  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the hemodynamic changes in degree and duration that occur during Valsalva maneuver (VM). Furthermore, we wanted to investigate the patterns and mechanisms of physiological hemodynamic control. Method: Thirty six healthy college students were recruited from Y university. Each participant was provided with written informed consent. Blood pressure (BP), heart rate (HR), cardiac output (CO) were continuously recorded using the Finometer. Result: During the phase I of VM, means of systolic and diastolic pressures were increased by 32.15% and 38.28%, respectively, compared with basal values. HR and CO were decreased by 9.91% and 13.01%, respectively. Immediately after the maneuver (phase III), systolic and diastolic pressures were decreased by 5.05% and 6.24%, respectively, compared with those obtained in the phase II. HR and CO were elevated by 13.33% and 11.93%, respectively, compared to the levels of earlier phases. BPs were represented with overshoot in the phase IV, and recovered by baseline values about 20 sec after VM. Conclusion: These results demonstrated that hemodynamic changes are variable in the event of VM even in healthy humans. It will be valuable to accumulate more quantitative hemodynamic information in special populations such as the elderly and the patients with cardiovascular problems.

  • The GFSK Transceiver of 400 MHz ISM band for data communication is designed and fabricated. To reduce the occupied bandwidth of transmitted signal, the GFSK modulation is selected. The measured results of fabricated transceiver show the data rate of 2,400 bps at 8.5 kHz bandwidth, frequency deviation of less than ${\pm}3\;kHz$, sensitivity of -107 dBm at SINAD of 20 dB, BER of less than $1.8{\times}10^{-3}$ at -110 dBm input power. The fabricated transceiver is satisfied with the regulation of radio wave and has the good performance.

  • This paper presents a novel user selection method based on the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR), which is approximated using limited feedback data at the base stations (BSs) of multiple user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) systems. In the proposed system, the codebook vector index, the quantization error obtained from the correlation between the measured channel and the codebook vector, and the measured value of the largest singular value are fed back from each user to the BS. The proposed method not only generates precoding vectors that are orthogonal to the precoding vectors of the previously selected users and are highly correlated with the codebook vector of each user but also adopts the quantization error in approximating the SINR, which eventually provides a significantly more accurate SINR than the conventional SINR-based user selection techniques. Computer simulations show that the proposed method enhances the sum rate of the conventional SINR-based methods by at least 2.4 (2.62) bps/Hz when the number of transmit antennas and number of receive antennas per user terminal is 4 and 1(2), respectively, with 100 candidate users and an SNR of 30 dB.

  • We consider a cell edge environment. In cell edge, a user interfered by signal which is generated by a base stations not including the user. In cell edge environment, that is, there are inter cell interference (ICI) as well as multi user interference (MUI). Coordinated multi-point transmission (CoMP) is a technique which mitigates ICI between base stations. In CoMP, therefore, base stations can coordinate with each other by sharing user state information (CSI) in order to mitigate ICI. To improve sum rate performance in CoMP, each base station should generate optimal user group and transmit data to users selected in the optimal user group. In this paper, we propose a user selection algorithm in CoMP. The proposed method use signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) as criterion of selecting users. Because base station can't measure accurate SINR of users, in this paper, we estimate SINR equation considering ICI as well as MUI. Also, we propose a user selection algorithm based on the estimated SINR. Through MATAL simulation, we verify that the proposed method improves the system sum rate by an average of 1.5 ~ 3 bps/Hz compared to the conventional method.

  • The ovomucoid pre-mRNA has been folded into mini-hairpins adaptable for the RNA recognition motif (RRM) protein binding. The number of mini-hairpins were 372 for pre-mRNA and 83-86 for mature mRNA. The spatial arrangements are, in average, 16 nucleotides per mini-hairpin which includes 7 nt in the stem, 5.6 nt in the loop and 3.7 nt in the inter-hairpin spacer. The constitutive splicing system of ovomucoid-pre-mRNA is characterized by preferred order of intron removal of 5/6 > 7/4 > 2/1 > 3. The 5' splice sites (5'SS), branch point sequences (BPS) and 3' splice sites (3'SS) were identified and free energies involved have been estimated in 7 splice sites. Thermodynamic barriers for splice sites from the least (|lowest| -Kcal) were 5, 4, 7, 6, 2, 1, and 3; i.e., -18.7 Kcal, -20.2 Kcal, -21.0 Kcal, -24.0 Kcal, - 25.4 Kcal, -26.4 Kcal and -28.2 Kcal respectively. These are parallel to the kinetic data of splicing order reported in the literature. As a result, the preferred order of intron removals can be described by a consideration of free energy changes involved in the spliceosomal assembly pathway. This finding is consistent with the validity of hnRNP formation mechanisms in previous reports.

  • This study is about the development of a system related to the CATV network. It intends to develop an automatically centralized Headend system and a distributive system to remove the ineffectiveness of the established manual system. To achieve this goal, we took a part of bandwidth, which is not used for the transmission of video signals in the established frequency bandwidth, and used it for the transmission and receiver and a automatic distributive system. We developed an information management system for the 9600bps CATV using RS-232 of forward/backward communication and backward communication. Based on window, It consist of ID generation, transmitter/receiver, control and backup part.

  • Purpose - This research examines the short-run and long-run effect of external shocks (oil price and exchange rate) on domestic food price in Indonesia. Research design, data, and methodology - Three variables are used in this research. The variables are food price index, Rupiah's exchange rate of Indonesia, and crude oil price from 1998 until 2015 using Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). Results - The increasing of oil price and the depreciation of Rupiah's rate push the domestic food price in long-run, but do not impact significantly in short- term. The response of food price to oil prices shock and exchange rate shock are positive and persistent throughout the entire sample period. The exchange rate and oil price shocks have a small proportion explaining for the fluctuations of food price index but increasing over time. Conclusions - The policymaker should concern on solving the problem of oil price increase and depreciation of exchange rate on Indonesia's food price as they are important factors that can affect the price stability. The government should not rely on food imports because the price is strongly influenced by the movements in the exchange rate.

  • The loss due to caching replacement in the wireless mobile proxy caching structure has a significant effect on streaming QoS. This paper proposes a similarity-based caching loss minimization (SCLM) for minimizing the loss caused by the caching replacement. The proposed scheme divides object segments, and then it performs the similarity relation about them. Segments that perform the similarity relation generates similarity relation tree (SRT). The similarity is an important metric for deciding a relevance feedback, and segments that satisfy these requirements in the cache block for caching replacement. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme has better performance than the existing prefix caching scheme, segment-based caching scheme, and bi-directional proxy scheme in terms of QoS, average delayed startup ratio, cache throughput, and cache response ratio.
