In the 21 st century, broadcasting, communication, and computer have been integrated due to the development of digital technology. Accordingly, to overcome the limit of respective communication media and to maintain them, their independent area shall not be classified. This study is to examine the future environment of digital TV broadcasting, to analyze customizing type service and interactive type TV technology, and to make asymmetric interactive digital TV publication broadcasting system, which is TV broadcasting in the next generation to treat visual image, sound, and various data all together by harmonizing broadcasting and communication like ISDB(Integrate Service Digital Broadcasting). In addition, to develop service on publication broadcasting with high quality, this study is tn propose to develop relative devices for TV/PC reception to realize a new communication type TV publication broadcasting, by analyzing technology for producing, sending, transmitting, receiving, and saving to apply to customizing type interactive system and by examining its application.

MPEG-21은 디지털 객체를 정의하고 이를 네트워크상에서 생성, 변형, 전달, 소비를 위한 통합적 멀티미디어 프레임워크에 대한 국제 표준이다. 디지털 아이템(DI: Digital item)은 MPEG-21 프레임워크 내에서 표준화 된 식별체계, 서술 형식을 따르는 구조화된 디지털 객체이며, 유통, 처리의 최소 단위이다 본 논문에서는 이러한 디지털 아이템을 최종 소비하는 MPEG-21 터미널 구조를 제안하고 이에 대한 설계 및 구현, 그리고 실험 결과를 제시한다

MPEG-21은 사용자가 다양한 멀티미디어 데이터를 네트워크상에서 생성, 변형, 전달, 소비하기 위한 통합적 멀티미디어 프레임워크를 정의한 국제 표준이 다. MPEG-21 DIA(digital item adaptation)는 멀티 미디어 데이터를 사용자의 환경, 단말기 특성, 네트워크 특성에 대한 정보를 기술할 수 있는 표준을 정의하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 DIA에서 정의한 여러 가지 적응 변환 중 사용자의 관심 영역을 중심으로 한 의미론적 변환 엔진을 구현하였으며, 이에 대한 실험결과를 제시한다 기존의 변환 방법이 비디오 프레임의 전체 크기, 해상도 화질을 조정하였다면, 의미론적 변환은 사용자의 관심 영역을 중심으로 변환을 수행함으로써, 사용자의 관심도를 반영할 수 있는 장점이 있다.

The KOREASAT satellite, the first Korean commercial communication and broadcasting satellite, has been launched in August 1995, and has started to provide the communication and preliminary broadcasting services, respectively, in March and July 1996. In this paper the network configurations and characteristics of the services which the KOREASAT satellite provides are described. The services, which are provided by the KOREASAT satellite with its twelve communication and four broadcasting transponders, are the direct broadcasting service, the video relay service including the TVRO, SNG and TV/CATV program distribution, the company-wide communication service including VSAT and TSAT, and the other services with the digital line, trunk relay, telephone line, mobile data, music broadcasting services, etc. A communication transponder has the 36MHz bandwidth and 14W output power, and a broadcasting transponder has the 27MHz bandwidth and 12OW output power.

In this paper, we present a practical implementation of the MPEG-21 multimedia framework for broadcasting and communication convergent services. MPEG-21 standard technology was exploited to build a convergent service framework. Using this framework, a service model and several scenarios have been successfully designed and implemented. In addition, interoperability, which is the main objective of a multimedia framework, especially in a convergent environment consisting of heterogeneous networks and various types of devices, has been addressed in detail. The experimental results show that the implemented test bed provides a next-generation multimedia service; that is, universal multimedia access (UMA), meeting the requirements of a broadcasting and communication convergent environment.

이 연구는 최근 들어 방송기술의 발달로 위성방송, 인터넷방송과 같이 전국성을 띠는 방송미디어가 속속 등장하면서 논란이 제기된 방송 권역 문제를 다루고 있다. 방송 권역의 문제는 위성방송 문제로 불거졌지만, 이 문제는 한국의 방송 철학과 이념에 대한 근본적인 문제를 제기하고 있다. 즉 방송 권역 문제는 새로운 미디어의 육성을 지향할 것인가? 커뮤니케이션 기술이 발달하더라도 지역문화, 지역언론의 역할을 중시해야 할 것인가? 등의 다양한 방송 이념과 관련 있기 때문이다. 이 연구에서는 방송 권역에 대한 기존의 논의를 평가한 뒤 방송 권역의 쟁점으로 방송 권역외 재송신, 위성방송 사업자의 지상파방송 재전송, 방송 권역의 광역화 등을 다루고 있다. 이 연구에서는 방송 권역의 목적이 기술적인 의미보다는 지역방송의 보호를 위해 유지되고 있으나, 방송 기술의 발전과 새로운 미디어의 등장으로 그 의미마저 상실되고 있음을 논의하고 있다. 따라서 방송 권역 개편을 통해 지역방송의 경쟁력을 강회하고 방송 권역과 관련된 방송사업자들의 문제를 풀어야 한다고 주장한다. 즉 디지털 멀티미디어 시대에 '방송 권역'의 의미를 재검토해야 한다고 주장하고 있다.

본 연구는 현재 한국 사회에서 크게 성장 중인 인터넷 방송의 모습을 탐구한다. 기술이 발달함에 따라, 기존의 시청자들 개인이 스스로 방송하게 되는 인터넷 방송 시장이 새롭게 태어났다. 국내에서 가장 대중적인 인터넷 방송플랫폼은 Afreeca TV로, Broadcasting Jockey(BJ)들이 자신의 채널에서 고유의 콘텐츠로 다양한 장르의 방송을 하고 있다. 근래의 혼란스러운 한국 사회와 맞물려, 시사/정치의 장르도 인기가 점점 높아진 장르로 변하고 있다. 구체적으로, 본 연구는 시사/정치 부분에서 유명한 BJ 망치부인을 사례를 중심으로 분석하여, 그녀의 채널의 특징, 의견, 시청자들과 소통 방법이 한국 사회에서 언론의 자유에 대해 어떠한 시사점을 던지는 지 등을 분석한다. 이를 통해, 인터넷 방송이 음모론 혹은 토론의 장이 되는지에 대해 입체적으로 탐구하고, 더 나아가 인터넷 방송의 청사진에 대해 토론한다.

In the 21st century, it may be possible to offer comprehensive service by integrating all communication media under the development of digital technology without the classification of broadcasting and communication. In addition, it will be begun to perform HDTV broadcasting by focusing on the Metropolitan area in 2001yr and will permit over 100 channels for satellite communication, thus multi-channel TV broadcasting age has come in Korea. Therefore, this study is to identify the future environment of TV broadcasting and service area in ISDB age and to present new interactive type publication satellite TV transmission system, which provides customizing type digital screen book publication by analyzing satellite broadcasting technology to create Korean cultural area around the Korean peninsula.

A K-band GaAs MMIC receiver module has been developed using 0.15 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ HEMT technology process. It incorporates two front end low noise amplifiers, a double balanced diode mixer, and filters. The RF input frequency ranges 20.1 to 21 GHz and the IF output 1.1 to 2 GHz. Test results show an overall conversion gain of more than 27 dB, and less than a 2.2 dB noise figure. The image-rejection ratio greater than 21 dB has been obtained. The isolation between RF and IF ports is better than 27 dB, and between LO and IF is more than 50 dB.
