From the view point of data fusion, we integrate LIDAR data and digital aerial images to perform 3D building modeling in this study. The proposed scheme comprises two major parts: (1) building block extraction and (2) building model reconstruction. In the first step, height differences are analyzed to detect the above ground areas. Color analysis is then performed for the exclusion of tree areas. Potential building blocks are selected first followed by the refinement of building areas. In the second step, through edge detection and extracting the height information from LIDAR data, accurate 3D edges in object space is calculated. The accurate 3D edges are combined with the already developed SMS method for building modeling. LIDAR data acquired by Leica ALS 40 in Hsin-Chu Science-based Industrial Park of north Taiwan will be used in the test.

Researchers have been long studying new building implementation methods to improve the quality of construction, reduce the time of assembly, and increase productivity. One of these methods is the use of modular pre-fabricated structural forms that are composed of a beam, column, short column, pyramidal end block, and connection plates. In this study, a new geometry for the pyramidal end block was proposed that helps facilitate the assembly procedure. Since the proposed configuration affects the performance of this form of connection, its behavior was evaluated using finite element method. For this purpose, the connection was modeled in ABAQUS and then validated by comparing the outputs with experimental results. The research proceeded through analyzing 16 specimens under monotonic and cyclic loading. The results indicated that using the pyramidal end block not only makes the assembly process easier but also reduces the out-of-plane displacement of the short column webs and the vertical displacement of beam end. By choosing appropriate section properties for column and beam, the connection can bear a rotation up to 0.01 radians within its inelastic region and a total of 0.04 radians without any significant reduction in its bearing capacity.
The purpose of this study is to find out the characteristics of activity areas according to the age difference and provide the alternatives for space planning of activity areas in classroom of childcare centers. This study used the content analysis method for field survey data collected from 36 classrooms of 9 childcare centers in the Daejeon area. Floor plans were converted to Autocad drawings to analyze the characteristics of activity areas. The results of this study were as follows; 1) In case of 0 to 2-year-old classrooms, they had 6 activity areas such as gross-motor area, role play, block building, language, creative expression, exploration/manipulation area. The activity area with the most low frequency was gross-motor area. 2) In case of 0 to 2-year-old classrooms, the size of activity area was in order of gross-motor area > role play > block building > language > creative expression > exploration/manipulation area. In case of 3 to 5-year-old classrooms, the size of activity area was in order of language > art > role play > math > block building > science > tone and rhythmic area. 3) The central areas with easy access in 0 to 2-year-old classrooms were Large-motor and Imaginary Play Areas. Also, more isolated areas were Manupulatives and Block Areas. The central areas with easy access in 3 to 5-year-old classrooms were Arts, Numbers and Manupulatives. While more isolated areas were Music, Movement and Science Areas.

Scratch-based programming has come to be known as an effective programming tool because of its graphic instruction modules, which are designed to be assembled like the famous LEGO building blocks. These building block-like structures allow users to more easily program applications without using other more difficult programming languages such as C or Java, which are text-based. Therefore, it poses a good opportunity for application in educational settings, especially in primary schools. This paper presents an effective approach to developing an educational robot for use in elementary schools. Furthermore, we present the method for scratch programming based on the external modules need for the implementation of robot motion. Lastly, we design a systematic curriculum, titled "Play with a Robot," and propose guidelines to using the educational programming language Scratch.

A few years ago, the rapid degradation of domestic air quality has led to the efforts of exhaust gas policy and fine dust mask, but it is not a fundamental measure. In Korea, photocatalyst will be applied to residential and multi-use facilites to purify indoor and outdoor air. Also, in this study, it is tried to produce exposed concrete that is aesthetically pleasing as well as air purification of indoor by combining with light transparent concrete according to the increasing interest in human indoor living environment. For this purpose, we have developed a block formwork for photocatalysis light transparent concrete and established a suitable manufacturing method for on-site construction.

Sludge generated in the production of ready-mixed concrete is classified as waste and processed at a high cost. In particular, small and medium-sized ready-mix manufacturer are burdened with such costs, and some companies are illegally processing them. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to suggest a method for recycled remicon sludge as a concrete block composition. When the remicon sludge is simply dried, the residual chemical admixture and ettringitee contained in the sludge are present, so that the compressive strength of the concrete block and the compressive strength after freezing and thawing are largely deteriorated to meet the quality standards of the concrete shore and retaining wall block It was not possible to do. As a method for satisfying the physical performance, it was found that the remicon sludge was calcined at a high temperature of about $900^{\circ}C$. to decompose ettringite and residual chemical admixture and then used it.
In this paper, a method is presented to identify the physical and modal parameters of multistory shear building based on substructural technique using block pulse generalized operational matrix and genetic algorithm. The substructure approach divides a complete structure into several substructures in order to significantly reduce the number of unknown parameters for each substructure so that identification processes can be independently conducted on each substructure. Block pulse functions are set of orthogonal functions that have been used in recent years as useful tools in signal characterization. Assuming that the input-outputs data of the system are known, their original BP coefficients can be calculated using numerical method. By using generalized BP operational matrices, substructural dynamic vibration equations can be converted into algebraic equations and based on BP coefficient for each story can be estimated. A cost function can be defined for each story based on original and estimated BP coefficients and physical parameters such as mass, stiffness and damping can be obtained by minimizing cost functions with genetic algorithm. Then, the modal parameters can be computed based on physical parameters. This method does not require that all floors are equipped with sensor simultaneously. To prove the validity, numerical simulation of a shear building excited by two different normally distributed random signals is presented. To evaluate the noise effect, measurement random white noise is added to the noise-free structural responses. The results reveal the proposed method can be beneficial in structural identification with less computational expenses and high accuracy.

In genetic algorithms(GA), a crossover is performed only at one or two places of a chromosome, and the fixed probabilities of crossover and mutation have been used during the entire generation. A GA with dynamic mutation is known to be superior to GAs with static mutation in performance, but so far no efficient dynamic mutation method has been presented. Accordingly in this paper, a GA is proposed to perform a uniform crossover based on the nucleotide(NU) concept, where DNA and RNA consist of NUs and also a concrete way to vary the probabilities of crossover and mutation dynamically for every generation is proposed. The efficacy of the proposed GA is demonstrated by its application to the unimodal, multimodal and nonlinear control problems, respectively. Simulation results show that in the convergence speed to the optimal value, the proposed GA was superior to existing ones, and the performance of GAs with varying probabilities of the crossover and the mutation improved as compared to GAs with fixed probabilities of the crossover and mutation. And it also shows that the NUs function as the building blocks and so the improvement of the proposed algorithm is supported by the building block hypothesis.
Many PE (pre-erection) blocks are supported by wooden, concrete, or steel supports when they are stocked in the outdoor areas of a shipyard. Their positions and numbers are planned on the basis of the workers' experience. Recently, many shipyards have been making PE blocks with various shapes and weight distributions because of the variety of ships and building technologies. Therefore, it is now necessary to deal with blocks that they have no experience with. We propose a method to conveniently and quickly evaluate the structural safety of PE block supports, without the need for special knowledge and technology related to structural analysis. This method can reduce the large number of man hours (MH) normally needed for the analysis. The three-dimensional grillage analysis is performed for a simplified grillage model of a PE block. For efficiency, the grillage model of the PE block is automatically built from its three-dimensional CAD model, and its weight is also automatically distributed on the grillage model. The integrated system has been comprehensively implemented to perform the grillage analysis for the reaction forces on block supports. This paper describes how to make a grillage model of a PE block and estimate the weight distribution of the block on this grillage model. These steps are verified by comparing the supports reaction forces to those of the 3D finite element analysis for the PE blocks that are provided by a shipyard.
In mechanical design, design process is mainly composed of design, explanation and evaluation. In this paper, Using Genetic Algorithms (GA), Evolutionary computation is introduced as new design process. This method promote the efficiency and power of design. Due to the known characteristics of the stage, the approach basically involves a synthetic design method with the composition of building blocks representing the elements of mechanical objects. In order for the building blocks to be more suitable for representation and evolution of mechanical structures, Elementary Cell Blocks (ECBs) are introduced as new building blocks. In this paper, we have demonstrated the implementation of the approach with the design of gear systems.
