Studies on the Application of High-Gloss Plastic Pigment for Paper Coating(II) -Effect of Mixing Ratio of Pigment on the Packing Structure and Optical Properties of Coated Paper- (종이 도공용 고광택 유기안료의 적용에 관한 연구(제2보) -안료의 혼합비율이 도공층의 적층구조와 광학적 특성에 미치는 영향-)

  • The main objective of this study was to investigate the packing state and optical properties of coated paper prepared with different coating colors by varying the blending ratio of such pigment as clay, $CaCO_3$, and plastic pigment. To evaluate the effect of packing state of pigment on the properties of coated paper, the coating thickness, which was theoretically calculated by specific gravity, and packing volume of pigment were used. It was found that there exists close relationship between the coating thickness and surface property of coated paper. For instance, the macro roughness(smoothness) of coated paper is closely related to bulkiness. Plastic pigments used in this research has a high finishing efficiency on the light weight coatings. Especially, hollow sphere pigment was very effective for improving the property of coated paper produced in this test. And when HSP was blended with $CaCO_3$the surface property such as smoothness and gloss improved significantly.

  • 유기태양전지를 제작 시에 요구되는 것 중 하나는 active layer의 thermal annealing이다. Thermal thermal annealing 없이는 P3HT의 self-organization이 잘 이뤄지지 않아 비정질의 모습을 보인다. 또한 low band-gap이나 열에 취약한 물질을 사용 시에 태양전지 효율이 낮아지게 된다. 이 점을 착안하여 Active layer에 사용되는 유기용매의 solvent vapor pressure 차이를 이용하여 co-solvent가 되도록 mixing하여, co-solvent로 poly(3-hexylthiopene)(P3HT):[6,6] - phenyl $C_{61}$-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM)를 blending 하여 active layer로 사용하였으며, 유기태양전지 디바이스 제작 결과 thermal thermal annealing 없이 2.8%까지 도달하였다. X-Ray Diffraction(XRD)과 Atomic Force Microscopy(AFM)를 통하여 P3HT의 결정화가 이루어 졌음을 확인하고 이를 통해 active layer의 thermal annealing이 없이도 P3HT의 self-organization이 이뤄짐을 알 수 있었다.

  • Abstract: The effect of lead free glass frit compositions on the properties of thick film conductor and resistor pastes were investigated. Two types lead free frits, HBF-A(without $Bi_2O_3$) and HBF-B(with $Bi_2O_3$) were made from $SiO_2$, $B_2O_3$, $Al_2O_3$, CaO, MgO, $Na_2O$, $K_2O$, ZnO, MnO, $ZrO_2$, $Bi_2O_3$. And Ag based conductor pastes and $RuO_2$ based resistor paste were prepared by mixed with these frits and functional phase(Ag and $RuO_2$), and organic vehicle. The properties of thick film conductor and resistor sintered at $850^{\circ}C$ were studied after printing on $Al_2O_3$ substrate. The morphology of the sintered films surface were SEM and EDS were carried out to analysis the chemical composition on resistor surface and state of Ru atom in frit matrix.

A Spectroscopic Abundance Study of Dwarf Cepheid V1719 Cygni

  • Spectroscopic CCD observations were carried out for V 1119 Cygni and the spectrum inthe visual region is analysed relative to the SLln with a line-blanketed convective modelatmosphere. Adopted atmospheric parameters are : an effective temperature ( Teff) =7000 K, a surface gravity log g = 3.4. Although our result is dependent onmicroturbulent velocity and damping constant, it was found that Mg in V1719 Cygni isnearly solar, or underabundant by 0.2 to 0.3 dex according to the analysis of5172.684A Mg I line which is relatively free from blending. This is inconsistentwith the previous photometric result wh(:re V1719 Cygni was known as anabnormally metal rich variable.

Stability of a cylindrical shell with an oblique end

  • The linearized buckling problem is considered for an isotropic clamped-clamped cylindrical shell with an oblique end. A theoretical solution based on the Budiansky shell theory is developed, and numerical results are determined using the differential quadrature method. In formulating the solutions, the surface of the shell is developed onto a plane, and the resulting irregular domain is then mapped, using blending functions, onto a square parent domain. The analysis is carried out in the parent domain. Convergence, validation, and parametric studies are conducted for a uniform external pressure loading. Results determined are compared with finite element results. The paper ends with an appropriate set of conclusions.

  • Organic conducting N-methyl phenazinium TCNQ (7,7,8,8-tetracyanoquinonedimethane) ion radical salt was synthesized and characterized by FTIR, EA. After blending this material with PMMA using NMP/DMF, the solution was bar-coated on a PET film and dried at 40$^{\circ}C$. The optical micrograph showed the fibril crystals. The surface resistivity was 10$\^$5/ $\Omega$/$\square$. The conductivity decreased considerably at temperatures above 80$^{\circ}C$, although it decreased slightly at RT and 4$^{\circ}C$.

A study on the Process Improvement of Papermade Reconstituted Tobacco (제지식 판상엽의 공정 개선 연구)

  • The reconstituted tobacco leaves(RTL) playa major part in the control of the low density and tar cigarette. Reconstituted tobacco manufactured by the papermaking process has much higher filling power than homogenized tobacco manufactured by slurry and rolling process. Fragile reconstituted tobaccos are liable to lead to small particles detrimental for filling power so they must be properly flexible. This work was conducted to determine the effect of CaCO$_3$ addition in paper-making process on the filling power and the flexibility of the reconstituted tobacco and to obtain the fundamental informations for improving the quality of domestic reconstituted tobacco. We analyzed the wood fiber species, the filler level, the fiber length, the fineness level and observed the surface of the RTL. From the obtained results, we could determine that foreign reconstituted tobacco was manufactured by blending softwood with hardwood and over 8% of calcium carbonate at the addition level. The domestic RTL has much higher fine fiber level by 23.2 % than that of foreign, so the refining treatment process and the condition must be reoptimized for the improvement of RTL quality.

  • The main objective of this study was to investigate effects of pigment mixed with different ratio on the double coated paper. Mineral pigments such as clay and ground calcium carbonate(GCC) as well as hollow sphere plastic pigment were used to evaluate the physical, optical properties and printabilities of double coated paper. The physical properties such as gloss and smoothness, and the printability(ink gloss) of double coated paper were measured to evaluate the effects of the bottom layer on improving the properties of top layer. The data indicated that the usage of hollow sphere plastic pigment for the bottom layer coating improved the surface properties of double coated paper, and that ink gloss was significantly influenced by the structure of bottom layer even when hollow sphere plastic pigment was used for the bottom layer coating.

  • Starch was crosslinked with epichlorohydrin. Crosslinked starch-filled waterborne acrylate (CSWAC) films were prepared by blending this crosslinked starch with waterborne acrylate. The thermal and mechanical properties of these films were investigated by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), tensile strength and elongation test. The biodegradability was also studied by determination of reduced sugar products after enzymatic hydrolysis and the surface morphology was investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The CSW AC film showed significantly higher tensile strength and elongation than those of starch-filled waterbonre acrylate (SWAC). The biodegradability of this film was higher than that of native starch-filled acrylate film, and was increased by the addition of crosslinked starch to the acrylate film.

  • Various geometric modeling techniques for a hull have been developed with wide application of computer to the ship design. Up to now, they are used for the representation of the sculptured surface with the piecewise polynominal curves or surfaces for a conventional hull. In this paper, a convenient and accurate modeling technique that is instancing and blending of the geometry primitives is introduced for a non-conventional hull such as SWATH, trimaran, caisson etc. Geometric characteristics, hydrostatic particulars and stability of the definded hull are calculated.
