coincided with GRI 3.0 mechanism by comparison of reaction mechanisms.

Manufacturing lightweight aggregate uses high content of sewage sludge for non-structural concrete

  • Sewage sludge and clay used as raw materials in the study. Green aggregates contain different contents by dried weight of the sewage sludge, up to 80 percent is manufactured and burning conditions of soak temperature, soak time and rate of temperature increase. influence of burning condition and mixing ratio on specific gravity of burned aggregate are discussed. The appropriate burning condition to all aggregates is evaluated. Aggregates result form the thermal treatment get specific gravity under 0.8, water absorption fewer than 7.5 percent, and aggregate crushing value from 28 to 53. As the result, aggregates can be available as the lightweight aggregate for non-structural concrete.
