Purpose: Blowout fractures of the orbit are common sequelae to blunt facial trauma and now increasing in number due to automobile accidents, violence and industrial disasters. There are some reports of diagnosis and treatment of this fracture, but detailed data provided in overall aspects are very few. We analysed extensive data to provide guide line of blowout fracture patients care. Methods: We retrospectively studied 387 orbital blowout fracture patients who had been followed up at least 3-6 months. Their hospital records were reviewed according to causes, fracture site, operation methods, and follow up results, etc. Results: The ratio of males to females was 7 : 3 and fractures were most often seen in the 20-29 age group. 180(47%) patients had medial orbital wall fractures, 155(40%) patients had floor fractures and 52(13%) patients had a combination of orbital floor and medial wall fractures. The highest associated bone fracture was the nasal bone(37%). The open reduction was done in the 324 patients(83.7%) and insertion materials were used in the 249 patients(77%). Total 45 patients(14%) complained of residual diplopia and 26 patients(8%) kept mild enophthalmos. 24 patients(7%) showed some restriction of extraocular muscle movements. Conclusion: We broadly surveyed the information of blow out fracture patients and believe that this study provides important prognostic information that can be of benefit to both patient and surgeon during preoperative counseling and postoperative analysis of orbital blowout fractures.
Effects of silane modifier, bis(triethoxysilylpropyl) tetrasulfide (TESPT(S4)) and bis(triethoxysilylpropyl) disulfide (TESPD(S2)), on silica filled compound were investigated upon processability, dynamic, mechanical, heat build-up, blowout properties, and silica dispersion in natural rubber (NR). The temperature of the S2 treated silica compound generated higher than that of the S4 treated compound during internal mixer compounding. The shear viscosity of the S2 compound exhibited lower than that of the S4 compound and the viscosity measured in dynamic mode was close to each other. The elongation modulus of the S2 compound exhibited lower than that of the S4; however, the tear resistance strength of the S2 compound exhibited higher than that of the S4 compound. The loss tan$\delta$ values of the S2 compound exhibited higher than those of the S4 at room temperature. The augmentation of the test temperature lowered the tan$\delta$ values of each compound, which results in close tan$\delta$ values to each other at $100^{\circ}C$. The S2 compound deformed less than the S4 compound, and the blowout time of each compound was close to each other. The S2 compound generated more heat build-up than the S4 compound. The abrasion loss of the S2 compound was less than that of the S4 compound. The size of the silica agglomerate reduced on both S4 and S2 compounds upon vulcanization. The addition of the bifunctional silanes (S2 and S4) on silica filled NR compound improved the processability of each compound and their effects were more significant on the S2 compound than the S4 compound. After vulcanization the silica agglomerate size of each compound reduced compared with before vulcanization.

A pressuremeter is an expandable tube which is placed in the soil, and then expanded under controlled condition against the soil. From this test a pressure expansion curve of the soil can be obtained. However soil disturbance during the test has significant influence on the results of tests. A general governing equation for pressuremeter test can be theoretically derived on the basis of the hyperbolic soil model and the cavity expansion theory. The curve fitting technique was used to establish the pressure-strain curve without disturbance of soil during testing. This interpretation makes use of both the loading and unloading portions of the test. An interpretation methodology is described and illustrated with pressuremeter test data carried out in the weathered granitic soil to estimate initial shear modulus. Standard penetration test is a very common site investigation technique in Korea. Therefore the blow counts of standard penetration test are discussed by comparing them with initial shear modulus.

In order to elucidate the mechanism of fishing condition variation of anchovy in the set net fisheries of Anggang Bay, the monthly catch of anchovy was analyzed and examined based on the data acquired from 2006 to 2010 in 13 different fishing grounds. Anchovy consistently appeared from April to December and reached the production of 840 to 1,424 t (average : 1,228 t), with a big annual variation. However, anchovy production in this area accounts for approximately 75% of the production by set net in Anggang Bay whereas it holds 6.8% of the nationwide production (=18,034 t) by set net. The school of anchovy starts to appear in April at the west mouth of the bay and move north-eastward. Afterward, having three of clockwise turns in the middle of the bay, they scatter to swim into the deep place of the bay and finally go out to turn back to their coming way. These behaviors of anchovy are likely related to thermal fronts as well as distributions of food. The production of anchovy (y, kg) relied greatly on frequencies of effective northeasterly ($x_1$) or northwesterly ($x_2$) wind (${\leq}$3.5m/s) which blow between April and June. Their relationships are as follows: $y=1086.27+21.499x_1-15.16x_2$ (r=0.901). Consequently, we concluded that the northeasterly wind, which appears in the breeding season of spring, played a role to retard the movement of anchovy school to the eastern sea, while the northwesterly wind inhibits the invasion of anchovy school into the bay.

Purpose: This study was conducted in order to investigate the therapeutic effect of closed reduction according to a classification in patients with nasal bone fracture. Methods: The study was conducted retrospectively on 186 patients with a mean age of 38 years (range: 7 to 80 years). All patients were diagnosed by clinical and radiologic examination, and then classified according to Hwang's classification by computed tomography. The patients were further classified by their age, gender, causes of fracture, operation timing after fracture, concurrent facial bone fracture, and complications. All patients underwent the same reduction and treatment protocol and were then followed up regularly for at least three months. Results: The cause of the fracture was slip down, and the highest prevalence was shown in the 20s. The mean operation timing after fracture was 4.1 days (range: 1 to 14 days), and it tended to be longer in the case of defected septal bone or more severe fracture. The most common concurrent facial bone fracture was orbital blow-out fracture, and zygomaticomaxillary complex and maxillary fracture occured frequently. The largest number of complications occurred in class III and IIBs patients, and the main complication was postoperative pain. Conclusion: Results of nasal bone closed reduction on the 186 patients showed that serious complications rarely occurred. Closed reduction is generally an effective treatment for nasal bone fracture. However, in the case of severe concurrent septal bone fracture or comminuted fracture with depression, open reduction should be considered. Further study with a larger number of patients and further classification is required.

Vacuum Residue (VR) combustion tests were carried out with a 20 kg/hr (fuel feed rate) small scale reactor. The nozzle used was a steam atomized, internal mixing type. Compared to heavy oil, vacuum residue used in this work is extremely high viscous and contains high percentages of sulfur, carbon residue and heavy metals. To ignite atomized VR particles, it was necessary to preheat the reactor, and it has been done with LP gas. The axial and radial gas temperature, major species concentrations and solid sample were analyzed when varying the fuel feed rate. The main reaction zone of atomized VR-air flame in a reactor was anticipated within about 1 m from the burner tip by considering the profiles oi gas temperature, species concentration and particle size measured along with the reactor. At downstream, the thermally, fully developed temperature distribution was obtained. SEM photographs revealed that VR carbon particles collected from the reactor are porous and have many blow-holes on the particle surface.
Cylinder bore wear may not be a problem in most current automotive engines. However, a small change in cylinder bore diameter can significantly affect the lubrication characteristics and ring axial motion. This in turn can cause to change inter-ring pressure, blow-by and oil consumption in an engine. Therefore, by predicting the wear of piston ring face, ring groove and cylinder bore altogether, the changed ring end gap and the changed volume of gas reservoir can be calculated. Then the excessive oil consumption can be predicted. Being based on the calculation of gas flow amount by the theory of piston ring dynamics and gas flow, and the calculation of oil film thickness and friction force by the analysis of piston ring lubrication, the calculation theory of oil amount through top ring gap into combustion chamber will be set. This is estimated as engine oil consumption. Furthermore, the wear theories of ring, groove and cylinder bore are included. Then the each amount of wear is to be obtained. The changed oil consumption caused by the new end gap and the new volume of oil reservoir around second land, can be calculated at some engine running interval. Meanwhile, the wear amount and oil consumption occurred during engine durability cycle are compared with the calculated values. Next, the calculated amount of oil consumption and wear are compared with the guideline of each pare0s wear and oil consumption. So, the timing of part repair and engine life cycle can be predicted in advance without performing engine durability test. The wear data of cylinder bore diameter are obtained from three engines before and after engine durability test. The calculated wear data of cylinder bore diameter are turn out to be twice of the lower bound of averaged test values at TDC and the lower bound at BDC.
Purpose: 'White-eye blowout' fracture is often occur in young patients and defined as blow out fracture with little or no clinical sign of soft tissue trauma such as edema, ecchymosis, but with marked motility restrictions in vertical gaze. In this conditions, immediate operation is essential. We reported the clinical investigation study of these cases about clinical symptoms and radiologic findings and introduce our experiences about immediate operations in 'white-eye blowout' fractures. Methods: From January 2008 to December 2009, nine pediatric patients who were diagnosed as pure white-eye blowout fractures were involved this study. Patients with other facial bone fractures or with poor general medical condition were excluded. In all cases, we performed immediate operation within 48 hours. Results: All patients had diplopia, vertical gaze restriction or systemic symptoms. Six patients had nausea, vomiting and syncope caused by oculocardiac reflex. In all patients, preoperative symptoms were improved after immediate operation. There were no postoperative complications such as infection, hematoma or wound dehiscence. Conclusion: When we meet the young patients with history of periocular trauma, with little or no soft tissue trauma signs, but with marked vertical gaze restriction or general symptoms caused by oculocardiac reflex, we should immediately examine by facial bone computed tomography and refer the patient to ophthalmologist for ophthalmic evaluations. If patient is diagnosed as orbital floor fracture with entrapped muscle or soft tissue, the earlier surgical reduction get better clinical outcomes.

There is a growing movement of cartoon and animation circles to legislate the cartoon promotion act. It is anticipated that a wind of change will blow through the cartoon circle as private organizations are planned to established and a budget over 20 billion won is allocated. Although it is very encouraging for colleges who perform a substantial role in introducing new authors, a full internal discussion on the cartoon promotion act is still at a fledgling stage. Currently, the college restructuring craze is sweeping the country and cartoon animation education program can not be an exception. Especially, the irony of helping graduates who desire to be authors find jobs and expressing it as a statistical figure is too burdensome and worn out to regard it as an indiscretion of government. This study aims to examine the problems of cartoon animation college programs in South Korea by focusing on graduates' job-finding and career planning and to propose solutions through the legislation of cartoon promotion act.
