Postmodern Characteristics of the body in Fashion Advertisements (패션광고에 나타난 몸의 포스트모더니즘적 특징)

  • As a form of media diversified and changed by the development of technology, fashion advertisements have brought a new change in representation of the body. With this transition, the characteristics of the body, which is in an inseparable relationship with fashion, have been dramatically changed in fashion advertisements. In hugely extended media flow, fashion advertisements suggest concepts of the body that are completely different from the past and became the focus in advertisements. Moreover, the body in fashion advertisements involve the symbolisms of social and cultural backgrounds followed by their commercialization. This study analyzes the characteristics of the body in fashion advertisements drawing on the innovative concepts of the body in contemporary society which is essentially different from the past ones; these characteristics are examined as postmodern features. The features are categorized as follows; hyperreal body, virtual body, fragmentization of the body through neologism, reconsideration of naked body, and decentralized body. The postmodern characteristics of the body have changed the boundary, broken traditional concepts and thoughts, and proposed new trends by creating revolutions though diversified media. Rapidly changing media is considered to be further accelerated; this transition highlights the postmodern characteristics of the body in fashion advertisements in more innovative methods.

Determination of Surface Currents on Circular Microstrip Antennas

  • This work aims to present a theoretical analysis of the electric and magnetic surface current densities of a circular microstrip antenna (CMSA) as a body of revolution. The rigorous analysis of these problems begins with the application of the equivalence principle, which introduces an unknown electric current density on the conducting surface and both unknown equivalent electric and magnetic surface current densities on the dielectric surface. These current densities satisfy the integral equations (IEs) obtained by canceling the tangential components of the electric field on the conducting surface and enforcing the continuity of the tangential components of the fields across the dielectric surface. The formulation of the radiation problems is based on the combined field integral equation. This formulation is coupled with the method of moments (MoMs) as a numerical solution for this equation. The numerical results of the electric and magnetic surface current densities on the outside boundary of a CMSA excited by $TM_{11^-}$ and $TM_{21^-}$ modes are presented. The radiation pattern is calculated numerically in the two principle planes for a CMSA and gives a good results compared with measured results published by other research workers.

  • I try to elucidate the essence of cinematic art in terms of Nietzsche's physiological philosophy of art. According to Nietzsche, the mise-en-$sc{\grave{e}}nes$ in the film are expressions of willingness to the power of the author, the director. These are not re-imitations of the imitations with Platonic measure, sinker, number, but framing the elan vital Erde, die $urspr{\ddot{u}}ngliche$ Vorstellung with the director's body-camera. In this context, the film is essentially die Kunst des Lebens, in which the body and the earth are mediated by cameras. Therefore, it is not the eyes or the head, but the body that is necessary to appreciate film art. But the body at this time does not mean the heavy body of Hollywood standard audiences manipulated, controlled, or transformed by capital. We should stand in front of the film work with body shaking between trauma and Rausch, a dancing body, and a light and fresh body. Only by watching film with the body, can we achieve the small revolutions in everyday life. For example, if we watch $B{\acute{e}}la$ Tarr's film The Turin Horse in such a way, we can no longer be the dwarfed human beings, der Herde-Mensch. Also, $B{\acute{e}}la$ Tarr's mise-en-scene will make us realize why Nietzsche had said that there is art to us not to be destroyed by the platonic truth.

A Study on Dynamic Characteristics Analysis of Spindle Unit for Two-for-One Twister (투포원 연사기용 스핀들 유니트의 동특성 해석에 관한 연구)

  • Two-for-one twister is a kind of textile machine and makes special fancy yarn which is twisted two times per one revolution in order to increase tensile strength and wear resis-tance of yarn. Spindle mechanism has to be stable and continuous motion in high speed revolution, and then optimal design is necessary to analyze dynamic characteristics of spindle unit. Spindle unit is consist of blade and rotary disc that are cylindrical body of revolution. For analysis of the dynamic characteristics of spindle unit, transfer matrix method is used and a numerical code SPINDLE also. Torsion and natural bending frequency of the spindle unit are examined. Its displacement mode is studied in function of variable revolutions.
