매설가스배관의 지진응답해석 (Earthquake Response Analysis of a Buried Gas Pipeline)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내에서 많이 사용되고 있는 매설가스배관인 X65를 선택하여 매설가스배관의 형태, 매설된 지반의 특성, 단일 및 복합입력지진파 그리고 매설깊이 등을 변수로 하여 시간이력 지진응답해석을 수행하였다. 해석적으로 예측된 변형률 및 상대변위는 국내도시가스 배관의 내진설계 세부기술기준에서 제시하고 있는 허용변형률 및 허용변위역량과 비교하였다. 비교해석결과, 배관의 변형률은 매설깊이와 지반조건에 영향을 받는 것을 알 수 있었다. 상대변위의 경우, 축 방향 상대변위는 매설깊이에 따른 영향을 받지 않는 반면에, 횡 방향 상대변위는 매설깊이와 지반조건에 영향을 받는 것을 알 수 있었다. 결론적으로 본 연구결과는 향후 매설가스배관의 지진건전도 평가에 좋은 자료를 제공할 것으로 사료된다.

구조물 전위상승의 매설깊이 의존특성에 관한 연구 (Research on Buried Depth Dependent Characteristics of Potential Rise for Structure)

  • This paper deals with an approach to the reduction of potential rise according to the buried depth of structure. In order to analyze the surface potential rise of structure, an electrolytic tank which simulates the semi-infinite earth has been used. The potential rise has been measured and analyzed for types of structure using an electrolytic tank experimental apparatus in real time. The structure models were designed through reducing real buildings and fabricated with four types on a scale of one-one hundred sixty. When a test current flowed through structure models, potential gradient was the highest value in case of the outline frame type(structure model A). The distributions of surface potential rise are dependent on the resistivity and absorption percentage in concrete attached to structure model.

  • A failure probability model based on Von-Mises failure criterion and the standard normal probability function is proposed. The effects of varying boundary conditions such as internal fluid pressure, external soil, traffic loads, temperature change and corrosion on failure probability of the buried pipes are systematically investigated. To allow for the uncertainties of the design variables, a reliability analysis technique has been adopted; this also allows calculation of the relative contribution of the random variables and the sensitivity of the failure probability.

The Development and Application of a External Coating for Buried Pipeline Rehabilitation

  • With the development of Chinese petroleum and gas industry, about 20,000 km long-distance pipeline and 250,000 km gathering pipeline have been constructed in China. After operating for many years, most of the coatings on buried pipelines have aged so severe that the steel pipes are subject to corrosion environment underground. Focusing on the need of external coating for buried pipeline rehabilitation, a new type of coating has been developed. The development and application of the coatings has been introduced in this paper.

  • Response analysis of buried pipeline subjected to permanent ground deformation(PGD) due to liquefaction is mainly executed by use of numerical analysis or semi-analytical relationship, When applying these methods, so called interfacial pipelineㆍsoil interaction force plays an dominant part. Currently used interaction force is mode up of indispensable mechanical and physical components for the response analysis of buried pipeline. However, it has somewhat limited applicability to the liquefied region since it is based on the experimental results for the non-liquefied region. Therefore, in this study, improved type of pipelineㆍsoil interaction force is proposed based on the existing interaction force and experimental research accomplishments. Above all, proposed interaction force includes various patterns of PGD or spatial distributions of interaction force caused by the decrease of soil stiffness. Through the comparison of numerical results using the proposed and the existing interaction force, relative influences of interaction force on the response of pipeline are evaluated and noticeable considerations in the application of semi-analytical relationship are discussed. Moreover, analyses due to the change of pipe thickness and burial depth are performed.

토목섬유로 보강된 얕은기초 모래지반의 지지력 (Bearing Capacity of Shallow Foundation on Geosynthetic Reinforced Sand)

  • 느슨한 모래지반에서 보강재 층수 증가와 보강재의 강성과 형태 변화 그리고 얕은 기초 직하에 매설된 연성관의 깊이 등의 변화가 지지력-침하 곡선에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 일련의 모형실험을 수행하였다. 시험결과, 무보강토 경우는 파괴형태가 국부전단으로 나타났으나 보강재 층수가 2층 이상이 되면 파괴형태는 국부전단에서 전반전단으로 바뀌고, 최적보강재 층수는 2층 이며, 지지력 개선에 있어서는 보강재의 초기강성과 형태가 최대인 장강도보다 중요한 것으로 나타났다. 무보강토에서 기초 직하에 연성관이 매설된 경우, 연성관의 매설 깊이가 기초 폭보다 얕으면 지지력과 극한지지력은 현저하게 감소하고, 보강토의 경우 연성관의 매설 깊이가 기초 폭보다 얕으면 파괴형태는 전반전단에서 국부전단으로 바뀌는 것으로 나타났다.

Influence of Lead on Repetitive Behavior and Dopamine Metabolism in a Mouse Model of Iron Overload

  • Exposures to lead (Pb) are associated with neurological problems including psychiatric disorders and impaired learning and memory. Pb can be absorbed by iron transporters, which are up-regulated in hereditary hemochromatosis, an iron overload disorder in which increased iron deposition in various parenchymal organs promote metal-induced oxidative damage. While dysfunction in HFE (High Fe) gene is the major cause of hemochromatosis, the transport and toxicity of Pb in Hfe-related hemochromatosis are largely unknown. To elucidate the relationship between HFE gene dysfunction and Pb absorption, H67D knock-in Hfe-mutant and wild-type mice were given drinking water containing Pb 1.6 mg/ml ad libitum for 6 weeks and examined for behavioral phenotypes using the nestlet-shredding and marble-burying tests. Latency to nestlet-shredding in Pb-treated wild-type mice was prolonged compared with non-exposed wild-types (p < 0.001), whereas Pb exposure did not alter shredding latency in Hfe-mutant mice. In the marble-burying test, Hfe-mutant mice showed an increased number of marbles buried compared with wild-type mice (p = 0.002), indicating more repetitive behavior upon Hfe mutation. Importantly, Pb-exposed wild-type mice buried more marbles than non-exposed wild-types, whereas the number of marbles buried by Hfe-mutant mice did not change whether or not exposed to Pb. These results suggest that Hfe mutation could normalize Pb-induced behavioral alteration. To explore the mechanism of repetitive behavior caused by Pb, western blot analysis was conducted for proteins involved in brain dopamine metabolism. The levels of tyrosine hydroxylase and dopamine transporter increased upon Pb exposure in both genotypes, whereas Hfe-mutant mice displayed down-regulation of the dopamine transporter and dopamine D1 receptor with D2 receptor elevated. Taken together, our data support the idea that both Pb exposure and Hfe mutation increase repetitive behavior in mice and further suggest that these behavioral changes could be associated with altered dopaminergic neurotransmission, providing a therapeutic basis for psychiatric disorders caused by Pb toxicity.

종장판갑(縱長板甲) 부장의 다양성과 의미 - 부산 복천동 164·165호분 출토 자료를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Funerary Mean of the Vertical Plate Armour from the 4th Century - Mainly Based on the Burial Patterns Shown by the Ancient Tombs No.164 and No.165 in Bokcheon-dong -)

  • 부산 복천동고분군은 4~5세기를 중심연대로 하는 삼국시대 무덤으로 종장판갑이 다량 출토한 고분군으로 널리 알려져 있다. 2006년 복천동 고분 구릉의 동쪽 사면 말단부에 축조된 164 165호분에서 종장판갑 2령이 추가로 조사되었다. 본고에서는 보존처리가 완료된 종장판갑 2령의 내용을 정리하고, 기존 종장판갑 부장 유구와의 비교검토를 통해 4세기대 종장판갑 부장양상에 대해 살펴보았다. 164 165호에서 출토된 종장판갑은 제작기술 속성을 기준으로 IIa형식(型式)인 경주 울산식 판갑으로 분류되며, 종장판갑편년 3단계 중 II단계의 이른 시점으로 편년된다. 부장양상을 살펴보면, 동단계에 속하는 구릉 정상부의 대형분에서는 종장판갑이 2령 이상 복수로 부장되지만, 164 165호에서는 1령씩 단수 부장된다. 따라서 복천동에서 경주 울산식 판갑(I IIa식)이 부장되는 단계에는 분묘의 규모에 따라 부장되는 종장판갑의 수량에 격차가 있음을 알 수 있다. 종장판갑은 지금까지 복천동 고분 구릉 정상부에 위치한 대형무덤에 부장되고 있어 상위계층의 전유물로 생각되어 왔지만, 164 165호분과 같이 무덤의 입지, 규모, 부장유물의 양과 질적인 면에서 중소형분에 속하는 분묘에서도 종장판갑이 부장된 사실이 확인되었다. 164호분은 장단축비가 1:3 이상인 세장방형 목곽묘로 갑옷 및 유구의 형태, 부장유물의 배치 상태 등에서 경주 구정동 3호분, 사라리 55호분 등과 같은 소위 경주식 목곽묘로 볼 수 있다. 반면 부장 토기의 양상은 소위 금관가야식 토기라 불리는 김해지역 토기와 공통되는 점이 주목된다. 4세기대 복천동고분군에서는 분묘의 입지, 규모, 종장판갑의 부장 수량 등에서 분묘간의 격차가 확인된다. 하지만 종장판갑의 부장유무만으로 분묘간의 계층성을 논하기 어려우며, 종장판갑의 부장이 곧 군사력의 장악을 상징하는 것으로 해석하기는 곤란하다. 164호분의 양상에서는 판갑 부장의 지역성, 복천동 분묘의 계층성에 대해 유추해 볼 수 있다.

공항 콘크리트와 아스팔트 포장 간의 접속 방법 개발 (Development of a Junction between Airport Concrete and Asphalt Pavements)

  • PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to analyze the magnitude of shoving of asphalt pavement by junction type between airport concrete and asphalt pavements, and to suggest a junction type to reduce shoving. METHODS : The actual pavement junction of a domestic airport, which is called airport "A" was modified by placing the bottom of the buried slab on the top surface of the subbase. A finite element model was developed that simulated three junction types: a standard section of junction proposed by the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), an actual section of junction from airport "A" and a modified section of junction from airport "A". The vertical displacement of the asphalt surface caused by the horizontal displacement of the concrete pavement was investigated in the three types of junction. RESULTS : A vertical displacement of approximately 13 mm occurred for the FAA standard section under horizontal pushing of 100 mm, and a vertical displacement of approximately 55 mm occurred for the actual section of airport "A" under the same level of pushing. On the other hand, for the modified section from airport "A" a vertical displacement of approximately 17 mm occurred under the same level of pushing, which is slightly larger than the vertical displacement of the FAA standard section. CONCLUSIONS : It was confirmed that shoving of the asphalt pavement at the junction could be reduced by placing the bottom of the buried slab on the top surface of the subbase. It was also determined that the junction type suggested in this study was more advantageous than the FAA standard section because it resists faulting by the buried slab that is connected to the concrete pavement. Faulting of the junctions caused by aircraft loading will be compared by performing finite element analysis in the following study.

Toward Efficacy Improvement in a PDP Discharge Cell from Structural Considerations

  • The efficacy improvement issues in a unit discharge cell have been approached from the structural considerations. The tested cell designs include (a) a coplanar type with annular auxiliary electrode buried in barrier ribs, (b) a coplanar type with split auxiliary electrodes also burred in barrier ribs and (c) a coaxial type with a floating electrode stacked on the base electrode. From spatiotemporally resolved optical images of near-IR emission taken by a gated-ICCD camera and relative VUV emission intensity estimated by laser absorption spectroscopy, the differences in the discharge and light emission performances of those three cell types have been compared and discussed.
