  • This study examined testing condition when consumers have a strong ordinal preference and in a absence of established ordinal for a given attribute, how adding common features to two brands in a given product category affects brand choice. Research findings presented in this study are generally consistent with the preference confirmation view of choice. The data provides support for the proposition that (1) the effect of common features is moderated by the relative importance of brand attributes(Hypothesis 1) and (2) in the presence of primary attribute adding common features increases the likelihood of choosing the brand with the best value on this attribute(Hypotheses 2).

Most casual brand web sites for this study were presented well in brand and customer service information. Especially, many web sites provided various engaging information such as various events(best dresser contest, date with a star, special gift) and useful multimedia file(MP3 music file, screen saver, movie, calender). However, product information was very lack in most web sites. Especially, sizing and fitting information and textile and fabric hand information were rarely provided. • Luxury fashion brands have begun to aggressively introduce art to justify inherent values such as tradition, craftsmanship, and exclusivity that make it difficult for luxury brands to uphold awe-inspiring atmosphere. Artification refers to a process in which non-artistic factors are transformed into art or artistic category under the influence of artistic thoughts or actions. In addition, the consumption space provided by brands have become important as the importance of substantial shopping experience has increased. Especially, since the artification is actively utilized in flagship stores in the communication interface with consumers. This study uses a literature review and case studies to typify and derive the meaning of the method for artification at a flagship store that effectively conveys brand identity and value. The types of artification at a luxury fashion brand flagship store are divided into pursuing brand permanency and maintaining brand exclusivity that also provides a new value of permanency like a work of art to a luxury fashion brand. Basic values, such as scarcity are declining, reviving and justifying the value threatened by the popularization of luxury.

  • Purpose - This study aims to understand the brand marketing of agricultural products and redefine their status in South Korea by analyzing impacts on consumer buying behaviors. Research design, data, and methodology - Products, with independent variables, were divided into agricultural brand products and generic products. Dependent variables were limited to expanding sales of a specialty brand through consumer awareness, consumer buying behavior, and confidence in agricultural products' quality. Control variables were based on characteristics of products such as freshness, safety, quality, and their category. Moderating effects were examined on consumer characteristics, including income levels and age. Results - Consumers increasingly purchased agricultural brand products rather than generic agricultural products because of the general reliability of quality assurance. Conclusions - Large agricultural specialty stores have enhanced the perceptions of quality assurance, freshness, safety, and diversity. Through a critical analysis of the domestic consumer income levels and age, gender, and demographic factors, such as agricultural consumer buying behavior not affecting consumers' health and life, this study proposes positive changes in quality perception.

  • This study presents a conceptual framework for the growth process as a manager based on data gathered from the sales experiences and careers of fashion brand managers. The study participants were seven managers with over 15 years of sales experience in a women's clothing brand in Gwangju. Data were collected through in-depth interviews from January 2018 to September 2018 and analyzed using open coding, axis coding, and selective coding according to Strauss and Corbin's grounded theory method. The study results are as follows. First, this study found six categories and 17 sub-categories based on the shop manager's sales experiences and careers. Second, we found the central job category as well as categories with causality, interaction, moderating and outcome relationships. Third, we developed a paradigm model that links the main phenomena, causal conditions, contextual conditions, intervening conditions, action/interaction strategies, and consequence categories. Fourth, the process of growing as a fashion brand manager was described by an integrated story.

  • Korea Ginseng Corporation is a global ginseng company, owning one of the most leading brands in Korea, CheongKwanJang. Although Korea Ginseng Corporation was an undoubted market leader in the red ginseng market, it faced a new challenge in 2012 due to the changes in market environment. In order to keep its market leadership in a saturated and competitive market, the company decided to extend its product lines alongside the launches of new brands. In this article, the authors demonstrate the development process of the company's brand portfolio strategy to reveal how the company turned CheongKwanJang into a mega-brand. Also, this paper explores the impact of CheongKwanJang's reputation on new brands, thereby illustrating how the company successfully managed to introduce new products outside of the red ginseng category, ranging from organic food to a pet food market.

  • This study investigates Korean consumers' general perception on brand authenticity, tests the influences of authenticity determinants on the evaluation of fashion brand authenticity and compares the influences in terms of brand category (luxury/non-luxury). A three-stage methodological approach was adopted: (1) A literature review identifies authenticity determinants and generates measurement items. (2) A preliminary study uses a quantitative survey (n=50) to purify the determinants. (3) A quantitative consumer survey (n=150) identifies general perceptions on brand authenticity by measuring the perceived relevance of brand authenticity on determinants and explores the influence of determinants on authenticity evaluations using purified measurements of authenticity determinants. The results of general perception on brand authenticity show that Korean consumers deem authentic brands as honest, sincere and socially responsible. The results indicate obvious differences between luxury and non-luxury brands towards the influence of perceived authenticity determinants (genuine, consistent, original, traditional and authoritative) on authenticity evaluation of luxury/non-luxury brands. In non-luxury brands, only 'genuine' and 'consistent' have significant effects that are similar to the results of the general perception on brand authenticity. However, only 'consistent' and 'authoritative' have significant effects for luxury brands and are different from the general perception.
