  • RTLS(Real-Time location system) for Location tracking of personnel and equipment of a construction site is now in development, among these techniques the wireless LAN-based techniques are being considered. To introduce these techniques to the construction site, the 3-dimensional visibility analysis prior to the installation location of AP must be simulated. At this time, three-dimensional visibility analysis considering the propagation distance of RTLS signal of AP(Access Point) should be performed. In this research, two processing methods LOS boundary are tested to various grid size of gridded terrestrial LiDAR data, and the results were compared. In evaluations of visible area, the Scanline Fill-Method shows approximately 7.4% more visible area than the Shadow Clipping-Method, but the Shadow Clipping-Method shows stable results for the grid size. About the processing time, the Scanline Fill-Method is about 2 times faster compared to the Shadow Clipping-Method.

  • As increase awareness of intelligent vehicle systems, many kinds of lane detection algorithm have been proposed. General boundary extraction method can bring good result in detection of lane on the road. But a shadow on the road, or other boundaries, such as horizontal lines can be detected. The method using morphological operations was used to extract information about Lane. By applying HSV color model for color information of lane, the candidate of the lane can be extracted. In this paper, the lane detection region was set by Hough transformation using the candidate of the lane. By extracting lane markings on the lane detection region, lane detection method can bring good result.

  • The classification of the background and cell areas is very important research area because of the ambiguous boundary. In this paper, the region of cell is extracted from an image of uterine cervical cytodiagnosis using the region growing method that increases the region of interest based on similarity between pixels. Segmented image from background and cell areas is binarized using a threshold value. And then 8-directional tracking algorithm for contour lines is applied to extract the cell area. First, the extracted nucleus is transformed to RGB color that is the original image. Second, the K-means clustering algorithm is employed to classify RGB pixels to the R, G, and B channels, respectively. Third, the Hue information of nucleus is extracted from the HSI models that is the transformation of the clustering values in R, G, and B channels. The backpropagation algorithm is employed to classify and identify the normal or abnormal nucleus.

  • A numerical technique for simulating the aggregation of charged particles was presented with a Brownian dynamic simulation in the free molecular regime. The Langevin equation was used for tracking each particle making up an aggregate. A periodic boundary condition was used for calculation of the aggregation process in each cell with 500 primary particles of 16 nm in diameter. We considered the thermal force and the electrostatic force for the calculation of the particle motion. The electrostatic force on a particle in the simulation cell was considered as a sum of electrostatic forces from other particles in the original cell and its replicate cells. We assumed that the electric charges accumulated on an aggregate were located on its center of mass, and aggregates were only charged with pre-charged primary particles. The morphological shape of aggregates was described in terms of the fractal dimension. In the simulation, the fractal dimension for the uncharged aggregate was D$\_$f/ = 1.761. The fractal dimension changed slightly for the various amounts of bipolar charge. However, in case of unipolar charge, the fractal dimension decreased from 1.641 to 1.537 with the increase of the average number of charges on the particles from 0.2 to 0.3 in initial states. In the bipolar charge state, the average sizes of aggregates were larger than that of the uncharged state in the early and middle stages of aggregation process, but were almost the same as the case of the uncharged state in the final stage. On the other hand, in the unipolar charge state, the average size of aggregates and the dispersion of particle volume decreased with the increasing of the charge quantities.

  • During the continuous casting of boron-bearing steel, the corner cracks on the slab are formed by deformation with low strain rate and rapid cooling at the unbending temperature within the range of 800- $1000^{\circ}C$. Especially, the rapid cooling in the corner of slab during the continuous casting leads to as corner cracking. Therefore, in this study, the hot tensile tests applied to the different cooling rates were taken into account in order to study the effect of cooling rate on the hot ductility of boron-bearing steel. The results revealed that increasing cooling rate deteriorate the hot ductility of boron- bearing steel. Rapid decreasing of the hot ductility is caused by formation of a film-like ferrite and precipitate at the austenite grain boundaries. The morphology of the precipitates in the boron-bearing steel was monitored by PTA (Particle Tracking Autoradiography) and TEM, we observed MnS and BN compound and their morphology was quite different depending on the cooling rates. When the cooling rate is increased, rodshape MnS and BN precipitates can be formed along the austenite grain boundaries. It can cause that weakening the boundary region and decreasing the hot ductility of boron-bearing steel.

  • As the number of elderly people living alone increases, the frequency of fall accidents is also increasing. Falls are a threat to the health of older adults and can reduce their ability to remain independent. To solve this problem, we need real-time technology to recognize and respond to the critical condition of the elderly living alone. Therefore, this paper proposes a modified fall detection algorithm based on YOLO-KCF that can check one of the emergency situations in real time for the elderly living alone. YOLO can detect not only the detection of objects, but also the behavior of objects, namely stand and fall. Therefore, this paper can detect fall using the ratio of change of boundary box between stand and falling situation, and this algorithm can improve the shortcomings of KCF.

  • Forestry crane work in a forest harvester or forwarder is regarded as one of most hard work requiring a very high level of operation skill. The operator must handle two or more multi-axes joysticks simultaneously to control the multiple manipulators for maneuvering the crane-tip to its intended location. This study has been carried out to develop a crane-tip controller which can intuitively maneuver the crane-tip, resulting in improving the productivity by decreasing the technical difficulty of control as well as reducing the workload. The crane-tip controller consists of a single 2-axis joystick and a control algorithm run on microcontroller. Lab-scale forestry crane was constructed using electric cylinders. The crane-tip control algorithm has the crane-tip follow the waypoints generated on the given path considering the dead band region using LBO (Lateral Boundary Offset). A speed control gain to change the speed of relevant cylinders relatively is applied as well. By the P (Proportional) control within the control interval of 20 msec, the average error of crane-tip control on the predefined straight path turned out to be 14.5 mm in all directions. When the joystick is used the waypoints are generated in real time by the direction signal from the joystick. In this case, the average error of path control was 12.4 mm for straight up, straight forward and straight down movements successively at a certain constant speed setting. In the slant movement of crane-tip by controlling two axes of joystick simultaneously, the movement of crane-tip was controlled in the average error of 15.9 mm when the crane-tip is moved up and down while moving toward forward direction. It concluded that the crane-tip control was possible using the control algorithm developed in this study.

  • Image processing is playing an important part in automation and artificial intelligence systems, such as object tracking, object recognition and classification, and the importance of IoT technology and automation is emphasizing as interest in automation increases. However, in a system that requires detailed data such as an image boundary, a precise noise removal algorithm is required. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a filtering algorithm based on the pixel value distribution pattern to minimize the information loss in the filtering process. The proposed algorithm finds the distribution pattern of neighboring pixel values with respect to the pixel values of the input image. Then, a weight mask is calculated based on the distribution pattern, and the final output is calculated by applying it to the filtering mask. The proposed algorithm has superior noise removal characteristics compared to the existing method and restored the image while minimizing blurring.

  • For the scenario of open pit mining, at present, manual periodic verification is mainly carried out in China with the help of video surveillance, which requires continuous investment in labor cost and has poor timeliness. In order to solve this difficult problem of early warning and monitoring, this paper researches a spatialized algorithmic model and designs an early warning system for open-pit mine transboundary mining, which is realized by calculating the coordinate information of the mining and extracting equipments and comparing it with the layer coordinates of the approval range of the mines in real time, so as to realize the determination of the transboundary mining behavior of the mines. By taking the Pingxiang area of Jiangxi Province as the research object, after the field experiment, it shows that the system runs stably and reliably, and verifies that the target tracking accuracy of the system is high, which can effectively improve the early warning capability of the open-pit mines' overstepping the boundary, improve the timeliness and accuracy of mine supervision, and reduce the supervision cost.
