A clinical evaluation was made on teeth in 113 subjects from ages 19 to 23 with Angle's Class I occlusion who were free from prosthesis, orthodontics, and occlusal equilibration. The study was made to determine if there was a relation between the type of occlusion, non-working contact and temporomandibular dysfunction. From the foregoing study, the author obtained the following results. 1. In lateral excursion, there was not any significant difference between bilateral canine protected occlusion (31%), bilateral group function (32.7%), and mixed type (34.5%). 2. Only 10 of 113 subjects studied had non-working side tooth contacts (8.2 per cent). 3. Twenty per cent of subjects with non-working side contact showed temporomandibular joint dysfunction. 4. Non-working side contacts were not observed in subjects with canine guided occlusion. 5. It would be premature to relate the type of occlusion on working side directly to temporomandibular joint dysfunction.

A 20-year-old man with bilateral medial medullary infarction showed transition of bowtie and upbeat nystagmus into hemi-seesaw nystagmus. Follow-up MRI revealed near complete resolution of the right medullary lesion. This transition of nystagmus suggests that the upbeat nystagmus was generated by bilateral lesions in the ascending pathways from both anterior semicircular canals (SCC), and that the hemi-seesaw nystagmus was caused by damage to the pathway from the left anterior SCC.

A 68-year-old man with small cell carcinoma of the lung and adenocarcinoma of the prostate underwent Tc-99m MDP bone scintigraphy for the evaluation of skeletal metastases. Bilateral symmetrical photon defects in both parietal bones of the skull were observed. The radiographs of the skull demonstrates biparietal thinning in the same area of the abnormality identified on bone scintigraphy. Although these findings in cancer patients can be mistaken for skeletal metastases, the symmetry and location of the photon defects are generally indicative of biparietal thinning.

This paper provides the performance comparison of selected post filters for depth map in 3D video system. In the performance comparison, the dilation filter which is currently adopted in 3D-ATM reference S/W, the bilateral filter, and the depth-oriented depth boundary reconstruction filter. In the paper, we first introduce those filters in details, and show the experimental results as post filter in 3D video system.

Erythermalgia has typical triad of burning pain, redness and localized elevation of body temperature at the involved extremities and according to the etiolgy it can be divided as primary (unknown) and secondary erythermalgia. One case of typical primary erythermalgia involving both lower extremities in 20 year old male patient was reported with dramatic symptomatic improvement for 4 months after bilateral lumbar sympathectomy. And there was another case of primary erythermalgia involving both upper and lower extremities in 12 year old girl, and all the symptoms and signs were disappeared about one week later with combined bilateral thoracic and lumbar sympathectomy. It is considered the first case of primary erythermalgia treated completely with sympathectomy in Korea.

Constrictive pericarditis is often accompanied with ~brothorax and deterioration of cardiac, hemodynamic functions. Surgical relief of fibrous peel causes remarkable improvement in pulmonary, cardiac, hemodynamic function, and subjective symptoms. We experienced 4 cases of constrictive pericarditis combined with bilateral ~brothorax after bilateral pleural effusion caused by tuberculosis and non-specific inflammation. Pleural decortication and pericardiectomy were done at the same time through anterolateral thoracotomy with sternal transection[3 patients] and median sternotomy incision[l patient]. Low cardiac output was the most common complication. With left anterolateral thoracotomy, we could prevent the hypotension from massive retraction for dissecting by median sternotomy, which was good for dissecting from anterior wall of left ventricle to posterior wall of left ventricle and surrounding phrenic nerve. It was enough to dissect the portion being through hard to dissect, right atrium, SVC and IVC.

We report a case of recurred Takayasu,s arteritis.The patient was 28-year-old female underwent aorto-left common carotid and aorto-left subclavian bypass graft replacement 1 year ago.Unfortunately, she was readmitted because of newly developing angina and both eye claudication severe headache. Aorto-coronary angiogram showed complete obstruction of left common carotid artery ,stenosis of right carotid artery bifurcation and ostial stenosis of right coronary artery.Bilateral carotid arteries bypass graft with great saphenous vein and right coronary artery bypass graft with right internal mammary artery were done at same the time and she discharged after 21 days without any problem.

A 76-year-old woman with a history of chest pain and palpitation, was diagnosed with bilateral coronary to pulmonary artery fistulae with a concomitant saccular aneurysm, which is quite rare. Suture closure of the fistular vessels around the pulmonary artery root, the removal of a saccular aneurysm, and the transpulmonary closure of coronary to pulmonary artery fistulae were performed. The patient was well at 4 months after surgery.

This paper presents a design methodology for magnetically tunable X-band E-plane type waveguide filters. The proposed design is based on using of quarter wavelength transmission line for compensating the negative length transmission line of end K-inverters of E-plane type waveguide filters. The derived formulae are applied for initial design and the correction method is also provided for final design by considering the frequency dependent characteristic of K-inverters. The analysis results of E-plane pype waveguide structure loaded with ferrite slab are obtained using the edge based finite element method including higher order mode effecets. It is shown that the unilateral finline E-plane type waveguide filter as well as the bilateral finline E-plane type waveguide filter achieves the the manetically tunable characteristic. The X-band experimantal results for bilateral and unilateral finline E-plane type waveguide filters agree well with the simulated data.

This study explores how strategic alliance activities are evolving and the factors that impact on the formation and development of airline alliances. Findings show the initiation of regional and more liberalized bilateral, or open skies, agreements have removed some of the impediments to structural changes in international aviation. Airlines in more liberal markets enter into greater numbers and more integrative forms of alliances. Also, airlines, on average, achieve better results of operation if the market is more liberal. Essentially, there is a positive relationship between the developments of alliances and the liberalization of air transport markets. It has been questioned that the US bilateral open skies agreements provide its carriers more access to the global market and countries that do not enter into such agreements with the US risk a loss of traffic. Consequently, open skies agreements may enable carriers who have the freedom to exercise market power to be dominant in the markets. This suggests that regulatory coordination and liberalization of international aviation reinforce each other and should therefore be pursued simultaneously.
