Multi-Communication Protocol-based Invisible Mission Drone Control System (다중 통신 프로토콜 기반 비가시권 임무 드론 조종 시스템)

  • Due to the development of drones, drone missions are performed in various fields, and BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line Of Sight) flight is performed in a wide area. Most drones operate through radio frequency (RF) communication and can only fly in a limited radius of about 1-2 km. To overcome this, in this paper, we propose a multi-communication protocol-based drone control system to control drones performing missions in BVLOS using RF and LTE (Long Term Evolution). The proposed system consists of a control unit and a drone unit. The control unit transmits one control signal generated from the remote controller through RF and LTE. The drone unit classifies the control signal transmitted through RF and LTE according to the priority of the communication protocol and delivers it to the FC (Flight Controller). Through the proposed control system, it is possible to overcome the RF communication distance limit and prevent the communication disconnection situation.

A comparative study on UAV pilot license by the classification criteria (무인비행장치 분류기준에 따른 조종 자격제도 비교 연구)

  • It is necessary to establish a UAV pilot license and training system because the number of UAV-related accidents has rapidly risen. Most of accidents are caused by the human factors such as the lack of control skill and aviation knowledge. In this paper, we investigate licensing policy of small UAV pilots and examine the level of UAV licensing system and classification criteria based on comparative analysis of national cases such as USA, UK and China. Recently, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Affairs is planning to improve the safety regulation by taking into account the risk level of the licensing system, which has been classified according to the existing weight and commercial purpose. From the comparative analysis, we suggested a improvement policy for UAV licensing system in the view of pilot license segmentation, beyond Visual Line-of-sight flight and high risk UAV for non-commercial.

  • In modem society, individuality and diversity are emphasized and visual sensation is considered to be very important because of high degree industrialization and development of mass media. And also, the Total Fashion Age opened. In the past, spectacles was a mere means of correcting or protecting sight. It's design was very simple in form and skill. But in 21C, eyewear design is viewed as a vehicle to create fashion and keeps changing to be in line with the contemporary culture and fashion trend beyond the old functions. The purpose of this study was to investigate the conditions of eyewear design in the 21st century by looking into the history of eyewear and analyzing the trend of eyewear design and the color image with fashion, hair, and make-up.

A Study on the Establishment of Minimum Safe Altitude and UAS Operating Limitations (최저비행고도와 UAS 운영제한고도 구축에 관한 연구)

  • UTM is an air traffic management ecosystem under development for autonomously controlled operations of UAS by the FAA, NASA, other federal partner agencies, and industry. They are collaboratively exploring concepts of operation, data exchange requirements, and a supporting framework to enable multiple UAS operations beyond visual line-of-sight at altitudes under AGL 500ft in airspace where air traffic services are not provided. Minimum Safe Altitude is a generic expression, used in various cases to denote an altitude below which it is unsafe to fly owing to presence of terrain or obstacles. The European drone regulation mentions that the UAS is maintained within 120 metres from the closest point of the surface of the earth during flight, except when overflying an obstacle. This study attempted to develop a minimum flight altitude database system. Based on domestic and international rules and regulations on setting the minimum flight altitude it is expected that it can be applied to the operation of aircraft and unmanned aerial system in UTM environments for specific area in Korea.
