  • Inorganic binding material was made by recycled resource and its applicability as pile-filling material was examined. The result was that the material had same liquidity with the liquidity of OPC and high reactivity with site soil. According to dynamic/static loading tests by site test-construction, the inorganic binding material met both design bearing capacity and settlement. Since the inorganic binding material showed same or better performance than OPC, the utilization possibility of the inorganic binding material made of recycled resource as pile-filling material was verified.

  • According to foster the Pusan Public Park in site of Camp Hialeah, we recorded about building which has historical and cultural meaning. This study is to organize the resource about properties of material and structural properties of Barracks of Japanese army and Quonset hut which was constructed from 1940's to 1950's in Camp Hialeah.

  • The Hwangtoh is one of the traditional construction material used in wall, plastering material, and ondol (Korean underfloor heating system) with stone and wood. It is an important greenness material and it has much advantages such as; high storage of heat, auto-purification, antibiotic ability, and emission of far infrared rays. But, it is not developed and not used in modern construction because of its low strength and properties of dry shrinkage crack. According to the recent researches and studies, it is evaluated for natural pozzolanic material like flyash or pozzolan. It's possibility on construction material is high because it's chemical and mineralogical proportion is like as Metakaolin and Kaolinite. In this point of view, this study aims to analyze the physical properties on Hwangtoh mortar through an experiment with various activation condition of Hwangtoh, which is natural pozzolanic material, for the purpose of increase the using possibility in construction material.

Seismic behavior of SFRC shear wall with CFST columns

  • The use of reinforced concrete (RC) shear wall with concrete filled steel tube (CFST) columns and steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) shear wall has aroused widespread attention in recent years. A new shear wall, named SFRC shear wall with CFST columns, is proposed in this paper, which makes use of CFST column and SFRC shear wall. Six SFRC shear wall with CFST columns specimens were tested under cyclic loading. The effects of test parameters including steel fiber volume fraction and concrete strength on the failure mode, strength, ductility, rigidity and dissipated energy of shear wall specimens were investigated. The results showed that all tested shear wall specimens exhibited a distinct shear failure mode. Steel fibers could effectively control the crack width and improve the distribution of cracks. The load carrying and energy dissipation capacities of specimens increased with the increase of steel fiber volume fraction and concrete strength, whilst the ductility of specimens increased with the increase of steel fiber volume fraction and the decrease of concrete strength.

  • It has been used so many kinds of architectural materials and interior products in current building construction, and use of composite architectural materials is increasing with the development of chemical technology. As the green architecture has become the center of public interest, much effort is conducted in advanced countries on the LCA point of view, such as restriction of architectural materials that emitting pollution substances, developing of Non-Toxic architectural materials, and recycling of used materials, etc. with the cooperation of related organizations, material manufacture companies, and construction companies. Because the kinds of materials to be used in building constructions are so various, there might be some possibility of personal and subjective choice at the time of materials selection resulting the missing the requirements of building components and the choice of harmful materials to human. One way to resolve the material problem is to present the green architectural materials which coincide with the quality performance at service and not harmful to man and nature. At this point of view, this study aims to develop the material classification model by investigating the major labelling system about green architectural materials in both domestic and abroad and to implement an efficient material selection system by making a powerful database of environmental standard and quality basis of building requirements.

  • 복합재 항공기 구조물의 설계 시 인증을 고려한 재료 허용치와 설계치의 설정이 매우 중요하다. 그리고 복합재 구조물의 재료 허용치와 설계치의 설정은 정적강도, 손상허용 요구 조건 및 환경효과가 고려되어야 한다. 빌딩블록 접근법은 오랫동안 민간 및 군수 항공 산업에 적용되어 왔으며 중요한 인증 방법론을 제공하였다. 현재의 인증 방법은 시편, 요소, 부구성품 및 전기체 시험을 포함하는 광범위한 실험을 기반으로 한다. 본 논문에서는 복합재 허용치 실험 사례가 제시되며 빌딩 블록 접근 방식의 중요한 배경 및 적용방법이 제시된다.

Cause of Surface voids in Concrete Attached to an Aluminum Form, and Measures for Prevention

  • Traditionally, the material used for the form in reinforced concrete construction has been wood or steel. But recently, aluminum forms have been widely used in wall structures such as apartment buildings. Aluminum is light, easy to handle, and economically advantageous, but the hydrogen gas created due to its reaction with the alkali component in concrete gives rise to air pockets on the concrete's surface, and deteriorates the surface's finishability. In this research, to determine the influence of aluminum material on concrete, the cement paste W/C and its chemical reactivity in alkali and acid solution were analyzed. As a prevention plan, the influence of the number of applications of calcium hydroxide and various surface coating materials was analyzed. Through the analysis, it was found that the surface voids on the aluminum form are the result of the reaction of hydrogen gas with an alkali such as $Ca(OH)_2$. This can be prevented by the surface treatment of $Ca(OH)_2$, separating material and coating material. However, poor surface form and damages to the form are expected to cause quality degradation because of the aluminum-concrete interaction. Therefore, thorough surface treatment, rather than the type of separating material or coating material, is considered the most important target of management.

BIM-BASED TIME SERIES COST MODEL FOR BUILDING PROJECTS: FOCUSING ON MATERIAL PRICES

  • As large-scale building projects have recently increased for the residential, commercial and office facilities, construction costs for these projects have become a matter of great concern, due to their significant construction cost implications, as well as unpredictable market conditions and fluctuations in the rate of inflation during the projects' long-term construction periods. In particular, recent volatile fluctuations of construction material prices fueled such problems as cost forecasting. This research develops a time series model using the Box-Jenkins approach and material price time series data in Korea in order to forecast trends in the unit prices of required materials. Building information modeling (BIM) approaches are also used to analyze injection times of construction resources and to conduct quantity take-off so that total material prices can be forecast. To determine an optimal time series model for forecasting price trends, comparative analysis of predictability of tentative autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) models is conducted. The proposed BIM-based time series forecasting model can help to deal with sudden changes in economic conditions by estimating material prices that correspond to resource injection times.

  • To prevent energy waste in buildings used heat insulator. Heat insulator materials can be classified inorganic and organic. The organic material is be toxic gas emission, when a fire occurs. And it has lower water resistance. The inorganic material is heavy and worse thermal performance than organic materials. This study focused on thermal conductivity and density of inorganic foam material for using industrial by-products materials.
