  • The aim of this study was to determine the shear bond properties of four dentin bonding systems to internal cervical dentin, and to investigate the effect of the pretreatment for removing smear layer and position of dentin on shear bond strength of dentin bonding agents. The materials tested in this study were consisted of four commercially available dentin bonding systems[Allbond 2(AB), Clearfil Linerbond 2(CL), Optibond FL(OP), Scotchbond Multi-purpose(SB)], a restorative light-cured composite resin[Z100]J and a chelating agent[RC-prep(RC)]. Fifty-six freshly extracted human molars were used in this study. Dentin specimens were prepared by first cutting the root of the tooth 1mm below the cementoenamel junction with a diamond bur in a high speed handpiece under air-water coolant, and then removing occlusal part at pulp horn level by means of a second parallel section, The root canal areas were exposed by means of cutting the dent in specimens perpendicular to the root axis. Dentin specimens were randomly assigned to two groups(pretreated group, not-pretreated group) based on the pretreatment method of dentin surface. In pretreated group, RC was applied to dentin surface for 1minute and then rinsed with NaOCl. In not-pretreated group, dentin surface was rinsed with saline Each groups were subdevided into four groups according to dentin bonding systems. Four dentin bonding systems and a restorative resin were applied according to the directions of manufacturer. The dentin-resin specimens were embedded in a cold cure acrylic resin, and were cut with a low speed diamond saw to the dimension of $1{\times}1mm$. The cut specimens were divided into three groups according to the position of internal cervical dentin. The shear bond properties of dentin-resin specimens were measured with Universal testing machine (Zwick, 020, Germany) with the cross head speed of 0.5mm/min. From this experiment. the following results were obtained : 1. In case of shear bond strength, there was no significant difference among dentin bonding systems in not-pretreated groups, whereas in pretreated groups, the shear bond strengths of AB and of SB were statistically significantly higher than those of CL and of OP. 2. The shear bond strengths of AB and of SB in pretreated groups were significantly higher than those in not-pretreated groups. 3. The shear bond strengths of radicular layer of OP were higher than those of occlusal layer of OP in not-pretreated groups, and of AB in pretreated groups. The shear bond strengths of radicular layer of AB and of CL in not-pretreated groups were higher than those in pretreated group.

산처리(酸處理)된 Enamel표면(表面)에 대(對)한 Composite resin의 인장접착강도(引張接着强度)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (STUDY OF THE TENSILE BOND STRENGTH OF COMPOSITES RESINS APPLIED TO ACID-ECHED ENAMEL)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the tensile bond strength between composite resin and the human enamel. Three composite resin systems, two chemical (Clearfil Posterior, and Clearfil Posterior-3) and one light cure (Photo Clearfil-A), used with and without an intermediate resin (clearfil bonding agent), were evaluated under different amounts of load (10g, 200g and 200g for a moment) for in vitro tensile bond strength to acid-eched human enamel. Clinically intact buccal or lingual surfaces of 144 freshly extracted human permanent molars, embedded in acrylic were flattened with No #600 carborundum discs. Samples were randomly assigned to the different materials and treatments using a table of random numbers. Eight samples were thus prepared for each group(Table 2) these surfaces were etched with an acid etchant (Kurarey Co. Japan) in a mode of etching for 30 seconds, washing for 15 seconds, and drying for 30-seconds. During the polymerization of composite resin on the acid-etched enamel surfaces with and without bonding agent 10-gram, 200 gram and temporary 200 gram of load were applied. The specimens were stored in 50% relation humidity at $37^{\circ}C$ for 24 hours before testing. An universal Testing machine (Intesco model No. 2010, Tokyo, Japan) was used to apply tensile loads in the vertical directed (fig 5), and the force required for separation was recorded with a cross head speed of 0.25 mm/min and 20 kg in full scale. The results were as follow: 1. The tensile bond strength was much greater in applying a bonding agent than in not doing that. 2. The tensile bond strength of chemical cure composite resin was higher than that of light cure composite resin with applying on bonding agent on the acid-etched enamel. 3. In case of not applying a bonding agents on the acid-etching enamel, the highest tensile bond strength under 200 gram of load was measured in light cure composite resin. 4. The tensile bond strength under 200-gram of load has no relation with applying the bonding agent. 5. Under the load of 10-gram, There was significant difference in tensile bond strength as applying the bonding agent.

치면건조제와 접착제의 사용에 따른 치면열구전색재의 전단결합강도에 관한 연구 (THE EFFECTS OF DRYING AGENTS AND BONDING AGENTS ON THE SHEAR BOND STRENGTH OF SEALANTS TO ENAMEL)

  • 전색재의 적용은 기술에 매우 민감한 술식으로써 도포 전에 치면의 완전한 건조를 요구한다. 전색재 실패의 여러 요인 중 가장 주된 원인으로는 산부식 후 전색재 도포 전의 수분 또는 타액에 의한 오염인 것으로 인정되고 있다. 본 연구는 기존의 산부식만을 해오던 술식과 수분오염의 극복을 위해 변형된 술식이 전색재의 유지력에 미치는 효과를 전단결합강도를 측정하여 비교하고자 하였다. 1, 2, 3, 4군은 unfilled sealant인 Teethmate-F를, 5, 6, 7, 8군은 filled sealant인 Ultraseal XT plus를 사용하였다. 대조군인 1군과 5군은 35% 인산으로 15초간 산부식과 세척 후 건조시켰다. 2군과 6군은 여기에 치면건조제를 도포하였고, 3군과 7군에는 접착제를 도포하고 광중합하였다. 4군과 8군은 치면건조제와 접착제를 둘 다 도포하였다. 이후 직경 3mm, 높이 2mm의 몰드를 이용하여 전색재를 접착시키고 열순환을 시행한 다음 전단결합강도를 측정하여 다음의 결과를 얻었다. 1. filled sealant(5, 6, 7, 8군)에서 전단결합강도는 unfilled sealant(1, 2, 3, 4군)에 비해 각각 유의성 있게 높은 값을 보였다(p<0.05). 2. unfilled sealant에서는 산부식 처리만 한 1군에 비해 2, 3, 4군은 유의성 있게 전단결합강도가 증가하였으며(p<0.05), 2, 3, 4군 간에는 유의한 차이를 나타내지 않았다. 3. filled sealant에서는 산부식 처리만 한 5군에 비해 6, 7, 8군의 전단결합강도가 증가하였으나 유의성 있는 차이를 보이지 않았다. 그리고 6, 7, 8군 간에도 유의한 차이는 없었다. 4. 파절면 검사결과 ailed sealant 군에서는 응집성 파절이 관찰되지 않았으나, unfilled sealant 군에서는 2, 3, 4군에서 응집성 파절이 나타났다.를 보였으며 복합 레진은 유의차가 없었다. 상악 견치 (8%), 하악 제 1소구치 (5%) 순이었다. 10. I군에서 추정되는 낭의 발생 원인으로는 치수절단술을 받은 유치가 59.2%로 가장 많았고 이외에 심한 우식 및 치료 받지 않은 외상 병력등 기타 가능한 원인들이 있었다. 11.함치성 낭의 치료법으로는 I군의 경우 61.2%에서 조대술이 시행되었고, II군과 III군의 경우 61.1%, 80.0%에서 적출술이 시행되었다.mH I처치시 SM1과 SM2는 4조각의 절편으로 절단되어 같은 양상을 보였고, GS톤의 경우는 3조각의 절편으로 절단되었다. Kpn I, Sma I, Xho I 그리고 Pst I에는 절단되지 않았다.s subsp. salicinius와 유전자 유사치가 99.60%, 99.73%를 보여 Lactobacillus salivarius subsp. salicinius로 동정되었다. 이상의 결과를 종합하면 치아우식증이 없는 소아의 타액에서 분리된 유산균 중 과산화수소를 분비하여 인공치태 형성과 휘발성 유황화합물 생성을 억제하는 분리균주는 Lactobacillus salivarius subsp. salicinius로 동정되었다.적으로 낮은 수축률과 우수한 물성을 보였으며, 나노필러를 사용한 복합레진의 경우, 기존의 hybrid 필러를 이용한 레진에 비하여 수축응력을 감소시키지는 못하였다. 나노필러를 이용한 복합레진은 개발의 초기단계이며, 물성의 증가를 위한 연구가 필요할 것으로 사료된다.또 다른 약물인 glycyrrhetinic acid($100{\mu}M$)도 CCh 자극으로 인한 타액분비를 억제하였다. 이상의 결과로 미루어 gap junction은 흰쥐 악하선 세포로부터의 타액분비 조절에 중요한 역할을 하는데, 이는 gap junction이 세포막 $Ca^{2+}$ 통로를 조절함으로써 수용체 자극으로 유발된 세포내

Performance of Fixing Agents in Controlling Micro-Stickies in Recycled Newsprint Pulp

  • The microstickes control effects of some fixing agents, including an inorganic PAC, an organic polyamine (PA) and polydiallydimethyl ammonium chloride (Pdadmac), and a high cationic starch (HCS), were investigated, together with their effects on wet end performances and physical properties of handsheets. Despite that the HCS and Pdadmac had lower cationic charge densities than the PA and PAC (the HCS being even lower), they gave higher zeta potentials to fibers, and lower turbidities, cationic demands and residual COD contents to the pulp liquid phases than the PA and PAC did. In all cases, the HCS showed even better effects than the Pdadmac. In addition, drainage speed was also much higher by the HCS treatments although paper formation was worsened. All the phenomena showed that the HCS can fix more dissolved and colloidal substances to cellulose fibers, indicating that the HCS functioned mainly with flocculation and even hydrogen bonding mechanisms. Data on optical properties further indicated that the HCS interacted preferentially with colloidal substances, since it fixed more 'dirty' microstickes to fibers which decreased more sheet brightness while increasing more sheet opacity (with both higher light absorption and scattering coefficients). Interestingly, the organic fixing agents did not decrease tensile, tearing, and folding strengths of paper sheets made from 100% recycled newsprint pulp, except when they were dosed in high amounts. On the contrary, the inorganic PAC had more serious negative effects on the strength properties, especially on folding endurance. The study suggested that proper use of the HCS can lead to better microstickies control effects than traditional agents and methods.

Plasma Arc Curing light (Apollo 95E) 광중합기는 여러개의 최대정점을 가지며 넓은 spectral distribution과 $2307mW/cm^2$의 높은 광강도를 나타내었고, VIP Junior 광중합기는 490 nm에서 최대정점을 갖는 넓은 spectral distribution을 나타내었고, Elipar Freeelight 2 광중합기는 462 nm의 최대정점 주위로 좁은 spectral distribution을 보였다. Two-Way ANOVA와 Bonferroni's multiple comparison test를 이용하여 상아질 전단접착강도를 분석한 결과, PAC 광중합기와 LED 광중합기 간에 유의성 있는 차이를 보이지 않았으며 (P > 0.05), 상아질 접착제와 광중합기의 교호관계에도 유의성이 없었다. 그러나 상아질 접착제는 상호간에 유의성 있는 차이를 보였다 (P < 0.00).

Cyanate methacrylate가 상아질 결합강도에 미치는 영향 (THE EFFECT OF CYANATE METHACRYLATE ON THE SHEAR BOND STRENGTHS TO DENTIN)

  • 접착제의 술식을 간편하게 하고 효과적이며 안정적인 접착강도를 지닌 상아질 접착제를 개발하고자 isocyanate methacrylate의 농도를 달리해 상아질에 적용하여 전단결합강도를 측정하고 응집파괴양상을 분석, 평가하였다. Isocyanate methacrylate의 농도에 따라 0% (대조군), 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, 및 12%의 7개 실험군으로 분류하였으며 , Instron (No.4466.USA)를 이용하여 복합레진의 전단 결합강도를 측정하고 Resin tag 및 응집파괴를 주사전자현미경으로 관찰해 다음 결론을 얻었다. 1. Cyanate methacrylate 8%군이 가장 높은 전단 결합강도는 나타내었으나 (33.62 KPa), 통계학적 유의성이 없었다 (P > 0.05). 2. Cyanate methacrylate 2% ,4% 및 6%군은 응집성파괴빈도가 대조군 (0%군)과 비교하여 높게 나타났다. 3. Cyanate menthacrylate군에서 레진tag의 길이는 짧게 나타났다. 이상의 연구의 결과로 cyanate methacrylate가 collagen과 반응하여 상아질 내로 침투를 방해하며 레진 tag의 길이를 짧게 하며 상아질의 유기성분과의 반응에 의하여 결합강도는 높아질 수 있으나, 상아질 자체의 강도가 낮아질 수 있어 상아질에 대한 결합강도의 실질적인 증가는 확인할 수 없었다.

Effects of a new desensitizing paste containing 8% arginine and calcium carbonate on the shear bond strength of orthodontic brackets

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate shear bond strength (SBS) and failure site location of brackets bonded to enamel with or without desensitizer application. Methods: Sixty-six freshly extracted human premolar teeth were randomly divided into 3 groups of 22. Group 1 served as the control. Desensitizer was applied to the remaining teeth at two time intervals (Group 2, bonded immediately after Pro-$Relief^{TM}$ (Colgate-Palmolive Co., New York, NY, USA) application and Group 3, bonded 30 days after Pro-$Relief^{TM}$ application with the teeth stored in artificial saliva during the 30 days). Orthodontic brackets were bonded with a light cure composite resin and cured with a halogen light. After bonding, the SBS of the brackets was tested using a universal testing device. Adhesive remnant index (ARI) scores were determined after the brackets failed. Data were analyzed with analysis of variance, Tukey's HSD, and G tests. Results: The SBS was significantly lower in Group 2 than in Groups 1 (p = 0.024) and 3 (p = 0.017). Groups 1 and Group 3 did not differ (p = 0.991). ARI scores did not differ significantly among groups. Conclusions: The Pro-$Relief^{TM}$ desensitizer agent applied immediately before bonding significantly reduces bond strength, but the SBS values still exceed the minimum 5.9 - 7.8 MPa required for adequate clinical performance. Immersing the teeth in artificial saliva for 30 days after applying the Pro-$Relief^{TM}$ desensitizer agent and before bonding increased the SBS to control levels.

항암성물질의 개발을 위한 cis-Diamminedichloroplatinum (cis-DDP) 류와 DNA base인 1-Methylcytosine의 Interaction에 관한 분자궤도함수론적 연구 (The MO Study about Interaction of cis-Diamminedichloroplatinum (cis-DDP) Complexes with DNA base, 1-Methylcytosine, for Development of Anti-Tumor Drugs)

  • cis-diamminedichloroplatinum (II)에서 아민리간드가 변화할 때, 항암성과 백금원자의 전자구조 사이의 관계를 연구하였고, 또 이러한 착물과 DNA base인 1-methylcytosine의 상호작용에 대한 메카니즘을 알기 위해서 백금(II)착물들을 분자궤도함수론적으로 연구하였다. 그 결과, 백금착물에서 중심금속의 atomic charge가 항암성에 영향을 미치고 있음을 알았다. 또한 백금착물과 1-methylcytosine의 결합은 리간드에서 금속원자로 전하이동을 하였고, 이 때 Pt(II)의 6p-orbital이 중요한 하고 있음을 발견한다. Pt-N3결합성은 $\alpha$$\pi$ 성분을 포함하고 있으며, 실험한 값과 비교할 때 비교할 때 항암성이 큰 백금착물일수록 Pt-N3 결합이 강하게 형성하고 있었다.

Evaluation of bonding efficiency between facial silicone and acrylic resin using different bonding agents and surface alterations

  • PURPOSE. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of 3 silicone primers and 3 surface characterization of acrylic resin surface on bond strength between silicone elastomer and acrylic resin. MATERIALS AND METHODS. 96 Cosmesil silicones bonded to heat-curing acrylic resin were fabricated with the dimension of $75{\times}10{\times}3$ mm. The 3 primers used in this study were G611 platinum primer, A-330 Gold platinum primer, and cyanoacrylates resin. Specimens without primer were used as control. The 3 types of surface characterization done were retentive holes with 1.5 mm in diameter and 0.5 mm deep, retentive beads of 0.6 mm diameter and the third type which was plain without any characterization. The specimens were then checked for bond strength by subjecting them to $180^{\circ}$ peel test on a universal testing machine. The obtained results were then subjected to statistical analysis using 2-way ANOVA and Scheff$\acute{e}$ multiple post hoc procedures. The statistical significance was set at 5% level of significance. RESULTS. The maximum bond strength was seen for samples in which A-330G primer was used followed by G611 primer. The control group showed the minimum bond strength. Surface characterization of retentive holes increased the bond strength considerably as compared to retentive beads and samples without any surface characterization. CONCLUSION. Within the limitations of the study, A-330G primer was more compatible with Cosmesil M511 silicone and has better bonding of Cosmesil to acrylic resin. Retentive holes made on acrylic surface increased the bond strength considerably than those without any surface characterization.
