Modern supply chains include multiple activities from collecting raw materials to transferring final products. These activities involve many parties who share a huge amount of valuable data, which makes managing supply chain systems a challenging task. Current supply chain management (SCM) systems adopt digital technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and blockchain for optimization purposes. Although these technologies can significantly enhance SCM systems, they have their own limitations that directly affect SCM systems. Security, performance, and scalability are essential components of SCM systems. Yet, confidentiality and scalability are one of blockchain's main limitations. Moreover, IoT devices are lightweight and have limited power and storage. These limitations should be considered when developing blockchain-based IoT-SCM systems. In this paper, the requirements of efficient supply chain systems are analyzed and the role of both IoT and blockchain technologies in providing each requirement are discussed. The limitations of blockchain and the challenges of IoT integration are investigated. The limitations of current literature in the same field are identified, and a secure and scalable blockchain-based IoT-SCM system is proposed. The proposed solution employs a Hyperledger fabric blockchain platform and tackles confidentiality by implementing private data collection to achieve confidentiality without decreasing performance. Moreover, the proposed framework integrates IoT data to stream live data without consuming its limited resources and implements a dualstorge model to support supply chain scalability. The proposed framework is evaluated in terms of security, throughput, and latency. The results demonstrate that the proposed framework maintains confidentiality, integrity, and availability of on-chain and off-chain supply chain data. It achieved better performance through 31.2% and 18% increases in read operation throughput and write operation throughput, respectively. Furthermore, it decreased the write operation latency by 83.3%.

Background: Interest in digital medical information has increased because it allows doctors to easily access a patient's medical records and provide appropriate medical care. Blockchain technology ensures data safety, reliability, integrity, and transparency by distributing medical data to all users over a peer-to-peer network. This study attempted to assess pediatricians' thoughts and attitudes toward introducing blockchain technology into the medical field. Methods: This study used a questionnaire survey to examine the thoughts and attitudes of 30- to 60-year-old pediatricians regarding the introduction of blockchain technology into the medical field. Responses to each item were recorded on a scale ranging from 1 (never agree) to 7 (completely agree). Results: The scores for the intentions and expectations of using blockchain technology were 4.0 to 4.6. Pediatricians from tertiary hospitals responded more positively (4.5-4.9) to the idea of using blockchain technology for hospital work relative to the general population (4.3-4.7). However, pediatricians working in primary and secondary hospitals had a slightly negative view of the application of blockchain technology to hospital work (p=0.018). Conclusion: When introducing the medical records of related pediatric and adolescent patients using blockchain technology in the future, it would be better to conduct a pilot project that prioritizes pediatricians in tertiary hospitals. The cost, policy, and market participants' perceptions are essential factors to consider when introducing technology in the medical field.

Blockchains are not efficient for real-time processing because the growing number of transactions and users delays many computations and network communications. This study proposes a cloud proxy server, so that legitimate users can use blockchain as well as reduce network latency. To proceed with a blockchain transaction, the blockchain copy server verifies all transaction-related data, but the cloud proxy server verifies legitimate users with a simple zero-knowledge proof algorithm, enabling efficient blockchain real-time processing. The cloud proxy server can support blockchain anonymity, security, and scalability that can verify legitimate users with the proposed zero-knowledge proof by receiving the registered key pair of the blockchain user. In the proposed research analysis, blockchain-based cloud proxy server reduces network latency compared to previous studies and key processing on cloud proxy servers reduces the cost of key computation compared to previous studies.

e-Governance is a medium to offer various services to citizens through a web portal, that exists in many countries nowadays. The existing e-Governance technology is a vast, centrally managed database and a set of applications that connect to it via web interfaces. Despite the modernisation of services, it remains with the lack of transparency. Thus, the existing infrastructure of e-Governance paves the way for corrupt practises by the bureaucrats. e-Governance needs a powerful underlying technology which doesn't provide any way to allow tampering of the record and which in turn eliminates corruption. In this paper, we took land registration as a use-case for building e-Governance by keeping Blockchain as an underlying technology, to put off the corrupt practices and to bring transparency. Once transactions in land registration added to the Blockchain, it is immutable as it is cryptographically secured. Besides, the blockchain technology is secured as the ledger is distributed over the network. If a hacker wants to modify the ledger, he needs to hack every node in the blockchain network. Hyperledger Fabric, a permissioned Blockchain adopted for implementation and Hyperledger Caliper for performance analysis with these evaluation metrics such as throughput, latency and execution time.
A bitcoin-based technology named blockchain is garnering attention in various industries as a cost-effective measure in strengthening security and a reliable technology medium. Blockchain technology will play a critical role in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and IT technology is expected to bring fundamental changes. This study focuses on the characteristics of blockchain technology and the effects of the intention to accept its technology in an empirical manner. The aspects of the technology are organized by researching blockchain technology and theories of technology acceptability and previous studies were used as guidelines to create the research model and propose the hypothesis. The research model is based on UTAUT with a set-up of 5 factors for performance expectancy and effort expectancy. For empirical analysis, a survey was conducted on 283 IT workers in Korea, To examine the hypothesis structural equation modeling was used performance expectancy was influenced by security, reliability, diversity, and economic efficiency while effort expectancy was influenced by reliability and economic efficiency. Performance expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions affect the intention to accept. Innovativeness of an organization and control effects are influenced as well. The present study aims to provide practical guidance as supplementary research in utilizing blockchain technology, and the limitations of the study and future research possibilities are discussed as well.

Blockchain has been developed as a key technology for many cryptocurrency systems such as Bitcoin. These days, blockchain technology attracts many people to adopt it to various fields beyond cryptocurrency systems for their information sharing and processing. However, with the development and increasing adoption of the blockchain, security incidents frequently happen in the blockchain systems due to their implementation flaws. In order to solve this problem, in this paper, we analyze the software vulnerabilities of Bitcoin and Ethereum, which are the most widely used blockchain applications in real world. For that purpose, we conduct an in-depth analysis of source code of them to detect software vulnerabilities, and examine an OS command injection attack exploiting the detected ones.

Recently, user-driven privacy control technology, such as distributed ID management, has been gaining attention. However, the existing blockchain-based access control studies have not provided a sufficient level of privacy control method to users. This paper proposes a method that combines permissioned blockchain technology and a recent privacy control standard. To allow users to participate in privacy control, a token-based user access control service that conforms to the UMA2 standard was applied to the blockchain dApp. By combining the blockchain and UMA2, the proposed method provides a user-centered privacy control function that the existing blockchain could not provide. In addition, we solved the problem of privacy, security, and availability of entities, which are the disadvantages of UMA2.
Background: Stroke patients usually experience damage to multiple functions and a long rehabilitation period. Hence, there is a large volume of patient clinical information. It thus takes a long time for clinicians to identify the patient's information and essential pieces of information may be overlooked. To solve this, we stored the essential clinical information of stroke patients in a blockchain and implemented the blockchain technology using the Java programming language. Methods: We created a mini blockchain to store the medical information of patients using the Java programming language. Results: After generating a unique pair of public/private keys for identity verification, a patient's identity is verified by applying the Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm based on the generated keys. When the identity verification is complete, new medical data are stored in the transaction list and the generated transaction is verified. When verification is completed normally, the block hash value is derived using the transaction value and the hash value of the previous block. The hash value of the previous block is then stored in the generated block to interconnect the blocks. Conclusion: We demonstrated that blockchain can be used to store and deliver the patient information of stroke patients. It may be difficult to directly implement the code that we developed in the medical field, but it can serve as a starting point for the creation of a blockchain system to be used in the field.
Blockchain technology provides a decentralized and peer-to-peer network, which has the advantages of transparency and immutability. In this paper, a novel secure authentication scheme applying digital holography to blockchain technology is proposed to protect privacy information in network nodes. The transactional information of the node is chained permanently and immutably in the blockchain to ensure network security. By designing a novel two-dimensional (2D) array data structure of the block, a proof of work (PoW) in the blockchain is executed through digital holography technology to verify true authentication and legal block linkage. A hash generated from the proposed algorithm reveals a random number of 2D array data. The real identity of each node in the network cannot be forged by a hacker's tampering because the privacy information of the node is encrypted using digital holography and stored in the blockchain. The reliability and feasibility of the proposed scheme are analyzed with the help of the research results, which evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method. Forgery by a malicious node is impossible with the proposed method by rejecting a tampered transaction. The principal application is a secure anonymity system guaranteeing privacy information protection for handling of large information.

A blockchain-based decentralized service can offer reliable services without the centralized server by operating the system based on the consensus among byzantine participants. Participants can interact with the blockchain network through a digital signature mechanism but the private key management issue remains unresolved. NIST SP800-57 provides a key-management guidance but this guidance is not appropriate for blockchain-based services because it does not consider a decentralized environment. In this paper, we define the core functions of the blockchain wallet application for private key management and present security protections according to NIST SP800-57, as well as related techniques to satisfy them. Finally, we propose the private key management guideline for secure blockchain-based decentralized services.
