유한(有限)깊이의 물에서의 선체운동(船體運動) -선수선형(船首船型)의 영향(影響)- (The Effect of Forebody Forms on the Ship Motion in Water of Finite Depth)

  • The effect of the bow shape on the ship motion response in longitudinal regular waves of water of finite depth is investigated by employing the strip theory. The two-dimensional hydrodynamic forces(added mass and damping) were calculated by close-fit method for water of finite depth. The models for investigation are U and V bow ship forms of block coefficient 0.8 with constant after body which were used by Yourkov [2] and recently by Kim [3] for their deep water investigations. The following results are obtained by the present numerical experiments. (1) It is confirmed that the damping coefficient of the V-bow ship is greater than that of U-bow ship and in consquence the amplitude of heave and pitch of V-bow ship is smaller than that of U-bow ship among longitudinal regular head waves in water of finite depth (2) The merit of the V-bow ship on the motion damping is more significant in heave than in pitch, and is decreasing with the shallowness of water depth. (3) The change of bow form gives little effect on the wave exciting force and moment compared with the motion responce.

  • The effect of the bow shape on the ship motion response among longitudinal regular waves, is investigated employing the strip theory. The two dimensional hydrodynamic forces such as added mass and damping are calculated by the integral equation method for arbitrary sections. Nine ship models are selected for investigation. They are U, UV and V bow ship forms of different block coefficient of 0.6, 0.7 and 0.8 with constant after body. The heave amplitude of the V bow ship is smaller than that of the U bow ship in the whole range of wave length except extremely short wave as were stated by the earlier investigators. This results holds also in the case of bow vertical motions such as vertical relative displacement, velocity and acceralation. As to the pitch amplitudes, the V bow ship gives smaller value in long waves but larger value in short waves. However, heave and pitch phase angles are practically not influenced by the form of the fore body sections. In the bow motions, a little difference in phase angle is appeared in the vicinity of the wave which has same ship length. With respect to the wave exiting force and moment unfovourable effects could be expected in V bow ships. And these tendency hold also in the wave bending moment.

  • In this paper, the optimized design for bow structure was investigated by using EDISON software. Considering the mechanism of the bow, non-linear FEM analysis was essential. The factors of the design are height, width, number of holes and taper value. High performance of the internal energy and lowest mass were main issues. The limit of the von-mises stress was yield strength for the material. Material was chosen by considering typical bow material, Aluminum. Using Taguchi method($L_9$), 9 models were selected and contribution rate was calculated for each factors. Following the contribution rate, 3 factors were fixed and optimized model was predicted. After making optimized model for FEM analysis, the value of internal-energy, mass for FEM model were compared with predicted value, calculated the percentage error and figure out the reliability of Taguchi method.

  • This paper addresses the vibration mode shape measurement technique utilizing a Continuous Scanning Laser Doppler Vibrometer (CSLDV). The continuous scanning capability is added to the conventional discrete Laser Doppler Vibrometer by reflecting the laser beams on the surface of the object using two oscillating mirrors. The bow scanning resulted from the proposed scanning method is eliminated by feedback control. The velocity output signal from the CSLDV is modulated to give the spatial velocity distribution in terms of coefficients which are obtained from the Fast Fourier Transformation of the time dependent velocity signal. Using the Chebyshev series form, the analysis of the vibration mode shape techniques for straight Bine scanning and 2 dimensional scanning are presented and discussed. Hull-form optimization of KSUEZMAX to enhance resistance performance

  • This paper deploys optimization techniques to obtain the optimum hull form of KSUEZMAX at the conditions of full-load draft and design speed. The processes have been carried out using a RaPID-HOP program. The bow and the stern hull-forms are optimized separately without altering neither, and the resulting versions of the two are then combined. Objective functions are the minimum values of wave-making and viscous pressure resistance coefficients for the bow and stern. Parametric modification functions for the bow hull-form variation are SAC shape, section shape (U-V type, DLWL type), bulb shape (bulb height and size); and those for the stern are SAC and section shape (U-V type, DLWL type). WAVIS version 1.3 code is used for the potential and the viscous-flow solver. Prior to the optimization, a parametric study has been conducted to observe the effects of design parameters on the objective functions. SQP has been applied for the optimization algorithm. The model tests have been conducted at a towing tank to evaluate the resistance performance of the optimized hull-form. It has been noted that the optimized hull-form brings 2.4% and 6.8% reduction in total and residual resistance coefficients compared to those of the original hull-form. The propulsive efficiency increases by 2.0% and the delivered power is reduced 3.7%, whereas the propeller rotating speed increases slightly by 0.41 rpm.

  • Recently, the design of commercial ships with less green-house gas is one of great interests in naval architecture fields. Ship designers are asked to find optimum hull forms with minimum resistance in ocean waves. The accurate computation of added resistance, therefore, is getting more important for the prediction of power increase in random ocean waves. This study focuses on the numerical computation of added resistance on ships with Ax-bow shapes which are designed to reduce added resistance. To this end, the time-domain Rankine panel methods based on weakly-nonlinear and weak-scatterer approaches are applied, which can reflect the influence of above-still-water bow shape. As computational models, KCS and KVLCC2 hull forms are considered. Each ship is combined with the three types of Ax-bow shape, and computational results are compared each other.

  • 본 연구에서는 선수 돌출의 반전형 선수 형상을 가진 고속 쌍동선의 선체부착 부가물에 의한 주행성능 영향에 대하여 수치해석과 회류수조 모형시험을 통하여 비교분석하였다. 반전형 선수 형상은 재래식 선수 형상보다 선수 발산파 파정의 생성위치를 선미방향으로 이동시켜 개선된 조파형상을 보이며, 저항 및 안정된 항주자세에 효과적임을 보였다(Kim et al., 2019). 본 연구에서의 반전형 선수 내측에 부착된 핀과 선미단 인터셉터(Interceptor)에 의한 파형과 항주자세 변화 등 주행성능에 대한 모형시험 결과에서는, 1) 반전형 선수의 Trim 특성 2) Fin에 의한 내측 파의 중첩 개선 3) Fin과 Interceptor에 의한 자세제어는 두 선체 연결갑판(Wetdeck) 충격을 줄이는데 효과적인 것으로 판단된다.

FPSO 갑판 침입수 현상에 대한 선수부 형상 영향의 실험적 고찰 (Experimental Investigation of the Bow Configuration Influence on the Green Water on FPSO)

  • The green water on deck has many harmful effects on the vessel in rough seas such as damages to hull structures, damages to cargos, increase of the downtime, decrease of the stability, and so on. Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessels (FPSOs) are operated in a specific location and are normally positioned to meet mostly head or bow waves in order to reduce the roll motions. But this makes FPSOs more vulnerable to green water around the bow region therefore the bow shape should be properly designed to mitigate the green water damage. In this paper, experimental results in regular head waves for three kinds of bow shapes are compared and some design considerations are proposed, with the building a database for computational fluid dynamics (CFD) validation in mind.

선수형상이 다른 부선의 예인안정성에 관한 실험 연구 (Experimental Study on the Towing Stability of Barges Based on Bow Shape)

  • 예부선이 항행할 경우 부선의 회두운동으로 인하여 예선은 조종성능에 제한을 받기 때문에 부선의 회두운동을 감소시켜야 안전한 예항업무를 이행할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 부선의 침로안정성을 향상시키기 위한 방안으로 부선의 회두운동에 영향을 미치는 항목들을 조사하기 위하여 수조실험을 실행하였다. 선수 형상에 따라 회두운동 특성이 다르게 나타나기 때문에 서로 다른 선수 형상을 지닌 부선 모델을 대상으로 스케그의 영향, 예인선속의 영향, 예인삭 길이의 영향, 브라이들의 영향에 대하여 종합적으로 분석하였다. 실험결과 스케그의 설치 위치에 의한 효과는 선수형상에 따라서 다르게 나타나고 있는 모습을 보여주고 있다. 부선의 회두운동은 부선에 연결된 예인삭의 길이가 길수록 부선의 회두가 작아짐을 알 수 있었다. 또한 예인삭만 연결한 상태보다 예인삭에 브라이들을 연결하는 것이 부선의 회두가 작아지며, 브라이들의 길이가 길어질수록 부선의 회두운동이 크게 작아짐을 알 수 있었다.

중복 Z-성형술을 이용한 큐피드활의 교정 (SURGICAL CORRECTION OF A CUPID'S BOW USING A DOUBLE Z-PLASTY: REPORT OF A CASE)

  • 이차 구순비성형술을 받고자 본과에 내원한 편측성 완전 구순구개열을 가진 29세 남자 환자에서 상방으로 반전된 큐피드활과 적순부의 휘파람 변형을 교정하기 위해 중복 Z-성형술을 시행하였다. 수술 후에 반전된 큐피드활이 정상적인 형태로 재건되고 휘파람 변형이 없어졌으며 상순의 긴장도가 완화되었다. 중복 Z-성형술시 적순부 내에서만 피판을 형성하므로 피부에는 새로운 반흔이 생기지 않아 심미적으로 만족스러웠고 상순결절은 더욱 볼록해 졌다. 수술 4년경과 후 큐피드활은 부드러운 곡선으로 좌우 대칭을 이루고 매우 자연스럽게 보였으며 장기적인 추적관찰 결과 양호한 결과를 보였다. 중복 Z-성형술은 반전된 큐피드활의 교정시 다른 수술방법에 비해 술식이 간단하고 주위조직 손상이 적으며 휘파람 변형의 교정도 가능한 좋은 방법이라고 사료된다.
