Purpose : The purpose of this study was to examine the Compare the effects of inspiratory muscle strengthening training and expiratory muscle strengthening training of normal adult respiratory function. Method : In this study, we want to compare the effect of inspiratory muscle strengthening training(n=8) and expiratory muscle strengthening training(n=8) to target the normal adult 16 people. expiratory muscle strengthening training, was 25 minutes of training on the basis of the breathing image program that has been pre-recorded. inspiratory muscle strengthening training, use the power-breathe plus on the measured resistance value, was carried out for 25 minutes. Using the spirometer in order to examine the ability to breathe, FVC, FEV1, FEV1 / FVC, MVV was measured. Result : The results showd that in the breath muscle strengthening training FVC, FEV1, MVV increased statistically significantly. The inspiration muscle strength training FVC, FEV1, MVV was a statistically significant increase, FEV1/FVC decreased. There was no statistically significant difference between. Conclusion : In conclusion, both methods give the result of increasing the effective respiratory function. Inspiratory muscle strengthening training, the function of the lung is very limited to be used when and by us effectively and expiratory muscle strengthening training to increase the capacity of the lung is an effective way that will increase the volume.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of pulmonary rehabilitation on lung function and fatigue in persons with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Methods: Thirty one persons with COPD participated in this study. Four groups were allocated as follows: experimental group 1 (under 10 years of the post-disease period), control group 1 (under 10 years of the post-disease period), experimental group 2 (over 10 years of the post-disease period), and control group 2 (over 10 years of the post-disease period). Results: Forced expired volume in one second (FEV1) % pred and lactic acid showed improvement in experimental group 1 and experimental group 2 after training. Control group 1 and control group 2 did not show improvement of FEV1% pred and lactic acid after training. However, FEV1% pred and lactic acid in experimental group 1 were not significantly different, compared with the experimental group. Conclusion: Results of our study suggest that implementation of a pulmonary rehabilitation program resulted in improvement of lung function and fatigue in persons with COPD not related to the post-disease period.
Purpose: This study was undertaken to identify the effect of amateur wind musical performance and choir activity on pulmonary function, and to determine the usefulness as a respiration training program by measuring the pulmonary functions of subjects. Methods: A total of 90 subjects (wind instrument players group=30, choir members group=30, control group=30) participated in the experiment. Pulmonary function test (FVC, FEV1, FEV1/FVC ratio, MVV, SVC, PEF, FEF 25-75%, IRV, ERV) was conducted using a spirometer (CardioTouch 3000S, Bionet, Seoul, Republic of Korea). Each factor was measured 3 times to meet the American Thoracic Society criteria, and the highest value was used in the analysis. Results: Comparing pulmonary function between the amateur wind instrument players (WP), amateur choir members (CH), and control (CG) groups revealed significant differences in FEV1, FVC, FEV1/FVC, and ERV (p<0.05). Highest values were obtained in the WP group. Significant differences were obtained for various factors in the multiple regression analysis of practice year (PY), practice time per week (PTPW), and exercise time per week (ETPW): FEV1 and FVC in PY, FEV1/FVC in PTPW, and FEV1/FVC, MVV, PEF, and FEF (25-75%) in ETPW. Conclusion: Amateur wind instrument performance effectively improves lung function and is useful as a breathing training program for preventing debilitation and improving respiratory function.
Objectives: Emotional support and a stress management program should be simultaneously provided to clients as effective preventive services for healthy behavioral change. This study was conducted to review various relaxation and meditation intervention methods and their applicability for a preventive service program. Methods and results: The author of this paper tried to find various relaxation and meditation programs through a literature review and program searching and to introduce them. The 'Relaxation Response' and 'Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)' are the most the widely used meditative programs in mainstream medical systems. Abdominal breathing, Progressive Musclular Relaxation (PMR), Relaxative Imagery, Autogenic Training (AT) and Biofeedback are other well-known techniques for relaxation and stress management. I have developed and implemented some programs using these methods. Relaxation and meditation classes for cancer patients and a meditation based stress coping workshop are examples of this program. Conclusions: Relaxation and meditation seem to be good and effective methods for primary, secondary and tertiary preventive service programs. Program development and standardization and further study are needed for more and wider use of the mindbody approach in the preventive service area of medicine.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of high-intensity complex exercise program using whole-body vibration (WBV) and respiratory resistance on pain and dysfunction, psychosocial level, balance ability, and pulmonary function in low back pain (LBP) patients with high obesity. Design: A randomized controlled trial Methods: A total of 44 LBP patients withhigh obesity (body mass index, BMI≥30kg/m2) were randomly assigned to an experimental group (n=22) and a control group (n=22). Both groups underwent a lumbar stabilization exercise program. In addition, the experimental group implemented the high-intensity complex exercise program combined with WBV and respiratory resistance. In order to compare the effects depending on the intervention methods, numeric pain rating scale (NRPS), Roland-Morris disability questionnaire (RMDQ), fear-avoidance beliefs questionnaire (FABQ), balance ability, and pulmonary function were used for measurement. Results: Both groups showed significant differences in NRPS, RMDQ, FABQ, balance ability before and after intervention (p<0.05). In addition, the experimental groupshowed significant difference in the amount of change in RMDQ, balance ability and pulmonary function values than the control group (p<0.05). Conclusions: High-intensity complex exercise program using WBV and respiratory resistance has been proven to be an effective and clinically useful method to decrease dysfunction, increase balance ablilty, and pulmonary function for LBP patients with high obesity.
This study compares the differences of the fit factor by the order of wearing preference between Particulate filtering facepiece respirators(PFFR) and glasses when participants wore simultaneously and a survey of physical and visual complaint. Recognition level about fit of respirators was investigated and the educational (before- and after-) effect of the fit factor. When participants wore PFFR and glasses, physical complaints were nose pressure, slipping, nose and ear pressure, ear pressure and rim loosen, the most highly physical complaints were nose pressure. Visual complaints were demister, blurry vision, dizziness, visual field, and lens dirty, the most highly visual complaints were demister. But, there was significant difference in physical complaint such as nose pressure(10.3%), slipping (23.0%), nose and ear pressure(14.3%), and rim loosen(16.2%), visual complaint such as visual field(13.8%) and lens dirty(32.4%). For the recognition of fit of respirators, respirators fitness, leak site, an initial point and an object, faulty factor, recognition level was higher. Fit factor was increased after education of proper wearing of respirator. Change of the fit factor was smaller compared to the normal breathing and after 6 actions in case of after education. Questionnaire consisted of general characteristics and physical/visual complaint, recognition of fit. Complaints were measured after the QNFT with multiple choices. Quantitative fit factor was measured by device and compared the result of (before- and after-) educational effect. Also, we selected to 6 actions (Normal breathing, Deep breathing, Bending over, Turning head side to side, Moving head up and down, Normal breathing) among 8 actions OSHA QNFT (Quantitative Fit testing) protocol to measure the fit factors. The fit factor was higher after the training (p=0.000). Descriptive statistics, paired t-test, and Wilcoxon analysis were performed to describe the result of questionnaire and fit test. (P=0.05) Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the quantitative research such as training program and glasses fitting factor about the wearing of PFFR and glasses simultaneously.
This study was purported to examine the definition of tone deafness, various factors for the cause based on literature review of research findings, and to examine therapeutic application of music for treatment of tone deafness. With research, it was found that there can be three different kinds of tone deafness; amusia, agnosia, and asonia. Literature review showed that tone deafness has been frequently dealt in many research in order to verify the causal factors, such as gender, age, and environments. With time, the research trend on tone deafness has shifted towards neurological approach closely examining brain activity, presenting the statement that the brain's capacity to perceive modest pitch changes may be congenitally impaired. Also physiological factors contribute to tone deafness called diplacusis, which is a phenomenon wherein a given tone is heard as different pitches by the two ears, resulting in conflicting bilateral perception of pitch. Music can be used for treatment of various factors causing tone deafness. The most efficient intervention was singing program. Pitch-matching training can be effective training using operant conditioning procedure. Successive approximation or reinforcement of correct response alone was more efficient procedure in helping uncertain singers to sing on pitch. Also progressive breathing exercises helped the training the pitch-matching where one had to coordinate hearing and voice.
Programs provided by the Korea Association of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation include Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Korean Advanced Life Support (KALS). However, programs pertinent to dental care are lacking. Since 2015, related organizations have been attempting to develop a Dental Advanced Life Support (DALS) program, which can meet the needs of the dental environment. Generally, for initial management of emergency situations, basic life support is most important. However, emergencies in young children mostly involve breathing. Therefore, physicians who treat pediatric dental patients should learn PALS. It is necessary for the physician to regularly renew training every two years to be able to immediately implement professional skills in emergency situations. In order to manage emergency situations in the pediatric dental clinic, respiratory support is most important. Therefore, mastering professional PALS, which includes respiratory care and core cases, particularly upper airway obstruction and respiratory depression caused by a respiratory control problem, would be highly desirable for a physician who treats pediatric dental patients. Regular training and renewal training every two years is absolutely necessary to be able to immediately implement professional skills in emergency situations.
This study shows that the self-satisfaction individually is rising and social life is attracted effective and successful in image making field by structuring the facial image improvement program through experimental study in order to improve unbalance of women's face. Experiment is conducted by electing 3 samples for 12 weeks and analyzing the measurement and visual analysis, infrared thermography, and evaluation of experts in order to check the facial unbalance. Subject 1 had the effect at approximately in 4 weeks with the severely distorted chin line and mouth appendage. The facial outline became softer to turn entire image to be softer and more feminine. Subject 2 had the severe distortion of location and size of eyes and nose. But the skin was getting better at first, followed by eyes getting clearer with the location changed in left and right. Subject 3 had the twisted nose and lower chin, but after two weeks, the eye area and skin were better and the width of left and right chin was similarly changed. On the basis of the above research result, the program to effectively improve the image was structured and presented with the resolution of facial unbalance. Program is consist of the training of breathing method, face washing method, facial muscle exercise.
