In order to ensure the signal could be transported cocrrectly, the microwave devices made of Aluminmn alloys must be assembled and brazed flaw-freely. In this paper, a new approach of using contact reactive brazing (CRB) process to realize the compact brazing of Aluminum alloys was put forward. The reason for this is that CRB, which realizes bonding depending on the liquid alloy produced by metallurgy reaction between the materials to be joined, overcomes the limitation of traditional brazing that the macroscopically disorganized filling flow of liquid filler metal would result in defects in brazed seam. Joint ofLF21 (AA3003) with the compactness of over 95% was brazed by the method of CRB using Si powder as an interlayer. At last, the influence of the physical parameter related to the Si powder interlayer on the compactness of the joints was investigated in detail.

The cooling heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ in a brazing type small diameter tube was investigated experimentally. The main components of the refrigerant loop are a receiver, a $CO_2$ compressor, a mass flow meter, an evaporator and a brazing type small diameter tube as a test section. The mass flux of $CO_2$ is $400{\sim}1600$ [kg/$m^2s$], the mass flowrate of coolant were varied from 0.15 to 0.3 [kg/s], and the cooling pressure of gas cooler were from 8 to 10 [MPa]. The cooling heat transfer coefficients of the brazing type small diameter copper tube is about $4{\sim}11.7%$ higher than that of the conventional type small diameter copper tube. In comparison with test results and existing correlations, correlations failed to predict the cooling heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ in a brazing type small diameter copper tube. therefore, it is necessary to develope reliable and accurate predictions determining the cooling heat transfer coefficient of $CO_2$ in a brazing type small diameter copper tube.

During reactor operation, the divertor must withstand unprecedented simultaneous high heat fluxes and high-energy neutron irradiation. The extremely severe service environment of the divertor imposes a huge challenge to the bonding quality of divertor joints, i.e., the joints must withstand thermal, mechanical and neutron loads, as well as cyclic mode of operation. In this paper, potassium-doped tungsten (KW) is selected as the plasma facing material (PFM), oxygen-free copper (OFC) as the interlayer, oxide dispersion strengthened copper (ODS-Cu) alloy as the heat sink material, and reduced activation ferritic/martensitic (RAFM) steel as the structural material. In this study, a vacuum brazing technology is proposed and optimized to bond Cu and ODS-Cu alloy with the silver-free brazing material CuSnTi. The most appropriate brazing parameters are a brazing temperature of 940 ℃ and a holding time of 15 min. High-quality bonding interfaces have been successfully obtained by vacuum brazing technology, and the average shear strength of the as-obtained KW/Cu and ODS-Cu alloy joints is ~268 MPa. And a fabrication route for manufacturing the flat-type divertor target based on brazing technology is set. For evaluating the reliability of the fabrication technologies under the reactor relevant condition, the high heat flux test at 20 MW/m2 for the as-manufactured flat-type KW/Cu/ODS-Cu/RAFM mockup is carried out by using the Electron-beam Material testing Scenario (EMS-60) with water cooling. This paper reports the improved vacuum brazing technology to connect Cu to ODS-Cu alloy and summarizes the production route, high heat flux (HHF) test, the pre and post non-destructive examination, and the surface results of the flat-type KW/Cu/ODS-Cu/RAFM mockup after the HHF test. The test results demonstrate that the mockup manufactured according to the fabrication route still have structural and interfacial integrity under cyclic high heat loads.
The active metal brazing was applied to bond Alumina and Ni-Cr steel by Ag-Cu-Zr-Sn alloy and the interfacial microstructure and reaction mechanism were investigated. Polycrystalline monoclinic $ZrO_2$ with a very fine grain of 100-150 nm formed at the alumina grain boundary contacted with Zr segregation layer at the interface. The $ZrO_2$ layer containing the inclusions and cracks were developed at the boundary of inclusion/$ZrO_2$ due to the difference in specific volume. The development of $ZrO_2$ at the interface was successfully explained by the preferential penetration of $ZrO_2$ at the interface was successfully explained by the preferential penetration of Zr atoms a higher concentration of oxygen and a high diffusion rate of Al ions into molten brazing alloy.
Solid state diffusion brazing of aluminum castings (AC4C) and wrought alloys (Al6061) was conducted in order to improve thermal conductivity and temperature uniformity of the aluminum heater which was generally fabricated by casting method. Tensile strength and thermal conductivity are raised with increasing brazing temperature, obtaining 122.5 MPa and $206W/m{\cdot}K$ at $540^{\circ}C$ 5hrs brazing conditions, respectively. The diffusion brazed heater, shows maximum temperature difference of $4^{\circ}C$, exhibits a enhanced temperature uniformity compared with the cast heater having the maximum temperature difference of $11^{\circ}C$.
The effect of alloying elements of Ag-Cu-Zr-X brazing alloy on the microstructure and the bond strength of $Al_2O_3/Ni-Cr$ brazed steel joint was investigated. The reaction layer, $ZrO_2$ (a=5.146 ${\AA}$ , b=5.213 ${\AA}$ , c=5.311 ${\AA}$ )was formed at the interface of $Al_2O_3/Ni-Cr$ steel joint by the redox reaction between alumina and Zr. The addition of An and Al to the Ag-Cu-Zr brazing alloy gave rise to changes in the thickness of the reaction product layer and the morphology of the brazement. Sn caused the segregation of Zr was decreased b Al the $ZrO_2$ layer formed at the Ag-Cu-Zr-Al alloy was thinner than that of $ZrO_2$ formed at the Ag-Cu-Zr-An alloy. The fracture shear strength was strongly dependent on the microstructure of the brazement. Brazing with Ag-Cu-Zr-Sn alloy resulted in a better bond strength than with Ag-Cu-Zr or Ag-Cu-Zr-Al alloy.
In this study, in order to obtain a useful guide line for design and production of automotive heat exchanger components made of 4343/3003/4343 aluminum clad sheets, it was aimed to improve the understanding about the grain refinement effect on brazing characteristic of the clad sheets. Al-10Ti master alloy was used for grain refinement of 3003 core alloy, and the Ti inoculation level was systematically changed up to 0.1 wt%. The three-layer aluminum clad sheets were fabricated by hot roll bonding process. The effect of grain refinement on brazing characteristic of the clad sheets was investigated by evaluating wettability, bonding strength and sagging resistance.
The distribution behaviors of beryllium which may produce a deleterious damage in the zircaloy cladding have been investigated by the X-ray line scanning of EPMA. The results obtained are as follows; 1) The alloy phase formed by the brazing contains ~6.3 mass % of beryllium. 2) The beryllium diffusion in the base metal (cladding and bearing pad) is recognized only in the range ~5 $\mu$m from the brazing interface.
In the industry, the automation of brazing system is very important using the vision senor and the edge detection of the bronze pipe. And also, the accurate coordination is needed for the finding of the precise location. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for the measurement of 3D information of the brazing material and the detection algorithm of soldering area using the camera and IR sensor. We use Canny edge detector in noisy environments. The experimental study shows that camera and IR sensor is useful for the measurement of distance in the brazing work.
