  • This work is conceded with the estimation of output derivatives and their use for the design of robust controller for linear systems with system uncertainties due to modeling errors and disturbances. It is assumed that a nominal transfer function model and quantitative bounds for system uncertainties and known. The developed control schemes are shown to achieve regulation of the system output and ensures boundedness of the system states without imposing any structural conditions on system uncertainties and disturbances. Output derivative estimation is first conducted through restructuring of the plant in a specific parameterization. They are utilized for constructing robust nonlinear high-gain feedback controller of a SMC(Sliding Mode Control)type. The performances of the developed controller are evaluated and shown to be effective and useful through simulation study.

  • This paper describes the parameter convergence properties of an adaptive system to identify a single-input single-output plant model. It is demonstrated that, by using power spectrum analysis, the persistency of excitation (PE) condition in order to guarantee the exponential stability of the adaptive control system can be transformed into the positive definite behavior for the auto-correlation function matrix of adaptive signal. The existence of parameter nominal values can be analyzed by this condition and the convergence rates of parameter are determined by examining the auto-correlation function. We may use the sufficient richness (SR) of input spectrum instead of the PE condition to analyze the parameter boundedness. It can be shown that the eigen values of the auto-correlation function are always related with adaptive gain, input amplitude and positions or numbers of input spectra. In each case, the variation of parameter convergence rate can be also verified.

  • The robust output tracking control problem of general nonlinear MIMO systems is discussed. The robustness against parameter uncertainties is considered. In this paper, we proposed the robust output tracking control scheme for a class of MIMO nonlinear dynamical systems using output feedback linearization method. The presented control scheme is based on the VSS. We assume that the nonlinear dynamical system is minimum phase, the relative degree of the system is r$_{1}$+r$_{2}$+…r$_{m}$$\leq$ n and zero dynamics is stable. It is shown that the outputs of the closed-loop system asymptotically track given output trajectories despite the uncertainties while maintaining the boundedness of all signals inside the loop. And we verified that the proposed control scheme is then applied to the control of a two degree of freedom (DOF) robotic manipulator with payload.d.

  • We establish appropriate $L^p$ estimates for a class of maximal operators $S_{\Omega}^{(\gamma)}$ on the product space $R^n\;\times\;R^m\;when\;\Omega$ lacks regularity and $1\;\le\;\gamma\;\le\;2.\;Also,\;when\;\gamma\;=\;2$, we prove the $L^p\;(2\;{\le}\;P\;<\;\infty)\;boundedness\;of\;S_{\Omega}^{(\gamma)}\;whenever\;\Omega$ is a function in a certain block space $B_q^{(0,0)}(S^{n-1}\;\times\;S^{m-1})$ (for some q > 1). Moreover, we show that the condition $\Omega\;{\in}\;B_q^{(0,0)}(S^{n-1}\;\times\;S^{m-1})$ is nearly optimal in the sense that the operator $S_{\Omega}^{(2)}$ may fail to be bounded on $L^2$ if the condition $\Omega\;{\in}\;B_q^{(0,0)}(S^{n-1}\;\times\;S^{m-1})$ is replaced by the weaker conditions $\Omega\;{\in}\;B_q^{(0,\varepsilon)}(S^{n-1}\;\times\;S^{m-1})\;for\;any\;-1\;<\;\varepsilon\;<\;0.$

  • In this paper, we present an adaptive output feedback control scheme for a class of uncertain nonlinear output-feedback form with time-varying parameters to which adaptive observer backstepping technique may not be applicable directly. In observer design, with the introduction of design function, we can deal with time-varying parameters in a very effective way. By the presented scheme, estimation error can be tuned to a desired small region around the origin via the design constants. Consequently, the observer with the presented design functions and the backstepping methodology achieve a robust regulation of the output tracking error while maintaining boundedness of all the signals and states.

  • This paper describes the design of a robust adaptive neural-net(NN) observer for uncertain nonlinear dynamical system. The Lyapunov synthesis approach is used to guarantee a uniform ultimate boundedness property of the state estimation error, as well as of all other signals in the closed-loop system. Especially, for reducing the dynamic oder of the observer, we propose a new method in which no strictly positive real(SPR) condition is needed with on-line estimation of weights of the NNs. No a priori knowledge of an upper bounds on the uncertain terms is required. The theoretical results are illustrated through a simulation example.

  • This paper shows that the solutions to the nonlinear perturbed differential system $y{\prime}=f(t,y)+\int_{t_0}^{t}g(s,y(s),T_1y(s))ds+h(t,y(t),T_2y(t))$, have the bounded property by imposing conditions on the perturbed part $\int_{t_0}^{t}g(s,y(s),T_1y(s))ds,h(t,y(t),T_2y(t))$, and on the fundamental matrix of the unperturbed system y′ = f(t, y) using the notion of h-stability.

  • The interdisciplinary study addresses the G$\ddot{o}$del's ontology from the perspective of the mathematical maximality. We first investigate G$\ddot{o}$del's God having all the positive properties as the intersection of ultrafilters in his own ontological proof(1970). Regarding the axiom of choice and his compactness theorem(1930), the next part discusses the ontological meaning of the maximal rather than the maximum in terms of an episteme space. The results show that G$\ddot{o}$del's ontological arguments imply all the existence of the maximal reality, and all the human's epistemological boundedness as well.

  • This paper proposes an analysis method of Petri nets (PNs) using the relational algebra (RA). More specifically, we represent PNs in relations of the relational model. Based on such representation, we first develop an algorithms for analyzing properties of PNs, such as boundedness, conservation, coverability, reachability, and liveness. The advantage of this approach is as follows: First, the algorithms represented by RA can be easily converted to a query language such as SQL of the widely used, commercial relational database management systems (DBMSs). Second, we can alleviate the problem of state space explosion because relational DBMSs can handle large amounts of data efficiency. Finally, we can use the DBMS's query language to interpret the Petri nets and make simulation.
