In this research, the possible applicability of mixture blended with natural, crushed, and recycled fine aggregate are discussed. The fresh and hardened properties of mortar using blended fine aggregates are monitored depending on various blending ratio of fine aggregates. Newly developed ternary diagram was also utilized for better interpretation of the data. It was found that air content increased and unit weight decreased as recycled fine aggregate content increased. With moisture type processing of recycled fine aggregate, the mortar flow was not negatively affected by increase in the recycled fine aggregate content. The ternary diagram is found to be an effective graphical presentation tool that can be used for the quality evaluation of mortar using blended fine aggregate.

It is now established that more than two types of blended aggregate have beneficial effects on quality and supply of concrete in the long run. However, studies on blended aggregate have not widely been progressive and the evaluation method of its most favorable mixture proportion is still needed. Therefore this study investigated the most favorable mixture proportion through the physical experiment of fresh and hardened state's cement mortar, in response to three types of composite ratio, natural fine aggregate(Ns), crushed fine aggregate(Cs) and recycled fine aggregate(Rs). Test showed that increase of blending ratio of Ns and Cs improved fluidity of mot1ar. For the properties of compressive and flexural strength, mortar blending Ns and Cs properly, exhibited similar value to one using only Cs, while mortar mixing Rs showed lower strength value as less as 6% of control one. Mortar using only Rs exhibited the largest drying shrinkage value. In addition, even thought it is not a clear quantitative analysis, technical-imaging-skill presenting the most favorable mixture proportion 3-dimensionally is proposed in this research, in order to notify the proportion easily.

To evaluate the practical application of oyster shells as construction materials, an experimental study was performed. More specifically, the long-term mechanical properties and durability of concrete blended with oyster shells were investigated. Test results indicate that long-term strength of concrete blended with 10% oyster shells is almost identical to that of normal concrete. However, the long-term strength of concrete blended with 20% oyster shells Is appreciably lower than that of normal concrete. 1'hereby, concrete with higher oyster shell has the possibility giving a bad influence on the concrete long-term strength. Elastic modulus of concrete blended with crushed oyster shells decreases as the blending mixture ratio increases. Namely, the modulus is reduced by approximately 10∼15% when oyster shells are blended up to 20% replacing the fine aggregate. The drying shrinkage strain increases as the blending ratio increases. In addition, the existing model code of drying shrinkage does not coincide with the test results of this study. An adequate prediction equation needs to be developed. The utilization of oyster shells as the fine aggregate in concrete has an insignificant effect on freezing and thawing resistance, carbonation and sulfuric acid attack of concrete recycling. However, water permeability is considerably improved.

As this study is one related to ultra high strength concrete using crushed coarse limestone aggregates among the series of experiments for improving the economic inefficiency of the ultra high strength concretes used for high rise structures, it has analyzed the flowability of ultra high strength concrete according to the variation of blended fine aggregates. As a result of analyzing the characteristics of fresh concrete, it is determined that the application of ultra high strength concrete would be difficult in case of a mix using blended fine aggregates as lower flowability than the mix using limestone crushed fine aggregate only was shown in all mixes using blended fine aggregates.
The duality of recycled fine aggregate (RS) which was produced at the waste concrete crushing was investigated. The compressive strength, flexural strength and absorption of mortar utilized with RS were examined. It was evaluated on the application of RS as precast concrete aggregate. The density and absorption of RS were $2.31g/cm^3$ and 8.07% respectively, the quality of RS was satisfied with the criterion of KS F 2573 type 2. The maximum 28days compressive strength of mortar mixed with blended cement MRS1, MRS2 and MRS3 were developed with 15.8, 27.4 and 48.7MPa respectively, in condition to curing temperature $40^{\circ}C$ and water-cement ratio 37.5%. When blended cement MRS1 and MRS2 were used, the maximum flexural strength of mortar was developed at curing temperature $40^{\circ}C$ and water-cement ratio 35.0%. When blended cement MRS3 was used, the maximum flexural strength of mortar was developed at curing temperature $40^{\circ}C$ and water-cement ratio 37.5%. The absorption of mortar mixed with blended cement MRS1, MRS2 and MRS3 were indicated the range of $8.3{\sim}7.3%,\;6.5{\sim}8.5%$ and $3.5{\sim}6%$ respectively. Therefore, when the ratio of blended cement and RS is appropriately centre]led, it would be expected that MRS1, MRS2 and MRS3 will be able to apply the variable low strength, medium strength and high strength precaste concrete.

The objective of this study is to find the long-age strength property and the compressive strength of age which is used as the specified concrete strength. The W/W ratio (45%, 50%, 55%, 60%) fine aggregate of useful river sand or blended sand(river sane : sea sand=1:1) were chosen as the experimental parameters. the experimental results show that pH(it means the material segregation resistance) & suspension were increased larger, so W/C become larger, and slump flow was increased as W/C increased (except W/C=60%), air-contents were decreased as W/C became increase and all of this results are satisfied with the under of 40%. The compressive strength ( a case use only river sand as fine aggregate) is showed less than the case of blended asnd. Because the unit weight of the blended sand is more heavy than the unit weigh of the river sand. The results of the case which haven been used only river sand, and the case have been used blended sand), both case have considered W/C. So it's possible to use the compressive strength of age 28 day like the case of plain concrete.
To evaluate the practical application of oyster shells(OS) as construction materials, an experimental study was performed. Thereby, concrete with higher oyster shell blend has the possibility of negatively influencing the concrete long-term strength. Elastic modulus of concrete blended with crushed oyster shells decreases as the blending mixture rate increases. Namely, the modulus is reduced to approximately 10∼15% when oyster shells are blended up to 20% as the fine aggregate. The drying shrinkage strain increases with an increasing crushed oyster shells substitution rate. In addition, the existing model code of drying shrinkage and creep do not coincide with the test results of this study. An adequate prediction equation needs to be developed. The utilization of oyster shells as the fine aggregate in concrete has an insignificant effect on fleering and thawing resistance, carbonation and chemical attack of concrete. However, water permeability is considerably improved.

The objective of in this study makes investigation into the characteristics of antiwashout underwater concrete as to mix proportion, casting and curing water through experimental researches. in this study, sea sand is blended with river sand, crushed sand is blended with river sand and sea sand as to investigate the quality change and characteristics of antiwashout underwater concrete with variation of blend ratio of sea sand and crushed sand(0, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100%). Higher compressive strength is measured following the order of river sand, sea sand, crushed sand regardless of age and casting condition. Except for case of using river sand, blended ratio of 40% is appeared on most compressive strength.
In this paper, the performance of alkali-activated slag cement (AASC) is assessed in terms of compressive strength and drying shrinkage, using three different types of silica sand and river sand. The sand type has an important influence on the properties of AASC mortar. Three silica sands (SS1, SS2 and SS3) and river sand (RS) were considered. Three series of blended sands have been tested. A first series (S1) with RS and SS1, a second series (S2) with RS and SS2 and third series (S3) with RS and SS3 with a different blended ratios. The result shows a very significant influence of the blended sand on the AASC mortar properties. The compressive strength and drying shrinkage related with the particle sizes and blended ratios of sands are investigated considering blended sand properties like fineness modulus (FM) and relative specific surface. The type and blended ratio of sand seems to have very significant and important consequences for the mix design of the AASC mortar.
