  • Current seismic design codes for building structures are based on the method which can provide enough capacity to satisfy objected performance level and exactly evaluate the seismic performance of buildings. The capacity spectrum method using the nonlinear static(pushover) analysis is becoming a popular tool for evaluating the seismic performance of existing and new building structures. By means of a graphical procedure capacity spectrum method esimates the performance level of structure by comparing the capacity of structure with the demand of earthquake ground motion on the structure. In the method the relation between base shear estimated by a nonlinear static analysis and horizontal displacement is used. Capacity spectrum is usually expressed as what represent the responses of the equivalent single degree of freedom (ESDOF) system for the building structures. However there are some problems in converting procedures into ESDOF system which include not considering the effect of higher modes of structures. The objective of this paper is to compare and verify existing methods and suggest the modified capacity spectrum for seismic performance evaluation of building structures.

  • A few methodologies have been recently developed to estimate the environmental affect when various materials and components are used in building life cycle. The direct survey method has limitations to analyze the environmental problems because of the limit of survey scope and cost. Therefore, another indirect method has been developed as alternatives. The indirect method is represented as input-output analysis. This paper aimed at analyzing the estimation the environmental affect of building materials and works at building construction, utilizing the input-output analysis as a indirect estimation method. The results suggested that the building works is overally responsible for the energy consumption and $CO_2$ emission. In other words, Over the 80% of the total consumption and $CO_2$ emission are resulted at the building work.

UAV를 이용한 돔형 원자력 격납건물 외관조사를 위한 3차원 모델기반 비행 좌표 생성 방법 (3-D Model-based UAV Path Generation for Visual Inspection of the Dome-type Nuclear Containment Building)

  • This paper provides a method for generating flight path of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) that is intended to be used in visual inspection of dome-type nuclear containment building. The method basically employs 3-D model to extract accurate location coordinates. Two basic route patterns that provide guide lines in defining moving locations were defined for each side wall and dome section of the containment. The route patterns support sequential capturing of images as well. In addition, several simple equations and an algorithm for calculation of the moving location on the route were developed on the basis of 3-D geometric characteristics of the containment building. A prototype computer program has been implemented to validate the proposed method, and a case study shows the method can visualize covering area in 3-D model as well.

  • A sophisticated story-wise stiffness identification method for a shear building structure is applied to the case where the shear building is subjected to an actual micro-tremor. While the building responses to earthquake ground motions are necessary in the previous method, it is shown that micro-tremors can be used for identification within the same framework. This enhances the extended usability and practicality of the previously proposed identification method. The difficulty arising in the limit manipulation at zero frequency in the previous method is overcome by introducing an ARX model. The weakness of small SN ratios in the low frequency range is avoided by using the ARX model together with filtering and introducing new constraints on the ARX parameters.

  • The purpose of this research is to perform a case study for verifying problems of BIM application to the building construction project using Fast Track method. The object of case study is an actual construction project completed in 2013. As a result, some problems and solutions for those were extracted. The result of this study will contribute revitalization to the BIM application in the project using Fast Track method.

  • In this paper, an improved method of environment map building and a region search algorithm for mobile robot are presented. For the environment map building of mobile robot, measurement data of ultrasonic sensors and certainty grid representation is usually used. In this case, inaccuracies due to the uncertainty of ultrasonic data are included in the map. In order to solve this problem, an environment map building method using a Bayesian model was proposed previously[5]. 개선된 스네이크 모텔에 기반한 반자동 건물 영역 추출 (Semi-automatic Building Area Extraction based on Improved Snake Model)

  • 3차원 지도(3D Map)를 구축하기 위해서는 지형정보와 지도상에서 건물 영역 및 건물 형상 정보가 필요하다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 개선된 스네이크(Snake) 알고리즘으로 건물 영역을 반자동으로 추출하는 방법을 제안한다. 본 방법은 전처리, 제어점의 초기화, 개선된 스네이크 알고리즘 적용 세 단계로 구성한다. 첫 번째 단계에서는 위생영상을 그레이 영상으로 변환 후 근사 에지를 추출하여 그레이 영상과 합성한다. 두 번째 단계에서는 사용자가 건물의 중심점을 설정한 후 원형 또는 사각형 모양의 초기 제어점을 계산하여 설정한다. 세번째 단계에서는 개선된 스네이크 알고리즘을 적용하여 건물영역을 추출한다. 이러한 과정에서 스네이크 에너지 계산식의 한 항을 새로운 방법으로 설정하여 건물영역 추출용으로 특화하였다. 그리고 스카이 뷰의 위성영상을 이용하여 제안된 방법을 건물영역 매칭율을 평가하였는데 75%의 매칭율을 보였다.

  • Conventional apartment building projects have favored wall slab structure for the ease of construction and economic viability. However, wall slab structure, consisting of bearing walls, makes remodeling a difficult challenge. In addition, as the amendment to the Building Act in November, 2005 incentivized easy-to-remodel Rahmen structure design for apartment building in terms of floor area ratio and the number of stories, were are seeing more use of PC construct method in apartment building projects gradually. However, PC construction method requires complex connections between beams and columns, making it difficult to install and remove formwork. Furthermore, it is not possible to reuse forms after removal, generating lots of construction wastes, and it is necessary to install new forms again when the size of connection changes in line with modification of column cross-section. Researchers in Korea and elsewhere in the world have focused on structural performance of connection in PC construction method, with little attention to alternative approaches to improving connection forms for PC construction method.   • Purpose: Because of the growing concern over fossil fuel use and increasing demand for greenhouse gas emission reduction since the 1990s, the building energy analysis field has produced various types of methods, which are being applied more often and broadly than ever. A lot of research products have been actively proposed in the area of the building energy simulation for over 50 years around the world. However, in the last 20 years, there have been only a few research cases where the trend of building energy analysis is examined, estimated or compared. This research aims to investigate a trend of the building energy analysis by focusing on methodology and characteristics of each method. Method: The research papers addressing the building energy analysis are classified into two types of method: engineering analysis and algorithm estimation. Especially, EPG(Energy Performance Gap), which is the limit both for the existing engineering method and the single algorithm-based estimation method, results from comparing data of two different levels- in other words, real time data and simulation data. Result: When one or more ensemble algorithms are used, more accurate estimations of energy consumption and performance are produced, and thereby improving the problem of energy performance gap.

군집시설물 건설공사의 안전점검 대가 산정모델 제안 및 평가 (Proposal and Evaluation of the Safety Inspection Cost Estimation Model for Multi-building Construction Project)

  • The safety inspection cost of the construction work was based on commercial facilities classified as a single building. Therefore, it is not possible to fully reflect the characteristics of the multi-building construction project such as apartment houses. Therefore, this study suggests a reasonable estimation model that can fully reflect the characteristics of the multi-building construction project. The safety inspection cost estimation model proposed two models such as construction cost ratio method and cost plus fixed fee method. And these models were simulated by the apartment construction work and compared with the current standard. As a result, the current construction cost ratio method has shown that the safety inspection cost tends to be overestimated as the construction size increases. Therefore, the proposed model has reflected characteristics of the multi-building construction project, so that it can reasonably estimate the safety inspection cost more than the current standard.
