Gravitational collapse is a dynamical process associated with star formation. One observational evidence of such infall motion is so called "blue asymmetry" profile, which is the optically thick line profile with the intensity peak skewed blueward relative to the intensity peak of optically thin lines. We analyzed both HCN J=1-0 and HNC J=1-0 line profiles to study the inflow motion in different evolutionary stages of massive star formation; Infrared dark clouds (IRDCs), High-mass protostellar object (HMPOs), and Ultra-compact HII regions (UCHIIs). The infall asymmetry in the HCN spectra seems to be more prevalent than the HNC spectra throughout all the three evolutionary phases. The prevalence of the blue profile in the HCN spectra is found in every evolutionary stage, with IRDCs showing the largest blue excess. In the case of the HNC spectra, only IRDCs show the blue excess statistically significant. These results suggest that HCN may be a better infall tracer in massive star forming region. In addition, even though the characteristics of the blue profile largely depend on the suitable combination of optical depth and critical density, our analyses also indicate that IRDCs may have the most active infall process compared to other evolutionary phases.

The infall asymmetry in HCN spectra seems to be prevalent throughout all the three evolutionary phases, with IRDCs showing the largest excess in blue profile. In the case of HNC spectra, the prevalence of blue sources does not appear, excepting for IRDCs. We suggest that this line is not appropriate to trace infall motion in evolved stages of massive star formation because of an astrochemical effect. This result spotlights the importance of considering chemistry in dynamical study in star-forming regions. The fact that the IRDCs show the highest blue excess in both infall tracers indicates that the most active infall occurs in the early phase of star formation, i.e., the IRDC phase rather than in the later phases. However, the UCHIIs is likely still accreting matters. We also found that the absorption dips of the HNC spectra in all blue sources are red--shifted relative to their central velocities. These red-shifted absorption dips may indicate the observational signature of overall collapse although observations with better resolutions are needed to examine this feature more in detail.

Cholesteric Blue phase (ChBP) is constructed by the regular arrangement of the double helix, whereas the Smectic Blue phase (SmBP) has the inter-connected multi-lamellar structure. Orientation fluctuations of polymer stabilized ChBP and spontaneously super-cooled SmBP are discussed. Spatial topology of the defects play key role on the dynamic properties.
In the present study, $TiO_2$ imbedded composite powders have been successfully prepared from the (Cu. Zn)/$TiO_2$ composite salt solution. The composite (Cu, Zn)/$TiO_2$ powders were formed by drying the solution at 200~$600^{\circ}C$ in the hydrogen atmosphere. Photocatalytic characteristics was evaluated by detecting the decomposition ratio of aniline blue with UV-visible spectrophotometer(Shimazu Co., UV-1601). Phase analysis of (Cu, Zn)/$TiO_2$ composite powders was carried out by XRD and DSC, and powder size was measured with TEM. The mean particle size of composite powders was about 100mm. As the reduction temperature increases, a few zinc sulfide and oxide phases was formed and copper oxide phase was reduced. The decomposition ratio of aniline blue was about 80% under the UV irradiation by the TiO$_2$ phase in the composite (Cu, Zn)/$TiO_2$ powders and similar decomposition ratio of 80% was obtained at the UV lightless condition by virtue of Cu and Zn compounds.

Al-Zn-Mg-Si alloy coatings have been developed to inhibit corrosion of cold rolled steel sheets, and an understanding of the alloy system helps prevent coating defects. We used a Bridgman furnace to characterise the nature and formation mechanisms of the phases present in the quaternary system with 0.4 wt% Fe. In the directional solidification experiments we imposed steep temperature gradients and varied the pull rate. After the samples were quenched in the furnace, detailed characterization of the samples was carried out by electron microscopy (SEM/EDS). From the dT/dt vs T plots of the cooling curves of the alloys, the solidification path was determined to be $Liquid{\longrightarrow[80]^{544-558}}{\alpha}-Al{\longrightarrow[80]^{453-459}}Al/Mg_2Si{\longrightarrow[80]^{371-374}}Al/Zn{\longrightarrow[80]^{331-333}}Zn/mgZn_2$. The formation mechanisms of the Mg and Zn containing phases and their morphology was discussed together with the effects of the cooling rate. Key findings include the lengthening of the mushy zone in directionally solidified samples remelted against a positive temperature gradient, as well as an enrichening of the α-Al phase by Zn through remelting. Mg2Si and other Si based phases were observed to adopt a much finer faceted microstructure in favour of a script-like microstructure when exposed to the higher cooling rate of coolant quenching.
In this paper, we analyze and review introduction, implementation, and revision phases in the six sigma movement in LG Electronics. In LG Electronics, 6 sigma activities have been activated not only at manufacturing divisions but also in transactional processes, business, product R&D, marketing, and software development. At present, six sigma is a tool to improve processes and also become the engine of the business innovation. In this paper, concepts and contents of an on-going LG innovation process called TDR(Tear Down & Redesign) are explained in detail. We also propose important aspects and give the future prospect for six sigma.
This study deals with the color formation of ceramic pigment in the $TiO_2$-SnO-ZnO system. We designed compounds to control the color formation depending on the composition using the Design of Experiment. The color coordinate values of synthesized pigments, $L^*a^*b^*$ were measured and statistically analyzed color for changing elements depending on its composition. The relationship between the major crystalline phases and chromaticity was examined using XRD, and the oxidation states of each element were analyzed by XPS. The synthesized pigments based on the compound design exhibited various color changes ranging from yellow-orange to green-blue and brown. The statistical analysis on the spectrophotometer results shows that $a^*$ and $b^*$ values decreased with $TiO_2$ content, and increased with SnO content. Yellow-orange color was detected with the main peak of SnO, and the green-blue color developed with the main peak of $Zn_2TiO_4$. The $a^*$ and $b^*$ values increased with increased SnO peak intensity, and decreased with increased $Zn_2TiO_4$ peak intensity. The results revealed that pigment color formation was influenced by changes in the main crystalline phases and crystalline intensity. However, XPS analysis of the oxidation states of each element showed little correlation with the pigment chromaticity result.
