Solubility data of carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) in 1-butyl-3-methylpiperidinium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ($[bmpip][Tf_2N]$) ionic liquid are presented at pressures up to about 30 MPa and at temperatures between 303 K and 343 K. As far as we know, the data on the $CO_2$ solubility in the $[bmpip][Tf_2N]$ ionic liquid have never been reported in the literature by other investigators. The solubilities of $CO_2$ were determined by measuring the bubble point or cloud point pressures of the $CO_2+[bmpip][Tf_2N]$ mixtures with various compositions using a high-pressure equilibrium apparatus equipped with a variable-volume view cell. To observe the effect of the cation composing the ionic liquid on the $CO_2$ solubility, the $CO_2$ solubilities in $[bmpip][Tf_2N]$ used in this study were compared with those in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)-imide ($[bmim]Tf_2N]$). As the equilibrium pressure increased, the $CO_2$ solubility in $[bmpip][Tf_2N]$ increased sharply. On the other hand, the $CO_2$ solubility decreased with increasing temperature. The mole fraction-based $CO_2$ solubilities were almost the same for both $[bmpip][Tf_2N]$ and $[bmim][Tf_2N]$, regardless of temperature and pressure. The phase equilibrium data for the $CO_2+[bmpip][Tf_2N]$ systems have been correlated using the Peng-Robinson equation of state.

The tidal discharge is defined as the quantity of water flowing through a certain cross-section per unit of time, in contrast to river discharges, tidal discharges change periodically in magnitude and direction. Thus the total volumes of water flowing into again out of the system-called flood volume and ebb volume, respectively, depend on both the tidal and the river discharges. To ditermine the tidal discharge and the flood and ebb volumes of the Yong-san river, the discharges were measured at spring, mean and neap tide and simultaneous gage reading were taken at Samhak-do, Lower Myo-do, Myongsan-ni and Naju. The general procedure for measuring the tidal discharges was as follows. First, several cross-sections were measured and one of them was chosen. First, several cross-sections were measured and one of them was chosen. Then verticals were serected in the chosen cross section. Because comparatively few verticals should be representative of the discharge distribution over the river profile, the selection was done in accordance with the somtimes irregular bottom profile. The velocities were measured with the same current meters. The observations which included water level readings were continued for a period of about 13 hours. The current direction meter, a pyramid shaped resistance body, suspend in the water on a thin wire. The bubble in a circular tilting level fixed to the wire indicates the direction of the current. Reading were taken at intervals of 1m for depths of 10m or less, and for depths over 10m at intervals of 2m, going downwards and upwards. The averages of the two velocities were used for the computation of the discharges. The discharges and the flood and ebb volumes were ditermined by a graphical method. The mean velocities, corrected for their direction when necesary, were ditermined for each time interval and each vertical, and these velocities were plotted against the time. The resulting curves show possible mistakes very clearly, and the effect of observation errors could be reduced. The corrected velocities read from the curve at half-hour intervals were multiplied by the depth at the virtical at the corresponding time. The discharges thus found were ploted against the position of the vertical in the transit and joined by a smooth curve, integration of the curve rendered the total discharges as they occurred of half-hour intervals. Plotting these total discharges against the time yeilded during the day. The flood and ebb volumes were obtained by integration of the total discharge curve.
To investigate the characteristics of growth and oil production of peppermint cells during a batch culture, cells derived from peppermint callus was cultivated in an air bubble reactor. During the batch culture, effects of inoculum size, abiotic stress, yeast elicitor, and two stage culture on the cell growth, the productivity of oleolesin, and the formation of flavor components were determined and also the sugar concentrations and kinetics of cell growth were analyzed. Among the various sizes of inoculum, the culture with 2.0% packed cell volume inoculum showed the optimum condition for cell growth in the proposed bioreactor, and the cell yield and essential oil production reached to 5.7g/1 and 0.109g/1, respectively. When the abiotic stress of daily 8hr dark and $10^{\circ}C$ cold treatments were given to the culture cell growth decreased but essential oil production increased to 0.546g/l. In a modified Lin-Staba medium in which 100mg/l yeast extract as an elicitor was added to the culture, the cell growth and oil production increased, and menthol content was 22.5% of oil. In the two stage culture, in which the basic culture conditions of 27$^{\circ}C$, light, and without elicitor were employed during the first six days followed by the second stage with daily 8hr treatment of cold and dark condition, and also with yeast extract as an elicitor, cell growth decreased after eight days, essential oil production was not increased, and menthol was not detected. Dry cell yield was 0.38g dry cell/g sugar and specific growth rate was 0.25 day-1. The major terpenoid in the oil was not the menthol but pulegone and piperitone, precursors of menthol were accumulated. However, when yeast elicitor was added, menthol was produced to the level of 22.5% which was the highest value in the peppermint cell culture reported so far.
Extracorporeal circulation by hemodilution technique has been currently used with its clinical safety and good peripheral tissue perfusion in open heart surgery. There is no doubt that $O_{2}$ carrying capacity of the blood is disturbed by decreased hemoglobin level resulting from hemodilution of the circulating blood. From the view point of the blood gas exchange, these experimental studies were undertaken to determined the sate limit of hemodilution in the condition of cardiopulmonary bypass with a constant perfusion flow rate. Twelve adult mongrel dogs weighing 10 to 13 Kg. were anesthetized with pentobarbital and then respiration was controlled with Harvard volume respirator using room air. The cardiopulmonary by pass was performed by use of Sarns heart lung machine (console 5000, 5 head and 2 roller pumps) and Travenol pediatric bubble oxygenator. The perfusion rate during bypass was maintained at a constant rate of 80 ml/min/Kg of body weight. The ratio of oxygen gas flow to blood flow was kept in 3 to 1 constantly. International hemodilution was attained by serial blood withdrawals and immediate infusion of equal volumes of diluants composed of Ringer's lactate, 5% dextrose in water and 25% mannitol solution, proportionally 60%, 30%, and 10%. Arterial and venous blood samples were obtained between 15 and 20 minutes following each hemodilution. Hematocrits and hemoglobin values, $PO_{2}$, $PCO_{2}$ and pH were measured. Oxygen and carbon dioxide contents oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide elimination were calculated groups according to different hematocrit values and the correlations were evaluated. Result were as follows. 1. the arterial $O_{2}$ tension and $O_{2}$ saturation were maintained at the physiological level irrespective of the hematocrit value. 2. The venous $O_{2}$ tension and $O_{2}$ saturation showed a tendency to decline with the decrease in hematocrit value and positive correlation between them (r = +0.49, r = +0.76), The mean values of venous $O_{2}$ tension and $O_{2}$ saturation, however, were not decreased when the hematocrit levels were lower than 20%. 3. The arterial $O_{2}$ content declined lineally in proportion to the fall of hematocrit level with a positive correlation between them (r = +0.95). 4. The venous $O_{2}$ contents were decreased gradually as the hematocrit value decreased with positive correlation between them ( r =+0.89). The trend of diminution of venous $O_{2}$ content, however, was became low according to progressive decrease of hematocrit level. 5. Systemic oxygen consumption was in higher range than $O_{2}$ requirement of basal metabolism when the hematocrit value was above 20%, but abruptly decreased when the hematocrit value became to below 20%. 6. The arterial $CO_{2}$ tension and $CO_{2}$ content showed trend of increasing with progressive decrease of hematocrit value but exhibited a rather broad range and there was no relationship between those value and the hematocrit value. 7. The venous $CO_{2}$ tension and $CO_{2}$ content have also no correlation with change of Ht. value but related directly to those value of arterial blood with positive correlation between them (r = +0.78, r = +0.95_. 8. A-V difference of $CO_{2}$ content and $CO_{2}$ elimination wasnot significantly influenced by Ht. value. From the results, we obtained that feasible limit in inteneional hemodilution is above the hematocrit value of 20% under the given experimental condition.

In this study, we produced macarons by adding white bean powder at various proportions (0, 25, 50, 75, and 100%). The macarons in the 100% additive group had the highest moisture content, smallest volume, highest weight, and highest sugar and reducing sugar content. The macarons in the 50% additive group had the highest spread factor.Furthermore, their pH and acidity demonstrated the greatest air bubble stability. In the Hunter color system, by adding white bean powder, the L value gradually decreased, whereas the a and b values gradually increased. The hardness, gumminess, and chewiness decreased with the addition of white beans. Flavonoids and total phenolic compounds, 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging activity, and superoxide dismutase (SOD)-like activity were the highest at 100%. Additionally, their overall acceptability was the highest at 50%. These results suggested that the use of white bean powder to produce macarons have numerous advantages.
Some drugs can offer far better medical effectiveness as it is injected through the intradermal layer of the skin, known as a needle-free injection. However, conventional needle-free devices might deliver a relatively large amount of drug in a just single spot of skin, splitting open the tissue layer structure, which might cause bruising and bleeding. By injecting the small volume with a fast repetition rate in a large surface area of skin, the patient may get much fewer injuries and pain. To achieve that specification, the driving force must be instantaneous and short-pulsed. Such a form of an injection device has been developed but the efficacy of those devices has been rarely examined. Therefore, this study developed the laser-induced microjet device that ejects microjet whose speed is ~310 m/s, during the 400~800 ㎲ of pulse time. The device can eject ~1 µL of the drug at the rate at which each shot repeated 10 shots per second. Using this specification, we evaluated the efficacy of drug injection onto mouse models. After injecting the insulin solution into the mouse model, the blood insulin level is detected, resulting in 20 % of blood insulin level with the ordinary needle syringe injection method.
Purpose: Onco flash shortens a scan time with half and there is a possibility of getting the data which corresponds in existing. The experiment which makes the image whose Onco Flash is excellent OSEM tried, as changes parameter of time, iteration. After reconstituting an image, produces FWHM and executes an evaluation. Materials and Methods: Siemens e.cam gamma camera, standard Jaszczak phantom and spatial resolution phantom was used. In order for the bubble not to enter, implants 2 mCi and volume 0.25 cc $^{99m}Tc$ respectively in line 3 to spatial resolution phantom. Put on that phantom on the table correctly, and acquires an image. 15 mCi putting in distilled water to mix $^{99m}Tc$ well in Jaszczak phantom and acquires image just like spatial resolution phantom. Reconstructs and converts the image to digital image as Sante program. Produce FWHM and evaluate by Amide. Results: The non-scattered image shows better FWHM value than scattered image. As time increases from 10 sec to 30 sec for 5sec interval, FWHM appeared to 30.1, 28.5, 24.5, 23.6, 23.4 mm. At the standard iteration value 4, OSEM FWHM shows 8.0 mm, and Onco Flash is 8.1 mm. As fade in iteration, FWHM value more and more decreased. Conclusion: When using Onco Flash, shortens a scan time, and enhances image quality. Also, user can adjust the parameters to improve resolution. Therefore, patient and user are satisfied with these merits.
Solubility data of hydrogen sulfide ($H_2S$) and methane ($CH_4$) in two kinds of ionic liquids with the same anion: 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium trifluoromethanesulfonate ([emim][TfO]) and 1-butyl-1-methylpyrrolidinium trifluoromethanesulfonate ([bmpyr][TfO]) are presented at pressures up to about 30 MPa and at temperatures between 303 K and 343 K. The gas solubilities in ionic liquids were determined by measuring the bubble point pressures of the gas + ionic liquid mixtures with various compositions at different temperatures using a high-pressure equilibrium apparatus equipped with a variable-volume view cell. The $H_2S$ solubilities in ionic liquid increased with the increase of pressure and decreased with the increase of temperature. On the other hand, the $CH_4$ solubilities in ionic liquid increased significantly with the increase of pressure, but there was little effect of temperature on the $CH_4$ solubility. For the ionic liquds [emim][TfO] and [bmpyr][TfO] with the same anion, the solubility of $H_2S$ as a molality basis was substantially similar, regardless of the temperature and pressure conditions as a molar concentration basis. Comparing the solubilities of $H_2S$ and $CH_4$ in the ionic liquid [emim][TfO], the solubilities of $H_2S$ were much greater than those of $CH_4$. For the same type of ionic liquid, the solubility data of $H_2S$ and $CH_4$ obtained in this study were compared to the solubility data of $CO_2$ from the literature. When compared at the same pressure and temperature conditions, the $CO_2$ solubility was in between the solubility of $H_2S$ and $CH_4$.

Introduction: The use of rabbits as a cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB) animal model is extremely dif%cult mainly due to technical problems. On the other hand, deep hypothermic circulatory arrest(CA) is used to facilitate surgical repair in a variety of cardiac diseases. Although steroids are generally known to be effective in the treatment of cerebral edema, the protective effects of steroids on the brain during CA are not conclusively established. Objectives of this study are twofold: the establishment of CPB technique in rabbits and the evaluation of preventive effect of steroid on the development of brain edema during CA. Material '||'&'||' Methods: Fifteen New Zealan white rabbits(average body weight 3.5kg) were divided into three experimental groups; control CA group(n=5), CA with Trendelenberg position group(n=5), and CA with Trendelenberg position + steroid(methylprednisolone 30 mglkg) administration group(n=5). After anesthetic induction and tracheostomy, a median sternotomy was performed. An aortic cannula(3.3mm) and a venous ncannula(14 Fr) were inserted, respectively in the ascending aorta and the right atrium. The CPB circuit consisted of a roller pump and a bubble oxygenator. Priming volume of the circuit was approximately 450m1 with 120" 150ml of blood. CPB was initiated at a flow rate of 80~85ml/kg/min, Ten min after the start of CPB, CA was established with duration of 40min at $20^{\circ}C$ of rectal temperature. After CA, CPB was restarted with 20min period of rewarming. Ten min after weaning, the animal was sacrif;cod. One-to-2g portions of the following tissues were rapidly d:ssected and water contents were examined and compared among gr ups: brain, cervical spinal cord, kidney, duodenum, lung, heart, liver, spleen, pancreas. stomach. Statistical significances were analyzed by Kruskal-Wallis nonparametric test. Results: CPB with CA was successfully performed in all cases. Flow rate of 60-100 mlfkgfmin was able to be maintained throughout CPB. During CPB, no significant metabolic acidosis was detected and aortic pressure ranged between 35-55 mmHg. After weaning from CPB, all hearts resumed normal beating spontaneously. There were no statistically significant differences in the water contents of tissues including brain among the three experimental groups. Conclusion: These results indicate (1) CPB can be reliably administered in rabbits if proper technique is used, (2) the effect of steroid on the protection of brain edema related to Trendelenburg position during CA is not established within the scope of this experiment.
