Smart device has become an affordable main computing resource for robotic ap-plications in accordance with a fast growth of mobile internet environment. Since the computing power of smart device has been increased, smart device based ro-bot system attempts to replace traditional robot applications with laptop-based system. Methodologies for acquisition of remote sensory information and control of various types of robots using smart device have been proposed recently. In this paper, we propose a robot control system using a monitoring program and a communication protocol. The proposed system is a combination of an educa-tional programming oriented robot named EPOR-S. as small service robot plat-form and a smart device. Through a simulation study using image processing, the feasibility of combination of the proposed robot monitoring program and control system was verified.

Previously, parallel computing was mainly used in areas requiring high computing performance, but nowadays, multicore CPUs and GPUs have become widespread, and parallel programming advantages can be obtained even in a PC environment. Various parallel programming frameworks using multicore CPUs such as OpenMP and PPL have been announced. Nvidia and AMD have developed parallel programming platforms and APIs for program developers to take advantage of multicore GPUs on their graphics cards. In this paper, we develop digital image transformation programs that runs on each of the major parallel programming frameworks, and measure the execution time. We analyze the characteristics of each framework through the execution time comparison. Also a constant K indicating the ratio of program execution time between different parallel computing environments is presented. Using this, it is possible to predict rough execution time without implementing a parallel program.

디지털방송의 데이터 서비스는 방송 통신 융합 서비스의 총아로 초기에 관련 산업계의 새로운 수익모델 창출의 기대를 받아왔지만 현재까지 대중적 인지도를 높일 킬러 서비스의 부재로 그 기대에 부응하지 못하고 있다. 검색 엔진들이 발전함에 따라 현대인들의 지적 호기심을 충족시키는 가장 일반화된 활동으로 자리매김을 하고 있는 인터넷 검색 활동은 방송프로그램 시청 중에도 활발히 발생한다는 점을 고려할 때 시청자들 사이에 대중적인 데이터 서비스로 발전할 수 있다. 이에 따라 본 논문은 시청자들의 시청 행태에 적합한 데이터 서비스의 조건을 만족하고 방송프로그램의 내용을 기반으로 검색 활동을 수행할 수 있는 MHP 기반의 검색 데이터 서비스를 제안한다. 본 검색 데이터 서비스는 검색 키워드 생성 단계와 검색 수행 단계를 나눔으로써 시청자들의 방송프로그램 시청을 최대한 저해하지 않도록 기획되었으며 방송프로그램의 시간구간 별 내용을 기반으로 검색 키워드들을 생성하도록 하여 방송프로그램과의 연동성을 최대화 하였다.

This study identifies the present status of multicultural broadcasting programs as multicultural phenomenon is spreading throughout Korean society and it discusses how a local broadcasting has to reflect locality and multicultural characteristic. A notion on the local of multimedia and multichannel time is expanding as a concept of emotional and psychological territory over geographical space. Therefore the locality should reflect attachment and interests of its members as well as disseminating multicultural reality. A locality for broadcasting should accept differences, reflect a cultural diversity, and satisfy its dynamics. The purpose of this study is to inquire whether a local broadcasting is performing its function as a local press and a place forpublic opinions by examining how they reflect reality of local, where an inflow of Immigrants and their cultures are altering the place as a multicultural society, and what Programs they propose. This study also presents media education for immigrants, revitalization of community, multicultural education about local citizens, and practical use of multicultural contents and small output radio as a source of supply for local broadcasting program in order to harmonize production of multlcultural media contents In local society.

본 연구는 1960년대 전반기 한국 유선라디오 방송사업의 운영과 변모과정을 1963년 12월에 출범한 전국유선방송협회의 활동을 중심으로 살펴보고자 한다. 본고는 유선방송의 기술적 재정적 운영뿐만 아니라 재송신되는 방송프로그램의 편성과 운영에 대한 구체적인 해명, 그리고 국가와 관계 속에서 시장 내 행위자로서 유선방송사업자가 가진 자율성에 대한 검토가 필요하다는 문제의식으로부터, 1960년대 전반기 유선라디오 방송의 기술적 재정적 운영 및 프로그램 편성, 그리고 유선방송업자들의 협동체적 조직으로 출범했던 전국유선방송협회의 초기 사업구상 등을 살펴보았다.

In digital TV broadcasting, such as terrestrial, cable, satellite, and IPTV, the head-end of digital TV broadcasting has a more complicated transmission structure than that of analog TV broadcasting. Furthermore, digital TV broadcasting has a feature that supports multiplex models, such as Multiple Program Transport Stream (MPTS). Therefore, the purpose of our work was to design and examine a more efficient new system of emergency alert message transmission to support the digital TV broadcasting environments. Digital TV broadcasting is the IP generation or RF transmission of 8-VSB, QAM, and QPSK modulated through a multiplexer or re-multiplexer multiplexed stream as a MPEG-2 Transport Stream after content encoding. The new system proposed in this paper transmits an emergency alert message without scrambling after replacing the PID and payload of the -packet with the message prototype in the TS stream from the multiplexer. If we need to transmit an emergency alert message under digital TV broadcasting services, then the receiver first checks the PID of each packet in the TS stream for the emergency alert message. Next, if a packet is determined to be an emergency alert message, then the set-top box displays the message on the TV screen using its function of On Screen Display, or the PC based software displays the message on the monitor screen using its function of overlay with user interface if the packet is found to be an emergency alert message. We have designed an emergency alert message protocol and a system model. By experiments and analysis of the system, we concluded that the system achieved efficiency and the ability to send and receive emergency alert messages using the system under different digital TV broadcasting service environments.

지상파 DMB는 이동 환경에서 QVGA 급의 영상과 스테레오 오디오를 제공하는 방송 서비스로서 국내에서는 2005년 12월부터 본격적으로 서비스되고 있다. 최근에는 DMB 환경에서 고품질의 영상과 오디오를 제공하려는 기술에 대한 연구가 이루어지고 있는데, 지상파 DMB 환경에서 고품질의 영상 또는 오디오를 제공하기 위해서는 기존의 DMB 서비스에 추가적인 데이터들을 전송하는 것이 필요하다. 하나의 지상파 DMB 방송 채널에 할당되는 전송 비트율이 높지 않다는 점을 감안하면, 이러한 추가적인 데이터들을 효율적으로 전송하는 것이 서비스의 상용화 입장에서는 중요한 요소가 될 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 지상파 DMB 환경에서 멀티채널 오디오 서비스를 제공하고자 할 때, 추가적으로 전송되어야 하는 부가정보 스트림의 효율적인 전송을 위한 패킷화 방법을 제안한다.

본 논문은 양방향 개인 맞춤형 방송 시스템 구축에 관한 연구이다. 맞춤형 방송이란 사용자가 원하는 방송 프로그램만을 사용자가 원하는 시간에 볼 수 있게 하는 서비스를 말한다. 양방향 방송 서비스는 사용자의 방송단말과 방송 서버 사이의 양방향 데이터 전송을 허용하여 만족도 높고 개인화된 방송 서비스를 제공하는 것을 목표로 한다. 본 연구는 양방향 맞춤형 방송 서비스를 위한 사용자 프로파일 시스템을 개발하였다. 이 시스템은 맞춤형 방송 서비스를 위한 표준인 TV-Anytime에서 제안하고 있는 메타데이터를 기반으로 사용자 프로파일과 콘텐츠 데이터 및 맞춤형 광고 서비스를 포함한 맞춤형 방송의 다양한 기능을 포함하여 양방향 데이터 전송까지 지원하고 있다. 구축된 양방향 맞춤형 방송 시스템은 사용자 프로파일을 통하여 개인 별로 선호하는 방송 콘텐츠 및 광고를 추천 및 지원하여 사용자의 시청 만족도를 높였으며, 기존의 방송과 차별화된 지능적인 방송 서비스의 지원으로 사용자의 만족도를 증가시켰다.

본 논문에서는 방송 프로그램에 시청자가 대화 채널을 이용하여 참여할 수 있도록 하기 위한 양방향 방송 시스템 즉, 리턴채널서버를 설계, 구현한다. 방송 프로그램에 시청자의 의견이나 응답을 실시간 반영하는 서비스를 제공하기 위한 리턴채널서버는 제어 모듈, 네트웍 인터페이스 모듈, 데이터베이스 관리 모듈, 그리고 실시간 콘텐츠 저작 모듈 등으로 구성된다. 이때 방송 서비스에 무관한 형태로 리턴채널서버를 구성하기 위하여, 본 논문에서는 리턴채널서버의 각 모듈들을 리턴채널서버 응용과 리턴채널서버 응용 실행 환경 등으로 계층적으로 구성한다. 리턴채널서버 응용은 실행코드와 실행코드의 실행에 필요한 파라메터로 구성되어 있으며, 리턴채널서버가 특정 방송 프로그램을 제공하기 위해 처리해야 하는 절차들을 정의한다. 한편 리턴채널서버응용 실행환경은 리턴채널서버 응용이 실행되기 위한 환경을 제공한다. 리턴채널서버를 리턴채널서버 응용 실행환경과 리턴채널서버 응용으로 계층적으로 구성하면, 방송 서비스 제공자가 제공하고자 하는 방송 서비스에 무관하게 리턴채널서버가 동작하도록 리턴채널서버를 구성할 수 있으며 이는 실험을 통해 확인되었다.

디지털 압축 기술이 방송에 접목되고 방송 네트워크 기술의 발전으로 도래된 백여 편의 방송프로그램을 시청자에게 제공할 수 있는 초다(超多) 채널 방송 환경은 시청자에게 풍부한 시청 경험을 제공하는 동시에 복잡한 방송프로그램 편성에서 자신이 원하는 방송프로그램을 탐색해야 하는 어려움을 주고 있다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해서 시청자의 시청패턴을 분석하여 채널 변경 시 지능적으로 방송프로그램을 추천하는 기술이 연구되고 있는데 다양한 장르 구분과 복잡한 재(再)방송 편성으로 인해 만족할 만한 성능을 보여주지 못하고 오히려 채널 변경의 불확실성을 높이는 결과를 가져왔다. 이 에, 본 논문은 시청자가 시청 중인 방송프로그램을 바로 선호하는 방송프로그램으로 등록하고 그 등록된 방송프로그램들을 열람, 바로보기, 녹화 예약, 시청 예약 등의 관리 기능을 지원하는 데이터 서비스 국제 표준인 MHP 기반의 데이터 서비스를 제안한다.
