  • State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine of the People's Republic of China lead Research on Chao medicine's Constitutional Treatment project by which could involve the following principles. First, constitution can be identified, second, constitution correlates to ones susceptibility to diseases, third, constitution can be harmonized, fourth, prescription made according to ones constitution and patterns. These ideas is originated by Lee Je-ma's theory of Four Constitution Type in "DongEuiSooSeBoWon"(Longetivity and Life Preservation in Eastern Medicine). This is much similar to currents trends of personalized medicine in western medical sciences. Therefore further developing Lee's theory would have significant value on various fields of medicine.

Use of Terrestrial Hyperspectral Sensors for Analyzing Spectral Reflectance Characteristics of Concrete

  • The purpose of this research is to extract spectral reflectance characteristics of concretes through basic experiment on concrete specimens and site experiment on actual concrete structures using a field portable spectrometer and a VNIR hyperspectral sensor. A spectrometer (GER-3700) and a VNIR hyperspectral camera (AisaEagle VNIR Hyperspectral Camera) were utilized for extracting spectral characteristics of concrete specimens. Concretes normally show similar patterns that have correlation above 80%, while the high-strengthened concretes display very different results from the normal-strength concretes. We also made a certain conclusion in the laboratory experiment on concrete specimens that both the spectrometer and the VNIR camera vary in spectral reflectance depending on concrete strengths.

  • 실시간적인 데이터의 수집과 더불어 수집한 데이터의 실시간적인 전송을 기반으로 사용자가 센서데이터를 보다 폭넓게 활용할 수 있는 환경을 제공하기 위해 시스템에서 자동적으로 정보를 배포해주는 정보배포 시스템의 필요성이 증대되고 있다. 이러한 요구에 맞추어 본 논문에서는 그리드 환경을 기반으로 센서네트워크에서 유입되는 방대한 양의 데이터를 처리 및 공유하기 위한 정보배포 시스템과 보다 효율적으로 데이터와 사용자의 요구를 매칭하는 방법을 제공하는 CGIM알고리즘을 제안하였다.

Multi-modality image fusion via generalized Riesz-wavelet transformation

  • To preserve the spatial consistency of low-level features, generalized Riesz-wavelet transform (GRWT) is adopted for fusing multi-modality images. The proposed method can capture the directional image structure arbitrarily by exploiting a suitable parameterization fusion model and additional structural information. Its fusion patterns are controlled by a heuristic fusion model based on image phase and coherence features. It can explore and keep the structural information efficiently and consistently. A performance analysis of the proposed method applied to real-world images demonstrates that it is competitive with the state-of-art fusion methods, especially in combining structural information.

  • Exact simulation of conducted EMI in switched mode power supplies is proposed. In order to achieve exact simulation, PSPICE active component ABM model and modified transformer model are proposed. Each model parameter is extracted from measurements and data-books. PSPICE simulation results with high frequency PCB pattern model are accordant with EMI measurements for a 50[W] isolated flyback converter. EMI relations of each component and EMI patterns are analyzed.

  • The increasement in the floor hight may be one of the most significant problem in the use of precast concrete double slab in the multi-story buildings. The modified double-tees including duct space at the ends of slab were considered in this study. The length and thickness of nib of modified double tee was increased to receive the uniform reaction from rectangular beam, while the original PCI dapped one to receive the point load from inverted tee beam to the leg of double tee. Shear tests were performed on the ends of the modified double tees which were designed by strut-tie model. The modified double tees generally show more ductile flexural failure in the long thickened nib. It is concluded that they show superior failure patterns than that of original dapped one with shear failure.

  • This paper presented an automatic system for display quality measurement by image processing. The goal is to replace human eyes for display quality evaluation by computer vision and get the objective quality review for consumer to make purchase of monitor or TV. Color, contrast, brightness, sharpness and motion blur are the main five factors to affect display quality that could be measured by supplying patterns and analyzing the corresponding images captured from webcam. The scores are calculated by image processing techniques. Linear regression model is then adopted to find the relation between human score and the measured display performance.

  • Biodegradable cationic poly(ester-amide) polymers were synthesized by double-monomer method, that showed excellent solubility in many organic solvents and water. Different degradation patterns were obtained by the regulation of monomer ratios and overall long period of time of DNA protection up to 12 days was shown by PicoGreen reagent assay. Good transfection profiles in the presence of serum and very low toxicity on mammalian cells may allow these polymers to become suitable for long-term gene delivery systems and therapeutic applications.

  • 본 논문에서는 의료영상의 특성을 반영하여 영상의 그래디언트 방향 값을 특징으로 하는 Oriented Center Symmetric Local Binary Patterns (OCS-LBP) 특징을 개발하고 추출된 특징 값에 대해 차원을 줄이고 의미 있는 특징 단위로 재 생성하기 위해 Bag-of-Feature (BoF)를 적용하였다. 검색을 위해서는 기존의 영상 검색 방법과는 다르게, 학습 영상을 이용하여 랜덤 포리스트 (Random Forest)를 사전에 학습시켜 데이터베이스 영상을 N 개의 클래스로 자동 분류 시키고, 질의로 입력된 영상을 같은 방법으로 랜덤 포리스트에 적용하여 상위 확률 값을 갖는 2 개의 클래스에서만 K-nearest neighbor 방법으로 유사 영상을 검색결과로 제시하는 새로운 영상검색 방법을 제시하였다. 실험결과에서 본 논문의 우수성을 증명하기 위해 일반적인 유사성 측정 방법과 랜덤 포리스트를 이용한 방법의 검색 성능 및 시간을 비교하였고, 검색 성능과 시간 면에서 상대적으로 매우 우수한 성능을 보여줌을 증명하였다.

  • From dye-assisted conventional chromoendoscopy to novel virtual chromoendoscopy, image-enhanced endoscopy (IEE) is continuously evolving to meet clinical needs and improve the quality of colonoscopy. Dye-assisted chromoendoscopy using indigo carmine or crystal violet, although slightly old-fashioned, is still useful to emphasize the pit patterns of the colonic mucosa and predict the histological structures of relevant lesions. Equipment-based virtual chromoendoscopy has the advantage of being relatively easy to use. There are several types of virtual chromoendoscopy that vary depending on the manufacturer and operating principle. IEE plays distinctive roles with respect to histologic characterization of colorectal polyps and prediction of the invasion depth of colorectal cancers. In addition, the newest models of IEE have the potential to increase adenoma and polyp detection rates in screening colonoscopy.
